EyeHateGod:Thanks for your time. Please leave smarter people to discuss. Let me just wait for seun |
EyeHateGod:Please, sit this out if you do not have What to write. Thank you |
EyeHateGod:Those little mammals that build dams, did you give them hands and tools? |
AngelsAndStars:Good question ... Or why haven't dolphines have a way of dominating the seas and so much? |
MrMontella:So, Americans evolved from Europeans? Am I the only one tolerating these unbelievable display of ignorance ? |
Seun:How come the brain of an ostrich is the same size as its eye, yet it sprints as it does and kills with its powerful foot? Note, it is more stronger than an average monkey with a larger brain. which is why the brain size to mass ratio is more representative of intelligence, though not exactly. You're so wrong here sir! The elephant has a smaller brain relative to its size than we do relative to our size, yet it's undeniably one of the smartest animals in the world.Wrong again. The elephant has the second largest brain. The largest brains are those of sperm whales, weighing about 8 kg (18 lb). An elephant's brain weighs just over 5 kg (11 lb), a bottlenose dolphin's 1.5 to 1.7 kg (3.3 to 3.7 lb), whereas a human brain is around 1.3 to 1.5 kg (2.9 to 3.3 lb). Brain size tends to vary according to body size. Dolphins, which also are incredibly smart, have large brains relative to their size.Wrong again... The brain size of a dolphin is almost similar to that of a man. It's just a bit..bigger, yet their sizes are more than ours. The structure of the brain is also important. Our brains have a more complex, convoluted, interconnected structure than most. Are you making some of these stuff up sir? Our brains could not have evolved from dumb. |
jonbellion:Ahn ahn... Seun come and see. We evolved with them? Who then are our original ancestors we evolved from.? |
4everGod:Hmmmmmmm.. This is possible following seun's line of reasoning. How flawed. |
AngelsAndStars:Seconded |
jonbellion:Why is it wrong? ![]() |
Seun:We evolved from dumb to wise? If we evolved from monkeys, how come we still have monkeys? Like Lambanopeace's picture, what happened to those in between our evolution? Where are they? Or do you mean we just moved from monkey to man? By the way, it is impossible to evolve from dumb to smart, if not monkeys being our original ancestors should have been super smarter. |
MrMontella:Read my post carefully and show me where I mentioned bacteria. Meanwhile, I asked seun this question, which he slyly avoided and taught us evolution. Let me ask him further Do you really think we evolved from dumb to wise? I mean, think about it |
Three Cardinal Virtues - Friday, December 2nd Pastor Chris And now abide these three, faith, hope, love; but the greatest of these is love (1 Corinthians 13:13 WESNT). When Jesus walked the earth, there was something unique and different about His message; it was characterised by these three cardinal virtues: faith, hope, and love. When He spoke, faith came alive in the hearers. He introduced the Father to them and unveiled the Father’s will for their lives. He let them know what God had done for them and how to walk in their divine inheritance. Jesus also gave the people hope through His message; He made the future real and gave them a reason to believe in the future. His message also expressed and communicated the love of God. Not only did He speak words of blessings to the people, He also touched them and related to them with love. He helped them know that the Father loved them, because of the way He (Jesus) loved them. He manifested “Liquid love”—ever-flowing love. You felt it when you were in His presence. Even those He reprimanded felt and experienced His love. He was love in motion. That was what attracted even the little children to Him; they ran to Him whenever they saw Him. The crowd wouldn’t stop thronging Him; the Bible says, “…And the common people heard him gladly” (Mark 12:37). People from everywhere came to Jesus, to hear Him, and be with Him, because in His words, they heard and saw love. In His presence, they were comforted, strengthened, filled with hope, and their faith came alive. As a Christian or minister of the Gospel, if you desire the kind of results Jesus had, then these three virtues should be an awesome attraction in your life: faith, hope, and love. They must be evidently expressed in your actions, words, character, and behaviour. In ministering the Gospel, let faith flow from you to your listeners. Inspire hope in their hearts, and most of all, let them experience the love of Jesus, and know in their hearts that He loves them unconditionally. Hallelujah! Confession... I’m an able, competent, and effective minister of the Gospel of Christ, manifesting the virtues of faith, hope, and love. I’m spreading the Gospel with passion, fervour and dedication; The love of Christ is evident in my actions, heard in my words, seen in my character, and reflected in my conduct. I’m bringing salvation to people everywhere, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Further Study: Hebrews 11:6 But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Romans 5:2-5 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only [so], but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; 4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope: 5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. Galatians 5:5-6 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. 6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love. 4everGod:My thoughts exactly... Some of these folks don't realize not everyone has the time to fool around, some actually think we came to share cheeseballs. |
