i have read it more dan twice. nd i now understand while xtians dnt want it. That bill while seeming harmless can still be described as discriminatory.
can you explain further if you can, you can't just say its discriminatory without bringing out the facts na, so what are the issues?

No, only folks of apc and their apologists think otherwise. One man's food is another man's poison. Just how many citizens will be engaged in what u stated? I guess u don't know the extent of the poverty and u are being elitist.

The reality is that even the stomach infrastructure is palliative sef. The entire budget of nigeria wouldn't meet the need for social welfare scheme cos a serious nation of about 200m people need budget in the range of hundreds of billions in dollar better still double digit trillion naira budget! The problems are that deep.
You are asking me how many citizens would be engaged if there are several projects going on in that state? Gosh this is unbelievable.

if stomach infrastructure is palliative according to you and the budget of Nigeria cannot cater for the need of social welfare, is that an excuse for fayose to make stomach infrastructure a brand policy for ekiti state? na wa o

Thanks. It seems churches are now becoming more aware of the need for registration and I've been seeing more and more of them registering with the CAC.

The licensing will takes nothing away from them, since CAN will be on the licensing committee to safeguard their interests. I agree about the time limit too, which coincidentally ends at the same time as the last Muslim prayer for the day, though to be fair there are other Muslim activities that take place in public after that time too.
The time issue is the bone of contention here which must be dropped, that is what is infringing on the rights of freedom of worship. If there is no curfew in town the Govt cannot restrict any activities beyond 8pm

maestroferddi:
The Senate will still amend the CCT act later.

There was no sense in pursuing the amendment since it cannot retro-actively affect Saraki's case.

But one thing is clear, the Senate will amend the act to avoid the oversight that has thrown up the present imbroglio.

We are in Nigeria...
the cct act is part of the 5th schedule in the constitution, for it to be amended, the constitution itself would have to amended which is not a tea party and its greater than saraki or the senate. Someone must have reminded about this, hence the need to stand down on the matter.

Are you born again? If your so called El Rufai is doing well, why is he partisan in his Bill? How does it affect his Muslim brothers? Is Nigeria not a secular state? Do we not have freedom of worship?
Does freedom of worship means that a church should not be registered with CAC? Have you ever wondered why the Muslims are not talking and making noise like the Christians are doing? How is the bill partisan? Have you studied that bill carefully?

My faith does not tell me to disobey the laws of the land if its not in contradiction with what the bible says, I have stated my views here that I oppose the time issue beyond 8pm but as for licencing, I am in full support.

The Govt of Buhari should thread with wisdom, wen 2 elephants fights, its always the grass that suffers, the militant can choose to sabotage all oil facilities in the deltas and this will affect the economy @ large, especially in the areas of gas supply, to power our eletricity, the govt of the seems to be too forward...
or rather it is the militants who are too forward, let them go ahead, they call themselves avengers. Let them blow every gaddem thing off and be like the North East. We are already suffering the poor electricity nah, is this all they can do?

if they can't turn the entire Niger delta like the north east, then they are cowards. Real men fight, they don't make threats

It's just licensing na. Why are they acting so funny? Don't all the pastoring schools and seminaries issue qualifying certificates? I dunno when a screening process and subsequent verification became anathema to Christianity.
very intelligent post I must say, I wanted to register an NGO few years ago and it took a very rigorous process and long time to get it registered. I asked the lawyer who was in charge if this is what churches go thru to get registered cos its the same category, the lawyer laughed very hard and said that most churches in Nigeria are not registered with CAC, even the so called big ones, I was shocked.

I am a practicing christian but truth be told, many churches in Nigeria are not operating legally, because we are a very religious sensitive nation, the Govt is overlooking some of these issues. I stand for the licencing of Pastors cos this will reduce the criminal acts being perpetrated all in the name of pastoring. The only issue I have with the Kaduna law is the time limit of religious activities beyond 8pm which is what the Christians in Kaduna should oppose and sort out amicably with the Govt.

