Jewel80: hmmmmm @Jewel80, this sounds like a good idea. I just checked my company name now and realized that they spaced the two names out. Initially, when i checked i didn't see it and kept typing the name in different ways before I saw my name and realized that there is a space in-between. So i will do the screenshot for them in advance and add to my application. I can't shout. It will end in praise. goingforward. |

Hello Nairalanders, For the Digital photo we are meant to upload, are we supposed to paste on word or PDF or just upload like that as a picture? I am submitting via the online route. Also for the signature for the CIC forms, can we use an e-signature instead of printing and signing? Please advise. Goingforward. |

BoystoMen: Hello @BoystoMen, I think you should address travel history. Yes, you are right about the fact that travel history is not a problem as many have gotten study permits and TRV's with zero travel history. But since it was flagged, if I were to play the devil's advocate as a VO, maybe they may be thinking that you are very comfortable, with so much money in your account you are a middle or high-class elite as you and your hubby is doing very well. Then if that is the case, why have you not traveled out of Nigeria before for maybe work or a vacation? Now you are considering traveling, why is Canada the first place you choose to go to? why not another country? Why can't you do an MBA here in Nigeria? So addressing these areas in your SOP and may stating that your job hasn't required you to travel or maybe you have been tied down with work bla bla bla will convince the VO in your reapplication. This will also clarify the purpose of study. Add this, look at your notes once it arrives, add other suggestions from other people here and you will be fine. I wish you success. goingforward 3 Likes |

BoystoMen: Hi BoystoMen, In addition to what Frankrobbn1 said, Just to ask, have you traveled anywhere else outside of Nigeria before? Did you include birth certificate of your children? An SOP would have addressed and explained the reasons which may have led to the refusal, like explaining why the program why now, why canada? Because i think from the POF you are in good standing. My thoughts. goingforward. |

Hi @edosunday1, I am a sister not a brother. I only just helped with my two cents. I am not sure I am in a position to extend any expert advice. The reason is that I have not submitted my application myself. I probably may be in a better position to advice more when i have applied and gotten my study permit which i am presently working achieving by the Grace of the almighty God . There are more seniors and experts in this group that can help. Feel free to reach out to them. goingforward. |

edosunday1: Hello @edosunday1, I also have a suggestion for you. I think its best to satisfy the VO's concern regarding the source of funds. Since you state that the funds were liquidated from money invested in treasury bills and fixed deposit, why not get the portfolio statement from your bank and a letter of reference for the liquidated funds. ( The bank will willingly give this to you). This will go a long way in proofing the source of funds. In my own case, ( even though I am yet to submit), i am not liquidating my investments yet, but I have a letter from the bank with the details of my investment and also stating that it can be liquidated at any time by me. I also have a bank reference letter to back this up. This should help. Goingforward. 1 Like |

Austinpee4: Hi @Austinpee4, Thanks for your response. Someone referred me to also check online just to be double sure and i checked. I came across this link below on CIC website. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/temporary-residents/study-permits/guidelines-on-minor-children.html Below reveals that minors applying from outside Canada should apply for a study permit. 3 Likes

Hi Nairalanders, My second time posting this, can someone help with answer this below: I decided to go the online route. Please for the online application form for my kids, do I have to choose ''studying'' or choose ''visit.'' My kids will be staying with me. I noticed that what i chose to study it generates a ''study permit application form.'' My kids are 5 & 6. I am not also sure what to fill in the school name and other details. My question is do i say they are studying or do I choose ''visit?'' If I choose ''study'' it is asking me questions about their school etc. Please help. what do i choose and fill? Can somoene who has filled an online study application for kids advise me, please? goingforward. |

Frankrobbn1: @Frankrobbn1, Well someone here advised that its important for each person to do research on your own as well, even though that you may also seek to advise here, so i have been doing some extensive research about the entire Canada study process. Still, No man is an island. In the multitude of counsel, there is safety. This forum has been very helpful and still is with people like you here. Gracias. goingforward. 2 Likes |

Frankrobbn1: Hi Frankrobbn1, Sure there are other miscellaneous, however, education is free for kids up till 18years. I think even at that it would not be up to 20million. ( i am assuming that Oka's kids are not up to 18 yet). I know people who did this and got it without having up to that. I think that Okka should asides from the stipulated amount from CIC make provision for the following: Return Ticket for a family of 5 * Miscellaneous during the study (maybe 5k or 10kCAD) Use CIC as a guide and add some miscellaneous. ( So that they know that you are taking your family into consideration) Also is your spouse applying for SOWP or Visit, that again is another consideration. ( if your spouse would be working, then they would be supporting financially, CIC will consider this). These are just my thoughts. Goingforward. 1 Like |

Frankrobbn1: I am a bit confused with your response and i disagree. For a family of 5 for 1 year living expenses is 10kCAD (for primary applicant) + 4kCAD for 1 (adult dependent) and three children 3kCAD each This sums up to 23kCAD In naira its about 6.5million. (1year living expenses) Please, how did you arrive at 20million Going forward. 1 Like |

I am also applying with my company documents. Please advice on how you were able to put in all these documents for your online application. I am trying to put mine and i don't want to reduce the image to small such that the VO isn't ab;e to read them You said that you application was done online right? Please help. goingforward. |
