You are so right. They already know 90% of those in care will leave that line once they get ILR from 2021 to 2029 since majority of them are graduates and the sector does not have incentive to attract workers again since it is closing by 2028 and not allowed on sponsorship. This is more reason they want those who are doing the job to remain there for another 10 years ehich I dont thinkbis possible however they plan it.
Other countries will be licking their lips and won’t believe their luck, it’s just to specify a permanent immigration policy that if you have 3-5 years of care experience in the uk oya come as you are 😂

😄 funny enough I still haven’t put in my petition yet; this is just professional knowledge. I’m still tinkering with my petition and my zeal to submit has reduced because this new policy doesn’t change my timelines. I am really really reluctant about the US.

I will still force myself to stop dragging my feet and apply before the end of the year though because one can’t have too many redundancies in place, clearly.
I know and understand that feeling but maybe if you have a visa you can take a short trip and just size out the country, something could click on your inside or reinforce your resolution to remain in the uk. Follow your heart or intuition though!

We should not all give up because they failed to qualify for WC.
About Dr congo game, nobody was scared of them,Osimhen absence in the second half affected the team and gave the Congolese extra confidence to play,it happens sometimes when a team is built around a particular player.

Now is the time for the true Super Eagles fans to draw support, not when they start producing results they would all come out and start waxing lyrical about the team.
All their failures are part of the humbling process,to learn from their mistakes and become better, the fans should all also partake in it.

AFCON is far more difficult than WC qualifiers, but I assure you, even in our current state,no African team would be wishing to play us.
If all the injured players recovered before the AFCON,Aina and Osimhen in particular, then there is still hope for the AFCON.
We also have the history of doing well when the expectation is at the all time low.
It's up to the team to perform; this is not a fans' problem. If the fans see more seriousness from the players on the pitch of play they won't be too critical or unwilling to go the whole length to support all the way.

Do you know Nwabali shut the mouths of many with his performance against Congo, even though we lost? he even made one or two errors in that match earlier, but still put up a class performance till the end. That's the kind of thing fans want to see on the pitch. No one is waxing lyrical, but perform well, even if you lose, show us what it means to play for the national team and not the crap we are seeing from some players, and then later tell us to partake in a humbling process. I know you're trying to be positive, but let's call a spade what it is and not just an ordinary tool.

If luck come shine on them now and they win AFCON,most of una,you self included go bring out una drums and cymbals and sing their praises to high heavens, how some of them would easily make USA '94 team.
I'm sure that if i dig enough,I will find where you were part of their singers.

What I'm saying is that I'm trying to balance things up and give them the benefit of doubt now that everything is clear to you all to see the distinction between the '90s generation and the president generation.

Yes,they don't have Okocha or Mikel, but they have a different weapon in Osimhen, and a very good tactician would still have found a way to accommodate Onyedika, Uche or any other young midfielder to help in the middle to move ball easily to our weapon upfront, Iwobi don't have to play all the minutes or all the games, the same with Ndidi.

I'm still rooting for them to go for the AFCON trophy when the WC disappointment is gone.
This team lacks the mentality to win. We have seen it repeatedly, so expecting to go in there and win the Afcon is a pipe dream. Most of the players don't have confidence in themselves, and it shows even when they are coming out of the tunnel for a match. If a team can be scared of Congo, then what will happen when they face Senegal or Morocco? We've seen enough of this team to know what their mentality looks like. Let's stop giving ourselves false hope and prevent more Nigerians from dying or collapsing due to high blood pressure. This team has peaked already with with last Afcon performance and is on the decline, except we infuse fresh players who will need time to blend before we can begin to see different results. Onyedika and co, you guys are singing about are not world-class players to turn things around as fast as Nigerians desire. They can try, but cannot solve that midfield problem; we all know it, but we are just guessing and making assumptions. The African game is too physical, and this team easily gets bullied by very physical teams so tey even SA dey bully us haba. I hope to be disappointed, sha in Afcon with superlative performances, but for now, let's be realistic.

