So why quote Kalu's case when it is a totally different scenario?
What different case? Kalu Uche went on strike because he didn't get his dream transfer to Ajax, he was promptly banned by the Polish FA for 6 months. No salary, no training. This 6 months in the coolers jeopardised his career. He owes his career to Henri Kasperzak who rejuvenated him after that saga.
Henry went on strike just like Kalu.
whats the different scenario there?
Google about Matuzalem's case with Shaktar Doneskt and see what could happen to a player for breach of contract.

Hypothetically is just another way of saying "what if" but i thought u don't do that? Now i see that u will say anything to win an arguement. So its ok u win lol + smh.
I drew the line not speaking hypothetically when you wanted to compare Kelechi and Mbappe on who Pelegrini will choose if he was managing both players.
You just throw words around without respecting the context of the poster you're responding to.
That's not the way to go.

And since we are talking about transfers and market value of players, it's always hypothetic because we don't manage the players. We are just speculating given the variables available to us.

You talked of Mbappe's records eclipsing Henry. I said, you can not compare them because of roles. I did not say Mbappe does not play on the wing. You embarrassed yourself saying he plays on the wings.

When we talk of players being prolific, it is not just with goals or assist. It also has to do with their ability on the ball. Maybe you did not know, as a youngster, Aguero was not regularly leading the line. However, his ability on the ball is far ahead of Mbappe. Same with Benzema. They are more prolific youngsters than Mbappe is.
How do you know Aguero is better since you haven't watched Mbappe play?
How could you have figured that Aguero was the better 18yr old?

Typical you. You have little understanding of the underlying deal and you post it as a point.

In Kalu's case, there is no case of the club agreeing with him to make a deal and then changing it because of a better offer. There is no case of the club making shady deals to make Kalu Uche change his agent.

How you equate them as the same scenario baffles me.
Again, you argue what you have limited information about. Kalu Uche had a deal in place to move to Ajax a deal Wisla Krakow backed out at the last minute because they had European Cup ambitions.
Learn not to argue that when you don't have your facts correct.

cheesy grin grin grin

Saying Mbappe is better than Benzema at the same age is comical. Very comical. Olympique Lyon were the rulers of French football and at a very young age, Benzema was their king. Please, go and Google Benzema Lyon clips I beg you. Watch them on YouTube before arguing this kind of thing.
I can't blame you for this. Obviously it's been a while.
Look, Benzema was always confined to the bench in his first two seasons. Fred, Luyindula and Lisandro Lopez were Lyons regulars while Benzema learned his trade. Not after Luyindula and the other guy moved on that benzema came to his own.
Mbape on the other hand have been bossing it.
You sound informed but you're not. Sorry.

Bomb. If Eupen reported him to FIFA, it will expose their shady deal of trying to lure him away from his agent and to a club against his choice. The strike got him to the negotiating table with the club and they now have ammutual understanding with Onyekuru. Win-win. Not ill advised. The ill advise would have been Onyekuru dumping his agent and going to a club against his club.
It's a pity you're saying this.
This is what happened to Kalu Uche. Please refresh your memory

Go and educate yourself on topics before arguing. It makes you sound as a novice. In a wing system with two strikers, the winger has limited opportunity scoring. Wing Forward is mostly in a three man forward set up. The wing forward have more chances to score than wingers.
TheGoodJoe :
Thierry Henry played as a winger in Ligue 1 and not a wing forward. He had Ikpeba and Trezeguet leading the attack. How do you expect Henry to have better goal stats at that age baffles me. Thierry Henry as a Young player was never good enough to become a starter in the current City team. If that is your yardstick and marketed, then you are really off point.
As young players, players like Aguero and Benzema were far more talented and prolific than Mbappe.
Stop embarrassing yourself. This was what you posted a few minutes ago. See how you contradict yourself within a space of 5 minutes.
In one moment you're saying Mbappe is less prolific than Benzema and Aguero who are strikers the next moment you're saying Mbappe should be more prolific than Henry.

This sort of things happen when someone has limited information. Smh

I'd like to know, when u look in the mirror do u just admit that u will never be as good as the next man no matter how hard u try? Ur views on being African are backwards and alarming. Every point u have goes along with he is also African. I have always maintained that he is not on the market so why try to force a point? U say no African has been sold for that much and on the other hand u are drooling over an African that u say is worth 50 million. I have always said that Iwobi will change how people see Nigerian footballers but I didn't know he would also have to change how Nigerians see themselves.
This is a sentimental way to put it. Its a pity football business is not guided by emotions and sentiments.

This is exactly why you shouldn't argue if you have limited information.
Mbappe primarily is a wing forward who can play as a striker. Infact, he has played more on the wings this season while Falcao leads the line. Its better you stop talking about this guy since you have no idea what he is all about.

He has not been put on the market so how do u know what the press will do? Payet was estimated at 60 million but got sold for 25 so i don't get how u can be so confident about these fickle numbers. I am standing by the quality of a player who i know will be a great and greats don't come cheap. If u don't like that tough luck.
You do realise no 20yr old have been transferred for 50M? Arsenal have yet to sell anyone for the said amount and no African have cost the said amount.
Haven established all these facts, and objectively speaking, you think Iwobi will be the player to cross that mark if he was in the transfer market as it stands. I like your optimism but I know better.

