Muslim-Muslim Ticket: The Consequence of Northern Christian Political Docility

The Tinubu-Shettima joint ticket, for me is not a mistake but a deliberate and calculated assault by Northern Muslims on their Christian folks. This may be a divine intervention to restructure Nigeria. The Northern Christians who have been buried politically on the pretext of promoting one North mantra needs to prove to the whole world that they as politically active, independent and strong if not stronger. Since Independence the Northern Christians have allowed their Muslim folks to ride rough shod over them giving them crumbs from the Nigerian socioeconomic and political table. Their docility and slavish mentality have given the impression that the entire North geographical space is Islam controlled and Muslim dominated to the extent that the Southerners see every Northerners as Muslim or Hausa-Fulani. Their inaction has rubbed off negatively on Southern Muslims as we have seen in the present Tinubu-Shettima imbroglio. The North ascribed all top positions to the Muslim thereby compelling the Southerners to apportion top positions to Christians in order to maintain cultural, religion and ethnic balance. All presidents from the North including military Heads of State are Muslims and reverse for all from the South. So for any Southern Muslim to emerge as the number one in this country his vice must be a Northern Christian. But the Northern Christian will just support their Muslim brothers at their own expense thinking as long as North have it, all is well. When Abiola did it, they didn't fight it and voted Abiola to victory. They ought to have resisted it. Now Tinubu is attempting to do same and they are crying wolf. Are they saying since they have sold their political rights to their Muslim folks, the Southern Muslims should do same and hand over their political rights to their Christian folks. We are not that dunce in the South, particularly South West. Tinubu-Shettima is irrevocable, the Northern Christian should vote enmass against it and make APC lose the election so that in the future these Northern entities who are politically self entitled should realise that their Christian folks matter significantly. But I will serve a note of warning here, if Tinubu-Shettima ticket should win the election the Northern Christian should kiss political relevance good by because we Southern Muslim, sic South West Muslim, will not lose slip over some people who accept to be dominated and enlaved in their land. We are also entitled to be president if they feel they are not entitled. In the South West, Muslims and Christians play politics on equal pedestal. It's in the North, South East and South -South that one religion dominate the other politically. Tinubu would not have coalesced to this joint ticket if the Northern Christian have carved a strong political presence. How can you expect a Tinubu who wants to win not to align with the political section that is sure to earn him victory. He knows no Northern Christian is politically stronger than any Northern Muslim. It's now that the Northern Christian must prove him wrong. I wish they do. Tinubu is my candidate, but to break the hegemony of the Northern Muslim political cabals, who see themselves as born to rule, I hope the Northern Christian engage in total and absolute protest vote. We did it in Lagos against SDP, that was how Otedola of NRC won. This is not about complaining and blowing hot, the Northern Muslim should make their vote counts because they are the ones that led us to this situation. They are so docile to the extent that the Southern Christians make them irrelevant even in CAN where they can't even become the President.
Politics / Re: Alleged Organ Trafficking: Ekweremadu, Wife Risk Long Jail Term If Convicted by GNBohr: 1:55pm On Jun 24, 2022
A lesson to learn from Ike Ekweremadu issue....

Nick Agule from UK wrote....

Ike Ekweremadu is obviously a powerful man. Spending his 20th year in the Senate of which 12 were as Deputy Senate President.

He could have used the time to get Nigeria a world-class kidney hospital but no! He didn't need kidney treatment so it was his least bother.

Things happen and his own child needed kidney treatment. As it is with President Buhari and everyone who has held office in Nigeria, Ekweremadu shamelessly took his daughter to the UK for treatment where he was going to be attended to by Nigerian nurses and doctors whom Ekweremadu and gang chased away with total neglect of the health sector.

But Ekweremadu did not go with his child alone, he took along a boy who was suffering hardship and pains from a Nigeria Ekweremadu helped to damage. Ekweremadu wanted to harvest this boy's kidney to save his own child. As fate will have it, tests performed on the boy showed his kidney was not a match for Ekweremadu's daughter.

Ekweremadu began to make arrangements to return the boy to Nigeria and obviously take another one to the UK. But the boy tasted and enjoyed the good life in the UK something Ekweremadu and his band of bad and failed leaders deprived him of in Nigeria. The boy saw electricity 24/7 (powered by gas from Nigeria), he did not need to start 'I better pass you generator' or he sleeps in darkness to the joy of mosquitoes. He saw how clean and beautiful the hospitals were different from the mortuaries will call hospitals in Nigeria and absolutely for free. He saw how efficient the metropolitan police were securing the neighbourhood and not the Nigerian police starved of funds by Ekweremadu and gang! The boy enjoyed rides on clean and efficient public transportation (buses, trams, light rail, underground tube, trains, boats etc) and not the okada, Keke and endless trekking in Nigeria. The boy was awed by the beautiful landscaped, trash free and green environment and not the filth he is used to in Nigeria. The boy saw food everywhere. He saw beautiful schools from nursery to reception to primary to secondary all the way to high school absolutely free. He saw that his dream of university education will be realised even if he has no money for fees and ASUU will not truncate his dream in the UK. The boy saw unemployed people paid benefits by Govt. The boy saw, enjoyed and liked the UK better than Ekweremadu's Nigeria!

