My elder sister’s PPR just dropped and I wanted to drop her timeline to strengthen everyone that is expectant!

Biometrics July 28

Coming to do Associate of Arts (2 years course)
2 siblings in Canada
Bank statement of 30,000 cad
Sponsor (her younger sis in Canada)

please if you book an Airbnb for two weeks, how do you feed yourself because they said you can't go out during quarantine or do you cook?

as long as you don’t go to places that you be tracked you can go out, just don’t get into any trouble that would require you saying you just came in. I went out everyday during my 14 days quarantine. TB- don’t go to do any of those official things too (SIN, Bank and all that) just do non official things and you’re good

The letter of authorization is that letter they sent to you after passport request saying “ your application to study in Canada has been approved”

LANDING GIST

Let me start by apologizing for going MIA, a lot of running around.

I got to the Abuja airport around 10am (plenty traffic i wan cry) boarding starts by 11:30am. Met the First Lady who scanned some of my documents (Covid test result and passport), moved to the next queue where they asked what was in my bag and opened to check, the man just scanned through and zipped it back, I moved on to the next queue and the lady requested for my enrollment letter, passport, Covid test result and arrivecan (Omo i filled the arrivecan oo, even printed it out sef) but she said mine had issues and i couldn’t board (in my mind, my village people have found me ooo) she even assigned one of the staffs to help me but to no avail, others had already started boarding and i couldn’t cos arrivecan is a must ooo, finally the lady decided to have mercy and clear me to board without it, I checked my bags in (exact 50kg) I had two hand luggages (a small box and laptop bag) that they didn’t scale or check in. I moved on to board and passed the last groups who didn’t ask for anything asides passport and what are you going for and where. I boarded and we took off, we stopped at Addis Abiba and i boarded another flight to Toronto (we didn’t waste time, just keep reading the signs and locate your next boarding gate) we got to Toronto and first things first, I filled my details into one system and it generated a receipt which i used to proceed,i queued for the first immigration officer who asked for arrivecan and i explained ( he said it’s from the vaccine i took cos I’m fully vaccinated) he asked me to fill on paper this time and that was all, after that I proceeded to the main immigration and it took 1 hour 30 before it finally got to my turn and the lady only asked for passport and letter of authorization, ( she asked which of my courses I’m looking forward to studying and i told her) she printed and gave me study permit, then read the 20 hours work a week rules, omo nobody asked me for how much i had oo or even statement of account wey i carry. ( I had already missed my connecting flight to Vancouver) I went to fly Canada check in and they put me on the next flight which was scheduled to leave in 30 minutes.I had to go pick all my luggages and check them in to my next flight at the Toronto airport, the immigration officer didn’t ask me about vaccine or ask me to quarantine or even where i have in mind ooo(I sha got quarantine update from my arrivecan app and I’ve been filling it daily). I boarded my flight to Vancouver and when i landed there was no more documentation, or anything, I just picked my luggages and ran to my sister. Ethiopian airlines served me 6 meals from Nigeria to Toronto and they were all nice food with any drink of your choice ( I would actually recommend them) plus they had nice movies ooo.

I return all glory to God for making this possible and here is a thank you to my naira land family. Thank you team

They’ll ask you to start with foundation class and if you pass, you continue to your masters! Once you have a 2.2 in that sch, it’s foundation

Pls, for those that has travelled to CA with ethiopian airline. Pls is TRANSIT VISA required at the airport during verification of documents?

I am asking because, most of the Ethiopian flights traveling btw now and January are going to have a layover at Dublin which I am skeptical mayb a transit visa will be required.

Pls kindly share ur experience if you have recently used the airline.

I know of someone that traveled of recent using Ethiopian airways without a transit visa, they didn’t even come down from the plane sef, just stopped for fuel. So no, you don’t need a transit visa

There is no specific amount you need to have but once you are carrying more than 10k CAD in cash you have to declare it before traveling and as soon as you get into Canada.
Some over sabi visa officers will at you at the port of entry for statement of account and you can go ahead and present your sponsors statement of account. Make sure it’s the updated one.

A recent CBN update on guidelines for obtaining PTA now allows students with one-way ticket to get PTA.

This update came into effect about a week or 2 weeks ago. A very close friend of mine travelling to UK this week with one-way ticket got hers ($4,000) yesterday from Stanbic IBTC Bank.

If your travel date is within 2 weeks from now, you may want to give it a shot and update us.

I went to GT Bank yesterday ooo! Nothing come out, they said you must have a two way ticket that proves you’re coming back.

I think it will be best you claim that your family friend is your relative and attach photos and anything that proves relationship with sponsor cause i think (my own thoughts ooo) the VO will question why just a family friend will want to spend such amount of his money on sending you to sch in Canada. My two cents

When you input the tracking number given to you by dhl what does it show? And they must have given you two tracking numbers if you did to and fro. The return tracking number is actually what you should be checking now

Abuja received my passport on Monday cos i sent Friday evening, they sent counterfoil and LOI on Tuesday, sent passport back to ph on Wednesday. Dhl delivered to me this afternoon. Omo this stamp fine goooooooooooonnnnnnnnn. Glory be to GOD!!

Good afternoon team, I sent my passport to Abuja last week Friday and i haven’t received any message saying it’s been received, I checked my GCKEY today and saw counterfoil update with December 2023 expiry. Biko what does counterfoil mean?
