nnamdi1993: Correct me if am wrong, first class-excellent,2.1-above average, 2.2-average,3rd class-below average, den we have pass. I am a 2.2 graduate from a federal university in nigeria. I graduated with a 3.46.if result was to be given according to how serious one was in school,i would have made a first class. The way most companies see us,like all of us 2.2 graduates just went to school to play which is a lie.
Yes most people go to school to play, even 2.1 graduates to but the 2.1 done cover them up.while i was in secondary school,i was the top of my class, but when i enter university and started seeing some of my results,it seemed to me as if i was dumb if not that in my 3rd year and final year i had very high cgp's.i worked very hard to make it up but no way. A friend i met in 3rd year which before we met he wasnt on a 2.1 finished with a 2:1.i could remember vivdly well in my 2nd year,we did matrixes as a course. A friend of mine came to seat with me because he was scared of the course,i helped him that day to the point that i knew all the six questions while we were to ans five,i did my five and solved the last one for him on my question paper so he would copy four from me and write the one i solved. To my surprise the result came.i had an E in a 3unit course he had a 8. I wasnt happy so i went to meet my adviser,he told me point blank not to pursue it but if i insist,i would pay 5k and still wait one year for the remarking. So i just took his advice because i no fit get money to eat talkless of five k. I had 3 A's and some Bs that when a friend saw my result,i saw my gp, he was pissed of. I know what it takes to come out with a first class or a 2.1 and i say kudos to them but i have seen people in my department who hardly come to school, all they do is school politics and at the end bought 2:1 from my adviser for 250k. I too had that link to buy, but where i go get that kind money from. My friend who came out with a 2,1 knows that i am even capable of a first class but certain circumstances would allow it. God factor also goes along way because if by jacking and seriousness alone, many of us would have made first class.
There is a saying 'na who pass know book'.thats the nigerian mentality but its a wrong one. To all 2;2 graduates out there, dont feel bad when you see job adverts saying 2:1 minimim, God would bless you when its your time. Olajumoke no get degree but God help am. Be patience e never reach your turn yet. To all 2.1 graduates, kudos e no easy at all. Una time go still cum.3rd class no worry blessing go come one day. To employers. Give all of us a platform to try our luck then pursue us if we fail rather than tagging us failures before we even try.2.1 or 2:2, i know am good b wasnt lucky. Where is that op that claimed that polythecnic students buy results? |

tinsel: One thing is clear in all these. Saraki, Dino and a whole lot of senators will not contest under APC in 2019. They will not give them the platform. Maybe they will find space in PDP. That is if PDP still exists by 2019. Even if PDP is dead by 2019, APC has lost the presidential race. We are ready to vote for any new party rather than APC that can't cure any headache. |

