I don't wish we go through this path, but when the securities personnel have become a political tools to wage wars against a particular region in favour of other region, then we should expect people to take laws into their hands. Many people will pick up arms. It is a pity, there will be lots of militias that will pick up arms.
It's expected and I said it. When OPC arrested Wakili and handed him over to the police, what happened? Rather than investigate Wakili and prosecute him, no they instead sent Wakili to hospital on Federal Government bill and arrested the OPC operatives. They wanted jungle justice and they will get it. Now jungle is just maturing. They never see anything.

No matter how you look at it the Yoruba have themselves to blame. The amount of nonsense they take and over look in the name of being nice and accommodating is disappointing.

How many times have you heard that a certain group of Yoruba people went into people's region to kidnap, kill and burn down people's homes?? You don't tolerate people that are posing as your enemy
Relax my brother. They just told us to go the jungle justice way. Two can play the game. Most importantly Wakili is never going back to Igangan, that they can't enforce. He is out permanently.

The stupid thing the proponents of the blockade did was to assume that the market in the South West is Yoruba. Wrong assumption number 1. Yorubas owns the market but don't operate the market. The market down South, particularly South West is a global one, it consists of people from all over the world. The proponents also assumed that market is always available. Wrong assumption number 2. Yes, market is always available but not readily accessible in terms of needs and wants. Like you take pork to a Muslim market. Market is also about disposable income. Like you take a Lamborghini to Idodemomo to sell, who will buy it. The proponents also erroneously assumed that the market will beg for the product. Wrong assumption number 3. Markets drive production as is explained in the laws of demand and supply except in products that have no alternatives or have only one producer. Market usually call the bluff of producers because there are countless producers seeking to access the market. The proponents then fatally assumed that they can keep the products in inventory till the impasse last. That's wrong, very wrong assumption number 4. It's this that break the camel's back. They lack capacity to store preserve the products in the right marketable condition and quality, moreso these products are perishable. So when the rots and damages set in, the fear of losing the whole investment in the production process will ultimately compel the producer to return to the market. This sometimes have a consequence of its own. Depends on if the market have remained where it was or moved on to other sources and alternatives. The second consequence is the price dynamic may change in favour of the market because the producer is now desperate to sell to salvage whatever remains of their products.
The lesson from all these is that, we should always think deeper beyond sentimentality when making economic decisions. Business is not handled the way politics is. Now that the blockade has happened it has now created the awareness in the southern government to change their strategies towards agriculture and if this happens, the northern food producers stand to lose more in the long run. It's always bad to start what you can't finish when you definitely lack the capacity to see it to the end. While the blockade lasted, the market in the south operated at higher costs than usual become of price dynamic which was painful but they bore it because they know their sources of income is unaffected and it's just a matter of time before other producers replace the north food producers. Playing dirty politics is and will be our undoing in this country and if care is not taking will ruin the nation.

RomanceRe: She Has A Child For Someone But Wants Me To Marry Her. Help by GNBohr: 5:32pm On Jan 16, 2021
22brains:
There's this girl am dating, she's beautiful and has everything a man wants in a woman.

But The problem is "she had a child outside wedlock" and hardly go about without carrying The baby(5yrs old). This makes me feel embarrassed among my peers, knowing am not the legitimate father.

She always gets upset whenever I try to know about the father of her child. All she has told me of him is they broke up.

She also pressures me to marry her that she is tired staying with her mom.

She's 20yrs while am 26. Should I succumb or Jakpa? Please help a brother with some advice.
It's no crime for her to have a child. You must love her enough to be ready to be father to her child. She's very young but must find out what led her to her present single mother condition. She must be ready to tell you everything. If after hearing her story, you still want her to be your wife, please go ahead. You are young yourself and must be ready to convince your people to accept her and her child. Don't marry her out of pity.