The boy decided he was not going back to Nigeria damaged by Ekweremadu and gang! The boy ran to seek refuge from the metropolitan police. In Ekweremadu's Nigeria the police would have arrested the boy and dropped him in Kuje prison where for the next 10yrs he will still be on 'awaiting trial' roll. If the boy tried to talk he will be summarily executed and his body paraded as an armed robber gunned down by the 'gallant' police. Ekweremadu and his gang are above the law in a lawless Nigeria they have created.

Unfortunately for Ekweremadu, the UK is not Nigeria. He has exchanged his posh mansion in a highbrow neighbourhood in London for a police cell where he is being schooled in the act of rule of law something he is obviously lacking in his nearly 20yrs as a law maker.

Ekweremadu will have his day in court.

His victim will now enjoy life in the UK because it's easy to prove that if he returns to Nigeria Ekweremadu and his goons will go after him!

If Ekweremadu had done his bit to fix Nigeria, all this drama will not happen!

Ekweremadu and those like him who think they can do well when Nigeria is sick have just found out the bitter truth - no one will prosper better than Nigeria. If Nigeria fails, we fail with it!

In 2023 we have a unique opportunity to elect leaders who understand that our fate is tied to Nigeria's fate. We rise or fall together!

Go get your PVC today!

We wish Ekweremadu's child quick recovery hoping that now her case is public a donor will soon be found for her.

What goes around comes around.

Politics / Re: RCCG’s Dangerous Foray Into Politics For Osinbajo By Farooq Kperogi by GNBohr: 1:45pm On Mar 11, 2022
Kperogi to me has always been a rabble rouser. He has a way of exploding issues rather than extenuate them. There's nothing really wrong in a body, be it religious, cultural, professional, regional, tribal or social to seek to create a framework to support or canvass for one of their own. The critical issue is the agenda and scope. He mentioned the Salafists in the system as propagated by the Gumis but he failed to mention how that impacted negatively on Nigeria polity. Every group of people in modern society seeks to protect their interest and the way and manner that happens is subject to critical debate. However the right of RCCG or CAN or AHMADIYA or Council of Islamic Affairs to project themselves politically is undeniable and have been the practice as far as global politics is concerned.
What will be issue for me is for any of them to adopt a particular candidate as their consensus or choice in an election. These groups role ought to be purely advocacy for rights to vote and be voted for as well as free and fair elections. Anything outside that only cause catastrophe. I don't see how Salafists and RCCG will impose their choices on the electorate, in fact that singular act will not be in the best interest of the candidates so identified. In both Islam and Christianity, there's friction and compelling motion to superior religious practice and faith. The reason they try to compete, particularly amongst the Christian folks. In a religious sensitive country like ours, any candidate that push his religion as a front in his political strategy is only courting failure.

As regards Osinbajo, until he declare his interest I see him as one who is not convinced of his political pedigree and chances. He may end up declaring, may be after the APC convention. How RCCG, if Osinbajo eventually declare, will help him secure APC tickets elude me. One thing that can surely work for him is being a southern Christian and the North being majorly Muslim might want a Southern Christian and Northern Muslim ticket. But that's is not even a guarantee because there are plenty more politically grounded southern Christian in APC. Also, his political structure to win a Nigerian Presidential election is way beyond what RCCG can give him. He must project an image of a detribalised and non religious fundamentalist to break through political barriers. Time will tell.

It's not about 2000s kids. It's true the Oba of Benin don't visit people. You can read up on this in the official Edo website. This new Oba is just changing some ancient policies just like his father did. Don't be surprised when you see the obas teeth laughing which is also an abomination.

This is just to let people know that ancient practices no longer work if you want to be relevant. An Oba that locked himself up will be forgotten to the world.

Also to make you people realised he is a scion of the great Oranmiyan that history revisionists have tried so hard to deny.

Culture / Re: Ladoja Finally Affirms Lekan Balogun As Next Olubadan by GNBohr: 7:28am On Jan 16, 2022
MrImole:
Ladoja is next in line

THE MAKING OF AN OLUBADAN.

Every family and clan in Ibadanland has a Mogaji. Mogajis are family heads. They control the affairs of their family and ensure law and order. They are made Mogajis by the Olubadan after they have been so appointed and the family written to formally inform the Olubadan and the Council. In Ibadan, there are over 2,500 Mogajis or family heads at present. The installation ceremony of Mogajis is often performed at the palace of the Olubadan with pomp and fanfare. A Mogaji is a potential Olubadan in waiting if he eventually succeeds to join the ladder. It takes a whole lot for a Mogaji to become Jagun, the lowest rung of the Olubadan ladder, as there are competitions from other Mogajis.

To become Jagun, however, Baale Ayorinde said there are three things to consider. A prospective candidate could be from an historical Ibadan warrior family or having done valiantly to save the land in one form or another. The candidate might also have done something worthwhile for his community or Ibadanland as a whole, while his wealth, which he had used for the uplift of the downtrodden, could be another consideration.

