I had an accident two weeks ago and a glass injured my face leaving me with a great cut.But I thank God my left eye was unhurt. The pix below shows my injured face 2 weeks ago.Its closing up now but I know it will give me a scar so I need your advice. Thanks

Go to a hospital that has a maxillofacial surgeon or plastic surgeon. Preferably a teaching hospital. You should have had it sutured immediately.

It can be made a lot better.
Politics / Re: On The Gang Up Between The North And South West. by Gliding(m): 5:58pm On Apr 04, 2015
san316:
I have observed with great dismay, certain insinuations that the outcome of the just concluded election was a result of a conspiracy between the North and the Yorubas to wrestle power from a minority in the SS. It was also claimed that the results reflected religious and regional bias as against performance. Expectedly, this vein assertions are coming mainly from the SS and SE, a region that perpetuated the worst electoral malpractice in the country.

In my opinion, I think it is the height of hypocrisy and an unnecessary attempt to fan the embers of division and mutual suspicion among the good people of Nigeria. I will marshal my reasons in the foregoing;

1. THE 2011 ELECTION: Comparing the results of the 2011 and the 2015 election, we see a massive gap between the two candidates. GEJ got over 24m votes as against GMB who followed with 12m. These votes did not reflect votes from just SS / SE but all over Nigeria. GEJ won in Lagos and other SW states with wide margin. He won many states in the NC n won considerably large votes in the NW and NE. If there is a bias against the minority, that would not have happened. Many Muslims in borno, yobe, kano etc voted for GEJ against Buhari.

2.GEJ's ADMINISTRATION AND THE RESULTING DISCONTENT: Forward to the periods after elections, GEJ took decisions that hurt a lot of Nigerians and he didn't give a damn. Notable is the subsidy removal without any policy to cushion the impact. This is one of the factors that led to gej losing favor in the eyes of Nigerians. He decided to align with the rich and abandoned the poor. He showed a high level of incompetence and allowed corruption and bad people to throve in his government. These gave the opposition strong points against him during their campaigns. While GEJ's team was campaigning with unempirical data against apc, the evidence apc was giving agains GEJ were staring all Nigerians in the face.

3. THE BIRTH OF A STRONG OPPOSITION:
What attracted people to gej was his supposed luck. But his luck ran out when the formation of a grand alliance between major parties materialised. The aim of all political party is to take control of govt regardless of whether they are better or not. The APC was formed with ACN and CPC at the fore front. These two parties had their spheres of influence which is the north and SW. Now how is it a gang up when APGA, the SE party refused to join the alliance? Now this grand party was formed and were set to take power from the ruling party. What did the PDP do? They claimed they already have the structure so they cant be unseated. They underrated the opposition and got caught by surprise. Therefore, there was a gang up against PDP and not GEJ.

4. THE ROAD TO ELECTIONS AND CAMPAIGN STRATEGIES.: While the PDP was busy attacking personalities and sponsoring documentaries to damage the image of the APC stalwarts, the APC were going about their campaigns attacking the bad policies of PDP and telling the masses what they would do differently. Never was it mentioned in the APC campaign trail about religion or tribe. It was all about governance and Nigerians. When they wanted to bring fashola and GMB, the same pdp raised religious issues calling APC an islamist party. However, APC insisted on basing their processes on performance though they had to concede to the religious card due to political calculations.

Now note these;

I. PEJ called GMB dead brain and called northerners born troway without any statement from gej calling her to order. Would you as a northerner vote for such person? For me, it's a no no. Remember, Aisha Buhari noted that prostitution was a problem in the south, the whole SS was on fire that they wont vote gmb because she had insulted them.

II. Fayose went on rampage damaging GMB unencumbered. Remember, he categoricallhe SW and the NC where they both performed well.

In conclusion, those saying there was a gang up should explain why those ridiculous figures came from Delta and Rivers. Were they not bigoted as well? Finally, the election was decided based on performance because with the kind of campaign run by pdp, apc would not have won anything.

MY ADVISE: Let's. Come together and work for a better Nigeria. God Bless.
Nice analysis. I hope more and more people will be able to think critically, doing away with ethnoreligious sentiments. This same GEJ won overwhelmingly just 4 years ago amassing votes from all parts of the country. The SW and SS were in the front line fighting for his installment after the demise of Yar'Adua.

Maybe if they enter into an alliance with Niger Delta we might just see the birth of a new nation. That i think is the best way out.
I don't know what exactly the problem is. When the Yoruba's did not hold any of the juicy govt. positions in the past 5years, did it stop their states from developing?
Just because GEJ lost, (fairly in my opinion), we are already talking about marginalisation. The new govt has not even been formed.
Benue stated boasted of having the senate presidency in the past few years, did it stop the state from being underdeveloped? Or give the civil servants their unpaid salaries?

Nice reaction by the president. People should note however, that other voters have been getting accredited in that same polling unit. Why this has happened is still a misery and an embarrassment.
At my polling unit, there has been no such incidence with the PVC verification. There were a few problems with finger print identification, though this is being addressed bby use of incidence forms

There is no basis for comparism b/w d Niger delta militancy and d boko haram menace.
1.The Niger delta militants had a genuine grievance while up till now, nobody knows what d problem of Boko haram is.
2.The militants never deliberately targeted civilians while the boko haram insurgents have just gone on a killing spree since day one.

What I am saying is that both constitute a problem that we should approach with a united front. I believe you will agree that many olunnocent people are being killed, what matters to them is that this menace ends.