The irony and the truth is,I believe this present team can actually be mounded to be among the Golden generations.
So the bolded is not entirely appropriate.

Two times now, just one win away that have prevented them from their names been etched in history book.

The coaches and the football house are part of the problems that have contributed to their failures.
Without attacking midfielders? 😂 let’s stop the joke please. This is all this present team has got. We are asking for too much.

Maybe having two APOTYs is the reason for the hype but as we can now see those two main guys have been our X factor and when they are not in form or available the team looks like a typical naija home based team without purpose

Eric Chelle must be bold enough to exert authority as the team's coach. He should drop unproductive players from the team. This is the time to start rebuilding immediately. He should go to the AFCON with players he trusts enough to give him results, as the late Stephen Keshi did in 2013, and damn the consequences.

To be honest, aside from a few of the players, they don't deserve to play at the World Cup. Professional players playing like nothing is at stake, the same way they played Ghana in 2022 in Abuja.

It's time to inject new players into the team.

Bunch of lethargic and lazy players.

The capitulation of the team on the grand stage has more to do with the mentality of this set of SE players than their actual abilities.

JP complained that the team did not show their level against CIV in the last AFCON final. Same thing under Chelle. Apart from Osimhen and perhaps Bassey, most of the players don't come across as mentally strong. As a collective it gets worse.

I doubt this would be an option
In most things, there's the said and unsaid reason.

What the government has said is concern over benefits.

What the government has not said is the unease about those who recently came to work in Care gaining ILR from next year and leaving the sector. Would they need to open a fresh pathway to get folks in or would social care costs be allowed to rise even further?

Sad to say but this creates a bottleneck that restrains many to the bortom cabin. And it's their labour that'd be used to fund the extravagance of others.
😂 you mean the same people aunty kemi called bottom wipers? So they are not milking the system after all going by this postulation. This just shows how deceptive all these talk about net migration is. 5 years of loyal service is enough after all Shebi they say it’s a low income job and they want folks with higher income. Too many contradictory statements, data and information that will only lead to more confusion and impact on healthcare and the economy.

The biggest elephant in the room is still left addressed which is the true future and picture of the society post Brexit which is clearly obvious that there is no plan but to keep on dancing round in cycles with all the dumb talk of immigration. Many are not even aware that many public medical facilities are shutting down in this country. I know of one large psychiatric facility not far from me that has been closed. Anyway let the deceit continue.

The only small hope I see perhaps God willing is to allow folks still get ilr but sill ensure no recourse to public funds since all the headache is about benefits but that alone is already degrading but many migrants if not most won’t mind.

In all a new legislation or the courts may still be the deciding factor reason the govt still continues to say they are still consulting.

I honestly wonder though ... If all the folks in care are poached by Canada / Australia, what will happen to the UK then?

I predict this will be the trend over the next few years once word of this gets out and is commonplace. The same way Australia is brazenly poaching UK nurses, they will likely poach HCA with promise of better weather, pay, work conditions and residency
Even the Brits themselves are moving away from the country reason why I wonder why some immigrants just feel they must stay put in here with all the gaslighting and manipulation.

My two cents again if you’re still less than 40 and you’ve built good experience in the uk kindly explore other nations who will give you permanent residency in record time. The UK is broke and the carrying capacity to cater for all permanent residents keeps shrinking. Enough said.

But sha whoever that is behind all these sudden attacks will never succeed!!!
They have suddenly found Nigerian Christian narratives as a political tool for their domestic politics just like they use immigration narration to keep their political domestic base and keep themselves in power

You nailed it.

As painful as the UK’s latest policy may be, what is even more shocking is the painful economic reality brewing. I posit that the UK may have to close the route to settlement and citizenship for most immigrants in the next 5 years as harsh economic realities bite harder. What the UK has done with the latest policy is normalise retroactive policies. This is crucial. By normalising retroactive policies, they can then proceed to enact even more punitive policies that will make migrants perpetual slaves limiting their access to settlement and the benefit system.