When there is vacancy for the Jagun position, the Olubadan-in-council would consider the prospective candidates and hereby appoint one to the Olubadan line or another to the Balogun line, depending on where there is vacancy. The appointees would now become Jagun on either and or both lines. The promotions of such Jaguns are not, however, random, as they are promoted in a sequential and orderly procedure. Upon vacancy in any of the lines, the title holder of a lower rung is promoted to the next rung of the ladder. The Balogun line has 23 rungs while the Olubadan line has 22 rungs. The next Olubadan alternates between the Balogun and the Otun Olubadan.

The promotion in the line of Balogun follows this pattern: From Jagun – Ajia – Bada – Are-Onibon – Gbonnka – Aare Egbe Omo – Oota – Lagunna – Are-Ago – Ayingun – Asaju – Ikolaba – Aare-Alasa – Agba-Akin – Ekefa – Maye –Abese – Ekarun Balogun – Ekerin Balogun – Ashipa Balogun – Osi Balogun – Otun Balogun and eventually to Balogun. The journey from Jagun to Balogun will take a prospective candidate through a 23-rung ladder, and, having reached the top of the ladder, he becomes Balogun and would, therefore, wait for his turn to emerge the Olubadan of Ibadanland.

The promotion in the line of Olubadan follows the same pattern, but is 22 rungs : From Jagun – Ajia – Bada – Aare Onibon – Gbonnka – Aare-Egbe Omo – Oota – Lagunna – Are-Ago – Ayingun – Asaju – Ikolaba – Aare-Alasa – Agba-Akin – Ekefa – Maye – Abese – Ekarun Olubadan – Ekerin Olubadan – Ashipa Olubadan – Osi Olubadan and finally to Otun Olubadan. The nomenclature looks the same with that of Balogun, until when the prospective candidate finally gets to the Ekarun Olubadan. Upon emergence as the Otun Olubadan, the candidate is set to emerge the next Olubadan of Ibadan land on his turn.

Baale Ayorinde gave English meanings of some of the titles thus: Otun – second in command/Commander of the right wing; Osi – third in command/Commander of the left wing; Asipa – Leader of the Vanguard; Ekerin – Fourth in Command; Ekarun – Fifth in Command; Abese – Superintendent of foot soldiers; Maye – Stationary Veteran Soldiers; Ekefa – Sixth in command; Agba-Akin – Chief of the Brave; Aare-Alasa – Chief of the Squire; Ikolaba – Sango’s apron man; Asaaju – Front ranker (front liner); Ayingun – Official war wager; Aare-Ago – Overseer of Blood Relations; Laguna – Swivel Lance Comptroller General; Oota – Sharp Shooter; Aare-Egbe-Omo – General of the Youth Wing; Gbonka – Dignified war wager; Aare-Onibon – Brigadier-General of Gun Combatant Shooter; Bada – Chief Spy; Ajia – Commissioner; Jagun – Warrior/Defender of the ruler.

When death occurs of any member on the ladder, there has to be installation ceremony to the next rank for affected candidates not less than 21 days after the burial of the last occupant. The Olubadan. The Olubadan, upon notification of such death, will approve the promotion of others and perform installation ceremony for them at the palace. This is one of the reasons Ibadan chiefs are called "Agbotikuyo" (someone who rejoices at the death of another candidate).

Health / Re: WHO Warns Over 'Severe' Omicron Variant - 'Vaccine Rollout Must Be Accelerated' by GNBohr: 5:21pm On Nov 29, 2021
Covid 19 global conspiracy, politics and economics is what you see just at play. For about two years the hawks have been circling wondering, searching, querying and determinedly intent on why Africa seem impreginable to their pandemic. Yes, their pandemic, just like they called their wars, "World Wars". Africa has its pandemic, infections and sociopolitical and economy. We are poor, we are backward, we are corrupt, we are self centered, we are undemocratic and we are unpatriotic. These are our pandemic. We practically live with viruses and we have loads that kill us regularly, the most virulent being Lassa and Ebola. They were never declared pandemic. The hawks got reckless and let loose their locked up creation. It ravaged them almost into extinction, and still ravaging them. Pronto it has become pandemic. I agree it is a pandemic. The hawks control the resources and possess authority and imposed the measures believing this poor, stagnant and dirty continent will be devastated by it. They predicted doom and expected amaggedon. They waited, months rolled by, and year grew into another, no doom rather the supposedly"condemned" people with no health care, no medical research and no vaccine production capability, just wouldn't succumb. They scratched their heads, "what could be going on in that dark continent", "what's the secret of their immunity", what's it they have that we lack"? Questions unanswered piled upon one another. Like hawks they are feeding on hapless chickens unprotected by their irresponsible parents, dove down to assault innocent efforts at riding them of their disease. South Africa thought they were doing the right thing, the only country in Africa with the medical capability that equal theirs, announced their laboratory feats and the sound of the drum changed. A new variant native to Africa that will finally consume the continent is here. The drum sounded across acolytes and the hawks can now finally dance. Well they can continue to dance to the macabre they created. Pronto they gave it name and decided to use the almighty "Omni" word. The hawks have finally landed. If the "omni" is native of Africa, why is it infecting and affecting them more than Africans who are dirty, poor with no medical attention. I know that question will hang in the wind. They have done what all along they have been waiting for, ostracize Africa and quarantine the entire continent. If you believe otherwise then you haven't followed the Covid 19 agenda. I am not covidiot and neither am I a conspiratorial writer. The hawks will use this variant to blacklist Africa and unfortunately because of irresponsible parents we will have no choice but to follow the measures that they will lay down for us. Our lives are about to be changed.