Ayatullah: THE TRUTH is that 'Thisday' Newspaper did a one sided story lacking investigative journalism.
Another TRUTH is that the Catholic Church is not new in the area so also is the Mosque Ground where the alleged attackers came from.
Another TRUTH is that the Catholic Church should have known that Friday is a serious Prayer Day for the Muslims who pray in peace in their thousands led solemnly by one Imam and need no disturbance.
Another TRUTH is that the Muslims despite praying in their thousands outside does not generate any disturbing noise.
Another TRUTH is that Christians so much love the microphone and loudspeakers that they make so much noise even when they are gathered in very few number.
The final TRUTH is that the Christians must have made a disturbing, loudspeakers assisted noise full of heresies while the Muslims were praying which must have led to the Catholic Church being raided by the Brave Muslims.
(I expect a ban for saying the truth) The family mosque adjacent to my home uses loudspeakers and so do all other masjid abi mosques. Here in Lagos, Muslims spend the day in mosques while Sunday service is on and keep on chanting in the loudspeakers just to distract Christians but nobody cares. Did you call them "brave Muslims ?"They are brave indeed because they are doing the bidding of Mohammed and you won't get a ban on this because both Seun and Lala appear to be Muslims. obialinaeze: The Hadith:
1. Hadith 1:13-- " I have been ordered by Allah to fight with people till
they bear testimony to the fact that there is no God but Allah."
2. Hadith 1.24 "Narrated Ibn `Umar: Allah's Apostle said: "I have been
ordered (by Allah) to fight against the people until they testify that
none has the right to be worshipped but Allah and that Muhammad
is Allah's Apostle, and offer the prayers"
3. Hadith 1.25"Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle was asked,
" What is the best deed ?" He replied, "To believe in Allah and His
Apostle (Muhammad). The questioner then asked, "What is the next
(in goodness)? He replied, " To participate in Jihad (religious
fighting ) in Allah's Cause."
4. Hadith 19:4294 " Fight against those who disbelieve in Allah. Make a
holy war ."
5. Hadith 1:35 "The person who participates in Allah's cause (namely,
in battle). . will be recompensed by Allah either with reward or booty
or will be admitted to Paradise ."
6. Hadith 9:4 " Wherever you find infidels kill them; for whoever kills
them shall have reward on the Day of Resurrection ."
7. Hadith 9:50, 57 "No Umma (a member of Muslim community)
should be killed for killing a Kafir (an infidel). . Whoever changes his
Islamic religion, kill him ."
8. Sahih Muslim 4363: "You (the Jews) should know that the earth
belongs to Allah and His Apostle and I wish to expel you from this
land (Arabia)
9. Sahih Muslim 4366 Narrated by Umar ibn al-Khattab. Umar heard
the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: I will expel the
Jews and Christians from the Arabian Peninsula and will not leave
any but Muslims |

BetaThings: Why did bishop Oyedepo slap in his church?
Tell us about Christian fundamentalism Go and read the mission statement of Pastor Bakare's church Give us Bakare's mission statement here and let's diagnose it here. As for Oyedepo, he slapped (as alleged by you ) but did not kill. Even as that, he was wrong to have done that. After all, Christ restored the ear cut off by one of disciples even in the face of death. |

BetaThings: Nobody is defending and making excuses But there is so much propaganda these days
It has to be condemned if true but somehow I don't think I am reading all the facts No matter what you have been led to believe, it had better not be true because it is very very dangerous
When Assembles of God Church members fought themselves and even mistakenly threw stones at Muslims in Saminaka last week without any provocation, did you recognise the deed as peaceful or was it a claim? http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/07/20-injured-houses-razed-assemblies-god-factions-clash-kaduna/
There is no one who is sane that will not condemn what happened in France yesterday But this story is strange
Let me remind you that Muslims in UI mosque were once the victims of a blasphemous act by a Christian girl who dressed in hijab and joined the congregation and when prayer was on, and the entire mosque was quiet, started abusing Islam etc
Did you think those muslims would support what is being reported here? Do you think they would not consider it strange? These are few instances which you keep on repeating thread after thread as "theoretical evidences of Muslims being peaceful ". Those stones were not meant for the Muslims and you all know it. As for the UI girl, she went too far and acted in a provocative manner and was subsequently sanctioned by the school. She should thank her God that fatwa was not declared on her, though the imras and ulimas held several meetings because of that singular incident. Kudos to UI muslimas as at that time but if it were in ABU Zaria, she could not have survived it. Give us other instances please |

Maybe they were disturbing with noise but this could have been solved maturely with dialogue What are you saying? Here in Lagos, Muslims dress up and chant in their mosques on Sundays and nobody has challenged them. You people are just intolerant and feel unsecured in your religion. |

Agreed that those of us that attended poly was not by choice but we utilized every opportunity and read well. Sorting can done both in Uni or Poly, it is an individual thing and this sorting of a thing is a recent development in the educational sector (I may be wrong because I am not involved ).
I and most of my course mates passed each stage of ICAN at first attempts and qualified in 2 diets. Today we hold the prestigious title of FCA in addition to our HND as well as other educational qualifications. Most of us also have good job.
Although, I passed through poly unscathed, none of my kids will go to poly, not because they are not good enough but because of the descriminations against HND holders here and there.
It is better we face life squarely than this endless arguments about BSc/HND. The other day, it was 3rd Class BSc vs HND Distinction. Haba!
