How long did you prepare ?
6 days. Those days were for drilling my weakness: Listening.

Broadly, I think two things helped me:
1. I'm a PhD student. Most of the skills being tested shouldn't be a pain in the butt to doctoral students. Particularly, Humanities PhD students.

2. I'm good at PBTs. I can't remember the last time I failed any paper-based test. Even in college. If I had sat for a CBT, I would have underperformed.

Congratulations!
This is the first time I'm seeing 8.5 in Writing, it's like gold these days. Did you write with BC or MOD?
Lol. I think I got 8 or 8.5 in my writing too. cool My IELTS score report looks something like this:

8.5|9|8.5|8
or
8.5|9|8|8.5

Not sure which is which jare. All I wanted then was to prepare enough to max-out, didn't really care that much about individual module.

Please I need guidance.

I registered with WES for evaluation of my Foreign MSc and WAEC.

Upon reading people's responses on here I realised I don't need to evaluate my WAEC.

I have sent an email on the removal however no response. Went on Twitter but still no response.

Any one have an idea on what I can do?
They will remove it. Takes a few days. In addition to your email, you should consider calling them. Had the same issue. What I did was to call them like thrice (I was in the US then, so the call was free.). Not sure I sent any email.

A quick question please.

will WES continue work on degree transcripts pending when WAEC sends confirmation of results?
No. Your evaluation will not start until ALL credentials/documents are received and acknowledged.

Preparing for my next interview, if asked Why is your uncle sponsoring you? Am yet to come up with a convincing response.
I would appreciate suggestions.
Be sincere.

Tell the VO that your uncle is willing to foot the bills because he sees how important this is to your goals in life(?). And maybe because he saw that your dad may not be able to afford it, he wants to come through to help the family. Ultimately, you should be able to convince the VO that your uncle is doing what he is doing out of his love for you. No strings attached. If you can get him to write a letter to that effect, that would also be nice.

You will be fine. Good luck.

I have an MSc from a university in the UK. Do i have to evaluate my B.Eng which is from a Nigerian university as well? I'm trying to avoid complexities (getting transcript, WAEC stuff, etc) if i don't absolutely have to.
Sir, if you would spend just 5 minutes to read through just any 3 pages of this thread, you will find the answer to your question there. Even yesterday, someone addressed a similar question. But here we are again.

Be responsible for yourself. (Please, I'm not saying this to be derogatory, sir. Sincere apologies if you find it so.)

To answer your question, you don't have to evaluate your Nigerian degree if you are using your UK Masters. And you won't be needing WAEC.

There's nothing funny about this. I shouldn't have responded to this but I feel it's important we educate ourselves on how issues of rape shouldn't be taken as jokes. For me, I don't even know you. Yet you are tagging me. What is your aim? What are you trying to achieve? You need to grow up, sir/ma. Since when did we start taking rape issues/allegations as jokes?

Whoever you are, may God restore wisdom to you and dignify your life, in Jesus name.

God bless you.

Thank you very much, I ordered twice & they come on time. Everything seems Ok, Eligibility Met. Same thing with the two of them. I’m tired.
Wow. Don't worry about it, I know it's painful (seeing folks you share AoR with getting their PPR). Your PPR will come this month. God will make it so.

In the meantime, just try as much as you can to keep doing you without distraction. Explore new places. When your PPR comes, you probably might not have time for much flex.

You will be fine. smiley

Hi peeps, please is it advisable to use a newly opened mutual funds investment account as POF, hope it won't raise questions or additional explanations
It won't raise any question. You can use it. If you are using Stanbic IBTC, for instance, the only date you will see on your letter is the date the letter is being issued. So, no worries.

Thanks for the reply, that's good to know. Please did u travel with different airlines? My booking is on two separate tickets by different airlines. Don't know how to go about the baggage part
You are welcome. Because I don't usually check in bags when I travel, I don't have much to say about checked in bags.

But if you are flying, say, Delta and Airfrance, you should be fine. They both have a bilateral arrangement for passengers.

Hope this helps. God bless you.

Hello guys
Please has anyone had a transit at France and didn't use airfrance?
I want to know if I need a transit visa despite having my PR visa on my passport
I have traveled through France many times. I didn't need a transit visa because I had a US visa. The same thing is applicable to having a Canadian visa. You DO NOT need a transit visa.

Bazbaby:
Good Morning, I have beeen a silent reader since January but now I am ready to unveil myself! I started my PR journey in January 2019.