I am afraid that many of my Igbos who are declaring Kanu innocent & picking on Malami for his statement against IPOB involvement in the destruction of Lagos during the last endsars violent protests are acting like ostriches.

Theye have forgotten Kanu's broadcasts instructing his group on the targets to kill & destroy on the eve of that destruction in Lagos.
We must recall too that many of his trusted inner caucus aides & commanders were arrested shortly before him & they all sang like cannaries.
Again, Kanu was arrested with the help of Interpol & other world security organizations including Britain that were already on his trail for terrorism which made him to escape from London to Ethiopia first, then Kenya.
What was he running away from Europe for & if these international security organizations including Interpol do not have reasons to believe that Kanu is a dangerous criminal & terrorist, why would they join Nigeria in the hunt for him?
Besides, Kanu was arrested with his phones & communication gadgets. Only God knows the volume of implicating information & details the DSS must have retrieved from them.
No matter what one does in life, let the crime you are ever accused of not be murder or treason.
The state is bigger than all the component parts & citizens put together because if there is no state, their is no citizen & the life of the state must be protected before that of any individual.
That's why the president takes an oath to protect & defend the state during his swearing in. Those asking Buhari to divide Nigeria are ignorant or pretend to be ignorant of the fact that he is under oath to defend & protect the unity of the Nigerian state.
Kanu may be released through a political settlement with Igbo leadership if they can speak & make guarantees with one voice to the federal government. But it has to be through a plea bargain not this ill advised emotional blackmail & grandstanding in South East by many South Easterners!

You are a joke. Terrorism plaque Nigeria in the North. So hanging terrorism label on Igboho and Kanu showed up the hands of FG. The two are separatists and can only be prosecuted as such. When does inflammatory statements become terrorism, under which law will that be prosecuted. Chasing shadows while the North is being consumed in conflagration.

Continue sending money for the upkeep of your daughter until she's of age to come live with you if you or she chooses to. You are likely going on in a new relationship and ladies don't like taking care of another's children and might cause conflict with her if you take your child to leave with you. There are a lot of processes involved in getting the custody because the family will not give up the custody just like that. For the ex, it's in the nature of women to ask, more so when you once loved each other and have a child together. Please don't do what will inconvenience you. If you have to give, give her and if you don't tell her. You can always refuse. She's not your responsibility but you can help her. The past is gone and you have been blessed. Don't get stucked in the past by using what she did to you against her. Majority of women will insult men who is broke. That's women for you. Are you sure the one you are going out with now will not insult you if she were to meet you in your former financial situation? God continue to bless you

Take your daughter away from her and cut all ties with her, before the husband will come after you telling the entire world that you're nacking his wife...

And put yourself in the man's shoe, would you love your wife to still be this close to her ex?? Would you love your wife to call her ex and beg for money??

Use your head na...
If it's your daughter that's the tie, take your daughter and train her yourself

How does he take the daughter now? He will just go and grab her!!! There are processes to this kind of child custody with rules and regulations. The daughter in question is still a child and the mother has more right of custody than the father unless it can be proved that the mother is not mentally and psychologically fit to raise the child. They had a child together and the father can't deny the mother of that and vice versa.

Good day nairaland,

I have this my ex girlfriend that just gave birth and she do call me at times to send her money, .. and come to think of it ,she has fought me before and also insult hell out of me that time I am still searching for job, telling me I don't have money to care for her..she left me though she had a baby girl for me of which I do send money for her feeding and school fees...but she will call me that she needed some money that I should send for her...to eat is difficult, she is doing creche job that they pay her token even where she stays with her husband is her husband friends house and that one had drove them away one night ..I have to send money to her to lodge in an hotel due to pregnancy ...the same husband did not show care at all dump her aside..I ask her about the whereabout of her husband she will say I should forget him, ....I told her can't she go to her husband family house ..she said no...

Even the naming ceremony self dey did...only the husband came..and it was this my baby mama father that just organise menu for the naming ceremony...

But I do send some money to for the sake of my daughter...

I do remember those days we were together ,she will be insulting me , talking to me mannerless ...

We fought then because she dates guys arround then until I broke up with her...

Now she do call for me to send money to her ...but I don't know what to do, I don't like insulting or shouting on someone because she needs help....but I only do for the sake of my daughter...but should I stop.the husband is not serious about her ....

And this my baby mama is stubborn.. hypertensive lady ..

But if I remember those days, is as if I should remind her... and I will stop sending her money.but as a Christian I just use church mind...

If she ask me for money, I do feel pity...

Should I stop or continue assisting her...

Give God Almighty the glory for putting you in a financial position that make her continue to kneel before you to beg for money. She wrote you off but God lifted you. So remember that and do the little you can for her within your resources without being fully responsible for her. More importantly she has a daughter for you and coming to you for help is a sign of submitting to you and realising her folly. What I will not want you to do is taking her back or having amorous or sexual relationship with her. If you realise that the help you are rendering could lead to temptation or affect your relationship with your new woman, then you can cut her off by strictly transferring money to her without interfacing with her for the sake of your daughter. Remember you can only take the child from her when she's eighteen or can prove to government that she's not mentally or psychologically fit to raise a child. God continue to bless you.

