Rhapsody Of Realities TeeVo. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome PhD. Wednesday, May 18th 2016. NO MORE LIMITS! (The Holy Spirit Is Your Limit-Breaker!) TO THE BIBLE Philippians 4:13 CEV “Christ gives me the strength to face anything.” LET’S TALK. People often allow themselves to be held back by things they consider limitations in their lives. It reminds me of the story of Moses. Right after the Lord told him to go to Egypt and deliver the children of Israel, he said, “O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; but I am slow of speech and slow of tongue” (Exodus 4:10). In other words, Moses said to God, “I’m handicapped when it comes to speaking. Please send someone else!” The Lord had to remind Moses that He made the talking tongue (Exodus 4:11). Nonetheless, He recommended Aaron to be Moses’ spokesman. In the process of time, Moses became not only a great leader, but a great teacher too, speaking for and by himself. He got rid of his limitations! Understand that as a Christian, the Limit-breaker, who is the Holy Spirit, dwells in you! He’s taken every limitation off your life! You can be as great, successful, prosperous and victorious as you choose to be! Perhaps you’ve always dreamed of be com in g an engineer or a doctor, but your grades haven’t been up to par, and now you’re thinking you’ll never achieve that dream. It’s time to let go of that thought! Tell yourself, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me! I’ll be the best of me in the Name of Jesus!” Keep speaking God’s Word of victory, and soon enough, you’ll see its manifestation in your life. Express The Love Of Christ - Wednesday, May 18 Pastor Chris We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren (1 John 3:14-16). It's our calling to influence our world with the grace and beauty of Christ. You're to manifest His glory everywhere, and express His love to your world. God is love (1 John 4:8 & 16), and expressing His love is one of the ministries of a Christian; it sets you apart as a true disciple of Jesus Christ: "By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another" (John 13:35). The love of Jesus that you lavishly manifest should be the first thing that people notice about you. It should be the greatest attraction about your life. Love builds, lifts, and promotes. Let your love for those for whom Christ died be intense, and let it motivate you to intercede in prayer, and minister the Gospel to them. Let those you encounter be inspired, lifted, and challenged by your words and deeds of love. The Bible says the one who doesn't love, doesn't know God; he abides in death; spiritual death: "...He that loveth not his brother abideth in death" (1 John 3:14). You're no longer dominated by spiritual death or the power of darkness, because you love the brethren. It's natural for you to express love, and see the beauty in others and appreciate who they are. Love much. Love always. It's your calling in Christ. Hallelujah. Prayer... Dear Father, thank you for your Word that's at work an prevails in me mightily, producing in me a harvest of what it says. I'm committed more than ever, to walk in love, and express your goodness and righteousness everywhere. I influence those I meet today with your love that's in my heart and I make a difference in my world today, to your praise and glory, in Jesus' Name. Amen. Further Study: John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. 2 John 1:6 And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it. Rhapsody Of Realities TeeVo Tuesday, May 17th 2016 Pastor Chris Oyakhilome “IT IS WELL!” (Your Life Responses Are Important) TO THE BIBLE; 2 Kings 4:26 “Please run now to meet her, and say to her, ‘Is it well with you? Is it well with your husband? Is it well with the child?’ ” And she answered, “It is well.” LET’S TALK When you read the scripture above in context, you’ll see that the Shunammite woman was rushing to go see the Prophet Elisha, because her son had just died. On sighting her from a distance, Elisha asked his servant to go and enquire from her if all was well. When the prophet’s servant asked her, “Is it well with you, with your husband, and with your child?” she replied, “It is well.” At no time did she change her positive confession, and because of her persistence, she got her boy back to life. That’s faith! What would your response be if the college you applied to sent you a rejection letter? Would you say, “Nothing ever seems to go right for me” or “It’s all working out for my good”? If your grades weren’t up to par as you wanted, would you say, “I’m just a flop” or “Success is my birthright”? If you received sad news from home, would you declare God’s peace over your home or break down in tears? You must realise that it’s not just what happens in your life that’s important, but what you do about it. When the storms of life rage, you must learn to respond in faith and not according to your senses. Responding in faith will cause a change in the situation, while following your senses will cause you to be overcome. To respond in faith, you need to fill your heart with God’s Word, because faith comes by hearing the Word. Besides, your response would always be based on what is in your heart. So, the next time you feel the squeeze of life, don’t cry, run away, or wallow in self-pity. Focus on the Word, and declare what it