osadestiny:Taofeek and asunmoGGMU have answered best. We need to change our behaviour, it is not helping the good and innocent at all. The look on foreigners face when you mention that you are a Nigerian here is downcasting many times. The conversation and reception just goes south. They become very suspicious if they are nice and polite. I was in a bus this week, the RTA official came in to check who did not swipe card. Two people in the bus did not swipe and they are both Nigerians. They were speaking our local dialect so I know. And they were still trying to claim right and outsmart the official. Everyone was just looking at them like they fell from outside space. One other guy, I suppose he's a Nigerian left the bus either in disgust or fear. Because police can come and maybe carry all the black guys there. I was really ashamed for them. Their likes are everywhere trying to outsmart others in criminality and it doesn't help the innocent ones. We are tagged together, no visa for Nigerian, Nigerian should not apply. You will see accommodation and job saying African nationality may apply except Nigerians. |
For what? |
We've done it again. My heart just dey pound gbam gbam as dem dey mention Nigeria for every sentence. To be fair though, the incident happened last year November but the news is yesterday.https://gulfnews.com/uae/crime/woman-who-lured-men-on-dating-app-in-dubai-dies-while-escaping-arrest-1.73163513 |
An Abacha FUNDS ![]() Thank you Grandmaster Abacha the chiefest lootologist dead. |
Baleeson:So she should have no dignity or decency because she wants to marry? |
debola33:The ideal thing is what the lady wants. If there is separation of property, it is better. I mean that they can move to a property owned by the mother. Nine times out of ten, it is best to manage your small room than stay with your parents in their house. |
OluwaLina1:She's right. |
osadestiny:Asides countries like Nigeria ,Yemen, Somalia, Libya, Bangladesh. Other countries we're and are successfully doing their visa renewals. It may only take time because of the rush. This is different from going to the same place with twice the money and being turned back once they hear Nigeria. Our government and embassy are doing nothing about it, our people somehow are arguing against it. Maybe because many Nigerians are of the wrong opinion that UAE needs Nigeria visa to survive and can't do without us or else their economy will collapse. |
chloride6:Many threads and straws hold a marriage together. God, money, love, children, prestige, position, religion etc are part of what ties a marriage. |
osadestiny:Brother that is not exactly true. The only people who were rushing to do their visas were other nationalities. Any Nigerian going to Amer Centre is turned back from reception with "NO visa renewal for Nigerians". Most serious agencies said same too. Visa renewal was being done in a rush for other nationalities though. |
BiggyB242:If Nigeria works normally, he would roast corn in Nigeria. What you should factor in is that that corn he is roasting as work in U.S. would come with opportunities of good and free education for his children, quality health care, water and fire services, a decent home, Internet and access to the latest technologies, and probably a chance of citizenship for him and his family. The man selling corn may actually be sending money to his whole village and have mansions in Nigeria built from his sale of roasted corn. Now compare that to the women who sell sweeter roasted corn in Nigeria. |
NIGHTLIFE100:Your sin is hereby forgived. Go and sin no more. |
Jealousy. The jealous witches in Nigeria are very happy to hear this. That's all I see in the responses. In normal places, even a foreigner running to your consulate or embassy, you will have some level of responsibility for them. But some Nigerians are in trouble due to the global pandemic situation and what Nigerians at home are saying is "who send you". Yet they are very religious people. Your actions are what witchcraft does. It is not until you fly at night. Some other countries are subsidising cost and even giving some free flights. Our own is doing business with its citizens. The one-way ticket for evacuation is almost double of a two way COMMERCIAL flights ticket. Nigeria is corrupt beyond redemption. |
NIGHTLIFE100:Isn't God wonderful? You saw a visa copy issued LAST week. Are this week Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday part of last week? I think we are talking about the present not the past. Why didn't you show us pinchure of your last week visa by the way. You insisted that they are issuing visaS. Now you are giving this lame excuse that you saw ONE visa not visas. Always confirm information before labelling others unfairly and causing confusion. |