Education / Re: Brutal Flogging Of Students: Kwara Govt Opens Probe, Suspends Madrasa Leader by GNBohr: 7:31am On Oct 11, 2021
AbdulHakeem44:
Flogging a child as a form of discipline is accepted in Nigeria, it only becomes molestation when the flogging becomes too much and causes physical harm.

Flogging is part of Islamic law as a form of punishment or discipline, but never was it meant to dehumanize. No one would scold a father who beats his child to discipline him but everyone would castigate him if the beating becomes dehumanizing.

The flogging was too much is what should be condemned and not the reason they were hit.

Most of the people commenting do not have first hand information of what happened, the incomplete story spread by enemy of Islam to satisfy their Islamophobic heart is not good enough, we can do better.

Many of us born in the early 90s actually received most of this kind of punishment and that is why many in our generation are morally upright than the indomie generation we have today, but here they are hypocritically condemning the same punishment that made them morally upright.

By the way, the beating in the video was too much and should be criticized.

Addition

Many idiots already quoting me, I thought I would see someone who would argue intellectually but to my surprise, they were all dumb-heads. Didn't they see where I condemned the beating for crying out loud. These people would still condemn Islam if they had beat those kids lightly but for the sake of clubbing or partying. They will ask u what happened to freedom of movement and association. Lol.

Imagine what the girls reportedly did:

....It was gathered that the students were severely beaten because they went to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Pictures of the birthday celebration were posted online. However, their teacher saw the post and thought they drank alcohol, but they only had yoghurt.

No investigation to find out the truth. What a religious leader.

It's such a sad thing seeing such brutality in the name of religion and correcting bad behavior. This type of acts make people to deride Islam as not a religion of peace but of terrorism and barbarism. I am yet to find in the Quran or Hadiths that says multiple people should flog a younger girl irrespective of the sin or crime committed. The gusto with which the boys are beating the girl was a display of male chauvinism and tendency to become women beater. When society encourage acts like this under any guise and later complain of domestic violence, we forget that we incubate and inculcate the behavior since childhood. I read in the report that the parents consented to the physical abuse of their daughter. These are the kind of parents that will compel their daughters to accept and remain in abusive marriage. The way we take Islam in Nigeria is bordering on ridiculous and hypocrisy. Homes are breaking up, society is becoming decadent, people are getting frustrated and government is getting more corrupt. We couldn't use religion to correct all these maladies but use it to abuse people, kill, destroy and cause enmity. That's not religion and that definitely is not Islam. The earlier we Muslim in this country practice Islam and not dogmatic principle of Islamic scholars the better for all of us Muslims.

They expected violence which they have longed prepared for moving arsenal and military formations to the north. Forgetting that only economically sound states can successfully wage a war. They have had their ways for too long because we allowed them. They revelled in their false position, relaxing and saying we have everything under control. We control the resources, the security forces, the bureaucracy, the various arms of government. Oh, they forget that who pays the piper dictate the tune. We allowed them to dictate the tunes for too long. We told them the country will not grow without freedom to freely compete, to freely articulate and manage resources of each region and states. They lazy about collecting tithes in the name of allocation, fail to harness the abundant human and material resources of their region. Free money from Abuja all the time. Governors will even comfortably move to Abuja and rule their states from afar. They don't bother to roll up their sleeves and dig trenches. They are always excusing their incompetence and failures. Now the chicken is coming home to roost, let's see them continue vacationing while still holding power. Power is a responsibility to uplift the people and the society not to arrogate self importance. Power of course is transient. They will learn the truth the hard way. Economy is the power wielder not political attainment. If your power can not drive investment and development to your state then you have no reason to remain in power. We have faced the wrong direction for too long blaming the central government for the failures of the states. Now that strategic thinking and intellectual judicial pronouncement is the driving force of change. I am beginning to feel wonderful for the change that is finally coming to us. With time no one will fight do or die for Presidency anymore the real power will be with the states and the regions the way it was meant to be.

Unjust hatred for people will consume you. We see the obvious in the very hilarious VAT battle that is happening. I just dey observe.
Many supported Governor Wike's decision to be collecting VAT because they say "the North contributes nothing and they want to be collecting". But if they know their facts they will understand that they are digging a hole for themselves. They will realize it is all of us that will suffer when States collect VAT.
First of all, after Lagos, the next place that contributes the highest VAT (20%) is the FCT which is in the North. Yes this is followed by Rivers at 6% but Kano is next with 5% and this is followed by Kaduna. So no, it is not as you have been misinformed. The only special case is Lagos. So your State will suffer. Even Lagos will suffer with much more people migrating there. When resources are shared among Federating Units, it is shallow to always think it is injustice. Give Lagos 100% of it's VAT, Mukaila from Sokoto, Chinedu from Aba and even Lasisi from Osun will all migrate there. So what is the point again?
Secondly, in the federal system, companies with less than 25 million were not VATable. You think you are doing Northerners but your company will become VATable once Wike's law is replicated in your State. Why do you think commercially massive States like Abia and Anambra do not top the list of VAT contributors? Because those boys in the market were not exactly VATable, wait until what you are blindly supporting takes effect. VAT will be collected like motor park tickets. Then you will see where hate has led you.
Third, people will most likely pay VAT twice across different states with different laws because Wike does not know what is input and output VAT and did not listen to Nojeem Olasubomi Yusuf and others who politely asked him about it.
Some have even termed Wike the leader of restructuring in Nigeria. A gullible people in search of heroes. Being used and misled by every opportunist. Stop allowing yourself to be used by politicians to settle their personal scores while they tell you they are fighting for your interest.
You need to first know what your interest is to know who is actually fighting for or against it
o

