As a linguist, let me tell you, your use of dude is demeaning. I'm so sure you wouldn't use that if you are one-to-one with the VO here. Don't be rude and hypocritical! O Beautiful People,
Which is better: 1. Travel with a few dollars, or 2. Travel with my Zenith Master Card that is enabled for foreign channels already?
I think I prefer the second, as I won't mind the charges. But then, I would like to know if there are demerits to that. Are there ATM points in airports?
The thing is that I don't think I have the time for going to banks for any PTA, or going to the money changers.

Guys, I found this Stanford application essay to be irresistible. Damn, if I were the admission officer, I wouldn't offer her the admission alone, I'm so gonna add scholarship to it! The imagination and articulation is just beautiful. Enjoy: godG: Adolf Hitler applied twice to The Academy of Fine Arts, Vienna, before doing what he did.
Hitler’s application did not just turn into a rejection, both times. It changed world history.
1st September 2008: MP Israrullah Zehri comments on the killing of five women for choosing their own spouses. About forced marriages he said, “These are centuries old traditions and I will continue to defend them”.
Abhorred by this statement, I lulled myself to sleep and had a dream:
I dreamt of an acceptance from Stanford where I came in contact with an extremely gifted population of individuals, nourishing my public service experience. Going back to Pakistan I found the state of women no better than what I had left it. Struggling with the patriarchal tyrannical traditions that men conveniently and wrongly term as Islamic, all I could see in the eyes of women was destitute. And so, I dreamt of a change- a revolution. Educating and inspiring women, I aroused in them the feminism that crawled its way through fields as diverse as literature, religion and politics, penetrating every household, echoing in the cry of every woman rallying for her rights. Materializing this approach of upholding ideals in the female population, I dreamt of a land where every woman is free, equal and where I have fulfilled my responsibility.
Then I had another dream. A rather disturbing one. A nightmare actually.
I dreamt of a rejection letter from Stanford. Disappointed, I joined the Pakistani Army. Won Pakistani military honour “Nishan-e-Imtiaz”. I formed my own party “National Feminist Pakistani Workers' Party”, became the first woman president of Pakistan and formed what they called “The Fourth Reich.” The rest…
Too violent for words.
Dreams are bizarre. Aren’t they? But they say dreams can serve as Divine inspiration or a prophecy…
Whatever it is, when you are making the decision of my admission, just remember that you just might be changing the course of history.
The only question remains, which dream do you want to see come true?

Mystiqme: The bolded is your opening.
If you are not in the mood, read only the words in bold.
What do you do when a babe you like tells you she doesn't have a bf?
1. You ping her regularly abi? Open a stream of communication with this guy, but don't overdo it 2. Soon she'll stylishly ask about your gf. You will know there is progress when he asks for GPA, GRE and SOP. 3. You will constantly profess your love for her, and talk about spending a future with her. Talk to this guy about his research, his publications, and what future directions he wants his research to go. 4. You will not talk to her about x in the early days, right? Do not ask about money until you guys are in good communication, or until he raises it.
Finally, while I will not advise you to tell several girls you love them, I will suggest you keep lines of communication open with other profs until you have an offer letter in your hand. Anything can happen.
Just to add a bit to what godG said.
Best. Gbam! Oga Msytiqme don nail am! |

sirRiddy: My people, I need your help here. I sent a professor a mail about working with him on a research project. He replied me this morning. How do guys suggest I do not screw up this chance? What should I wirte and what should I not write?
My mail: Dear Prof. X, I completed my BS degree in Computer Science at ??, ?? last year and currently applying to ?? MS program. Looking through the department website, I have become interested in your research and think I would be a good fit in your research group. I have read your paper, "Simulation of Mobile Treatment Monitoring System" I found on the ACM digital library (www.??.com) and I find it interesting. I was particularly fascinated by the medication adherence tracker simulation as I have been using simulation techniques to test and validate requirements for a Primary Health Care Information System being developed in the Health Informatics lab where I currently intern in Nigeria. Due to the importance of adherence in healthcare, I think this tool should be validated, verified or evaluated to determine it's effectiveness. I believe this is pertinent as the cost and repercussion of non adherence in terms of money and lives is immense especially for cardiovascular diseases. Could this work be extended towards this regard? Do you think it would be worthwhile to pursue this line of research? I would like to know if you would be accepting new graduate students for fall 2016. Thanks very much for your time. I hope we have the chance to speak about research in the future. Sincerely....
His reply: Dear ??, Thanks for your interest. The aforementioned research sure can be extended. Several of my students are graduating and there will be several openings in my lab. Best wishes, This is how you know someone who means business! Start by thanking him for the response and the possible space for research in his lab. Simply tell him how delighted you would be to work with him. Importantly, you should let him know you are turning in your application shortly. EDITED: Riddy, honestly, you are doing well. This is huge. |

I've never done wrong to anyone here yet I am being tagged as a bad person.
Sometimes, I feel if it's the same people fighting me here are fighting my own brother on Twitter.
Just let me be. I am a bad person and they're good people
If I am no more tomorrow, I want you guys to always remember me. Brother, stop this. First, you will live to fulfill purpose. Okay, you want people to remember you? As what? A coward who isn't bold enough to clear all the negatives surrounding his name? Come on, do the needful and save us this stress. Trust me, if you feel some folks here are slandering you or impersonating you, why not contact Justwise? No one is out here to make anyone feel bad. @bold: then something is wrong somewhere. |

@All, leave the young man! The best we can do on here is to tell people not to fall prey of scammers.
DeeTus, I don't know you, brother, but whatever it's that has soiled your character even on a faceless forum like this should be checked. This won't be the first time folks here will question your integrity. I wouldn't know if someone is impersonating, just check whatever it's.
Remember, a man of questionable character will never be right even when there is every reason to believe he is. There will always be that issue of trust. Why not check it or do something about those 'impersonating' you.
Be good. |