So far:

IELTS completed grin overall 8
Wes accreditation of my masters completed
3 years of work experience

I dived into the pool last week with 451 points but based on recent draws I have to look for ways to boost my points. I am yet to claim any points for my spouse...I am already working towards that.

Please I have three questions that I need answered urgently:
1. If I get a gift deed from my parents, does that money need to be in my account till I get my PR?

This is already answered on page 1. Anyways, to reiterate, no. However, you should note that if you want to move your PoF into something else after AoR, you should be able to produce it whenever there's a request for it. Think about that.

2. I have read that it is better to notorize the gift deed, if I notorize the gift deed do I still need to include the witness signatures (this is based on the format I have seen here on Nairaland)

You really do not need a witness signature. The person gifting the money can as well just write a signed letter stating that you are being gifted money. In essence, you don't need to notarize a gift deed. But if you want to, go ahead.

3. is it possible to book medicals at Qlife before ITA..

I don't know about this. Folks may be able to answer you.

God bless.

Thank you!

I saw two responses above. I agree with them and I don't think hernia surgery is a serious disease. You stated that there were no complications.

If you want to mention it to make you sleep better, you can go ahead. But it is not something you have to have ongoing treatment/monitoring for.
Thank you, sir. Really appreciate.

Good People,

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I need more perspectives on this:

I had an inguinal hernia (a.k.a. sports hernia) surgery 5 years ago. No complications. I started my involvement in sports a month after the surgery.

Do you think I should answer "Yes" to the question asking about "serious diseases or physical or mental disorders" under statutory questions?

Again, thanks in anticipation of your responses.

FamilyRe: What's The Most Annoying Experience You Had With Your Dad? by godG:
My dad did not believe in me. He was always doubting and questioning my choices. Consequently, I have taken most of the important decisions of my life without him.

I had an issue with a result in school back then. I was SO sure the grade I had wasn't mine, that there must have been a mixup. I told my dad about it and he "bullsheeted" me. I was right. There was indeed a mixup.

When I got a scholarship to go to the United States, I had to go for some documentation at the US embassy. When I got back home, my dad legit told me that I was being scammed that I didn't go to the US embassy. That where I went must have been a different place. I decided not to tell him about plans for my travels afterwards.

I officially told my dad I would be traveling out when it was just a couple of days before I left. Mind you, we were living in the same house. If not for my mum that was always showing up in my room as early as 5am to beg me to tell him I would be traveling, I most likely would have just called him from the airport.

After I told him sha, dude was sad. He wanted to give me lots of money. I told him not to mind, that the scholarship was an all-expenses paid one. He sha found a way to put some 50k (Or 100k. Not sure again.) in my bag to spend at the airport.

Today, he is beginning to see me as a man. He listens to me now.

Meanwhile, while my dad was busy making me look incapable of making decisions, my mother was always there for me. She still is. I have never seen anyone who believes in me like my mum. Whenever I tell her stuff, she would just pray for me. She has always been my pillar.

Regardless, I am thankful for both of them. I can't quantify the sacrifices they have made for me.

God bless and keep our parents.

stay positive! all things will work together for our good. Hang in there, it will end in praise.

Big congratulations to all ITA clinchers! I cele rate greatly with all of you! May God see the rest of us through!

I am really worried about the recent spike in draw points. After simulating my crs points, single, bsc, over 3 years work experience, ielts LRWS 9,9,7,7.5,and I will be 30 in August,my points ,using my age as 30 is 433. I am so scared, I do t know if the race will get stiffer..I just want someone to open to, before I use thinking wound myself. I am studying for the bcs exams,to boost my crs points..but I am still scared. When they remove tradeau, won't it get stiffer?

@Topsmamen @ifeoma77 and all the elders ........
Fear not. I also harbored such fear. I first knew about EE in 2016 when I started my MA/PhD program. Then, I was always worried about not having enough CRS points to apply before there would be a change in policy. I wanted to use my MA but that would take 2 years to complete. It was tough. I almost got depressed during that period.

Two years later, I got my MA. However, strangely, EE wasn't even in my plans anymore. I became indifferent. It was only around late March 2019 that a female friend in Canada "pressured" me into action. I yielded to her "pressure". smiley I got my ITA with 481 points yesterday.

So, sister, fear not. Most of the things we worry about do not come to pass.

The cutoffs will drop again. Since you are already making moves, just keep doing what you have to do and trust God. It's just a matter of time. You will be fine.

God bless you.