How am i playing the victim when i know i'm not talking out of my butt making up fake stats. I am speaking as a football fan who knows football. Iwobi has every quality that is searched for, he is big, strong and technical on the ball. I will gladly agree that i am following my heart but u can't prove me wrong on this here topic, all u can do is drop shade and act like it is because u are being honest. Tell the truth u never rated Iwobi or Iheanacho u are just a shark who has been patiently waiting for form to drop.
Your knowledge of football is questionable if you think Arsenal can get 50M for Iwobi if he were to be sold today.
You obviously think transfer value is solemnly determined by a players ability.
The press plays a major role in the hype business and recently, Iwobi have not been getting good reviews by the press.
Again, judge with your head and not your heart. The heart is sometimes weak and not correct all the time.

What else do you want to know? I was not blown away from the few I watched at the City game. Never heard news of Mbappe as a World Class striker in the class of Benzema, Higuain and Cavani, players I rate Aguero better than. It is simple logic to know that a player who is not rated above these players to start at City.

As for you saying Mbappe is more talented than anyone at City, it shows you clouded judgment of talents.
This is what you get when someone knows little about something and he's making a fist of the argument.

Mbappe is being marketed as the best teenager in Europe. His records have eclipsed that set by Thierry Henry at same age. The youngest player to score a hattrick in Ligue 1 and a host of other records he has sent to the thrash can.
These players you're naming aren't as good as this guy when they were same age.

And yes he's more talented than the lot you put out. Although Aguero, Higuain and Benzema would have an edge over him with experience. Doesn't mean they are more talented.

A move to Celtic would not put Onyekuru's career in jeopardy. That is a very weak assessment. Celtic is a big club that features regularly in the Champions League. With a manager, Brendan Rodgers who plays an exciting, high pressing brand of football that would have fitted Onyekuru.

Haba.
You jump into mentions without reading what you're responding to.

If you had read my post, you will discover I talked about the ill advised strike he embarked up on which would jeopardised his career had Eupen reported him to FIFA, he will be sanctioned and could be banned from football for a few seasons.
I remember Kalu Uche then at Wisla Krakow going on strike after his Polish club rejected his proposed move to Ajax. Uche was disbanded from football for awhile until Henri Kasperzak came on board.

STOP running in circles. Answer the simple question. How did you even nuture the idea that Mbappe will start regularly for City? At least you have his number in your head.
He's obviously more talented than anyone I've seen at City. Including Aguero who is no where close to his abilities at the same age.
Coupled with the small fact of his huge transfer fee. Its not so difficult to figure out he wouldn't sit on the Man city bench.

What a funny world. Someone who know absolutely nothing about a player is claiming the same player is not good enough. At the top of your head without checking, you can't even tell his Jersey number at Monaco and you're forming ITK.
Instead you will humbly ask after the said player, his abilities and what he can bring to a team rather you're posing as being informed when you're not.

What premium are u talking about? The only fact is that u need a certain amount of English passport holders on each squad and if that player can play a big role it makes him more valuable. Iwobi has more potential than most young players in England. He can play anywhere in the midfield and he can also play in front. We all know Wenger knows how to sell so I don't see Iwobi leaving for cheap. I guess u guys need someone on tv to tell u this.

You do not even have a reason why you think Mbappe will start at City. You just wanted to argue.
This was my post on January 3rd. I remember talking about Mbappe some time last year but I can't pull out the post now. Its not about me going with the flow or rave of the moment.I was the first person to mentioned the name Mbappe on this site.
I think I've finally figured out why people are judgmental about Iheanacho's game.
In my opinion, I think the coaches at Man city have concentrated so much on kelechi's shooting and finishing abilities, this have left the play making ability underdeveloped.
It's no coincidence that he has excellent goal to game ratio. He is basically trained as a goal machine.
This have made people notice Iheanacho only when he scores. Because frankly he offers little in games where he doesn't bang one in.
Maybe with the arrival of Jesus, city can concentrate and train him to become the goal scoring machine, whole Iheanacho is left to develop other parts of his game which is his play making abilities. The idea of Man city coaching play making out of kelechi I feel will leave us wondering "what would have been" when he's in the twilight if his career just like Mikel.
When I watch young players like Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele tearing it up their various clubs, one can't help but be jealous as a Nigerian.
While man utd and man city fans argue over kelechi and Rushford, Dembele and Mbappe are posting ridiculous performances.
Especially Ousmane Dembele, is absolutely a joke, still only 19 but his level of productivity is crazy.
I feel Iheanacho should up his game and productivity level beyond just scoring. I want people to appreciate his game even when he doesn't score. I believe that could be the POV of Michael Owen.https://www.nairaland.com/3018619/new-super-eagles-thread-russia/426
I've watched the young man Mbappe and he's deliciously talented and going by his muted transfer fee, Man city cannot afford to bench him.

If he can't start at City why did Lord Guardiola make a bid of €40M which was rejected.
I know Guardiola is not all that good with transfers but spending €40M on a player who is not good enough for his team is quite a new low for him.