Donbern:Lol, talk is cheap na. Maybe he's living in a bubble with Pakistanis. Update. My source tells me it(visa change for Nigerians) would open tomorrow at price and security deposit totalling more than double the former price. Brace up folks, winter is coming. |
Donbern:This is diplomacy at play. I think the issue in contention is about Nigerians IN UAE that can't RENEW their visas like other countries or cannot change from tourist to residents or employment visa simply because of their passport saying that they are Nigerians. This letter address people IN Nigeria, not the thousands trapped currently in UAE who will face overstay fine and become illegal immigrants from 10th August. Immigration is not renewing visas for Nigerians at the moment. |
Sorry to say, some here are outright ridiculous. The information Ope gave is not untrue. Many people have tried to renew their visas to no avail. I still spoke with two reliable visa persons today and they confirmed no visa renewals for Nigerians. Of course there can not be official statements to back these up due to diplomacy but hanging Mr Ope for trying to inform people on the latest happenings is not okay. Good to hear one person got his employment visa. It's a good sign but it doesn't erase the fact that many travel agencies have been unable to renew Nigerian visas. They charge Nigerian visas highest so I'm sure they are not joking too. |
glowingflame7:That reminds me. There's currently no renewal of visas for Nigerians. Make una come dey trek go house. Ile lo sure juu ![]() |
glowingflame7:Someone just liked this my post so I need to update it here and there for accuracy. If you are in the country, you have one month to renew your document. Residents and GCC citizens who spent less than six months outside the country will also be given one month for renewal. One month that expires on August 10. You need to be out of the country or renew your visa to avoid over 3000aed overstay fine and counting. |
Tourists on visit visas have about 13 more days to leave the country, renew their visas or face overstay fines counting from July 12. First day fine is 300aed, subsequent days are 100aed per day. |
See the place like supermarket for Sharjah. Se escalator na airport? |
Or you can go home and restrategize. Nothing wrong with traveling home. i don't know but someone said people are going home free, I can't confirm that though. I think it is difficult to get a job at this time. Maybe later sha. |
This is a sackable statement. Reckless incompetence. Why not resign? |
kwentoa23:Most likely. Eye dey red currently for government. |
The validity of visas and entry permits that was extended until the end of December this year has been cancelled. Identity cards that expired on March 1, which were previously considered valid until the end of the year, will now be deemed invalid. If you are in the country, you have ONE month to renew your document. Residents and GCC citizens who spent less than six months outside the country will also be given one month for renewal. |
Akunna25:It's quite expensive, but you'll need an Emirates ID anyway. All two questions can be done by proxy. That is by using or partnering with someone who is eligible. |
seyisanya:Monday 7th |
Stewart883:This are very wise words. It's not like jobs are available everywhere on the road. The ones inside are still trying to get themselves. |
etrange:Exactly. If someone dies, they usually take phone from the immediate family members. It's not them that will be picking every call. But if a message came in from the state government then they call, that's clear. It's not just every harry is calling and claiming government. |
ajbf:You don't defend a wrong with another wrong. The state government has no excuse. They did not contact the family on time. It should be same day. If he was buried same day, it should be a state burial and even people from other states will come. |
ajbf:She has a point. Her husband worked in the state for 8years. Whether good or bad. If you work in a place for 8years. If you die, courtesy demands that the company commiserate with the family. Not to mention a former state governor which the state government is treating as an afterthought. I don't like Ajimobi but what is not right is not right. Like the woman said, we are all going to die some day. |
tonididdy:Now you're sounding like you're missing the point. My point is clear which you mentioned earlier. " 'Nigeria' do not constitute a greater proportion of the tourist ratings". Maybe you should carry out research on the meaning of "for instance". Anyway, you guys are free to believe what you want. All these rigmarole don't put or remove money from my pocket. Hold on tightly to your mindset, it doesn't promote or demote me. Peace |
