Enskynelson:Thanks! Please how many semesters is the program? And how many credits in total? |
Enskynelson:Should we go to the study centre if we haven't yet been verified online? Or only after verification? |
I have also just applied for MSc Public Health, but haven't been verified. Did you get verified before or after your transcript was received by NOUN? |

Please, is admission for the June semester still open? |
Hi, do you have raw groundnut peeling machines? |
I'm interested, more info please |
Mickey7:Have you done this? Did it work? I tried earlier but it didn't work, not sure if the problem was from gtbank or the college pay. I'm waiting for Uniben to give the go-ahead, as advised. |
Has anyone been able to make payments? I tried paying the acceptance fee thrice, each time my gtbank token code wasn't accepted. |
How long do new students have to pay the acceptance fee once admission is gained? What about hostel and tuition fees? |

I don't understand why people are criticizing Cameron. It's only significant cos it's an African church, he probably is looking to increase his appeal to Africans. Politicians go to churches, just as they go to different parts of the country on their campaign trail. Christian voters must be courted too, it's not a new thing. It's not even a GEJ/GMB thing, American politics has it almost worse. All those saying he supports homosexuality, Adeboye doesn't have to agree with his values to pray for him. It's God's prerogative what & how to answer prayers, the duty of man is to pray. Politicians are dirty, yeah... But remember how the religious people condemned Jesus for dining & visiting with publicans & tax collectors. Everyone knew what he stood for, he shared his message with them, but it was up to them if & when they accepted it. So i think the issue is if the association with politicians is changing the message preached. Nero & other political leaders loved to associate with the early church. It has always been, and would continue to be so. Everybody loves success, if you become successful tomorrow you would be sharing a stage with world leaders. |
The elections stretched the fragile tolerance we used to have for one another, now it's all hatred & irrationality. It would be good if we could find a way to peacefully split up, since this idea of One Nigeria seems like a castle in the air. I bet the elites of all tribes would be against it though, they have too much to lose. lydelara:to all those saying that kunle afolayan didn't insult igbos, did you see where he said "May the wrath of God strike all of you"? https://www.nairaland.com/2240758/kunle-afolayan-blasts-igbos-blames while he probably meant for the wrath of god to strike the pirates, by starting his rant by saying these pirates are Igbo he has included the tribe in his insults/curse. I like to believe he doesn't hate Igbos that badly, just a wrong post at a wrong time. We all have those moments when we are really pissed off with someone from another tribe and we feel that momentary annoyance towards the person's tribe. He can't be excused however, cos he is an adult & a public figure and should have better control over his emotions. |
If you really want to sustain friendships, you need to be able to make conversation. Doesn't have to be secrets or anything serious at first. Focus on a small group of friends, easy going, non-judgmental people that you really like. Talk as much as you can about random topics, sharing your views on impersonal topic helps you get comfortable with them e.g. Boko Haram, fashion, sports, NL trending topics. You don't have to agree with their views, or vice versa. It's all about engaging in regular discussion. At first it might feel tedious, but if you try to enjoy yourself (avoid arguments, choose light & funny topics as much as possible) you would find that you look forward to the conversations. Then you should try to add some personal touches, short stories from your childhood, random gist about your day/school/work. Just keep it light always, you don't have to share anything you don't want to. Take that pressure off yourself. BTW, you can make real friends over the Internet so don't despise your online friendships. I started out that way too, the Internet is a good place to loosen up & practice for the real world. WhatsApp, BBM are also helpful... *hope this helps |
It was the same in my family. My mum was a housewife but did small businesses, which she used to complement my dad's income. People assumed my dad earned much more than he did cos she made us & the house look extra nice. Dad started getting lazy, so she worked even harder sometimes doing 3-4 different businesses. Eventually his laziness cost him his job and she had to carry the family's financial burden alone. She really covered for him though, cos she didn't want people to know. I have seen fathers who would go out of their way to buy clothes, feed their kids, make their wives happy. I pray for such a man. To men, shirking your responsibilities doesn't just affect your wife, it messes up your kids. Especially if it starts when they are young. pickabeau1:I better start planning a massive retirement home for when your crop of 'irresponsible' men grow old. I bet the children you abandon will be glad to have a place to abandon you to. |
Some good guys are nice to you but never try to define the relationship, or explicitly state their interest in you. Then a sharp guy comes and makes his interest known, and Mr. Good Guy cries foul... That's my experience anyways, good guys are reluctant to make moves, so please don't call it rejection if you never asked her out (or if you only did after she started seeing someone else). It's good to start with casual friendship, but a man should be decisive enough to know when to declare his interest. |
gleatz:This issue of the 'bad girls' easily getting the 'good guys' came up in a conversation recently. A married man gave a thought-provoking answer: Usually 'good girls' expect to be rewarded (for being good) by a wonderful Prince, and thus, they tend to be more selective. They have built up such high notions of their future partner, so they could appear proud/snobbish/difficult to please. Good guys find this quite hard to deal with. 'bad girls' on the other hand, are more accepting of guys' imperfections (since they are very much in touch with their own imperfections). They know how to make a man feel good with himself/comfortable/at ease. This is what good guys are usually looking for. |