Oga you are blowing grammar. VAT belong to the States according to the Constitution. Let's the states collect it as they deem fit. As per multiple payment across states, it's okay After all if you benefit from a state you must pay back to that state.

When you see the Southern governors, politicians, elders, elites, traditional rulers, cashivists, freedom fighters fighting for their private pockets & their hate doped retards on social media especially those from the Niger Delta talk about restructuring & resource control, you will think they genuinely love Nigeria & their region.
Sure No!
What they want is more money, more power & more control over the money without no one querying them.
Those governors, politicians, elders, elites, traditional rulers, cashivists & freedom fighters fighting for their private pockets that swallowed the 6 trillion naira in NDDC over the past 18 years meant to develop the Niger Delta in addition to squandering trillions of naira & billions of dollars that accrued to Niger Delta from federal statutory allocations, 13% derivation funds, ecological funds, Ministry of Niger Delta funds, taxes, royalties rents etc with only poverty, deprivation & backwardness to show for it every 4 years are the same governors, politicians, elders, elites, cashivists & freedom fighters fighting for their private pockets that will manage a restructured Niger Delta controlling all the resources there.
If they truly want restructuring, they would have welcomed & implemented by now Buhari's executive orders granting financial autonomy to local governments, state houses of assembly & state judiciaries instead of rejecting it & going to court to challenge the orders.
Those that are fighting for restructuring don't want independent local governments, state houses of assemby & state judiciaries because these are arms & organs of government, that if truly independent, will effectively check the excesses of the state governors & those embezzling the resources of the states in the region.
Those governors, politicians, elders, elites, traditional rulers, cashivists & freedom fighters fighting for their private pockets that want resource control are not ready to invest the billions of naira & dollars they stole from Nigeria & Niger Delta in prospecting for oil & building the massive oil infrastructures required to explore, manage, store & transport crude oil & gas.
That's why at the expiration of the oil leases held by some Nigerians & foreign companies, Buhari refused to renew them but rather passed the opportunity to own them to states so that they can control the resources & use the huge profits to better the lot of citizens of their states.
Many states in the Niger Delta & their governors, politicians, elites, elders, cashivists, freedom fighters fighting for their private pockets rejected the opportunity because it involves huge investments & rather opted to sell this opportunity of thier states owning these oil blocks to private individuals & firms for immediate cash from 10% commisions, kickbacks & convenient taxes.
They don't want the restructuring & resources control that will give the states more responsibilities, that will benefit their people or promote transparency, growth & development in their region. What they want is the restructuring that will give them more powers, more control & more money to squander.
That's why they talk about devolution of powers to states that will allow the governors absolute powers to make decisions on a lot more wide range of portfolios presently under the purview of the federal government.
That's why they are appropriating to themselves through their zombified state assemblies the powers to collect all taxes in their states including VAT.
That's why they are rejecting financial autonomy to local governments, state assemblies & state judiciary so that they can have the additional local government billions of naira to squander, pass any selfish law they want & obtain any court order they want against their opponents while eliminating scrutiny from the same institutions constitutionally empowered to query & sanction them.
That's why they are bent on having state police to intimidate, brutalize & put away any opponent or dissenting voice.
Sadly, the citizens of these states have their brains & minds so wickedly twisted by the ethno-religious hate opium they are doped daily & can no more comprehend who their enemies are.
A pathetic shame indeed!!

I totally agree with you on all points but law is law. Nigeria is a federation and must operate as a federation. All those ills you mentioned ailed us because of bad leaders and wrong leadership. States must control their resources and be accountable to the people of the state. If the people of the state fail to make their governors accountable that's their own cup of tea. No more baboon dey work monkey dey chop. No more robbing Peter to pay Paul.

You got this wrong bro. There's what is called mutual respect and history. Ronaldo wore that number before Cavani, that's not the case with Neymar and Messi. Ronaldo has history of the number with ManU, that's not the case with Neymar and Messi. Ronaldo brand is CR7, that's not the case with Neymar and Messi. Cavani did himself a lot of good handing the number back after all he wants to be remembered by the ManU fans for ever. Cavani has sense of history and stoop to conquer.

Or cops are above questioning because they arrested criminals in the past. We should stop being shameless country, government and people.

But one thing is certain, the pettyness of calling everyone a Billionaire is robbing us of simple knowledge and eroding our intelligence here on Nairaland.

*What Would Life Be Like As a Minority in Kanu’s Biafra?*

*"Reno Omokri"*

Recently, my perspective on Nigeria changed. I have never suppor bted any separatist or secessionist agenda. However, I have supported and defended the right of any Nigerian to express himself and associate freely. It does not matter to me where such a person comes from.