I went for the covid 19 test, but I tested positive, I isolated for 14 days,

these covid 19 is real, look around you, you will notice a lot of people with running nose, and cough, some are mild

some people throat will be blocked even, trust me

but it doesn't kill, especially the young with Strong immune system

and during the test, they will insert this deep instrument into your nose, very deep to extract mucus . that is the only scary part
So according to you, there has been no person with running nose and cough before covid 19.
There's no way people in Africa will not have such symptoms because of our dirty and dusty environment.
There are diseases in Africa killing more than covid 19 yet no one is isolating for it or locking down for it. True covid 19 exists but our government only does counting and issuing directives. What concrete medical equipment and infrastructures have been put in place to combat it. Only what they do is issuing directives, close schools, close religious worship centres, close markets, etc. What about providing tests and treatments all across Nigeria and supporting the masses with good economic policies that will enhance good quality of lives and engender keeping to the measures and protocols of covid 19.
Now each is on survival trek, economically, socially and medically.

Hmm, those are the names they call them by- street urchins, miscreants, hoodlums, touts, what other names do we call them out there. They all over Nigeria in their millions. Oh, they're the ones that infiltrated the peaceful protests. Ah, they were the ones that inflicted the destruction across the country - burning, looting, stealing, killing and, yeah, raping. Really. Were those really their names, I think not. They were the creation of you and me, the monster given birth to and nurtured by the irresponsible system of government we run. They're forgotten, neglected, abandoned, discarded, marginalised children of the country whose lives have become valueless to you and me. So we think, until they reminded all of us once again of their presence, value, importance, efficiency and effectiveness. In just twenty four hours, they brought the entire nation to attention making all of us to scurry to our mothers and fathers, sent the affluents to their sanctuary, that's if they believe it to be so, the leaders were hurriedly moving from one meetings to another. The world looked on in amazement. Just like a wind, they retreated to be by another whirlwind, sooner or later. Do we think we can get away with it, the injustice and inequality that bred them. Let's continue to live in denial as if we don't know the use we put them into. Politicians always negatively empower them, leaders use them as disruptive agents, yet society detest them. These elements know what we think about them, they know we don't value their lives. Surprised, how we now expect them to value all that's societal, the infrastructures, the investments, the government structure, the businesses, oh yes our safety and indeed our lives. Keep calling them all those names and be in fools Paradise, congratulating ourselves for every milestone that doesn't involve them. They're there to destroy everything that we have built, endanger all our lives, kill our loved ones and ultimately crash everything if we continue to turn blind eyes to their existence. The children that the society refuse or fail to cultivate will cultivate themselves into nemesis. We are our own nemesis and we continue to live with it until we decide to cultivate every single child born of this country. Remember, another time is coming for their emergence from where they have crawled back into. They are waiting, watching, thinking and angling for that another time.

FoodRe: Nestlé Responds To Golden Morn Discussion by GNBohr: 10:05am On Oct 22, 2012
This response from Nestle get as e be. It only add to the comfusion and worry of the people. What do they mean by " precautionary measures". Why the new insertion of precaution in June 2012? What makes the product "suitable" pre June 2012 and "unsuitable" post June 2012. What is the danger to the children who have previously, are presently and will later consume the product?
These are the issues, not some grossly inadequate and irresponsible response. I checked the composition of the product and read nothing strange that can alarm one to the unsuitableness of the product. Nestle should tell us the hidden information not displayed on the product label that compels them to insert this "caveat emptor" years after millions of children under 3 years must have consumed their product.
In the absence of such absolute information and guarantee, NAIRALANDERS SHOULD NOT HESITATE TO INSTITUTE A LIBEL AGAINST NESTLE FOR ENDAGERING LIVES OF MILLIONS OF OUR CHILDREN.
This will serve as deterrent to other companies who play economics with children lives. Nestle may have indeed betray the trust parents have in them to produce healthy foods for our children. How are we sure other products of theirs dont have similar flaws or danger. Boycotting, all their products until they come with more convincing information and public apology in all media they used in advertising the product, may be a good reaction to their act of dangerous irresponsibility.
NAFDAC need to be pressured to act on this issue as well.
PoliticsRe: Why Do People Hate Bola Tinubu? by GNBohr: 12:31pm On Oct 17, 2012
I have been reading with interest the various pro and anti – Tinubu sentiments displayed particularly on Nairaland and I have come to realise that more than 75% of the people contributing either ways knows next to nothing about the man.

In order to fully analyse the person of Tinubu, there is need to be both objective and subjective and not speak from emotions or from the

Tinubu has been called a bastard, a thief, a godfather and a tout. These are the main labels used in incriminating him. Tinubu has also been called a patriot, a leader, a businessman, a politician, a professional and an administrator. These labels have also been used to attack him. So in effect, Tinubu is not a good person. Then who is a good person?

