Remember the ivory coast we played in the group stage had a different coach in the final so their approach to the game was quite different that you cant say we played exactly the same team. We might have a little bit of tottenham gene in us but its not that bad to be capitulating in front of Tanzania or Kenya.

No excuses it’s the same set of players we met in the final. We have also capitulated against teams like Zimbabwe, Rwanda and South Africa on home turf o so who says we can’t capitulate against Tanzania or Kenya if we meet them in an Afcon final.

The same Ivory Coast we lost to in final in 2023 did we not beat them earlier in the group stage? Most times the opponent is not the issue but the manner we freeze or chicken out when the stakes are higher or at the very end.

The issue is critical moments and how we react or respond.

In the last two AFCONs, we only fell to the host nations, Ivory Coast and Morocco respectively. And both teams aren't minnows. They historically go pound for pound with us in team strength. Every other country wey no be host nation for the last two AFCONs collect wella from our hand. From powerhouse to minnows.

Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda are historically not on our level. They are hosting the next tourney though, but I simply can't imagine us losing to them in a major tournament. In a friendly or qualifier, sure. But not a main event like the AFCON.

So simply based on this wishful thinking, I believe we'll win. 😁

African teams must learn to keep things tight, the gap between them and their European counterparts is narrowing.

Both Senegal and CIV have played some fantastic football but they can’t afford to be careless in this World Cup that’s about quick decision making and moments. If Cape Verde could hold Spain to a draw I don’t see or understand why CIV should lose this game