EyeHateGod:No son! You're missing the mark.. My point is, there must have been a designer. In other words, Atheists are fooling themselves. Lest I forget, don't answer questions I specifically directed to someone else. Y'all claim you have high IQs... I laugh. This guy in the OP, AngelsAndStars has a very low IQ... Same with you, that's why I directed the question to seun. Let him answer, if he doesn't, I can make a general conclusion on nairaland Atheists. I suggests Christians here should leave the OP in his folly, the Atheists should have a field day here. Cheers |
Seun:Seun, hold up a bit... Let's look at this from a different perspective. You're a programmer, great. The DNA code we all know, informs and programs a cell's behavior. All instruction, all teaching, all training comes with intent. Someone who writes an instruction manual does so with purpose. Did you know that in every cell of our bodies there exists a very detailed instruction code, much like a miniature computer program? As you may know, a computer program is made up of ones and zeros, like this: 110010101011000. The way they are arranged tell the computer program what to do. The DNA code in each of our cells is very similar. It's made up of four chemicals that scientists abbreviate as A, T, G, and C. These are arranged in the human cell like this: CGTGTGACTCGCTCCTGAT and so on. There are three billion of these letters in every human cell!! Well, just like you can program your phone to beep for specific reasons, DNA instructs the cell. DNA is a three-billion-lettered program telling the cell to act in a certain way. It is a full instruction manual. Why is this so amazing? One has to ask....how did this information program wind up in each human cell? These are not just chemicals. These are chemicals that instruct, that code in a very detailed way exactly how the person's body should develop. Natural, biological causes are completely lacking as an explanation when programmed information is involved. You cannot find instruction, precise information like this, without someone intentionally constructing it. So, pray tell... How do you think these came about? |
AngelsAndStars:Why? Because we're shining some good lights on the things you saying? |
Eyehategod...
|
AngelsAndStars:Wisdom is relative? Hmmmmmmm, seun, what sayeth thou? Do you actually believe his IQ really went up? |
Seun:Why then do you choose to investigate or mock a God that does not exist or rather, a God you do not believe in ? Why do atheists answer questions about God if they don't believe that there is one or believe in one?' |
Success By The Spirit - Thursday, December 1st . Pastor Chris Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts (Zechariah 4:6). Success in life and in any endeavour isn’t in anything that one’s physical might or strength produces or can produce; true success is in the Spirit and by the Spirit. It’s not about something you’re doing or not doing; it’s about your relationship with the Holy Spirit; that’s what makes the difference, and that’s the most important factor for your success. The Bible says, “So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy” (Romans 9:16). Life is spiritual. Until and unless you walk in the realm which God has brought you into, and function at that level, life will be for you a hard journey. You’ll be making efforts in vain. But if you’re in a passionate, intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit, He’ll breathe on everything you do and see to its success. The man who’s in fellowship with the Holy Spirit, yielded to Him for guidance and inspiration is the one described for us in Psalm 1:3: “And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.” The Holy Spirit is your guarantee for a life of absolute, unending success. He’s the One that glorifies your life and brings you into favours and promotions, and opens doors of blessings for you that no man can shut. He’s all you need. Let the glory of Christ, resplendent in your spirit and exuding from you, be the attraction in your life. Abide in Him. He’s everything you need. Remember the words of Jesus, “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you” (John 15:7). Prayer... Dear heavenly Father, thank you for the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit in my life, who causes me to do and walk in your perfect will. I experience, even now, the supply and ministry of the Spirit to be effective in the ministry of the Gospel, communicating your divine presence to my world, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Further Study: Ecclesiastes 9:11 I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race [is] not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all. John 15:4-8 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5 I am the vine, ye [are] the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. 