The story of his birth is well known and I believe if true according to Pastor Bakare, the real losers are his parents who people like Pastor Bakare claimed abandoned him. I ask, since when does being abandoned children become being bastards. Where in our constitution does a citizen becomes qualified as a bastard. If we follow the thinking of some people, then both Jesus and Mohammed were bastards. Are you even sure you are the child of those you know and called your parents, including Pastor Bakare himself. Have you done a DNA test to confirm?

So Tinubu is a thief, then I asks who is not a thief. Jesus asked the same question. If Tinubu is a thief, I think he is a good thief. How many rich Nigerians can come clean with their wealth? The politicians, the corporate organisations’ executives, the religious clerics, the businessmen and women, the administrators, the traders, the transporters, the militants, the social crusaders/activists, the entertainers, name them. We have all used our position one way or the other to exploit the other person. We are all products of our environment. We have all seen what previous bank executives did with depositors’ fund. We have seen what pastors did with tithe.

So Tinubu is a godfather. Tell me which politician is not a godfather? Even in religious setting there is godfatherism, not to talk of business, international affairs, and family. We all know where we all play our godfatherism.

So Tinubu is a tout. So who is not a tout and when does being a tout become illegal in the general sense. Touts are businessmen and we all engage in touting one way and another to move our businesses forward.

Tinubu is simply playing the politics of our day, the same way the Sardauna, Awolowo, Azikwe and co played the politics of their days. If Tinubu is a present day politician and is not ready to be all those names you call him, I wonder where he would be today.

Yoruba people use to say, to catch a monkey, you have to be like a monkey. It is a truism that has well been adopted in fighting crimes, bringing down enemies, subterfuging nations, sabotaging corporations. You can not successfully fight your enemy without behaving like your enemy to fully understand your enemy.

Do you think you can compete in Nigerian politics without being involved in all those things that you people accuse Tinubu of doing? Gani Fawehinmi did it he failed Falana did it in Ekiti, he also failed, though he is lawyer to most of these politicians. Ask yourself why they failed. We, the people don’t want their type in politics.

How do you think he fought as an opposition, do you expect him to be a saint. Who is your alternative to Tinubu? Tinubu is an intelligent guy, a good rogue who employed smart thinking to raise fund for his party without outrightly stealing from the treasury because you and me will never contribute to the funding of political parties.

Tinubu understand his people, he knows what they want and he is providing them the platform required. All other talk is immaterial. His so called stealing is benefiting his Yoruba people. His people want a regional party because of the failure of the party at the centre and he is doing that to the amazement and chagrin of those who are not in his camp.

He has been accused of stealing Lagos State money to create an empire (political and economic) Yes, he is so successful at doing that unlike others who stole and ran away, creating no empire or legacy. Some ran into prison and many others ran into oblivion. He stole, stayed back, invested his theft, created jobs, install governments, encouraged development, attracted foreign construction giants, even if he end up owning part of them.

@ Billyonaire:
Who Owns Hitech ? Tinubu
Who Owns AlphaBeta ? Tinubu
Who Owns Oriental Hotel ? Tinubu
Who owns LCC ? Tinubu
Who owns Nations News Paper ? Tinubu
Who owns Nations Airline ? Tinubu
Who controls all LGAs in Lagos ? Tinubu
Who controls Lagos state House of Assembly ? Tinubu
Who is Fashola's Godfather ? Tinubu
Who 'owns' ACN ? Tinubu

It is even good that he used his ill begotten wealth, (according to you) for all the above. Tell me what other politicians who stole like him did with theirs. Let others do like Tinubu and see if Nigeria will not be a better place. The stealing Tinubu did in Lagos, is fast changing the face of Lagos and improving its economy.

So condemn or praise him as much as you want, it changes nothing. Those who lost to him, will cry and spread hateful thread about him and those who need him knows how to reach out to him. This is Nigeria, there are no saints here. Even you are no saints.

Before you condemn Tinubu, what has been your contribution, your achievement, your legacy and your principle?