As someone who is unaligned with both parties, and undecided about both candidates, I find it disturbing the blind fervor with which APC supporters are going about this election. 1. We all know that this is the closest race our country has ever seen, and it could swing either way. However, I read a lot of posts insinuating that if GEJ wins then the election was rigged, but if GMB wins then it was free & fair. This sentiment doesn't take into account the large number of swing voters... This is disturbing cos it's this sort of thinking that leads to post election violence... 2. The vehemence & near-fanaticism with which they approach any election or GEJ/GMB or APC/PDP related topic. I just wonder, arent we all supposed to be rooting for Nigeria? But it appears that the change agenda & GMB are more worthy of protection than national unity. It's like even the very country & we the citizens take a backstage for an agenda & agent that should serve us... These issues apply to supporters of both parties, but honestly far worse with APC supporters. Please note, I am not condemning APC or GMB. Not at all! I am just saying that as much as we want change, we must be wary of fanaticism & extremism that could totally distabilize this country. Believe me, we're getting real close to that level of fanaticism... Again, I'm not a PDP/GEJ supporter. In fact, I blame these extremist attitudes on the ineptitude of government. People are so frustrated that they would easily put aside reason. With regards to both candidates, my opinion is that Nigeria deserves better than either of them. Both have had the opportunity to make their mark in our history but failed. Whoever wins should be grateful to the PEOPLE for the second chance, that he didn't deserve. More importantly, we the people need to stop seeing one another as enemy. If we all supported the same party it would be a dictatorship not a democracy... The same vigor with which we have supported during the campaign, let's use it to support our communities anyway we can. Rather than hailing elected officials as celebrities, let's start holding them accountable as the public servants that they are. |
Hmmm, so many guys advocating natural hair/look. yet it's the girls with the supermodel look that have all the guys falling over. the problem is with the general perception of beauty, which wouldn't change very much no matter what we say. Many women look more beautiful with long hair, and that's why hair extensions are used by women everywhere. it's more obvious with blacks because it's usually of a different texture than our natural hair, and then we don't grow very long hair naturally. natural hair is quite difficult to maintain. i've been natural for 2 years, and it's not getting any easier. in fact, it gets harder as the hair grows longer. it takes at least 15 minutes to comb through my hair, about an hour to flat iron, and it requires a lot of creativity (and hours watching other people's videos on youtube) to come up with hairstyles. so for guys who complain about girls spending so much time and money on weaves, they'll still need to spend a lot of time and some money too on natural hair. about smelly hair, that's simply a maintenance issue. it doesn't smell because it's artificial, but because of infrequent washing or wearing it for too long. padded bras what's wrong with them? i can understand the fakery of push ups, but there's nothing wrong with padded bras. and even the push ups, i think the reason for wearing them is more of visual stimulation than deceit. jerseyboy:white people use hair extensions too. |
i don't think women are better writers. maybe except in the romance genre, and then mostly because they write most of the romance books anyway. |
things fall apart is a great book, so i'm not trying to put it down (how could I?). but i can't even imagine how it can rank as the 14th most famous novel. i mean, i can think of almost 20 authors with works more famous. between shakespeare & dickens the top 20 should be really hard to even get into. Paul Coelho's 'The Alchemist' is probably the most popular novel by a living author in terms of translations and copies sold. and it's not even on the list! Lord of the rings is 35, the bible is 41, and the koran & Da Vinci Code aren't even on the list!?! i think that list reflects the author's sentiments more than the public's. for influential/famous contemporary books: Harry Potter, Twilight, Da Vinci Code, Purpose Driven Life. they have amassed massive cult followings, authors like Stephen King, Anne Rice, Jeffery Archer, Mario Puzo, Dean Koontz, Stephen Ludlum, Danielle Steel. older, very popular books/series: enid blyton books perry mason, chronicles of narnia, james bond novels, sweet valley high series, nancy drew books, babysitters club, hardy boys, |
pelezico:i think the idea of having the HIV+ child is to teach children acceptance & non-discrimination. with this attitude you might be teaching your kids the opposite. @ topic, i think sesame street is a good idea, though NTA may not be the best station for it because it's not really appealing to kids. Hopefully the program would make enough of an impact to encourage kids to watch NTA. i don't know what age the show is aimed at, but i think this can only be good for the really young kids (2-6). sesame street would be too boring for older kids (7+), because nigerian children seem to be hooked on adult programs. apparently, mexican soap operas are a hot topic among primary and secondary school kids. and the type of children's programmes that they enjoy are the sci-fi, action or adventure kind or the disney teenage ones. |
ragdollz: @OP, don't marry him because you're 30, no need to waste the rest of your youth fretting over a guy you know has nothing to offer you & your baby. |
i know! a relative of mine was complaining bitterly about her son's girlfriend sleeping over in their house, saying the girl has no home training. i thought it was ironic that she didn't see her son's complicity in the matter. i don't feel like i'm under a lot of pressure, maybe it's because i don't have any brothers to compare with. my parents never gave me any sex-ed talk, i think they just assume that i know what is right and would do it. but then i've been particularly compliant and level headed all my life, so it's taken for granted that i would 'behave'. mcnepow:not with nigerian parents, we feel the educational pressure as much as guys do. i know more guys who play with their education than girls |
Goldieluks:this only depends on who's doing the praying. regardless of how hard a woman prays, it's up to the man to resist the temptation to cheat. the OP made it sound like resisting the impulse to cheat is impossible for men, like they don't even have a prayer. every sane man is responsible for his actions, it's not a genetic disease. learning to control our impulses is a normal part of development, it would be a very chaotic world if we all gave in to our whims and fancies. and for the christian men, self-control is one of the fruits of the spirit. |
what's wrong with them? i can understand the fakery of push ups, but there's nothing wrong with padded bras. and even the push ups, i think the reason for wearing them is more of visual stimulation than deceit.
