It is unfortunate that the president's aides, advisers and handlers play childish politics all through his tenure. You don't have to play hide and seek. Govern sir. Govern. Governance is not about teasing wailers or opposition. You don't need to wait for rumours to run rife or escalate before posting pictures. Governance is daily and effective. Where's Osinbajo too, at least he can represent. Jacob Zuma has very poor grammar but he wasn't hiding as president. If Buhari is more convenient with Hausa, go ahead. Let Osinbajo help with the grammar. They can be a great team, instead of these consistent embarrassment of leadership. |
That might just be his most important contribution to the Senate. |
Rexnegro:Go ahead, but it's better if we can all learn here and my bosses can also contribute. |
CowbellY:Eeyah, but your friend should have rescheduled flight and left on Saturday and Sunday when everyone was rushing out. Let's hope he doesn't get stranded, because even people with 2years visa are getting stranded at the moment. Let's be positive and hope sha. |
Our presido. No oh, Mr President must be well ni. |
Magdagascariens:Rape victims do report and go public sha. If you are talking UAE enquiries, let's stay factual not one sided or biased. There's the good, the bad and the ugly in UAE and that has been well emphasised. To state that only visa agents and those doing accommodation business have testimonies in UAE is an exaggeration. Also, nothing wrong legally making money or opportunity in any part of the world, including UAE. The subtle attempt to demonize such people is wrong. It is clearly stated on the forum that accommodation is very expensive in the UAE especially Dubai. All nationality/expat do survival of the fittest in that area. As usual, there are people who live large and in palatial conditions too, from all nationalities. And they are not necessarily criminals too. Many accommodation have some form of discrimination and will plainly tell you no Nigerian or no Africans allowed. Kabayan only etc. Even some, you yourself will rather not live there because everything and everyone is just totally different from you. This problem has presented opportunity to some. Someone, a Nigerian or African like you will look for big money, even with your money, some property will tell you no space. Only Indians allowed etc. So you look for money, sometimes have to pay 6months or 3months, sign agreements, have cheque book, commit your Emirates ID, furnish the place, pay municipality, property agent, deposit and some other fees, furnish the place, put microwave, fridge, WiFi, settle Dewa, buy mattresses etc. After these, they invited you to come pay for bedspace, then you are feeling cheated? Talk is cheap oga. And for visa agents, I'll say it is a legal business opportunity too. You cannot get a visa without a sponsor. That's from the government, that's their style. Your sponsor is like your guarantor, your referee. It's a law that applies to all nationalities except countries with visa on arrival option like Americans. If you are a Nigerian, you choose your visa agent. Your visa agent may be Etihad or Emirates or Zenith bank or Mr. Chidi or an Indian or Egyptian or philippino or whoever. Your agent is not there to lose, he's not Jesus who gave his life. Agents like your airlines and banks will have you drop around $1000 as guarantee before touching your file. If you have this and prefer this agent, good for you. The other option is Mr Chidi, and Mr. Musa and Mr. Tunde or Mr. Foreign visa agent. Anybody that will risk being your sponsor will also get ready for fines and punishment if you defaulted. Nothing illegal or demonic about it, it's business. If a Nigerian don't do it. Many other nationalities are ready and willing to do same. What we should decry is a thief, a fraud, someone that will collect over 1million and do 3months visa, someone that will collect money for visa and disappear. That's wrong in all levels. Back to the matter, they are not the only one with testimonies. I have an uncle in the US who can't come home. He's not doing too well. I guess we all have someone like that too. The point made is that problem is not local. We have Nigerians making it all over the world, and vice versa. I know Nigerians in the UAE who don't do accommodation or visa work. I know Nigerians who are into business, importing and exporting, cargo business, lecturer, nurse, hotel and hospitality, food, oil and gas, event management, security, sales and marketing, accounting, driver, engineering, etc. I know some that live in hotel for months, I still know some that live from metro station to park benches. The summary of it is that proper preparation preceeds proper performance. And vice versa. You also need an element of luck or divine favour and tenacity many times. Without these, don't waste money coming. I once looked for work for 2years in Nigeria without finding. I'm sure there are many here with worse experience. It is not the end of the world or scam if you looked for work in a foreign country and didn't find. I found work within a month of being in the UAE. Others have found in a week. It doesn't always work like that. Some found near 4th month, some after visa changes, some didn't find. Different strokes for different folks. |
Rexnegro:Your visa is temporarily suspended, not permanent. |
Serious. IDRIS92 and others should take note. It's a temporary ban though, due to the coronavirus not your agent or whatever oh
|
osadestiny:Why are you people like this? All visit visas cancelled for now. Everyone should just stay home and pray or something for now. Don't waste money or gamble for now. Even the job who want to come and chase, HRs don't know what to do with their current staff because all business is affected. We're talking life, you're talking expo. It seems Nigerians think it's all a joke or conspiracy. No going to mosques or church or school. I don't think there's anything more important than that in the GCC. Again, read this clearly. All visas are cancelled for those abroad from today (March 17). All visas issued before today will also be cancelled - even new residency visas. Only those with existing residency visas can enter the country. |
If you are not in UAE and planning to come, do not come for now. All visas have been cancelled today due to the coronavirus situations. Don't waste flight tickets. |
Rexnegro:There's temporary suspension for issuance of all entry visas starting from 17th, except the person is holding a diplomatic passport. In other words, they'll stop issuing visit visas starting from 17th Tuesday. Those who have been issued visa before Tuesday are allowed. Visa is one thing, flight is another thing. Flights are still on going, at least Nigeria is not among the banned countries. Banned flights are to and from Turkey, Syria and Iraq. The situations are very dynamic at the moment.
|
Rexnegro:I'd advise you wait a little while until this corona thing comes down. Policies are flying and changing by the day. Currently flights are banned to and from some countries, it can reach any country turn tomorrow if corona is not abated. Also, I'm not sure companies are currently employing. Companies that are sending staff on compulsory leave. Gatherings are being discouraged, halls closed, schools closed, mosques and churches closed, flights postponed, events suspended till month end. It's advice sha because one thing I've come to realise is you can't stop someone who is bent on coming. You can at least hope with them. |
hardex10:If you can speak Hindi. |
Abeg oh, which one is yellow card they are sharing on social media again? How true is it? Is it mandatory for every traveller in Nigeria now? |
My oga that thinks NEBOSH is 500k, you just enter Dubai about one month you don become Mr Verification. Wetin certificate no go see for UAE, haba maana? My shisha will say "keep it up". |

kingxsamz:It's like steel is tested or clay or gold is tested/toughened in the fire. The known end result cones out as a result of the test. |
Is like asking why there is test or examination. Do teachers want us to fail? Or why is man born as a weak small baby in need of breast milk and immunisation? |
Arisukuni:Simply ask the HR for clarification before signing, they can't bite. But which kain company give 200aed for accommodation allowance, is it nest? |
Oshisko. They'll still budget, borrow and chop salaries for more. |
Visman:Normal account. Simply enable it for online banking. |
Celebrities just shut up pim for corona. Them no wan trend make corona no locate them. |
vickifeanyi47:Why are you waiting for agent to pick you up at the airport despite reading this thread? Definitely, you'll look for agent to look for work for you, buy food for you and look for accommodation for you etc. You expose yourself to being used that way. Asides visa, I don't really see why anyone needs agent after reading this thread. Knowledge is power. Dubai that everything is clearly written everywhere is where you are stranded. Bro be sharp and ask questions from different people around you. |
If I gave my dad 90k and my mom 10k. Somehow, he'll still end up giving it all to my mum, who will give the 100 back to me and my siblings. Love you both forever. |
Sober reflections. |
