salvatore007:What do I stand to gain if her biz crumbles despite all her years of hardwork? What is showing off in this? Do you know me? What makes you think I have not written more than your lineage put together? Sad. I only talked on the issue objectively and you are here spitting dust!Dear Jesus, when will Nigerians start seeing things the way it should be. Needless to say, when will someone like this salvatore007 start having a working brain? |
People aren't happy with success that is why I blame her for casting her Range. She incited her enemies through that. Many people think Seun is a fool for living a lowkey life. SMH for their ignorance. A chameleon that walks gently dies not to talk of a frog that hits itself on the ground. Dear Linda, the fact that almost everyone copies doesn't make copyright infringement a norm! She should pay if she is guilty. It is sad. Only few blogs in Nigeria will contact you before publishing your work - at least Omojuwa did when he published mine, but I was sad to Google the tittles of my pieces and see them pop-up on many other blogs! It is bad. Besides, if Linda were smart like most people claim, she should have employed the services of a sound lawyer and other professionals long ago to guard what puts food on her table. I do hope Seun is learning. She is a fool to have been late in registering many domain names. I have a blog an I registered the .com and .net despite it being just a blog I created for creating sake. I hope she comes out smarter! |
francisabuah:Create an account on ets.org with the required documents. Pick a test date and center. Pay with a Visa Credit card or Paypal. Print the receipt and you are done. |
I don't see that happening. Most men in Nigerian are male chauvinist. A woman once contested PDP primary, she had been only a vote. She might not even vote herself. ![]() Even if we had one, she won't last. Maximum of 2-3momths and she is dead. |
decreamaster:Walk into any post office (if that is what you call it in America) and tell them you want to post a document to Nigeria, sir. |
uist:1. Sir, it could be hard for someone to. Try locking "list of low tuition universities that offer MSc in..." into Google search bar. Thank Google later for the information you will get. 2. Some universities do waive GRE but mind you, once you have chosen your path of not writing GRE, you must be ready to bear the brunt, if any. 3. Well, IELTS is also a test of English proficiency and I do want to believe most schools accept it. I hope this satisfies your curiosity, sir/ma. |
Ctemi:Since they sent the two at different times (the last being 26th Sept.), count 10 working days from 26th. Sept. and see if you should be worried. If it is up to 10 working days, still give them some time, say at most 20 working days before you start making enqrs from WES. It takes time for regular mail to get to the US. Be calm, ma. All will end well. |
decreamaster:Consider locating someone coming to Nigeria. If you can't, embrace courier. If you can't, just post it and tell your friend to be expecting it in 2 weeks or a month while fasting and praying! |
Ctemi:Usually, delay in evaluation comes from Nigerian schools. I honestly want to believe WES will notify you -by changing your evaluation status- whenever they get response from both schools. Be calm, ma. The best thing you can do is to get footsoldiers that can help you monitor the process in your schools' exams and records unit. |
Ctemi:Yes. (But sorry, I'm not bbdd.) |
Mystiqme:Yes o. Spent 4 years in Awo. |
slimmy05: Hahaha... you keep reminding me of that! 4 months to go, man! Insha Allah! I go shoot you a PM soon. |
opad:Sadly, I'm in one thick forest in Nigeria. ![]() |
opad:You're welcome, sir. I have a 'bad' habit of reading up posts of our ogas here. From imperiouxx to GboyegaD to Mystiqme to MsNas, to those who don't come here again like before. I can practically tell you what each of these nice people faced in their application process: their e-fights, anxiety, interview, travel, etc. ![]() Okay, instead of sensing through mail at extra cost, why not scan you certificate to someone in the US to post for you? That will be faster and more reliable. |
opad:EKSU replies through email. Re: General U.S.A (student) Visa Enquiries by imperiouxx: 10:22pm On Aug 16 , 2011 @kaycome, I used wes. Their service is good but takes like 1.5 to 2 months if no delay. If you are applying for spring, it is better you start sending your transcript to wes tomorrow. It takes 2wks to reach them, 3 to 5 days for them to tell you they have sent the photocopies back to your school in Nigeria for verification(that one too takes another 2wks to reach Nigeria and 3 to 5 days to reach your school) -- They don't use courier for this ooo. Then, your school will reply them through the email they only disclose to schools. After that, your status will changed to ''evaluation in progress''. This takes 7 days to complete. After that, 1 copy will be send to the school you applied to and 1 copy to you. Add all the days together and tell me how many days. Note: no matter how many avalanche of mails you send them, they will not reply you once they have sent the photocopies for verification. If you feel like your school didn't get it, you can request for resending to your school. |
dicapino:Sir, calm down. If you have a valid address, time will tell. |
How many months do we have to go? 4 I think... ![]() |
