PoliticsProtest at INEC headquarters by APC is Foolish - Gov Obi by Goddex(op): 4:08pm On Dec 05, 2013
Anambra Election: Obi carpets APC, says protest at INEC headquarters is ‘foolish’

By Wale Odunsi on December 5, 2013

Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, on Wednesday lambasted the protest organised by the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the outcome of Anambra governorship election, describing the action as not only “unwise but foolish”.

Obi who spoke at Alex Ekwueme’s Square where he distributed 280 brand new vehicles to Directors of the local government system and 80 buses to local councils, said as far as he is concerned, the governorship election is over.

He wondered why people without origin in Anambra, would believe that their own party deserved to win the election.

According to him, those who went to protest in Abuja did so because of selfish reasons, not because they love Anambra people.

“How many Anambra people participated in the Abuja protest over the election,” Obi quipped.

“To make the matter worse, some of the home states of those who filed out in protest against Anambra election, are burning and they could not proffer solution to the problem.”

“How, as outsiders, would you weep more than the bereaved,” he asked rhetorically.

On the governor-elect, Willie Obiano, Obi said he has no agreement with him and does not require anything from him.

“Fortunately, he has more enough personal wealth before coming to contest the governorship election; and so, my advice to him is: serve the people. I have no agreement with him. I don’t need anything from him”.

Obi praised Anambra people for voting for continuous progress of the state and for its future.

EducationRe: ASUU Is Reckless, Irresponsible, Lawless, And Lacks Fear Of God” – Presidency by Goddex: 11:04am On Dec 02, 2013
20pounds: Pls I have a few questions.

1. Why is it that the members of the opposition are in support of ASUU? Is it borne out of love for ASUU or the students and their parents? Is ASUU another arm of the APC now? Is it borne out of hatrd for d govt and pull him down syndrome?

2. Since ASUU said it is fighting for the interest of the students, can we conduct a poll among the students to know if they want to go back to classes or continue with the strike?

3. If FG pays ASUU for d period they hav bn at home, who is going to pay the students for lost time and rent that have accrued on their apartments? Since ASUU is fighting for the students, let dem consider their salaries as part of d sacrifice just as d students have sacrificed time and rent on this strike.

4. Should any responsible govt sit down and watch the future of the youngsters truncated by any organisation?

5. When last I checked ASUU is a trade union that fights for the interest of the lecturers or has it become an arm of NANS? If not, then the ASUU that I know was set up to fight for lecturers interest.

6. Why is this strike about money and not forcing govt to erect d structures instead of asking to be handed d money?
Bros, this is the dumbasss situation we find ourselves in this country. Even the APC media and their e-rats here on nairaland opening their stinking mouths did everything to justify the action of Fashola when he sacked Lagos doctors for striking. All of them now suddenly support ASUU because they see it as an opportunity to run down the federal govt. And we expect Nigeria to progress with these tribal, religious, ethnic, political sentiments beclouding our sense of reasoning?

By Our Reporters

Meanwhile, the House said yesterday that despite the defection of five nPDP govern-ors, nothing will change in its leadership as no member has so far communicated to the leader-ship of his intention to move.

Deputy spokesman of the House, Mr. Victor Ogene (APGA, Anambra), said until such a time when members formally declare their intention, the House remains the way it is.
He said Section 68 (1) of the 1999 Constitution, as amended, provides that members can only defect to another political party in group base on merger agreement, but that what was happening in PDP cannot be defined as such.

He said: “In politics, things like this happen. But as a House, we remain one. Section 68 (1) (g) of the 1999 Constitution, as amended, says people cannot cross carpet in group except in merger situation.
“But defection has to do with individual member. So if they’re defecting, the proper thing must be done by activating that section of the constitution.

“As at now, we are not aware of any member defecting to another party. Remember, going by our rule, until a party has 181 members, you can’t talk of having the majority.”

gregg2: Tribalism is Nigeria's biggest problem. It's not a coincidence that:

1) All the Board of Trustee members of the Award agency are from South West and ACN/APC politicians.

2) All the so-called judges are from South West

3) The First, Second and Third positions are all South West papers sympathetic to ACN/APC dishing out APC propaganda

4) So, The Nation and National Mirror are by these awards better than Guardian, The Sun, Daily Times, Daily Trust, Vanguard and even Thisday because they are not South West papers?

The bolded will surprise Satan too

One New PDP senator from Sokoto started that allegations all because the CBN and NNPC refused to honour his committee's invitation to appear before it. It was a deliberate attempt to blackmail the NNPC and CBN.
