tojahh: 😂 This your analysis look more like Oluwole. 1. Big Daddy look more luxurious no doubt
2. If them give me both, definitely my choice depends on yardsticks... Like Pope, I will choose profit over luxury given all facts. Maintenance and what they're both meant for. As we agree they're tool for work, I won't be taking recognition of pulling up in a Pax house so they can smile at my car. Pax wey no go stay pass 4hrs max inside the car? Whatever place your luxury will take you to, the 04 will do same.
3. Resale value is even a shot on the big Daddy's leg. After 4 years I buy my Civic 2.5m you buy your luxury 4m. You will sell at 3.5-4m while I sell at 2-2.5m. Nobody loses at any end. Nowadays ... Resale value na for people wey buy their cars from 2013 - 2022. Na them go see real value after sales.
But not taking away the need to appear recent in a long vehicle to onlookers after all, all na whyning na who panic lose Koburu. Much respect, sir. |

ksmart027: There is nothing luxurious about big daddy, the car is just bland and spacious that's all, that why is called big for nothing , here in rivers state, it's mainly used in transporting kpofire( illegal refined crude) due to spacious trunk. Anyway as the say, every mallam to his kettle. No offense meant baba. Yeah. It even looks less attractive self, agreed. But between 04 civic and 04 big daddy, which one looks more luxurious? If dem give you both to pick one, which one you go pick? Oya, resale value nkó? Which one would go bring more money to you when you want to sell both and which would go first? Much respect, sir. |

pope191: The last car I’ll use for this hustle is big daddy. There’s a reason they call it big for nothing. I have both Hyundai and 08 civic. The Hyundai is a sweet ride, but won’t leave profit for luxury. I no come count bridge for Lagos. I use the 08 civic once in awhile, but went back to the 04. 08 seems to consume less gas, but can never match the strength of 04. I fix my 04 by myself. The car know me and I know the car. When you car becomes your best friend is one of the best gift.
Initially I thought I’ll have issues with riders due to the size, I realized having the best car without AC is a recipe for insults from riders. Keep your car clean and ac pumping? Then you are good to go. Lot of Toyota peeps that are stuck right now and find it hard to fix car. Engine 1 million nah play? I fit get the luxury and profit in one, baba. I guess the reason you dey reject Big Daddy na the engine cost. And dem Don dey call am big for nothing since when its engine was less than 300k self, so, dat one no even beat am. Yeah, I consider exterior and interior luxuries, the reason I no fit hold 4m for hand and go for civic 04. When I pull up in front of riders, I need that nice appreciation facial expressions from them. Enter my car and appreciate the interior, even if u no talk am out. And when I just go out, or to an event, make I feel myself small wth my big daddy. I just feel say person wey get 4m for hand should be able to get himself something that would give him a lil sense of class as an Uber driver, and big daddy go give you that + the profit that's the major. Some people with shinkini maintenance responsibilities self dey find it hard to sort themselves, so, wetin we come dey talk? If your tool be the one wey im parts are lil bit pricey, you go dey serious with your tool and hustle. Well, I dey talk based on say if na me ni sha. Much respect, boss. 🙌 |

ksmart027: Baba dey production date of those cars started from 2000 and ended in 2005, that's why it might look old, but trust me is the best for this hustle. I having been using mine for almost five years, i onced have the 2006 model, but i choose to retain this one due to the rugedity and fuel consumption .The big daddy you are referring to is also a old car because production date started from 2002 and ended 2007, in a developed country, all these cars we use here wouldn't be accepted on e hailing platforms. The parts of that Civic is still cheaper than the Corolla or big daddy. Pope mentioned the engine is 280k compared to Corolla which is almost a million. Much respect baba. I agree to the prices of the parts. The civic parts are way cheaper. But my annoyance na the price tag from the screenshot you posted. They're overpriced nahhh. Well, na profit be the koko sha. Much respect, sir. |

ksmart027: Is not up to that bro, these are the prices on jiji, unless you are referring to tokunbo. I would rather go for a big daddy without thinking twice, instead of going for these archaic cars that look like ancient rides all in the name of trying to invest small capital to recoup in short time. I can't go for these types if I had 4m for hand. These cars you screenshot no suppose dey expensive like that, wetin dey do the sellers of those cars nah? They're overpriced, abeg. Much respect, sir. |

pope191: If you ask me? Tell him to remove the money from the steering pump and rack from the money you were supposed to pay him and go fix it yourself. The fact that the steering work while leaving his domain, does not mean it will work after a week. Also check if the car have any traffic or expire papers offense with Lagos state. I think the seller has already considered the steering issues before wanting to sell the car for that price. On a norms, the car is worth more than that if that steering issues no dey there. Abi? Much respect, sir. |

sunnymighty: A new rewire detect this gauge as the fault, he said 15k. By the way my Car is Toyota Camry Big Daddy. Yeah. That's the chip/panel that's responsible for the fuel gauge reading. But damn! So that thing don cost like this? Well, I'm not surprised sha cos everything in the country don skyrocket. But still, it's too much. E no suppose pass 10k max at worst. But you know these rewire guys, dem know their cunning ways. Price am small but make sure say na him go buy am and fix, cos they panel dey get number/code that has to work on your fuel pump. Much respect, sir. |

sunnymighty: Go for Toks if you must. My candid advice! My rewire said fog light can't be used on this. I was thinking it's something that they would just cut the shape out of that portion on the bumper. He said no. That if they cut the shape out, it would disfigure the bumper. Abeg is it true? He said those ones I see were custom-made, that they came with the bumpers like that. Thank God say I neva buy the fog lights yet. Much respect, sir.

reminder!!! Always confirm destination area to your rider before driving off the pick-up point. 👂 Picked a rider from Charlie Boy, Gbagada, going to VI @N4,900, 26 mins drive. Just to leave that spot, I drove not up to 100m and confirmed to her that this destination is in VI... Omoh, she said no oooh. That it's Ilupeju she's going. Omoh, inside my mind, I was like WTF! This is my first trip nah. And she was so specific with the address street name in VI ooh. She suggested canceling and re-order, I told her if we cancel or not, indrive already removed their commission from my account the very moment I 'picked' her order and she accepted. She asked how much, told her they removed 850 for that trip already, she then re-order and it showed 1.7k on the app. Omoh, I vex say which kind mumu thing be this on my 1st trip. I just take am like that and took her to Ilupeju and she paid 2.6k. I just accepted my fate like that.
Much respect, bosses. |
