RollinTNDA: When I knew Democracy is Scam
When Pontus Pilate did election
And plenty jews voted Barnabas the criminal against Jesus Christ
Democracy means the highest number of people are right and must be obeyed.
It doesn't matter if they are clueless or tribalistic or have huge bias against you. Democracy says they are right. Just because they are large in number.
Politicians understand this loophole and they are milking it heavily over here Democracy is never the absence of terrible leadership or leaders, it only aids in holding leaders to account and stopping leaders from being in total control perpetually reason you have terms or tenure of office! That’s what democracy does! The opposite is full dictatorship and it becomes a problem once that leader cannot be removed either by impeachment or his tenure ends. Anyone saying democracy will bring you heaven on earth is exaggerating as it only reduces crisis or prevent full blown leadership crisis or dictatorship. The other alternative is war that you can’t know when it may end |

TheGoodJoe: Even Messi had to sacrifice lots of flair to fit in. Players like Zlatan were still caught up in individual accolades but the system changed because with the rise of tactical defending, the only way to success was united team play. How much did Messi actually sacrifice after collecting so many accolades for many years, to the detriment of many others? He was just a beneficiary of an initial system that later gave way to another system that deprived so many of such accolades. |

TheGoodJoe: Unfortunately there is no room for artist in modern day football.
The art lies in teamwork and not individuals. The same artistry is what announced both messi and Ronaldo to the world and it’s in their era the focus on individuality started dying off reason why the extra focus and accolades on them for far too long despite many other great or even greater individuals than them who had to sacrifice their own individual style all in the name of the modern game. In fact in Barca every player had to sacrifice their own style for messi which was irritating to players like the swede Ibramohvic |

Bumzz00: Hi Everyone,
I need advise from gurus and well experienced people please.
I currently work in a local NHS with an annual income of £29907 before tax, due to increase to £33000 before tax in few months. I currently do not spend a penny on transportation with free staff bus available to and fro work and i enjoy as much flexibility as i wish to have with a daily commute of about 30 mins to and fro. I save quite a good amount monthly and spend even more less on feeding and housing cost about £700-£800 monthly.
I recently got a job offer in central London with a salary of £42000 before tax (a more senior but similar role as my current). By my rough calculation transportation monthly will cost me roughly £607.42 monthly excluding feeling and other misllc and daily commute of about 3hrs to and fro
Now i am confused if i should take the offer or not. Saying Local or commuting to the city. This is a bit tricky but at the end of the day besides costs what does the new job really offer you? Does it offer better career advancement prospects? Do a cost benefit analysis and decide! Making a decision based on cost alone at times may see you missing out on the bigger picture! I don’t want to be in your shoes honestly and I pray you make the right decision, cheers! |

jedisco: Hehe... so much ado. It'd be alright in the end Labour dropped the ball on this and it wasn't difficult to predict. They believed their electoral narrative. The opposition speaks against anything the ruling party does- the ultimate downside of tribal politics . However, they should have a clear-headed team working on policy.
It's quite clear to anyone who has seen immigration from both ends that the tide would only continue (and get larger) if there was no deterrent. They could have piloried the conservatives but still used the Rwanda scheme while creating safe means to apply. With the cost if living crises, it's virtually impossible to convince anyone to accept tax rises when they feel those coming via boats are given a free pass.
The next quagmire awaiting them is their inability to raise government revenue while also rapidly cutting legal migration (and likely growth). Ultimately, Rachel would break some of her pledges.
All said, in a system like the UK, I'd much rather Farage as PM than be influencing policy on the sidelines. This issue about those coming via boat is much deeper than what we all know and the politicians including those on the sidelines know it’s not as direct as everyone thinks. I just laugh at all the ideas being thrown here and there. This country can’t survive without those coming via boats and it’s a whole very long value chain that’s a different conversation altogether. The day any govt irrespective of party truly finds a way without those folks, in just hours it will cease but for now it’s a nice political tool for anyone eyeing Downing Street! For me as a tax payer I just look away! This country is too large even if they remove those folks from the hotels they will always find a way or place to house them so is it that wherever they place them people will continue to go wherever they are to protest? It remains to be seen. |

That dude is just being ignorant. You're the one pursuing agenda here by looking to delegitimise OBJ to cover up the inadequacies of your tin god No dude you have to factor other essentials of living which you did in your earlier post! Kukutente23: I already told you you're using outdated stats. The services sector which banking and telecoms is a part of is the largest contributor to Nigeria's GDP. That of agric is old story. It's obvious you don't travel a lot. If you do, you'll know that trading employs the largest number of Nigerians not agriculture. People are now engaged in groceries shops and buying and selling even up to Mallam's from the north. Almost every corner and street has shops in Nigeria today.
I was not a worker in 2008. I was a university student. I've shown you and the other guy with facts that someone earning 20k was better off than someone earning 210k today. Even electricity bill alone in today's Nigeria is totally crazy. You mentioned rent. How much was a single room in 2008 in Lagos compared to today? You obviously was not working then so you can never ascertain that 20k was better off bruv but just to extrapolate and there’s no way 20k despite with fuel subsidy then will afford accommodation and other basics in 2008. Anyone saying that is not realistic |