The reason the UK MUST do this is to preserve the power of the UK passport and reduce stress on the system. If countries in EU and the 5 eyes (US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand) start sensing that the UK is becoming the conduit for residents of third world countries to access them, they will start erecting measures against UK citizens.

My advice to younger folks here is simple – start building options smartly - "the UK don cast". Within the UK, what can you do for the short/medium term? Outside the UK, what options exist? Don’t limit yourself to the UK alone, have options so you don’t get stranded. Tough times are coming economically, and you don’t want to get left out in the open holding the bag.
Some of us said this countless times here that folks should look elsewhere but we were told that the Uk is still the best. Honestly I celebrate folks who have since used the Uk as the stepping stone to other places. They are the original MVPs and the wisest.

Hardworking and legal immigrants are being mocked 😜 imagine those on care visas facing the possibility of 15 yrs not even the 10 years that was originally tendered meanwhile the smarter ones have used their care experience to obtain PR in Canada and will be Canadian citizens in just 3 years while their counterparts in uk are filling online surveys that may never make any difference. Anyway each man to his own!

I did not absolve the NFF of blame but your arguement still leans too heavily on the NFF as if they tied the players legs on the pitch.

Also, you're rewriting history. Jose Peseiro was employed on a 70k USD/month contract but after some mixed results and difficulty paying his salary, the NFF offered him a reduced 50k USD salary to stay on and take the team to the AFCON which he accepted.

He refused to renew the 50K USD/month contract when it expired at the end of AFCON, and demanded an increased salary to stay on as coach stating he had offers from other places.

After failing to reach an agreement with the NFF, JP announced his departure and the NFF moved on to appoint his deputy Finidi George as the substantive coach which I hailed and supported at that time because Finidi had the highest coaching badge, and some experience working in Europe, deputizing JP and coaching in the NPFL.

Your assertion that lots of Nigerians wanted JP gone after the AFCON is not entirely true. Reactions to JP continuing as coach was mixed. I wanted him to continue because he showed his tactical acumen and flexibility after the qualifiers and first AFCON game by deployed a 3-5-1-1 formation that fixed our goals leaking issue, and got us to the FINAL. I mean, from 4-3-3, JP switched to a 3-5-1-1 that made us defensively disciplined, solid and dispatched teams playing some prime catenaccio ball akin to Italy of 2006 world cup.

I also think you overestimate the Super Eagles brand with your quality of coaches statement, and we have to be realistic with the kinda coaches we can appoint.. There's no way we can attract first class coaches like Ancelotti, Guardiola. Mourinho and the likes. They're way above our league. Even the first class Africans/African experienced coaches like Pitso Motsimane, Hugo Broos, Herve Rennard are above our league. I think the right profile of coaches for the Super Eagles are young African, European, South American coaches who are within the age bracket of 40-55. and are eager to make a name for themselves. They also are moderate with their salary expectations. Think coaches like Pedro Goncalves, Djamel Belmadi, Aliou Cisse etc So by my assessment, Eric Chelle is a perfect fit for the job.

As for Finidi, with the benefit of hindsight, I agree he wasn’t ready. But even if Pep Guardiola was coach, the same players that struggled to beat Lesotho would still be the same players. National team coaches don’t perform magic. They work with what is available.

This NFF is the biggest culprit angle ignores the biggest elephant in the room, the players, who did not perform at the level required. You mentioned those early qualifiers. Exactly!. That is where we lost the plot. Even with all the NFF wahala, you don’t drop points at home to Lesotho. You don’t lose against Benin on a neutral ground. That one is not bonus issue or NFF delay. That’s players lacking hunger and performing poorly.