When the Buhari administration moved against Ibrahim Zakzaky and the Shiites, I was the first person (not one of the first) to defend them. After defending them publicly myself, I called the then President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, and begged him to issue a statement calling for an end to the killings of Shiites. He told me that though it was an Islamic affair, nevertheless, because of his fondness for me, he would speak in support, and he did.

I have similarly championed the causes of oppressed persons or people from every part of Nigeria. As much as is humanly possible, I have refused to be partial in my advocacy.

In the last three years, I have visited 40 nations on my own dime and time, for the cause of #FreeLeahSharibu, seeking freedom for a Christian girl from Borno. I have not collected a dime from anyone and if anyone knows anyone who has given me a penny, then they should publicly expose me.

Before Nnamdi Kanu was arrested, I did not know who he was. I just defended his right to freedom of expression and association. Various Igbo leaders called me privately to thank me. It would be wrong to mention their names, because of the challenges of the moment.

When Kanu was rearrested, I called a British government official and got the facts. I was the first (not one of the first. The first) to reveal that he was arrested in Kenya, and not in The UK. After I released this information, the media ran with it.

Yesterday, a former Presidential candidate sent me a tape of Nnamdi Kanu dissolving the UK branch of IPOB and tongue lashing the members of IPOB UK. He told them to hand over IPOB money in their possession. He then said that he suspected that the British Secret service was running IPOB UK.

I was shocked and refused to believe what I heard, until this ex Presidential candidate from the South pointed me to an IPOB channel where this same audio was broadcast.

So I published it on my page. I did not add or edit or alter the voice. I released it as is.

Given that that broadcast was released earlier this year (I was told it was first broadcast in March of 2021, though I am not 100% sure) and Nnamdi Kanu was arrested so soon after (in June), I asked if that altercation could have led to Kanu being betrayed by his members in the UK.

The result was that various persons, who claimed to be members of Indigenous Peoples of Biafra descended on my page and insulted me, attacked me and accused me of collecting money from Buhari. (Would Buhari even give me money? If Buhari will give me anything, it is more likely to be a letter bomb).

They said Nnamdi Kanu can insult anyone he liked and I should leave him alone.

A certain Northerner, who has been on my page attacking me for what he had previously called my “love for the Igbo”, now asked a question. He said ‘so you people have forgotten when this man was fighting for you so soon’?

And so I went into deep thought.

If Nnamdi Kanu eventually gets Biafra and I am a minority in that Biafra, what would be my fate? Would I be able to express myself? Would I have the freedoms for which I myself have been fighting for Nnamdi Kanu to get for the last five years? Would I be able to hold sensitive positions?

I am not Yoruba, but because of me, these members of IPOB insulted the Yoruba (why do people always think I am Yoruba?). I was called ‘ewu Yoruba’. Somebody even threatened to kill me if I ever stepped into Onitsha (thesame Onitsha where I donated money and raised millions for victims of the 2019 Onitsha Market Fire?).

These people in their hundreds descended on me with a consistent refrain, that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is the supreme leader of the Igbos and he could insult his members if he chose and no one could question him.

And that prompted a paradigm shift in my consciousness. If you have been following the dailies, you would have read one or two stories planted by the Buhari administration in the papers of how they have been tracing Kanu and monitoring his movements for two years.

The stories claimed that they were able to get to him through members of the Eastern Security Network that they had captured. Then a few days ago, they released a video testimony of one captured ESN member, by name Emeoyiri Uzorma Benjamin, that has now gone viral, in which the young man claimed that Kanu had given them instructions to kill policemen and soldiers, as well as their fellow Igbos.

He sensationally claimed that Kanu instructed them to bury one of his lieutenants, Nwaokike Kayinayo Andy, AKA Ikonso with 2000 human heads. Even more sensationally, he alleged that Mr. Kanu gave directives to them to kill young girls, who they used for fetish charms.

Now, it is not possible to say it this fellow is telling the truth, or half truths or lies. However, from his testimony, or account of the inside workings of IPOB/ESN, and the broadcasts which I listened to, and which is also available on some IPOB social media accounts, we see that Nnamdi Kanu had almost total authority over IPOB.

All this time, I was thinking that, though Nnamdi Kanu showed extreme indiscretion by going to a country like Kenya, which is notorious for extrajudicially extraditing people to regimes seeking them (the Turkish government did exactly the same thing the Nigerian government did with Kanu to Selahaddin Gulen, a Turkish dissident that was captured by Turkey’s intelligence from Nairobi. In that instance, Kenya first denied complicity, then promised to investigate the event. It happened in 2016. Kenya is still ‘investigating’ that event), that he nevertheless must have been betrayed by someone in his organisation, who tipped the Nigerian intelligence agencies that Kanu was headed to Kenya.

But my experience with Mr. Kanu’s supporters made me have a rethink. With the way they treat him as though he is infallible, could it not be more likely that there was nobody within the organisation bold enough to advise Mr. Kanu not to travel to Kenya, because to do so, or to counter him in any way, would have brought upon such a person weighty consequences.