TINUBU IS A NIGERIAN POLITICIAN PLAYING NIGERIAN PLOITICAL GAME AND HE IS MOVING MOUNTAINS. REMEMBER ALL POLITICIANS ARE NOT YOUR FRIEND OR INTERESTED IN YOUR INTEREST. THEY DO WHAT INTEREST THEM AND WHAT FURTHERS THEIR OWN INTEREST. IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT DIVIDE YOU BELONG.

PoliticsRe: Facts Reveal That Bakassi Belongs To Nigeria by GNBohr: 3:21pm On Sep 18, 2012
This Bakassi issue is really a painful one. Reading through all posts and comments, even thoae sarcastic ones, showed that Nigerians dont really agree with ICJ and Federal Government positions. But what we have all not considered is that land matter is all about people and politics and not legal frameworks. Therefore, consideration is first given to people before resources and all land politics are about people.

In the case of Bakassi, the Nigerian people who are now shouting and bringing "fresh facts" failed when it mattered most. The problem of Bakassi can be viewed from the following:

1. Responsibility of Nigerian Government
2. Duty of Nigerian People
3. International Politics

1. Responsibility of Nigerian Government: The Nigerian government have since the issue started up to the present time displayed gross irresponsibility towards Bakassi (land and people). This of course is a reflection of how Nigerian government treats its people.

This can be seen from the fact that since the so called ICJ judgment:

(a) not a single session was held in either of the houses of the National Assembly points to this act of irresponsibility.
(b) the Governor's forum has not made it one of their agnedas is a pointer of government recklessness
(c) not even a committee in the usual Nigerian style is commissioned to study the ICJ ruling and seek ways for redress tells us how Nigeria is viewed by those who lead us
(d) the constitution amendment exercises ever so wilfully embarked upon have not for once reviewed the shrinking of Nigerian geographical expression as caused by the ICJ ruling
(e) the seeming silence by the Federal executive council, State Council and the ruling political party, PDP under which the ICJ ruling was made is indeed not golden if not consent.

So I ask myself, if those who have been elected to defend the territorial integrity of Nigeria have shown these sort of non-chalance towards Bakassi (land and people), then there might really be nothing our granmmar, patriotism and passion for keeping Bakassi as part of Nigeria can do.
Except of course, there is a grand strategy by the Federal Government to win Bakassi back through approaches they are not willing to disclose for "security reasons" or to completely relinquish the land to Cameroon for reasons they will never tell us beyong abiding by the ICJ ruling.

Well, before we take a position, lets wait till October 10 deadline for appeal before we know what actually is the fate of Bakassi (land and people). Nigeria governent may surprise us all by that date, the surprise could be negative or positive.

2. Duty of Nigerian People: The Nigerian people have not really shown by agitation or representation to our own government our position on Bakassi beyond rhetorics and these so called "fresh facts" These indifferences could be a product of the conflicting heterogenic interests playing out in the 'regional firmament' of all the ethnic structural composition that Nigeria is. Bakassi is situated in the South-South (Niger Delta) which is the most heterogenous region in Nigeria. It is a shame that the Bakassi problem is not seen as a regional problem the way resource control is seen. This is one of the problems of Niger Delta, always failing to articulate their positions regionally, always appealing to sentiments, always seeking for immediate gains, always myopic in their approach. If your land is taken away from you, how do you struggle for resource control?

Many Niger Deltan fronts, activists, lobby groups, miltants and politicians/stakeholders have not pushed the Bakassi cause to become bigger than Nigeria the way they all pushed for resource control leading to militancy, it is as if it (Bakassi) is not part of the Niger Delta problem. In fact the whole Niger Delta struggle has alienated the tribes in the region far from each other rather than bringing them together (this is what Bakassi shows). Someone mentioned OBJ being Yoruba would not have agreed to ICJ ruling if Bakassi were to be part of Yorubaland (very myopic). My response to that assertion is that the issue would have become a big Yoruba regional agenda bigger that even Nigeria the same way attempting to cede the Nigerian part of Lake Chad to Niger Republic would have become a bigger Hausa-Fulani regional agenda far bigger than Nigeria.