In the hay days of OPC, they killed and molested several people. None of them will appreciate it if you tell them that it is their fault that OPC did all those things and that they should blame their leaders. I am not going to go into the legitimacy or otherwise of their demands.

Obviously BH appear to have lost it completely. And just before I forget, this funding OPC received will come back to haunt us all I'd we are not careful. If it happens, then I guess we should blame the Yoruba elders

Buhari is not a phantom enemy. Buhari is a real enemy of Nigeria. Go outside Nigeria, Arabs and somalis shall taunt you today that they are coming to take take over Nigeria. They believe Buhari shall win next election.

Buhari told Nigerian Army not to kill BH terrorists. He told Nigeria army that fighting BH terrorists is like fighting Buhari's north of Nigeria.

But then, the terrorists are killing Nigerians.

Buhari can never be a friend to straightforward and honest Nigerians and to Nigerians who are not Islamic extremists.

The problem I see here is our inability to deal with a so called rag tag army of BH boys. We should have edealt with them on time, get their sponsors with required evidence against them and prosecute them. But for a whole NA to be unable to rout them, when the Chadian forces can, I fail to.understand.

A typical example is this attack on Damasak. The Chadian army complained about the absence of our boys just last week and gen Olukolade said that the NA have occupied all areas that they reclaimed, only for this to happen. Shall we say that it was GMB that caused that?

I thank God some1 is reasoning well. The blame for all this wahala shld go to all past and present northern leaders including Buhari Cos d boko haram imbroglio is as a result of d refusal of their leaders to educate them.
The hausa/fulani elite have failed to developed and educate their people in spite of all d political and economic power they have hoarded since independence,so how can one think they will be in a hurry to develope Nigeria as a whole.

So, the problem we had in the Niger delta should have been blamed on their leaders. And in a few years time when OPC starts terrorizing in the west because of the funding theybnow have courtesy of our dear president, we should blame the Yoruba leaders and allow them to steam in their own problem while the rest of the country carries on. Well done

Do you really believe what you wrote?? The dead bodies must also be sleeping but pretending to be dead then. This is similar to the way we had a false feeling of safety when our Niger delta brothers were being killed, we said it was their problem.

The twits below are from Joe penny of rueters who is embedded with the chadians.

It is incomprehensible that despite seeing all these evidence of our lackadaisical attitude to this fight, people still think that the problem is with a phantom enemy called GMB.

So if we decide to go the violent way, your guess is good as mine. We'll tear the country down cos we are are tribally and regionally different. And until we fix the fundamental issue where everyone gets productive, reduce power at the centre and make politics less attractive. .... a better Nigeria will only be in our dreams.

So yes, we must manage the ND menace for now until we fix the fundamental Nigerian structure.

If Buhari wins, just brace up cos thats the trigger.[/quote]

I will not pretend that GEJ has done nothing..but to say that he has done a lot, I think not. Besides, he has done more damage than good. The Niger delta militants truly have a lot of ammunitions and that is mostly because the present govt. allowed them to re_accumulate them after the first disarmament led by yar'ardua. Aside from that, we empowered them to buy more weapons by giving out the constitutional duty of the armed forces as contracts to militants.
I do not think that such a govt should be rewarded with continuity.
In addition, we have the issue of massive corruption that has been left to fester. Just as an example, Egypt is planning to build a whole new city east of Cairo for about 45billion dollars (this will include transportation, housing , power, etc) guess how much the yar'adua way from the Abuja airport alone cost.
Why can't another government implement the confab report? Must it be this govt?

Flets:
If by chance Buhari wins this election, extremely hard times lies ahead for this country.

Definitely, the creeks will go haywire again, Buhari will send the troops to the creeks and together they will set the oil facilities ablaze.

While these persists, the oil producing companies will simply withdraw their personnel from the volatile region and all foreign investment will seize in all sectors. And even if the troops kill 90% of the militants, it will take just one militant, a dynamite and just one location along the multi- kilometre trunklines to continue to wreck havoc.

Fast forwar

The entire world stands to benefit from a crisis in the Niger delta. Its not a coincidence that USA who abandoned us at the height of bokoharam is busy shouting for change in govt . Crises in the ND will reduce supply of crude to the Oil market and that would drive up the price of crude for producing countries.... But at Nigeria's expense.

Nigerians.... Be Warned!!!

You did not tell us to vote for GEJ because of the "massive" developmental projects he executed, rather you threatened us with violence if he loses.

With this reasoning, you are saying that we should vote for GEJ to keep the Niger delta quiet. So what happens when OPC or Arewa start their own wahala. Do we then vote for the most violent ethnic group each timr? In case you think they can't do much, OPC was just given a 9billion naira contract to protect our pipelines (so they have funds to purchase arms). They can ground the ports among other things....remember we are import dependent.

I think you did a nice unbiased evaluation. Though I believe GMB will win a number of the swing states, such as Adamawa and Gombe convincingly. The main deciding factor will be the voting strengths of the areas won by each candidate. This can be projected from the PVC distribution rate of each state.

This question evasion manoeuvre by most of our public officials. Gen. Olukolade refused to address the issues raised. Did the Chadian army call you? Did they ask you to come and occupy a recaptured town? Have you occupied the town?? If not, why?
Instead, he is telling us how they have occupied the towns they'Nigerian army' captured.

I don't think you should be worried. I guess that most of the people that gave a contrary advise are not married. Babies at that age remember nothing about that when they grow up. Why not search online for established facts on this issue. Besides, making sure the baby is asleep and will not wake up during the act will kill all elements of spontaneity in your love life, that in turn may lead to boredom and both of you may start missing the days when you were adventurous.
