The Benue State Police Command received a distress call yesterday 4/1/2018 that, along Makurdi-Gboko road, a Toyota Camry was being attacked by some hoodlums on motorcycles.

However, the driver was able to drive smartly into the Police Training School, where a Police Response Team immediately met him.

Inquiry revealed that the Hausa family was heading to Calabar from Makurdi, but had a punctured tyre at Wannune, where the hoodlums attacked them. Although, the vehicle was damaged, none of the occupants sustain any injury.

Escort was provided to the family by the Police Team, who postponed the journey to enable them repair the damaged vehicle.

Orphan identified as Basirat has been handed over to the Lagos state Government, After been repeatedly sexually abused by her sister's husband, and School Teacher.
Basira who lived with her sister in the Ajah area of Lagos State, after her parents died in 2014 when she was barely 15, was deflowered by her teacher 34yr old Folorunsho Joseph after he drugged her.

Then Her sister’s husband, 37-year-old Mukaila Bello, allegedly took advantage of the incident and defiled her repeatedly until she became pregnant 3 times.

Bello, an indigene of Kwara State, has four children and works with a charity organisation on Victoria Island, Lagos State. After forcing Basirat to have an abortion in a chemist’s, Bello was alleged to have continued to have sex with her until she became pregnant the second time. .

He allegedly took her to a hospital in the Orile area of the state where another abortion was carried out. The victim reportedly informed her grandparent, who relocated her to the Ijebu Ode, Ogun State to live with some in-laws. .

Bello allegedly visited and defiled her at the new place, which resulted in a third pregnancy. He was said to have made her to have an abortion for the third time. The victim’s family members subsequently petitioned the Lagos State Office of the Public Defender. .

Basirat was taken to the Mirabel Centre, Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, where medical tests were carried out on her. The test results reportedly confirmed that she was defiled. .

The daughter of the man with whom Basirat lived in Ijebu Ode, Kaosara, said Bello was known to her family as Basirat’s boyfriend. .

Officials of the OPD were said to have reported the case at the Area J Police Command, Elemoro, and the suspect was arrested. The teacher who first raped her in 2014 and one of those who conducted the abortions have also been arrested. .

The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Chike Oti, also confirmed the incident, adding that the suspects had been arraigned in court on Friday.

A Nigerian man named Fakorede Sola, has taken to Facebook to lament his loss after his farm was set on fire by suspected Fulani herdsmen in Ekiti state. According to the distraught man, he invested his live savings on the farm because of the passion he has for farming before it was set on fire by the herdsmen because they were warned to stop their activities on the farm.

Four Years ago, I went back to to the farm.Invested my life savings and borrowed more money from friends. Took bank loan. Considering the future and invested in my passion. Got labour from locals and also employed few from Benin Republic.

Planted over 4,000 stands of palm tree; over 2,000 stands of plantain; over 500 stands of cashew and about 300 stands of Cocoa.

I was always excited traveling to Ekiti twice a month from my base in Lagos to monitor the progress of my passion and investment.

Unfortunately, my hope was dashed this morning when I got the call that Fulani Herdsmen set my farm ablaze last night. Just because they were warned by my workers to stop their activities on the farm.

The President of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore Socio-cultural Association, Bello Abdullahi Bodejo has warned that they will resist any attempt to remove President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019.

Bodejo warned that Nobody should try and remove Buhari, adding that the eyes of the Fulani all over the country have 'opened'. Speaking to Sun, Bodejo said;

"Nobody should try to remove Buhari in 2019. All the Fulani in Nigeria today, our eyes are open. All of us are behind Buhari; we have seen that they want to destroy the Fulani because of Buhari.

We would not allow anybody to intimidate the Federal Government or to take Buhari’s mandate; we would be ready to follow him and fight it. He also reacted to ex-president, Olusegun Obasanjo's letter to the president criticizing his performance. Bodejo said;

You know that Obasanjo is now a real politician. But to tell Buhari not to run in 2019, he does not have the power because he has only one vote like any other person. What I can assure you is that 87 percent of Nigerians are with Buhari in the race for 2019. Nobody would allow him to poison people’s mind. Those people in the Bush do not know whether Obasanjo asked Buhari not to run for re-election in 2019. I want to also commend some governors who are supporting the government. I thank the 16 governors who have already agreed to give space for the cattle colonies. Obasanjo tore his PDP card in 2015 but he cannot do that to the APC."

The spokesperson for the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), Prof Ango Abdullahi, has described the herdsmen crises in the Middle Belt as a plot by the South to divide the monolithic north.

PoliticsNGR gathered that Abdullahi also dismissed the report on Restructuring by the APC, saying that it is the position of some party leaders and not Nigerians. In an interview with Sun, Abdullahi said;

"That is the bottom line. It is politically driven. We have been having herdsmen for over 200 years or 300 years ago in Nigeria, particularly we in the North. I haven’t seen how this crisis between farmers and herdsmen would lead to attacks and loss of lives.

This is a politically driven agenda, perhaps, intended to split the monolithic North; we have been talking about the monolithic North for a long time politically in this country.

I have been involved in debates against some respected people from the southern part of this country who believe that this country is not balanced because the North is too big; because the North is too politically united, so there must be a way of disrupting this unity, and this is what we are seeing on ground today, and the elements that are being used are the Fulani herdsmen.

This matter would be looked at properly; political alliances and so on are welcome. You don’t need to lose blood, or property to engage in political alliance or whatever you want, or still, you don’t need to introduce excuses that will lead to loss of lives. We saw this when the Boko Haram was on ground; they said the Northerners created the sect to disrupt former President Goodluck Jonathan’s government,  which led to his failure in the last election, and so on.

Now that Boko Haram is out of the way, the new excuse is the Fulani herdsmen.

This is what is happening in other places except in areas that you are talking. We have seen what they called a new handshake across the Niger; it is political, and we have seen the mourning that has taken place in Benue and other places to show that the northern North is not in tandem with the Middle Belt; it is all politics. Our Middle Belters don’t need to take the agenda that appears to be a thing of distrust. We are not going to force anybody into a relationship politically or otherwise. We see this as a political agenda."

Confirmed reports have it that Fulani herdsmen went on a fresh rampage in Taraba State Thursday night,10 hours after Governor Darius Ishaku raised the alarm that they were coming. Four persons ,including a couple ,were murdered at Ngutwsem village in Gassol local government area in the night attack.

The couple were named as Mr. Shiriga Vaawombo and his wife, Ngunan.

A relation who witnessed the invasion said that as soon as Shiriga heard the first sound of gun shots,he took his wife to a place outside their house where he thought she could be safe before they were both killed.

The villagers hurriedly used blunt diggers and hoes to dig graves to bury the victims.

A day after they gave him the money and came back that night in there numbers with guns and matchet and cleared the entire man's family just because of cows.

The question here is why will they kill four lives in such a painful and unholy way? Is it because they demanded for there right? Is there another motive behind the attack? Are the cows now important than human lives? Are these people also from another land and unknown?

Answers to the above questions will be a factor to get to the root of those sponsoring these continues killings because those that committed this very evil are resident of that village and must never be allowed to go Scott free

Main while resident are parking out of the area for fear of another attack. A eye witness told me that he saw over 20 of the herdsmen all with AK47 and matchet.