says about your situation. GO DEEPER Romans 8:37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. SPEAK I’m more than a conqueror in this life. Our Oneness With Him - Tuesday, May 17 Pastor Chris But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit (1 Corinthians 6:17). In Christianity, what God has done is to make us one with Him. It's the biggest thing about our salvation in Christ Jesus—our oneness with the Lord. We're not mere followers or disciples of Jesus Christ, we're in fellowship with Him; it's a vital union. When you were born again, not only was your spirit recreated, you were also immersed into Christ; you're literally joined together with Him in an inseparable union. We're members of His body, of His flesh, and of His bones (Ephesians 5:30). We're associates of the God-kind; partakers personality are revealed to our spirits. Therefore, we can know Him, and relate to Him with and from our spirits. God may be a mystery to the spiritually unlearned, but not to you. His ways are now your ways, and His thoughts have become your thoughts. Through His Word, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, His will is unveiled to your spirit. Some people are never sure of God's will; they imagine Him as a complex, distant, mysterious being; therefore, they're unable to walk with Him. God's purpose is what He already accomplished in Christ: He brought you into oneness with Himself, so you can be synchronized with Him in thoughts and actions; so He can live out His perfect will and purposes in and through you. That's what living by the fullness of His wisdom (Greek: Phronesis) is about. Always, you do what you ought to do, say what you ought to say, at the right time, in the right way, in the right place, for the right purpose. Hallelujah! Prayer... Dear Father, my joy knows no bounds, to know that I've been brought into an inseparable union with you, to enjoy the bliss of rich and intimate fellowship with the Spirit! My life is the expression of your perfect will, as you manifest yourself to and through me today, in Jesus' Name. Amen. You Have A Sound Mind - Monday, May 16 Pastor Chris For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). As Christians, we have the mind of Christ, a sound mind; that means an excellent mind. It makes no difference how many people don't think you're sound, God says you are, therefore, see yourself in the same light, and talk accordingly. A sound or excellent mind is one that's fixed on the Word; one that's controlled and influenced by the Word, and doesn't vacillate. It's a renewed mind that stays the course, and keeps doing the right things, regardless of changing circumstances. A sound mind thinks and produces excellence only; it doesn't allow mediocrity and imperfection. God demands perfection. He said, "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect" (Matthew 5:48). That's why He gave you a sound mind, an anointed mind, so you'll be very excellent at what you do in a way that stands you out all the time. Affirm always that you're sound. Continually say to yourself, "I have an excellent spirit, and I do excellent things, because the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of excellence, lives in me. He has anointed my mind to produce excellence." Have this consciousness every day. The Scriptures testify that you have a sound mind, so, don't wait for anybody to say it about you. God said it, so you may boldly affirm the same thing: "...for he hath said...So that we may boldly say..." (Hebrews 13:5-6). So, even now, declare, "I have a sound mind. I do excellent things. I'm set apart for excellence!" Say this to yourself several times today. Confession... The Holy Spirit has made me super-intelligent; He has anointed my mind, therefore, I have an extraordinary amplitude of comprehension. I have quickness of understanding, and the wisdom of God is at work in me to produce excellent results to the glory of God. Further Study: 1 Corinthians 2:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ. NOT OF THIS WORLD (You Belong In God’s Spiritual Kingdom) Pastor Chris Oyakhilome PhD. Sunday, May 15th 2016 TO THE BIBLE Colossians 3:2-4 “Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.” LET’S TALK. “I’m not of this world; I’m from above!” Tyler declared boldly and loudly while praying. Marty, his kid brother, overheard him and later asked, “Hey, Tyler, you said you’re not of this world; does that mean you’re an alien?” “No Marty, I’m not an alien, but you see, when you’re born again, you become a citizen of God’s heavenly kingdom. That’s why I said I’m not of this world, but from above, just like Jesus.” The Lord Jesus Himself said, “…My kingdom is not of this world…” (John 18:36), which means He actually does have a Kingdom. By virtue of the new birth, you’ve become a citizen of that spiritual kingdom of God, and this is where God expects you to function from. This world isn’t your permanent home; you’re here only temporarily. According to the Bible, we’re only going to be in this world for a while, because the whole earth will be replaced with another one soon (Revelation 21:1). Therefore, you must set your focus on those things that truly matter, and not on the fleeting pleasures of this present world (Colossians 3:2-4). Until, and unless you come to that level in your life where Christ is your focus, you’ll be living