For all those Criticising Gov Ayo Fayose, they are the same people who are criticising PMB..

I have come to accept one fact, You can never please Humans.. How many of our so called Billionaires can boast of doing such charitable work.?? OR How many Govs would kill 50 Cows monthly and divide it among the people??..

Be it 1 bag of rice or kuli Kuli, this man is doing something good and Humanitarian.. We should all replicate what he is doing to help the needy...

For goodness sake, are we happy to see people starve to death.. We should be applauding him and even doing more to help the poor in our society...

Whether his intentions are good or not, the results speak for itself....

Fayose this, Fayose that, Its getting boring now... Leave him alone and focus on how you can make it in Life...

Whether he rigged election is non of my business. There are laws in the country to try him and jail him if found guilty...

STOP CONDEMNING PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO ARE CHARITABLE... YOU ARE CURSING YOURSELF......
This is not charity, no amount of charity can bring development, if not all the NGOs would have developed Nigeria by now. We have been deceived by the elites and Politicians that this is the best way to go but its all lies to keep us oppressed and not ask questions.

Those are ongoing and runs on AiT even here. Anyway, it is only elitism that condemns a genuine response to citizens issues. U hear build roads, schools etc and I ask for who? When the masses are dying cos of small stuff. The elites are fed so they need roads and other infrastructure but, the masses are hungry and don't need long grammar. Take away hunger and 50% of the problem solved. Feeding kids in sch and a now cancelled promise of 5k was to address that. Millions of citizens can't feed it is the reality.
Please let's talk more intelligently, infrastructure projects construction improves the local economy as artisans, petty traders, food vendors e.t.c. are positively affected, this will feed the hungry masses more than the cups of rice that are being given here. The media team in the Ekiti state govt house need to get more serious and push those things or projects you say they run on AIT into the social media space just like states like anambra and others are doing. Its not about abusing PMB all the time, they need to push Ekiti as a brand where things are happening instead of this comedy show, its not good for ekiti's image, Fayose's personality is not helping matters at the moment, only folks from the south east thinks otherwise cos its not their state per se. Social welfare schemes are good but development is better please.

This rubbish can't happen in the south east. We've said it repeatedly ......you would be mad to think that the south west is BETTER than the east in distribution of wealth.

When people hail fayose for being "this kind of governor ",I weep.
It's sad that even our own people have no idea of WHAT TO EXPECT FROM OUR LEADERS. Our standards are so shamelessly low. Pity!
But how come fellows from the south east hail him as the best governor, some have said on this forum that Fayose is better than all the se governors put together.

Anyway me think, yes you can give your citizens things but please we want to see pictures of infrastructure projects going on like we see from other states. why ekiti is making things like this their trademark is getting so many of us ashamed

The Power sector need a strong hand to get it moving, democracy cannot work in the power sector, let's stop deceiving ourselves.

The position of the SP was initially planned for the south east by the APC. Unfortunately for 'em, they (SE) to vote for Ngige as the APC flag bearer. So the options left was between Lawan, ABS and Dojshh. But ABS was the only hybrid among the three contestants and also the one most inordinately ambitious. He also was about the only one with soooo much crimes from his past haunting his present. Can a government who prides itself in the fight against graft afford to have a man with such notoriety and infamous past and present her number three citizen? Such choice was gonna rubbish and discredit that party's position. However ABS still had his way, but this time conniving with the same people he worked against to foist himself in that position.

It shows he doesn't really care if this country or her hopes of recovery go to the blazes so long as he has his way, even if it entails selling the country off to the devil himself.
Well said saraki brought all this upon himself and the Igbos too for their continuous political miscalculation

Its all about the soul of pdp which had become a regional party confined to the se and ss.

Their fear is as saraki is going down, it will hamper pdp's recovery after last year elections. Let's not forget that the the deputy senate President is from se and pdp. This is what is all about. The emergence of saraki and ekweremadu gave pdp hope and now that may be dashed into pieces soon hence the reason they must rally round saraki.
