Junia:ah.....see who i'm discussing with ooooooo ![]() that's what you think i meant when you know i was talking of OT stuff? ![]() Are the israelites the first Church (body of Christ)ahhhhhhhh...i really have to let this go oooooo Acts 7:38 King James Bible This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the angel which spake to him in the mount Sina, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us: |
Junia:So, is the law totally abolished/discarded? |
Am i the one saying itSo, Jesus is saying that Justice, mercy and faith are of the law...He now asked us to forget the law and yet tells us to ask and live by faith? Didnt Jesus clasify them as the weightier part of the lawyou are sorely confused... ![]() If you love (law of Christ) .. wont you practice themso i should practice the weightier because of the law of Christ (love)...but the lighter (tithe, assuming it is of the law)i should ignore, abi? keep shooting your foot o ![]() Who can say he or she loves but practice wickedness ??so, tithing is wickeness? ![]() |
Junia:lol...see line of argument abeg. the term CHURCH there ...what did you think i meant? The Church is actually used for Christians only and not isralitesJames was the head of the Christians in Jerusalem..they all worshiped and met a the synagogue...why not a church, since the church is actually used for Christians and not Israelite? Why did Chirstians use a synagogue made for Jewish religion? ![]() Why deceiving yourself ??you're sorely confused... I'd leave you at this juncture.
|
Junia:he didn't get it from the law, please. Will you dishonour your parents if you love thembro...Paul quoted the law severally..like petra1 said, the law is good... trying to get justification by it is wrong. Paul even said the law is holy and good. |
Junia:so, because Moses' law made tithing compulsory..it is then proof that tithing came as a result of the law? |
Junia:I talk am ![]() so, Justice, mercy and faith are of the law? Why aren't they abolished as tithing (assuming tithing was of the law) |
Junia:Study bro.. “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel” (Matthew 15:24). We should understand Jesus’ words here not as an outright rejection of the Gentiles—moments later, He heals the Cannanite woman's daughter (Matthew 15:28)—but as a fulfillment of prophecy, a setting of priorities, and a test of the woman’s faith. In Jeremiah 50:6, God calls Israel His people and “lost sheep.” The Messiah, spoken of throughout the Old Testament, was seen as the one who would gather these “lost sheep” (Ezekiel 34:23-24; Micah 5:4-5). When Jesus presented Himself as a shepherd to Israel, He was claiming to be the fulfillment of Messianic prophecy (Mark 6:34, 14:27; John 10:11-16) It was through the Jews that God issued His Law, preserved His Word, and sent His Son. This is why, elsewhere, Jesus tells a Samaritan that “salvation is of the Jews” (John 4:22). In Matthew 15, when the Jesus says that He was sent to “the house of Israel,” He is simply connecting His presence with God’s purpose in Old Testament history. Christ was “born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law” (Galatians 4:4-5). |
Junia:Are you saying Moses was the one who brought about the idea of tithing? Aside the law of Christ which other law is in the Bible ??it's like asking "Aside the parts of Ferrari, what other parts is in the Ferrari?" ![]() |
Junia:. why? i thought the law has been abolished? Paul must have been a fraud....ah! Christ also carried the law of loving into His commandmentLove is God..God is love... it's been so since the foundation of the earth. Nothing was carried over here.
|
openmine:did you see someone call me a swindler or not? did you reprimand him? my point is, no need being hypocritical. I didn't insult you or anyone here too ![]() |
dsaynt:So, in war times, if a nation defeats another, the slaves and properties taken aren't income to the nation who won? Should i define income for you? ![]() anyways, that's not my point..when Jacob tithed, what did he use? |
Junia:Don't you know the children of Israel was the first church? They failed ...because they couldn't obey the law and they law couldn't justify anyone. That's why Jesus had to come, and He first redeemed the old church, and established the new..forever. |
Junia:FIXED... yeaah, true. Jesus called it a lighter part of the lawbecause it was contained in the law na..not created by the law Who are you to say it is not a law ??I should ask you same? Who told you it was the law of Moses? ![]() |
Junia:That means one of you is wrong....so, who's wrong? Jesus or You? ![]() If God calls tithing a law .. who is human to say it existed before the law so it is not a law ??So, God forgot about Abraham and Jacob's tithing? Wow ![]() |
petra1:Gbammmmmmm simple and short. All those burnt offerings aren't done today because Jesus was the perfect offering...no need for atonement etc..no need for such laws...but, incest, bestiality, etc are under the law...have they been abolished too? |
Junia:So, Jesus paid tithes then, right? |
openmine:i didn't insult you, besides, one of you "team" members called us swindlers, you sure didn't see that, right? weldone o |
Junia:Did Paul teach about Honoring parents? What was he quoting? |
petra1:abi ooooooo ![]() |
Junia:Son, He called it a new commandment because Love replaces all other laws. Romans 8: 12-14 the new commandment of love was different from that of Moses.., JEsus said "love one another as i have loved you"... Moses' love law was totally different from this, his was "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself". Jesus' is about loving with His measure of Love, Moses' was about our own measure |
openmine:did you understand my post at all, in relation to his? |
BERNIMOORE:What is the meaning of "Ought"? I don't have time for kids o, i am not sharing cheese balls and caprisonne here |
Junia:ask someone to read this out and listen to yourself ![]() |
Junia: ![]() Answer me.. Was Jesus not smart enough to know tithing came long before moses and the law? |
Junia:I hope you don't have comprehension issues? I told you he was addressing the pharisees and therefore the law of moses...HE wasn't necessarily afffirming that tithing is of the law. but i asked, Is Jesus dumb enough not to know that tithing predated the law? ![]() |
Peacefullove:How many times did Abraham pray? |
Junia:I thought as much because He was yet to die ?? ![]() But He let the adulterous woman live, even though the law was still active and He was yet to die.. The law condemned her, but Jesus Didn't... And he was yet to die o. Your hypocrisy is outstanding. |
BERNIMOORE:Is it that you don't understand English language?
|
Junia:I already explained this... Was Jesus not wise enough to know Tithe came before moses? |
Junia:Same Jesus that was there when Abraham gave tithe and when Moses got the law? Really? Jesus simply was speaking about the law not necessarily saying tithing was of the law... For Moses' law instituted tithing with many clauses. So, if the law is abolished, it couldn't have abolished what came before it... Would it? We are no longer under the lawI asked you same.. Was Jesus not wise enough to know the law didn't begat tithing? Didn't Jesus see Abraham tithing before He called it a law ??He was talking to THE PHARISEES.. Do I need explain why they are and why Jesus refereed to their laws? How many times did Abraham even tithe ??By your logic I can also ask, How many time did Jesus even attend a wedding sef? Or how many times did Abraham give offerings to God! Point is, they both did the said event and NO ONE condemned it, the frequency is not a point for you just because it was recorded once... But you saw his grandson do same... Would you want to say they all did it once? ![]() Didn't you see this in the Bible? Hebrews 7 9 And as I may so say, Levi also, who receiveth tithes, payed tithes in Abraham. 10 For he was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchisedec met him. In other words... by the priests in his family (Levi's), Levi gets the tenth part from the people (Israelites) . But we can say that, by Abraham, Levi also paid a tenth part to Melchizedek. This is because Levi was Abraham’s grandson. Levi was not yet born when Melchizedek met Abraham. That's the Easy English Translation |