In these two extreme circumstances, any Nigerian president would have been compelled (put under pressure) to question or even outrightly reject ICJ ruling because it would have become a regional issue where all blocs making up that region would rise up to defend one of their own. The Niger Delta failed in this responsibility, the political, economical, traditional, intellectual class and militant youths all went to sleep over Bakassi. It is a truism that other people will rise to your support only when you call for it, this the South-South people did not do. On a lager scale. all other regions too kept quiet and turned the Bakassi issue to a mere government issue.

That is how we all, as Nigerian people (including the diaspora), fail in our duty to the homeland. The Bakassi issue is a people issue, Bakassi is not a barren, uninhabited or just discovered piece of peninsula like the Falkland Islands someone referred to. We have all failed the Bakassi people because in our typical non-chalant attitude and selfishness, greed and crass irresponsibility, we have abandoned our kith and kin to be prey to Cameroonian sharks.

This crass irresponsibility is seen in the way we have been treating the Bakassi people since the debacle of the ICJ ruling. It is an extraordinairy shame that we can still not relocate and resettle those that have become homeless since the ICJ ruling, ten years after. We are all blabbing grammar here online, even passing blames and calling others names, which is easier to do. The NGO, the Save Nigeria Group, the Civil Society Groups including the labour and Professional unions/associations have all gone missiing over the most important issues in the lives of all dead, living and unborn Nigerians.

If it is Fuel Subsidy or Minimum Wage, we will occupy Nigeria, if it is shenanigan fraud cases, we will be setting up phony probes. If it is about protesters and skirmishes, we will be mobilising armed JTF troops to parks and streets. If it is about political posturing or positioning, we wiil be organising stakeholders conferences and holding nocturnal meetings to address issues of national importance. If losing a territory either through war or ICJ ruling is not of national importance or of internal and external security concerns, then I dont know if we will ever have one, not even Boko Haram or blowing of oil pipelines or Ogoni self rule declaration.

3. International Politics: International politics play out under the umbrella of National Government responsibility and Citizens Duties to their country. Unfortunately, Nigeria as a country lack these two basic ingredients of playing international politics. Reason why we will always fail when it comes to international adjudication. True, the case started under Abacha, but because our population size always deceive us about our ability, we become "the bigger they come, the harder they fall". We have tenaciously called ourselves what we truly are not, we live in grand illusion of our unproductive and illiterate population. We have erroneous impression of ourselves as the black power and giant of Africa, when in reality we are midgets in Africa (not to mention world) politics, finance, trade and industry. In fact we add very little value in comparative terms to world economy, it is when decisions like this ICJ ruling comes our way that our true reflection in international politics dawn on us. Of course like arrogant fools that we are, we will never accept that reality.

Is it not a shame that Nigeria, with our so prided "world class historians", "legal luminaries", "international diplomats", "financial icons", "industrial moguls", "political heavyweights" and "global economist" can not sit down, form a "world beater team" and present a "water tight" document to prove the "belonginess" (not ownership) of Bakassi to Nigeria, that can never be separated by any human act other than a plebiscite or referendum. This failure is a true reflection of our outer and inner selves as undignified people who can sell themselves for a plate of porridge.

We are not our kith and kin (brothers) keepers, we dont defend the defeceless, we dont support those needing support, we dont care for those needing care, we dont respect one another, we dont share each others problem, we dont talk for those without voice, we dont feed those without food, we dont house those homeless, we dont love one another, we are simply hypocritically religious, we steal from ourselves, we exploit one another, we are corrupt, greedy, selfcentred, arrogant and ignorant. Yet we will not admit. We are not progressive, proactive but very superficial and irresponsible, (leaders, followers and all). No one is immune to these traits, we are all the same, reason why we are so blessed yet so poor.

We are excellent at passing bucks and antagonising one another and never willing to admit good in others or accept our failings. We are jealous of one another and will rather work against each others' interest instead of protecting them (crab syndrome). We strongly lack communal spirit. This is what Bakassi have exposed us to be, there is no hiding place for us any more. Even the British were disgusted with us over the case, of course the British would not fight our battles. In our delusion, some of us will blame colonial rule for our woes as if we are the only country once under colonial rule. China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Korea, South America including Canada and USA were all once under British colonial imperialism. What is the gap between us and these countries. The Kashmir is still a disputed region between Pakistan and India, Golan Heights is another.

