Jungle justice is bestial. But then isn't it even terrible that someone would think of robbing other people? Yet, our judicial system isn't always a refuge in times of need. It's complicated. |

Richiy: Good morning everyone. I have gone through the pages here and I have to admit I find them very informative. I want to apply for a master's degree program in the University of Massachusetts and Bridgewater State university. I am studying to take GRE but, for the course I want to apply for (professional writing) , they said MAT is more preferable. I checked online to see if there are MAT centers in Nigeria but I can't seem to find any.
I would like to know if anyone has taken that particular test here or I should just continue with GRE plans.
If anyone here is around the schools I want to apply, please notify me.
If anyone has any advice, please feel free. Hello, You are on the right path. Please, if I may ask, why those schools? Instead of circumscribing yourself, why not look at other schools that will take GRE from you. See, the idea of MAT is somehow - at least, to me. Even for your course, most schools would suggest you write subjects-based GRE instead of MAT. I am saying this because I am familiar with your terrain - a graduate of English. Ma, your chances are limited with what you have here. Don't let it be. In fact, there are schools that have Professional Writing as a major in their Department of English and all they want is your GRE. Consider this. To cap it: On one hand, if you are going ahead with your GRE plans, great. On the other hand, if you are going with the schools requirement, fine. Just give your all to whichever one suits you. I wish you well. |

jagaroberts: Hi NL, I have been following this thread for so long. My question here is, I don't have parents anymore and I will be done with my nysc by july. Please how do I go about the sponsor thing. I have 2.0m in my acct burr I'm not sure that would be enough. Before u start asking how the money came! It's inheritance. Pls how do I go about the sponsor. I also don't have any uncle or relatives who can sponsor me. Thanks all Hello Jaga, Glad your orphanhood isn't affecting your ability to dream and congrats in advance for the successful completion of your service year. May you find the challenges ahead bearable. To your question, how about you talking to a few people where you are presently. They could help. If none is willing to, I believe you can also find a way of legitimately increasing that balance with a few amount. Sir, I want to believe there are schools that will give you admission with that balance. They might be very few though, but you can search and try your hands on some of them. Significantly, your best bet now is to get an offer of admission with finding. Anything otherwise is a NO. With your 2m and a full funding, something pleasant could happen. May the odds be in your favor. |

gik56: Goodafternoon house, i must... the VO sees am stating something different from what he sees on the I20 which is Agriculture, Agriculture Operations. I just need clearification. Thank you Sirs.......PLEASE SIRS I NEED MORE ANSWERS! You need not worry. I graduated from a department with two different majors in Ife. Yet, our admission letters read same thing. You will be fine. Well, for the purpose of the VO, you might as well explain what your admission officer told you. However, getting to print the correspondences won't be a bad idea. I suggest that, please. Importantly, you should know that you are the one that will determine the course of the interview. If the VO asks you what you have been admitted for, tell him/her you desired course and that it's just a school policy to write that on the I20. You are fine. Hakuna matata. |

We have misplaced our communal ethos long ago. Indeed, #ThereWasACountry. Out founding fathers saw a vision of a nation united by love but see where we are. To think Father Nnamdi Azikwe named his son Bamidele points to how ambitious and purpose-driven our fathers were. Here we are, some Yorubas will be abusing the Igbos and Igbos abusing Yorubas on Nairaland. Sad. We need recalibration in this country! |