an empty life. Let nothing compete with your love for the Lord. Get to that point where your love for Jesus and the expansion of His kingdom are all that matter to you. Saved For A Reason - Sunday, May 15 Pastor Chris ...but according to his own purpose...now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel (2 Timothy 1:9-10). The real message of Christianity isn't about a saviour. Of course, Jesus Christ is the Saviour of the world, but He didn't just come to save us. If that were all He came to do, it wouldn't have been adequate for righteousness. In Christianity, there's much more than being saved. Deuteronomy 6:23 gives us the key to God's purpose: "And he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he sware unto our fathers." Notice the verse doesn't say, "He brought us out and brought us in." He brought us out (saved us) for a reason: "that He might bring us in." This expression is about one word: Purpose. But that's not all. He "brought us in" to give us the land of our inheritance and make us great, as He said to Abraham. God had said to Abraham, "I will make you great and I will make your seed after you great." But his descendants became slaves in Egypt, and that wasn't greatness. When it was time for His purpose for their lives to be realized, so that they'd become the great ones that He wanted them to be, He set them free, brought them into a place of liberty, and gave them the land. When Jesus came, He brought us out of sin that we might inherit His righteousness. He brought us out of pain and penury that we might have life in abundance, a life of prosperity and abundant wealth. He didn't just come to save us; He came to give us "the land," that we might live in prosperity, health and soundness every day in this earth, and live to the praise of His glory. That way, we can help others learn about Him, so they can have a great life too. Prayer... Dear Father, I thank you for my inheritance in Christ. I'm a joint-heir with Christ; therefore, I know no lack. I'm abundantly supplied because I'm the seed of Abraham. I'm an able representative of our heavenly kingdom here on earth, and I'm winning others to the Lord in Jesus' Name. Amen. Further Study: Ephesians 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: Romans 8:16-17 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. WHAT ARE YOU THINKING? (Your Thoughts Shape Your Life) Saturday, May 14th Pastor Chris Oyakhilome TO THE BIBLE; Proverbs 4:23 GNB “Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts.” LET’S TALK Stephanie never quite recognised the power of her thoughts; she would usually allow her mind and thoughts run wild in the negative direction. As a result, she constantly went from one negative experience to another. One day, at church, the Pastor taught on Philippians 4:8 and she suddenly realised what her negative thinking had been doing to her! She learnt how to guard her heart from the wrong thoughts, and sure enough, her life turned around for the better. You might be wondering, “Is it true that my thoughts control my life?” Emphatically yes! Your thoughts actually determine the quality of your life, because you are a reflection of your thoughts. Proverbs 23:7 says “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he....” It matters a great deal the thoughts that go through your mind, because your life can’t be different from the character of your thoughts. Your mind is the doorway to your spirit. If it isn’t filled with the right kind of information, you won’t be able to receive guidance from the Holy Spirit as you should. So you’ve got to consciously decide to think the right thoughts. Make up your mind that you’ll think only on God’s Word. Don’t think like the world does; use God’s Word to change your thought-life, and as you meditate on the Word, it’ll change you. It’ll make you think, talk, and act right, and cause you to walk in continuous success and victory. GO DEEPER Joshua 1:8-9 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Philippians 4:8-9 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you. PRAY Dear Father, your Word is in my heart and in my mouth; I meditate upon it day and night and thereby make my way prosperous. Your Word saturates my entire mind, spirit and body, leaving no room for negative thoughts to steal in. Thank you for the precious gift of your Word, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. He Proved The Father's Love - Saturday, May 14 Pastor Chris But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5: .The Lord Jesus came to show us what God is like. He revealed Himself to us to let us know how much God loves us, and how that He's more willing and concerned for our success than we could ever be. He desires our good more than we could ever want. The human mind, however, can't figure this out. "How could God love me?" one may ask, but Jesus proved that He does. Jesus was different from all the patriarchs and the prophets; He was different from Abraham, Jacob, Isaac, Moses, Joshua, etc. The prophets preached and prophesied judgments: "...If you sin, be sure your sins shall find you out" (Numbers 32:23). Ezekiel prophesied, "...The soul that sinneth shall die" (Ezekiel 18:4). Moses commanded the children of Israel, according to the Law, to stone people to death who had committed certain sins. But when Jesus came, He brought grace and truth: "For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ" (John 1:17). The Bible says by Him, all who believe are justified from all things, from which they couldn't be justified by the law of Moses (Acts 13:39). It's a new day! Glory to God! Jesus proved the Father's love. The Father has always loved us. Jeremiah 31:3 says, "The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love...." To prove His great love for us, He sent Jesus: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16). The Father couldn't do any more than He did when He sent His Son, Jesus Christ. That's all He needed to do to demonstrate His love for us, and He did it. Enjoy the love of God today, knowing that He did the utmost that could have ever been done to prove His love for you. You're, indeed, valuable to Him. Prayer... Lord Jesus, thank you for paying the price that I could never have paid, in demonstration of the Father's unconditional love, mercy, and overwhelming kindness towards me. Now I live joyfully in righteousness, free to serve you without guilt, inferiority or condemnation. I walk in this consciousness. Hallelujah! Further Study: Ephesians 3:17-19 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. 1 John 4:8-10 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. 10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Seize The Moment: Preach The Gospel Now - Friday, May 13 Pastor Chris Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine (2 Timothy 4:2). Our opening verse was Apostle Paul's charge to Timothy. He said, "Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season...." This is God's charge to you today; preach the Word, in season and out of season. There're nations today where you can't preach the Gospel openly, but some years ago, they were open. Preach the Word now before the doors of some nations are closed; some cities will be closed very soon, and you won't be able to preach the Gospel there, like you can now. There're many ways that a nation or city gets closed. For instance, when in a country, there're cities and states where you can't organize open-air gospel meetings because of prohibitions, it means that city or nation is closed. Even when you attempt to organise such meetings, the security agencies will tell you, "We can't accept or allow you to do it." Another example is when some nations enact laws against conversion, so that it becomes difficult for a Christian to lead someone else to Christ. Some even prohibit personal conversion; meaning, no one is allowed to convert himself from the state religion to Christianity. Jesus said, "I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work" (John 9:4). The time to preach the Gospel is now! If the Spirit of God is leading you and giving you a vision to organize soul-winning outreaches, do it quickly. Seize the moment! If you wait, it might be too late. Be relentless in your evangelical work. Don't take it for granted if you're still able to distribute Rhapsody of Realities in your city or country; do it more now, while you can. Pray for the nations of the world, and move quickly. Treasure the freedom and opportunities you have now to preach the Gospel. Prayer... Dear Father, I thank you for the opportunities I have to preach the Word to those around me. I move with the speed and urgency of the Spirit, guided by your wisdom in leading many to righteousness. I receive increased grace and ability to fulfil the ministry of reconciliation to those in my world, and in the regions beyond, in Jesus' Name. Amen. Friday, May 13th, 2016. YOU’RE EXCEPTIONAL! (Stand Out And Set the Pace) Pastor Chris Oyakhilome TO THE BIBLE 1 Peter 2:9 AMP. “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God’s] own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” LET’S TALK. There’re people who think there’s nothing special or unique about them as Christians. They believe they’re ordinary and are comfortable to be referred to as such. You’ll hear them say things like, “Let’s not act like we’re so special”; and they dislike it and get upset when you talk about your uniqueness. Let’s look at Abraham, “the father of faith,” for a moment. He was from a large family with many relatives, yet God spoke to him alone, and told him, “Leave your country, your family, and your father’s home for a land that I will show you” (Genesis 12:1 MSG). I can imagine the people back then must have thought he was out of his mind, wondering, “How can he claim that God asked him to leave his father’s land and embark on a journey without a known destination?” But Abraham set out by faith in God’s Word, as outrageous as that may have seemed, and history shows us he was right. Abraham was exceptional, and that should tell you something about your exceptionalism as well, because you’re the seed of Abraham. Being exceptional means that you’re uniquely different in some way, and you know it. You recognise that your beliefs and ideas are important and superior, and that inspires you to leadership. Understand that, as a Christian, you’re extra special; you belong to the greatest family—the family of God—and to a special lineage of grace. This truth about who you are should inspire you to show God’s love everywhere you go. Tell others about Him, so they too can join our glorious family and become citizens of our great spiritual nation. You’re exceptional, so think and