Why do we chickenly let go of Bakassi, Abacha, no; Abdusalam, no; OBJ, no; Jonathan, no; cowardice, no; lack of history and incontrovertible evidence, no; lack of international support, no; lack of resources, no; it is simply because it is in our gene to abandon/deny our own, turn black (dead) eye to our responsibility, deprive our dependants and live outrageously.

We are all to blame for the impending loss of Bakassi. But the biggest blame goes to the Government at all levels in Nigeria and all groups (locally and in diaspora) claiming to be representing and fighting for the interest of the Nigerian people. Posterity will not forgive all of us. Dont think you can extricate yourself by blaming others.

On lighter side, Bakassi is a word used to describe one of the beautiful booties of our women, so if Bakassi goes to Cameroon, can we still use the name in such manner?. Will we send all Bakassi boys to Cameroon? Just asking!!!.

There are articulated trucks moving food from other parts of the country, like livestocks, onions, yams, etc to the markets in Lagos that are enforced by law to close by 6pm. So the trucks come in, wait till 9pm to enter the metropolis. How do they offload at an already closed market. You can begin to imagine the chaos from this provision alone. How do you prove I was eating maybe gala after I have swallowed it. How do you punish me for not reporting if you discovered a parked car near my house is abandoned. How do you determine abandoned vehicle. Is this law out to kill the growing logistics businesses that operate articulated trucks such as DHL, Dangote, and thosew running container terminals and warehouses. Now they should shift their operations to the night. What about construction companies and telecom operators moving materials and equipment to from port, warehouses and work sites. Oh, all these projects should all be executed at nights. Fasola is indeed a joker if he thinks solution to traffic problem in Lagos is just inking to a piece of paper called law. The solution is infrastructure, if roads are repaired, particularly inner street roads everybody will not be driving only on the main roads. All the link roads to major highways in Lagos are terribly bad. Most roads in residential communities in Lagos that people can use as a detour to other communities are unmotorable. If Nigerian govt did not kill railway, articulated trucks will not be a menace. If jobs are available and they have not used corruption to destroy the economy, youths will not become okada riders. They created these problems and no law can fix them unless and until necessary infrastructure development and job creation are done. Since KAI have been molesting people, has street trading and hawking stopped. Not that I supported street trading but KAI is not the solution. I rest my case.

It is good to read and take lessons from these inspirations but the most effective inspirations is yourself. Dont be straightjackets. Your personal life situations and experiences will form the secrets and strategies that will lead you to success or poverty. Besides there are powers that are above us that influences our destinations: the power of GOD and the power of DEVIL. The one you subscribe to will define what you call success. But I tell you in all sincerity, material sucess and political success in the eyes of today's world is strongly linked to the power of the DEVIL. I don tire for this thread o. I think the only country in Africa named with proper original indigenous language is Burkina Faso as championed by late Thomas Sankara, who himself bore a name from a foreign language. Africa itself was not called that name by its people. It is a foreign langauge like your names. So if you want to reject what or how Africa is described, start by stop being called Joshua, Yakub, Sandra or Sakira. These people use their language the way it makes them relate with their environment and because they are in control, their language, culture, styles, worldview and religion dominates. Is that not why your parents struggled to send you to school to first of all learn thier language. If you are not ok with that try and dominate the world. That is the simple law of nature. There was a time the Nubians were controlling a larger chunk of Africa, from middle to the north. Then their language, culture, religion and styles pervaded. They even gave the world Alchemy, but they lost control and other people took control. In todays world the english language is the number one language because the British was the last empire and they are fortunate to be. If the Greek, Roman, Germanic and the Arabic were to either be the last, the number one language would probably have been greek, latin, german or arabic. So dont come here with such sentiments. For your information, every language has a derogatory word for the people of other languages. Nairaland is replete of such descriptions or classifications with, Hausa, Igbo,Yoruba and other tongues aiming at each other. Remember without people there is no history and without history there is no geography.

Religion plus prayer is nothing unless matched with action. My bible tells me that heaven helps those that help themselves. God cannot be blackmailed by our prayers when we refuse to do what is right. God will not do what men ought to do by itself. The knowledge of science is inspiration of God but the act of science is done by men. Boko Haram and all other problems will and cannot be solved by prayers. Since our president believe prayers is the solution to our problems then we should know that GEJ is a square peg in a round hole.