Where are these people? lisadem, FindOut, foohard, flynbird, kunlebal, Technolee, Virgin Ice, RickyRozzay, Yvete, kofsy, babsharon, Olarwarlay, Mamacinta, etc. I do hope all is well with you there. Keep holding on! |
Please, any PG student in University of Alberta here? |
phemix:Please, let them know the (negative) effect of that on your visa application. Tell them. If they want you, they should bend! |
phemix:Sir, why can't they give you a graduate I20 that states the fact that you are auditing some courses on arrival? The VOs won't see it like that. It is like a bad PR to your intellect. Talk to your advisor. |
opad:Separate envelope. As in one for your transcripts, the other for ur certificate. Do not write anything on the envelope that contains your transcript. It should be as if your school is the one sending to WES. |
kennyrony:Ko t'ope, sir. Summer? I don't get that. Basically with admissions, Spring=January. Fall=August/Sept. I think most schools are on vacation during summer. Sir, you need not rush. Usually, people find it great applying towards fall. Cost. It depends. In my own case, I spent around 60k. I think the ICAP service (which you should go for) is $185 or so. You don't need to indicate any recipient of your evaluated transcripts now since you really need your evaluated CGPA to determine your choice of school. Just arrange for ICAP and after evaluation, you use $50 to request for evaluated transcripts to be mailed to your desired school with $7 for standard delivery. Well, it depends on your actual undergraduate CGPA but traditionally, on a 4-point scale, Nigerians fare well when evaluated. In your case, pray it's either it is a bit raised or equal to what you have. |
kennyrony:1. Forget January 2015. Target Fall 2015, sir. With that, you will have time to apply and not a fire brigade approach type of application. 2. Evaluating one's transcripts is quite straightforward: a. Create an account on WES. b. Pay the service fee depending on one you want. c. Print the transcript request form from your WES' account and take it to your school to... d. ...arrange for your transcripts and Certificate from your school. e. Your school will send the transcripts, you send the photocopy of your certificate ( don't send your original certificate o). f. WES will acknowledge receipt of the documents after which they will send a mail/fax/email back to your school for verification. g. After the verification from your school, WES will notify you that your evaluation should be ready in few days time. h. WES sends evaluated transcripts to your desired address. 3. Based on you evaluated CGPA, you can then start searching for schools, get sharp letters of recommendation, statement of purpose, thick GRE and/or TOEFL scores, then apply. I hope this helps, sir. |
francisabuah:Unfortunately, I doubt if I'm within your reach. Only if you are in the North Central part of the country. Your best bet now is to open (register for) a PayPal account. After that, you will see a menu, 'Get Verified', click on it and enter your card details. $1.85 will be deducted from your account and a 4-digit code will be sent to you via a debit alert. Enter the code in a box that will pop-up and you are good to go. Mind you, the debit alert for the $1.85 might not be sent instantly, depending on your bank. However, if you subscribe to Internet banking, you can check your statement of account online and the code will be included. If your bank is funny as mine, you might need to enter your bank for them to print your SOA that will reflect that particular transaction for you. All things being equal, it shouldn't take more that 5mins to open a verified PayPal account. |
francisabuah:Get someone with a verified PayPal account to do that for you. I ordered for additional score report withy PayPal on Thursday. |
nikas0005:But he explained why na. Personally, I'm also not in support of any formula for visa procurement. Each applicant's case is unique. |
opad: Friends, October 31 is deadline for many universities for spring which I intend enrolling for Master's. Most require WES transcript evaluation which I've been processing for about 3 months now, you know how our uni's are. I learnt it would be ready next week, then I'll despatch to DHL straight to WES. Considering the processing times of contacting my Uni etc, October 31 might not be feasible I fear.Sorry about that. A few schools do accept scanned documents. Sadly, I can't remember any. People in he house go help. Coupled with what other will give you, a few minutes of search on the Internet will give you great results. But sir, if I may ask, which school is using 3 months to process your transcripts? Are you applying for the first time? Even if you are, it shouldn't take more than a month, in the worst instance. Some schools need recalibration! The challenge is that a school that took forever to give you your transcripts might take eternity to reply WES' verification mail. WES isn't the issue, usually, it is the lackadaisical, corrupt and lazy attitudes of staffs of the exams and records units of our universities. May God deliver us from us. Contrarily, my first transcripts application took just 2 weeks and subsequent copies are always gotten in a day or 2. |
Gaskia, NIPOST make sense sha! 10 working days ago, posted a document to the US with just #500 and now the receipt has been acknowledged. |
Well, polygamy for me has been good, interesting, bad, and thoughtful. It has made me to learn how to be diplomatic. I think most folks from a polygamous family have the tendency of being smart. However, it is something I won't pray for anyone. ![]() |