live accordingly. GO DEEPER Psalms 139:14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. James 2:23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God. Being A True Minister Of The Gospel - Thursday, May 12th . Pastor Chris Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you (Matthew 5:11-12). When, as a Christian you're effective in soul-winning, ministering faith, hope and love to others, you become an easy target for persecution. Not everyone will accept you. Nevertheless, remember, not everyone accept Christ either. That's why He said in Matthew 10:24-25, "The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord. It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?" You shouldn't be surprised when, after you've acted in love and shown kindness to some people, they turn against you and do terrible things to hurt you. It's not right to get angry and say in regret: "After all I've done for them?" Remember that you did what you did in the Name of the Lord. If you did it in His Name, why do you care? You might even think God would punish the other fellow for saying nasty things about you, but He won't; He actually doesn't want to punish him. The Bible says, "...it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish" (Matthew 18:14). Rather, He's looking for someone that'll intercede for him. Instead of thinking God will punish those who are unkind to you, pray for them; that's being a true minister of the Gospel. Understand that the more committed you are to the things of God, the more His glory will be revealed in your life, and the more some people will hate and persecute you for it. When that happens, don't respond angrily; rather, respond in love. 2 Timothy 3:12 says, "Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution." When you're persecuted, always remember that you were sent, not in your own name, but in the Name of Jesus. Therefore, the Lord Himself shall be your defence, and reward. Prayer... Dear Father, I thank you for the comfort of the Scriptures. The Holy Spirit strengthens me with might in my inner man, to be effective in the ministry of the Gospel of Christ, irrespective of the tests, trials, and persecutions that I may face. The love of Christ compels and controls my actions, in Jesus' Name. Amen. The Word In You - Wednesday, May 11 Pastor Chris Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God (Luke 8:11). The Lord has given us His Word. The Bible says in Psalm 107:20, "He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions." If you’d receive God’s Word into your heart, it’ll change your life. I’m convinced that if you’d place yourself under the ministry of the Word long enough, you’ll make tremendous progress and your life will be a display of the efficacy of the Word. Some people may not agree with this because their experiences have been different. They’ve been in church for so long, yet they’re confused about life. They say, "I’ve been going through so much, yet nothing has changed. I’m confused." Such people might have been long in the church, but they haven’t given themselves to the Word. They may have messages on DVD and other formats, but the message isn’t in them. You need the message in your heart, not on your shelf or device. Until and unless the Word takes root in your heart, it won’t produce results. If you kept corn seeds in the best refrigerator or in the vault of the best bank in the world, you won’t have a crop. If you placed them on the marble floor of your room and turned on the air conditioner, you still wouldn’t have a crop. The seeds must be placed in the right environment to have a crop. You may have all the editions of Rhapsody of Realities since inception, but what really counts is that you’re reading and digesting them. The message must be inside you to produce result. One of the first signs that the Word has taken root in your spirit is that it’ll affect your way of thinking. The Word renews your mind. If it hasn’t transformed your mind, it hasn’t entered inside you; and thus, its influence and effect in your life will be limited. So, keep the Word in you through study and meditation. Don’t assume you know; that’s the cause of the destruction of many. They assume they know until the hour of crisis comes and they panic. Moving to the next and higher level in life means you must give more attention to the Word of God. Always meditate on the Word. Inevitably, your progress will be evident to all. Prayer... Dear Father, I thank you for the Word, by which I’m transformed. The Word is in my heart, working on my mind and giving me the right mindset. Your Word, oh Lord, is my meditation day and night, and it produces in and through me, the character of its message, in Jesus’ Name. The Faith-environment (Believe And Act On What God Says) - Wednesday, May 11th 2016. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome To The Bible: James 1:22 MSG “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” Let's Talk. God’s Word is all-powerful! It has the unique ability to produce in you whatever it talks about. However, the Word won’t produce results for you except you do what it says. And to get the Word working, you’ve got to create the right environment—the faith-environment—by believing and acting on it. Study the faith of Abraham in the Bible, and you’ll find that he knew how to set up the right environment for God’s Word to work. He mixed the Word with his faith and gave glory to God. He believed what the Lord told him about being a father of many nations, though he was a hundred years old, and his wife ninety (Genesis 17:5, Romans 4:17). Romans 4:19-21 tells us more: “Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was good as dead—since he was about a hundred years old—and Sarah’s womb was dead: Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God; being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised” (NIV). Abraham exhibited four vital faith qualities that got God’ s Word working in his life: One: he didn’t consider physical circumstances. Two: he didn’t waver. Three: He gave glory to God. And four: he was fully persuaded. This is how you create the faith-environment. When you personalise , apprehend, appropriate, and take a stand on God’s Word for yourself, like Abraham, you’ll get your desired results. Go Deeper Hebrews 4:2; James 1:22 Pray... Dear Father, I thank you for your Word that builds my faith and confidence in you! As I put your Word to work in my life today, my success, progress, and prosperity are guaranteed, in Jesus’ Name. “Prevail” With God (Win First In The Spirit). - Tuesday, May 10th 2016. To the Bible Genesis 32:24 “And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.” Let's Talk . Jacob had cheated his brother Esau and fled to another land. Esau, who had become a very strong man, had vowed to take revenge against him. So, when Jacob wanted to return to his homeland, he knew he was in trouble and could lose everything, including his life, if he did nothing about the situation. So, he decided to “settle” the matter with God. He knew he’d have to prevail with God first, to prevail with his brother. The Bible tells us that the Angel of the Lord appeared to Jacob, and he wrestled with the Angel all night long (Genesis 32:24-30). When you study this account carefully, you’ll see that Jacob wrestled and prevailed with God in prayer! As a result, his name was changed to “Israel,” leading to a complete turnaround in his life. Hosea 12:3-4 gives even more insight to this: “…in his strength he struggled with God. Yes, he struggled with the Angel and prevailed; He wept, and sought favor from Him….” You see, before your victory shows on the outside, you’d need to win first in the spirit. You prevail first with God, before you prevail with men. This doesn’t mean forcing Him to do something for you; no. What it simply means is that you continue in heartfelt intercession, until you see and apprehend your victory in the spirit. When you win first in the spirit, nothing in this world will be able to successfully stand against you. Go Deeper Galatians 5:21; 1 Corinthians 15:57 Pray Dear Father, you’ve shown forth the splendour of your right hand on my behalf! You Rule On His Behalf - Tuesday, May 10 Pastor Chris The LORD will send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thy enemies (Psalm 110:2). Talking about the Lord Jesus, the Bible says, "...he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet" (1 Corinthians 15:25). This isn't about Him reigning in heaven, but in the earth. Legally, God has put all things under His feet. Ephesians 1:22 says, "And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church." So, Jesus is the head over all things. Isaiah 9:6 says, "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder...." Notice, it doesn't say the government shall be upon His head, but upon His shoulder. Jesus is the head; the government is upon His shoulder, that is, His body—the Church. Therefore, when the Psalmist declared, "The LORD will let your power reach out from Zion, and you will rule over your enemies" (Psalm 110:2 CEV), it's through the Church—His body that He rules. He rules through us. As a member of the body of Christ, you rule on His behalf. Even if you thought you were the smallest toe in the feet, you're still above all things, because you're seated with Christ, "far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come" (Ephesians 1:21). Glory to His Name forever! What this means is that in these last days, as a child of God, you're expected to arise and take your place of dominion, and reign in the Name of Jesus over circumstances. Romans 5:17 says, "...they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ." The actual Greek rendering of the word "reign" in the verse above is the verb "to king." You're called "to king" (reign) in life. Kings make decrees. So, speak the Word and see it happen. The world and the fullness thereof has been given to you; so, be bold to take possession because you have the rulership. Command every contrary storm to be still in the Name of Jesus. Refuse to be sick, refuse to be poor. Be in charge and in control, winning every day. Reign and rule in life as the king that you are. Confession... I'm what God say I am. I'm a member of His body, of His flesh and of His bones, reigning, ruling, and prevailing over circumstances. By the power of God's Spirit, I take possession of all that belongs to me in Christ, enjoying my life to the full, to the glory of His Name. Blessed be God! Don't Lag In Zeal - Sunday, May 8 Pastor Chris Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord (Romans 12:11). The Apostle Paul, in our opening verse, admonishes the Church on the right and proper attitude to maintain