Kog45: Oga it's the system not the players, the same Simon Moses was awesome during 2018 WC qualifiers,so let stop blaming the players but the system We can’t continue to make excuses with the system, our players lack the hunger we see their fellow Europe based players express when playing for their African teams. Some 94 set players have always mentioned how they abandon coaches instructions at times to get results for the national team, apart from 2 or 3 players in this current squad we don’t see such hunger, desire or initiative |

jedisco: He chased the wrong cohort though I believe he underestimated the issues around boat crossings. 'Smash the gangs' was never a sensible idea.
My other issue is that recent happenings has emboldened every riff-raff to the point where overt racial abuse is becoming commonplace It’s a foretaste of what is still in the offing when Reform gets into Downing Street though the blow back will eventually regulate it. The current template in the US is what has actually emboldened every thing, will be interesting to see how the midterms elections go next year to see whether things can still go in the reverse if not then we are in it finally for the long ride. |

Jamesclooney: These Labour politicians are quite naive, I must say. What was the point of releasing all that personal information and backstory, and of Keir Starmer backing her at PMQs, if she was going to resign anyway? Why make her exit needlessly painful and drawn-out? Truly, this government is inching closer to a General Election, and that’s not good news for immigrants. Smh Broken focus, the government lost it when it was trying to fight too many battles at the same time. Sometimes it pays to just stick to your party ideology and close your ears to things that oppose that ideology. No matter what you do, folks are not going to agree with everything you offer. Starmer joining politics late has come to bite him in the end. The job of a PM is never an entry-level role. As for immigrants, the die is cast. The reason why some of us are advocates of alternate plans, no hiding place, whatever we're being served, we've got to accept or deal with it. So many casualties already, so no surprises ahead. |

amaridigital: Abi o. Billionaires and popular musicians, footballers always go to jail for tax evation. Nobody likes taxes and no Go fails to collect taxes except Nigeria. We were growing up we use to see tax men roaming the streets asking for evidence of tax payment but not anymore because politicians prefer sharing oil money and never care about real development. Nigeria's oil money is not enough for 4m people talkless of 250m people. The painful thing is that the rich are the ones who always want to evade taxes, while only the working class (lower-income and middle-income earners) pay taxes consistently all over the world. And as for Nigerians, like someone said, they just want to enjoy the gains of capitalism in a socialist manner |
Politics › Re: FG Makes Tax Identification Mandatory For Banking, Allied Services by Goke7: 12:46pm On Sep 05, 2025 |
Hamachi: While the government’s intention to strengthen tax compliance is understandable, making a Tax Identification Number (Tax ID) compulsory for basic financial services such as banking, insurance, and stock investments could end up punishing ordinary Nigerians more than it benefits the economy.
Millions of Nigerians are still outside the tax net, and many operate in the informal sector where income is unstable and poorly documented. Forcing them to obtain a Tax ID before they can open a bank account or access financial services could push people further away from the formal economy, defeating the very goal of broadening the tax base.
Instead of compulsion, government should first build trust and simplicity in the tax system. Nigerians already feel burdened by multiple taxes and levies, often without seeing the benefits in infrastructure, healthcare, or security. Until accountability and service delivery improve, making Tax IDs mandatory for financial inclusion may look less like reform and more like another barrier.
True progress will come from policies that encourage voluntary compliance, supported by technology, awareness, and incentives — not by shutting the door of the banking hall against those who are already struggling to survive. Nobody anywhere in the world likes to pay tax, even government officials in developed countries also dodge taxes until they are caught, so waiting for everybody to trust the government on accountability and service delivery means they will wait forever and keep on giving excuses for non-development or provision of basic amenities. Voluntary compliance does not exist anywhere! |

lovewins: It's a lesson for our players in contract negotiations. Painting the clubs in bad light is the lazy way out, because at the end of the day it's a business and clubs have a fiduciary duty to do what's best for their bottom line. We can't always tow the line of sentiments particularly when said clubs haven't violated the terms of the agreed upon contracts.
Also, verbal promises aren't binding on both parties. While it may reflect poorly on morals, you're allowed to go back on your word. Mbappe promised PSG he wouldn't leave for free but he went back on his words. Nigerian players need to plan their exist when signing contracts with clubs. Include a buyout clause and you won't need to beg your way out of a contract. Exactly there’s nothing like employee loyalty in today’s world that’s why I laugh at those always talking about pay cut as if the clubs buying you are also willing to take a pay cut to sell you to others. It’s your game to play, no sentiments. |

Ragingthunder: Speaking on his YouTube channel, Oliseh insists that Osimhen and Lookman were unable to join a big club this summer because of the Super Eagles' failures in recent years This is debatable as both players were just APOTYs in recent years, as a mater of fact both players are kind of pioneers like the Oliseh set who paved the way for other Nigerians to become more marketable in Europe! The last Afcon despite we coming second beam the searchlight more on Nigerian players. Europe is just becoming less liberal these days where resources are becoming scarce hence the lesser opportunities for our guys especially when they are older. You can’t say with the last Afcon performance the eagles have been failures, that performance gave Lookman the APOTY. |

Nevertheless, Airpeace certainly would not have requested FG assistance for this route as it is unlikely to be Airpeace's priority.
This is something that Airpeace usually gains by themselves without government assistance.
Learned that Airpeace had already been offered the route even before the Tinubu trip. Why don’t you wait till flights commence to know whether there is demand or not |