6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast [them] into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. 8 Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. Celebrate The Word In Your Life - Tuesday, November 29th . Pastor Chris In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God (John 1:1). Some people don’t know how to celebrate the Word of God in their lives. When they hear the Word, to them, it’s just another sermon; so they don’t give personality and honour to the Word. They’ve never placed a premium on the Word of God. The Word should mean everything to you, because our lives are built with it; God builds Himself into us through the Word. The greatest thing you could ever have on this earth is the Word, because everything came from it; it created the whole world: “All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made” (John 1:3). The Word of God is God. So, always be excited to give glory to, and celebrate the Word. To celebrate the Word is to celebrate Jesus, because Jesus is the living Word. The true celebration of the Word is doing the Word; living in, and by the Word. James 1:22 says, “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” Some have only stored the Word in their hearts, but that’s not enough. You have to act on the Word. You have to keep meditating on the Word so it’ll grow mightily in you and prevail. As you celebrate the Word, your life becomes the expression and effulgence of His wisdom, glory, and grace. Hallelujah. Prayer... Holy Father, I thank you for the wonderful gift of your Word. As I celebrate your Word with joy and excitement, its power is released to accomplish what it talks about in my life, making me the effulgence and expression of your praise and glory, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Further Study: Jeremiah 15:16 Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts. James 1:25 But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth [therein], he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed. Psalm 19:7 The law of the LORD [is] perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD [is] sure, making wise the simple. Understanding The Scriptures - Friday, November 25th . Pastor Chris Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures (Luke 24:45). Many read the Bible but don’t understand the message of the Scriptures. The Bible contains the Word of God. It’s God’s testimony on what He said, what men said, what the devils said, what angels said, and what Jesus said. This means everything therein must be understood as to who’s talking and what the context of their speech or writing entails. It’s God’s testimony on the origin, life and destiny of man, spirits and their environments. For example, in studying the Bible about the early Church in the New Testament, it’s important to notice the period of growth that the early Church went through. The disciples didn’t know everything at once in the early Church. When you study the first fifteen chapters of the book of Acts, the Church at the time didn’t quite believe that the non-Jews were supposed to be in Christ. It was in the fifteenth chapter that they had a debate, a serious one, and Peter had to explain it to them, while James supported with scripture references (Acts 15:6-29). Therefore, when you’re studying the Bible, you should understand the thinking and culture of the people and writer at the time of writing. For instance, some of the teachings of Jesus in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John weren’t meant for the new creation. Some of those teachings aren’t for Christians to live by; they were for the Jewish mind; not for those who have received eternal life. He said to His disciples on one occasion, “How come you don’t have any faith?” (Mark 4:40). You can’t read that and think to yourself, “O, perhaps the reason things aren’t working out for me is that I don’t have any faith.” That’ll be a wrong assumption because there’s no Christian who doesn’t have faith. The Bible says, “…God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith” (Romans 12:3). It was possible for those that lived under the Old Testament to not have any faith, because they weren’t born again. They were people of the senses, who lived under the Law, and faith isn’t of the senses but of the Spirit. But everyone among us in Christ was given the measure of faith. Study the Scriptures with spiritual understanding and you’ll have a deeper insight into the past, present and future of God’s plans and purpose for the Church, for you, and for the world. Prayer... Dear Father, thank you for granting me an understanding of the Scriptures and making me wise unto salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. I’m so privileged to be graced with the ability to understand the mysteries of the Kingdom. Thank you, precious Holy Spirit, for teaching me all things, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. Further Study: Matthew 13:11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. John 14:26 But the Comforter, [which is] the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