And then I began thinking about the ‘dot in a circle’ statement by General Buhari. I had criticised Buhari for making that comment. It is most irresponsible of him to have described the Igbo as such. It showed his malevolent mindset towards some citizens of his own country, and he should apologise.

However, on further introspection, I began to cast my mind to statements Nnamdi Kanu had made in his many broadcasts which I only watched just yesterday.

He unacceptably insults Black people as being less intelligent than other races (how can a Black person say such things? Is that not self hatred?). He attacks Yoruba churches, pastors and media (what is a Yoruba church? Honestly, I had never heard of a Yoruba church until I heard that word from Kanu. I thought all churches belonged to God through Christ).

You can imagine if you are Yoruba and sympathetic to the plight of the Igbo, and you listen to all the bile from Kanu about your ethnic nationality, how would you look if you continue to defend him to your kinsmen?

Then you listen to some of the even more outrageous things he has said about Northerners (Igbos, your enemy is Buhari. Your enemies are not the Hausa or Fulani. Don’t mix up the two). I cannot even repeat them here.

Looking back to those broadcasts, it looks to me that it is Nnamdi Kanu himself who made IPOB (not the Igbos as Buhari claims) a dot in a circle.

He made no attempts to be persuasive. He did not even try to win hearts. He made no pretence of anything but contempt to anyone who was not part of his Biafra. Even though I had always thought that Odili, Amaechi and Wike and their people in Rivers state are Igbos, I now understand, but do not agree with Wike’s claims that they are not Igbos.

Who would want to be a minority in a country ruled by Kanu? Tufiakwa! You speak your mind and you may be shot on the spot!

To be honest, I had never listened to these broadcasts by Nnamdi Kanu until they were brought to my attention by this Southern Presidential candidate. I was clueless about their existence. In fact, I felt a bit naive. I felt like a fool!

Anyone who has been following me for the last six years would have known how much of my time and money I have devoted to defending, advocating for and promoting the cause of the Igbos.

However, having watched for the first time these videos where Nnamdi Kanu called Black people wicked (I am Black, but I don’t think I am wicked), and where he described Igbos who refuse to support IPOB as evil, I am flummoxed!

However, the one that shocked me the most was his statement that (and this is an exact quote), “If you are attending a Yoruba church, you should be ashamed of yourself. Anyone who attends a church headed by a Yoruba pastor is an idiot. A complete fool. An slowpoke. I have no time for them. They are worse than Boko Haram. They are very, very foolish. If your pastor is Yoruba, you are not fit to be a human being.”

And the funniest thing is that the pastor who provoked him into making that statement is from Auchi. He is not even Yoruba. No wonder they think I am Yoruba. To these lot, anyone Southerner West of the Niger is Yoruba. They have a majority mindset that is not minority friendly AT ALL.

Even more disturbing is that this Auchi pastor, who Nnamdi Kanu calls Yoruba, and used to generalise all Yoruba pastors, was summoned by DSS in December of 2016, and asked to explain why he did a video calling for Kanu’s release. Who fights those who fights for them?

How did I miss these broadcasts? Have I been too focused on Buhari to the extent that I was blindsided? Is this the fellow I have been defending?

I am a minority. My late father was a minority. He went to Sokoto as a Youth Corp Member in 1975, and became Nigeria’s youngest Director of Public Prosecution and Nigeria’s youngest judge (at the time), and was elevated to the Court of Appeal, all from old Sokoto. Would that be possible in Kanu’s Biafra?

And when he was interviewed in 2020 by Dr. Damages (I did not even know until the same Southern former Presidential candidate sent me the video), and given an opportunity to denounce his previous statements against the Yoruba, Nnamdi Kanu doubled down on it and said as follows:

“Most of the difficulties we have been having have always come from these Yoruba pastors.”

Then he went on to say in that same 2020 interview as follows:

“Yoruba Pentecostalism is the reason why Fulanis are invading us today.”

Where is the connection between Pentecostal churches and killer herdsmen?

I was stunned. This video was recorded last year. How come I never saw it. I checked on YouTube and only 27,000 people had seen it.

How can I be against Isa Pantami for saying “We are all happy whenever unbelievers are being killed” and then tolerate these statements from Nnamdi Kanu?

If I do, it will make me a hypocrite. And while I mistakenly may sometimes be hypocritical, I will not be deliberately hypocritical.

Everything I have said here is the truth. It is on video and audio. If you do not like what I have written, then jejely unfollow me. We are obviously not on the same wavelength and I am not about to change in order to make you like me.

Expect all other Muslim state to have their share of flags too, Nasarawa, okene in Kogi etc and boom the presidency will be surrounded.
Do you know the funny thing.
Despite the spread most Muslim still believe in their subconscious that its a war between islam and Christian and the BH is their foot soldiers.

Assisted by some moles in the NA you will be shocked how they will take over Abuja in no time and their sympathizers including those in the government will become victims. They will change their pledge and turn their sponsors in the government to enemies.

Its unfortunate but this is true

Islam and it core followers does not support modern life.

Islam is designed to implode naturally

Islam can't work in a sane environment

Stupid. Islam work in UAE, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Indonesia, Bahrain, Malaysia, Tanzania, Morocco, Turkey, etc.

It's the hypocrisy of the northerners that's killing them not Islam.