Kukutente23: You don't know me. So don't hide under calling me a kid. Let's stick to the fact. 20k in 2008 was about 300% of the minimum wage then. If we extrapolate it to today, that should be around 210k for the 70k minimum wage. Now I'm asking you how many people are earning 210k today as farm manager in Nigeria. Besides as at the exchange rate of N85 to a dollar then, 20k you're earning will be $235. As at today, 210k which is the direct equivalent in wage terms is $140. So are you richer or poorer than the equivalent earner today? Answer that yourself! I won't even go into rent issues. That's a totally dead end.
Telecoms and banking are part of the services sector of the economy. Comparing them directly with agriculture which is a sector on its own shows you don't even understand what is being said here. Under Agric, we have livestock, crop, agric processing etc. More importantly, agriculture largely exist in the informal sector of the economy while telecoms and banking are part of the organised private sector which is what I'm referring to. Those two are easily the largest employer of labour in the organised sector. That said, if we're to go to the informal sector, I believe that claim that Agric is the largest employer is outdated. Most Nigerians today are into trading. From petty trading to larger shops and outlets. Trading is the largest employer of llabour in today's Nigeria not agriculture Agric is still the largest employer of labour and largest gdp contributor in Nigeria so get your facts right or research on it. There are no large or small shopping outlets in many towns and villages in Nigeria abeg fear God! And your extrapolation and you know it does not verify in any terms that earning 20k in 2008 in Nigeria means I was well off than those even earning 200k today again fear God. I know the agenda you’re trying to pull but it can’t work. Oya tell me how much you were earning in 2007 or 2008 if truly you’re working then! |

With 20k in 2001 or 2003 you can buy 800 to 900 litres of fuel today you can get only 23 litres of fuel.
Nigeria was way better then than now. The fact u don't have it then means u were unemployed or under employed then.
In 2005 if u are working in the banking sector then u will be comfortable. If u are a lecturer earning 150k as a family then u are comfortable and more than ok. But today any earning 300k is like a poor man.
What i mean is that today the middle income earners have been wiped off.
Nigerian per capital income was placed around 1800 then. Today is less than 800. How many people the banks could employ back then? this banking sector criteria you guys are using to say Nigerians were richer back then is flawed. Kukutente23: So your new excuse is that telecoms and banking do not employ millions directly? What a joke!! Sounds more like bad belle. Telecoms and banking are easily the two biggest employers of labour in the private sector. Every part of Nigeria you go to, you're sure to see a banking and/or telecoms worker even in less developed states. Name one sector with such spread in the private sector. You were earning 20k in 2007/08 and you said you weren't earning well? 20k then was like x3 of the minimum wage. Do you know that there are people that earn 50k today, which is even below minimum wage? Some even earn less than that as graduate teachers! How can 20k not feed only you in a whole month in a country where the minimum wage then was 7500? What are you eating? One cow per day? Nigerians were far richer then. Even you were far richer then. I can bet a manager of that fame farm today will earn in the region 100-150k which is just x2 of today's minimum wage or less. So compared to him, were you richer or poorer then? 😂 it’s obvious you were a kid then, I had a conversation with a friend on this and he truly laughed hearing that Nigerians were richer in the obj days now you’re asking me if it’s cow I was eating Omo just say you were too young to know what really was going on. That 7500 minimum wage you are talking about go and find out how much accommodation was then to see if that that was truly a living wage and for your information agriculture o yes is the largest employer of labour in Nigeria in the private sector so for you to say telecoms and banking are the largest employer of labour in Nigeria I just know you don’t even know what you’re talking about but just being political which is never a reality 😂 so in a state like benue it’s banking or telecoms that’s the largest employer omo you’re not serious 😂 |

Kukutente23: This is a funny question to ask. How many people did banks and telecoms employ? Really? You mean they stopped employing after OBj left office? Do you know how many service providers and contractors have been blessed grim the two sectors? It's even funny to hear people who defend fuel price increase from 200-1000 claim that people groaned under N20 increase in fuel price which was usually met with stiff resistance from labour. Obj's time was better. My mother was a teacher then. After Obj increase minimum wage, she changed our interior decor and even started a side business. How many civil servants can even afford rent today after minium wage increase not to talk of starting a side business? Are you guys not telling people to go and farm after closing from work? Both telecoms and the banking industry even till today do not employ up to 100,000 Nigerians directly and maybe close to 500,000 indirectly and what’s that compared to our teeming population. That some folks were privileged to have such opportunities never meant that was the reality of many Nigerians. Thank God for your family. In 2007/2008 I was employed as a fish farm manger somewhere in abule Egba in Lagos earning 20k per month and yes that was my reality then as a graduate before going for my masters. That could not feed me for a whole month talk less of accommodation. Thanks to my parents for a roof over my head then. Let’s be honest to what is true. All these Nigerians were richer back then was never the reality for many and most people. |