NFF didn't ask Ndidi to play the ball wide one-on-one with the Zimbabwe goalie in Uyo. NFF didn't instruct Troost Ekong not to tackle the Zimbabwean player that scored the 89th minute equalizer against us in Uyo. NFF didn't ask Troost Ekong to score an own goal from a non-threatening square ball in SA. NFF didn't ask Ndidi to get in the way of Chukwueze to possibly score our second goal against DR Congo. NFF didn't ask Ndidi not to clear the ball that led to DR Congo's equalizer. NFF didn't ask Bassey, Simon and Ajayi to play poor penalties. I could go on and on.

NFF has blame. Nobody is arguing that. Their administrative ineptitude is embarrassing. But to pin everything on them while giving the players and coaches a lighter share of the blame is inaccurate

NFF failed in organization (10%). Coaches failed in tactics (20%) Players failed in mentality and execution (70%).

Again, all the laurels we have won in football have been in spite of the NFF. If the players had the spine. mentality, and fortitude, the Super Eagles would have qualified in spite of the NFF.

I rest my fingers.
Well articulated especially @ the bolded. The players cost us this wcq series and the playoffs. All these blames on the nff and coach are just diversions and excuses for horrible performances from the players.

If we want the entire nff board to go then some players must follow them too.

After all during the days of Yekini he wasn't this overhyped. Still maintained a level of decency not feeling like a god among men whenever they are in the field of play. This kind of attitude talking down on your fellow players, brushing them aside birth bad omen amongst them as you & I know something DRAMATIC happened inside that Dressing room during the 2nd half of the game.
Moreover, you need to accept the fact that your "Demigod" fizzles out when faced with strong opponents with a strong defensive line up.
We saw it against: Napoli vs Inter-milan.
-Napoli vs Liverpool.
-Galatasaray vs Liverpool
-Nigeria vs Ivory Coast
You can say whatever you like but I'm being objective. Being able to see a fault and point it out will save you a lot of stress in your doings.
Oya, tell us what happened since you know. If you can't, then your point is baseless. All you're saying about fizzling out against strong defensive set up is petty, its the job of any defence to stop any striker no matter how good he is but if someone is your highest scorer in the wcq series, highest scorer in the champs league, highest scorer in previous leagues across different countries and you say he fizzels out against stronger defences, omo you're not making sense and saying he's not manning up is the highest level of insult for a player who risk injuries for the national team when others simply avoid putting in their whole body in the game.

It's okay to dislike a player, but to wash down his importance because he could not score or finish up an appearance in a single match is mischievous. No striker scores in every match he appears in. Please stop this pettiness, you're not the only one angry with the loss to Congo!

Meanwhile, please tell us what happened in the dressing room before the 2nd half. I'd like to know and am waiting.

Nice session, I watched it, and Osasu is right, the current Eagles lack the spine and resilience to pull through, and I like the way he differentiated the mentality between an Oshimen and Iwobi, citing their family background and the environment they grew up in. and he is right, saying some of the current Eagles, especially the foreign-born born don't really understand the demands and peculiarity of the Nigerian environment, so they struggle to handle the pressure and criticisms. I also agree with him and Oliseh that our Home playing turf should be taken back to Lagos, as Uyo fans are not giving the Eagles enough pressure to understand what it means to play for GWG.

Any right-thinking person knows Eric Chelle has tried to knowing what he met on the ground. Still, I also agree with Osasu on Eric Chelle not having enough international experience as a coach, which also informed his outbursts on the allegations of Voodoo by the Congolese. First time I will be listening to that Osasu guy, he's well-grounded as he's been around the national team for ages. The reason some of us here don't fancy Oliseh that much was his reign as Eagles coach, too, where he couldn't manage experienced and mature players like Enyeama and Mikel. Imagine Oliseh managing this team, omo, he will have issues with many of the players, as cool as Finidi is, he had issues with Osihmen, just imagine it was Oliseh, it would have been a global disaster.
