Remember, the agents will already be on ground to have noticed that the reader is defaulted, the Presiding officer and his assistants have no knowledge on how to configure these card readers, the EO and other executives will be too busy, moving around, typical election day situation on ground, everyone is busy, its a simple reality sir, besides, who will have the time to start transferring a supposedly encrypted data? That is not even in the possession of the low level-reachable electoral officers?
You raised valid points. The success of it all depends a lot on the INEC staff and how up to the task they are. However, it is my belief that we will have far more credible elections using the card readers than otherwise

These things will happen, we can only hope that it doesn't happen on a large scale.

I promised to continue in exposing these evil men and their plans. Jonathan has proven to Obama that he is nobody's puppet. USA and Britain wanted him to legalize same-sex marriage but he refused, they threatened to sanction NIGERIA. next Obama planned to spread to Ebola using the man from Liberia, he wanted Ebola to spread through out Nigeria so that Jonathan would have to sign the bill in exchange get cure for Ebola. But GOD intervened and his planned failed. next USA and British refused to sell arms to Nigerian to fight Boko haram. now their plan is to frustrate Jonathan because he refused to do their bidding and then support BUHARI who will be their puppet and legalize gay marriage... Nigerian Beware.. Do not be deceived by these evil men's false promises. They have evil plans, but GOD will disgrace them.

if after campaigning and supporting him and thereafter buhari wins in the dreamland, tell me what will make buhari not sign the bill?.

Do you really think that GMB, the so called fanatic whose opponents always characterize as a hard liner will actually endorse this?

It doesn't work that way sir, every card reader is programmed for its corresponding unit. If it develops a fault, a reader for another unit can not work, except it is re-programmed.
Okay. I didn't see the "Reprogrammed" initially. So the only issue will be to reprogramme it, which should not be too difficult.

But INEC claim that it can be replaced. I think the card readers can be configured to work for any polling unit so long as you have imputed the data for that unit on it. Its akin to the way you can easily transfer your contacts from one phone to another now.

Jega shouldn't stop @telling us the advantages of this machine but also it's possible disadvantage.. we don't want a situation where the card reader will shutdown pending on its usage.... how durable it is, can it work effectively thru out the day?.. I remembered how my Tecno phone got spoiled via long talk on phone. twas very hot and before I know it went off and that was the end of that phone.. I would prefer they test run it b4 using it in the election.. we don't want to hear any story ooh
There are many card readers. Thus , a malfunctioning one can be easily replaced. If you had several techno phones at that time, you would have simply removed your sim and put it in another. Shikena

The (only) was added by me because 90% is a very low number. It's not acceptable for up to 10% of the electorate to be disenfranchised.
In the event that it fails in the paltry 10%, there are other card readers that can be brought in to replace the failed ones. Or are they irreplaceable?

Again like always, people will cast aspersions on her character, they will even allege that she has been bribed just because they have willfully blinded themselves. They see but can not perceive.

Pray tell, what shall we all gain if the military returns and drags Nigeria back into the abyss of ignominy she has been fighting so hard to rid herself of.

Sadly, most of us have no direct benefit from either the incumbent or the aspiring. Most are pawns that can be sacrificed inconsequentially. Support whoever you wish for genuine reasons and not just sentiments.

This is Nigeria for you, a place where people walk on their heads and think with their feet.

Someone threatens Nigeria with war if Jonathan is not re-elected, and even goes on to buy warships and import arms from SA, and such a guy is applauded. Someone warns of the dangers in the reckless use of presidential powers and cautions if it goes on unabated, it might create a fertile ground for a military takeover and the person is accused of treason!!!

So unfortunate we have to share thesame space with these vacuous nonentities.

It is worrisome that people will make such statements in support of the present govt. And these people will still complain that Nigeria is not getting better. To cap it all, he got 16 likes. I really wonder what is wrong with us.
Politics / Re: Here Is A 1959 Cambridge School (WAEC) Certificate by Gliding(m): 7:59pm On Jan 22, 2015
babadee1:
The original 1961 certificate was lost. Many people who finished school decades after Buhari have lost their original certificates.
When you lose your original certificate you can apply to your school for a statement of results which will be issued on current letterhead paper according to current guidelines. The photo on the statement of results is recent because it is required by the school for a new statement of result to be issued. This statement of result was issued yesterday January 21, 2015 not in 1961.

I hope this has helped those people still confused by this recent development.

Nice concise reply. I don't want to believe that people really do not know these things. Let's hope that they are just being mischievous, otherwise naijja has a long way to go oooo.

Politics / Re: WAEC Distances Itself From Buhari’s Result Released By Govt. College Kastina by Gliding(m): 5:44pm On Jan 22, 2015
hardbody:

Bros no vex, did you see the result? what i saw in the paper this morning has these features

Ministry of Education Katsina State (there was no such state when Buhari went to school, if he actually did)
May/June 20...1961
School: Government College (PILOT) KATSINA
Class....6....
Center No....8280
Exam No. 002
Result was dated 21/01/2015

Titled Statement of Result (SSCE/WASSCE/NECO EXAMINATION

Buhari said he wrote Cambridge examinations. That was in 1961. Now how does the 1961 examination tally with this Toronto print out that has been stamped by his kinsman just to provide him a soft landing?

Let him contest and win but the fact remains that he has been exposed for the iliterate that 'he was' before he started going to school.
The result was printed on the 21st, hence the date on it. , it was printed in katsina state on the 21st of Jan 2015, hence the date and katsina being the state. Did you see the main print out that had the names if other candidates including shehu musa yar'adua? If you did, the result from there was simply transcribed into the new school result sheet(just like what would be done if it was a letter headed paper).
Do you really think that such an obvious "forgery" will be made at this stage and FG will let it go?

What is in this news?

They said only Buhari can request for his certificate. Why would he need to when he already has one from his school?
Kudos for reading the post and responding appropriately. It is either some people did not read it or they are simply being naughty. The op should also realize that the headline is misleading.

Your question does not address my point about Okupe denying knowledge of the signed code of conduct. He's a liar or just clueless like GEJ.

To address your question, the President is supposed to lead by example since he has allowed PDP to agree to the code of conduct. The argument they're making now should have been the reason not to sign the code of conduct in the first place and the electoral act should have been amended to specify to what extent an incumbent can use state resources for electoral campaign.

Finally, what the governors do does not give the President the moral right to break the law. He's supposed to call them to order. But GEJ is leading them to break the law this one.

Or are you saying the Governorship of Lagos is equivalent to the Presidency? So if Lagos and US allegedly do it, GEJ can do it? grin

Nigeria na lawless country. Sai Buhari.

Brilliant. I just had to commend you.

The plain truth is that Nigerians deserve a lot better than this. One thing that we lack as a people is excellence. Question is , can we afford the best?. If we can, then why not.

See this one. You mean you cannot tell a passenger train from a cargo train? You need to see passengers through windows to know which is which? Kai.... smiley Anyway, I don't blame you. It is all those years of not seeing trains in Naija until Jonathan came along that has made you a train illiterate.
Some of them are passenger trains, however you should note that quite a number are electric trains. Check the cable connection on top of the trains. Its not by chance that you have power lines around. The one from sri Lanka though is locomotive. But sri Lanka doesn't look like a country we should envy

From what I understand of Yoruba, if he was referring to APC he would have said - APC tiyin ti jona tan. Not "tiwon'. The latter refers to a third party.

That aside, this campaign should be based on issues, not on each contestant's ability to rain curses on the other.