in serving the Lord. He says, "Don't be slothful in business," meaning that you shouldn't lag in zeal, but fervent in spirit, serving the Lord. The word "fervent" as used in this context is translated from the Greek "zeó," which means to boil with heat for liquids, and to glow with heat for solids. That means there's a boiling in your spirit with the Word of God, and a glow on the outside. That means you're on fire for God. Clearly, God wants you to be zealous in the Church. He doesn't want you to be lukewarm or complacent. Some people are that way; they're neither here nor there, and God doesn't like it. His Word shows us His disposition towards spiritual lethargy and complacency. In Revelation 3:15-16, He said to the church at Laodicea, "I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth." Be zealous about the things of God. Don't just be satisfied to go to church once a week; get vitally involved in your local assembly. Be active in soul winning and other evangelical activities in your church. Be zealous for good works (Titus 2:14). Take up a responsibility in the house of God. Do something. Don't wait until the pastor gives you an assignment. The Pastor may give you an assignment, but there're not enough assignments inside the building to give everyone. There're however, more than enough assignments outside in winning people, in encouraging and bringing them to church. That's a lot of work, and a blessed opportunity for you to be an ambassador, both of Christ and of the Church. It's important that you work as a soul winner; be zealous to touch the lives of others with the Gospel, and take them with you to church. Confession... I'm steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that my labour isn't in vain in the Lord. My passion for the Lord, and the things of the Spirit are fueled continually by the Holy Ghost. I'm an ambassador for Christ and of the Church, zealous in turning many to righteousness. Hallelujah. Further Study: John 2:17 And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up. 2 Kings 10:16 And he said, Come with me, and see my zeal for the Lord. When you deliver yourself to the lordship of the Spirit, it means you're now learning to walk with the Holy Ghost. Let me take you to 2 Corinthians 13:14 14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen. Now understand this, he said "The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ", and I told you you give your self over to the word of His grace, the lordship of the word. The next thing is the love of God, the lordship of love in your life. The third one is the communion of the Spirit. It's talking about the lordship of the spirit which comes through fellowship. It's an intercourse with the Spirit of God, it's an intimacy with the Spirit of God. He ceases to be thing or phenomenon, or smoke or cloud... He becomes a person in your life, one that has emotions. As you learn the personality of the Spirit, knowing that He's wiser than you and then you'd find Him building you up. He's able. Yielding and learning to walk with the Spirit launches you into His perfect will, where you are in the center of His will for your life, and hence can never go wrong. #shalom |
Romans 12 1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Meditation and giving up your thoughts for God's thoughts is very important for the Christian. From the above we've charged to be transformed (transfigured) by the renewing of our mind by the Word. It's the only way to be able to prove What's the good, acceptable and the Perfect will of God. Let me explain these in detail. When the word of God gains ascendency in your life, at the beginning level, through the word of God, we know the good will of God because the good will of God is revealed in the Word. Then the Word, as it builds you up, it delivers you to the Lordship of love. When love gains dominion over your life, it begins to reveal to your the acceptable will of God. What then is the acceptable will of God? The Acceptable will of God is that will of God that you DO NOT FIND in the written Word about life's issues, but because you're walking in love, you can know what to do and when you do it in love, God accepts it as His acceptable will. He accepts it, because it's an act of love. In summary the things we do out of God's love, even though the written word says nothing about it, but because we acted in love, God accepts it. It's a higher level in the Christian faith. Now, God never talks confusing, notice He said, the Good, The Acceptable and the Perfect will . So, as we could not find ABC about a subject in the written word, you could not quote a particular scripture about that thing, but because you acted in love, it's acceptable with God. Please note, until you walk in love, you'd never know the acceptable will of God. When things face you in life, you begin to ask "is it right ", "is it wrong? ", because you actually don't know and can't find a scripture about it, hence you're confused. But when you begin to walk in love, you begin to release the mind of God. Let me give you an example in the bible. When you study the writings of Paul, in certain cases, you find he says; I have no commandment of the Lord about this, but I speak as one that's been given favour of God. 1Co 7:25 Now concerning virgins I have no commandment of the Lord: yet I give my judgment, as one that hath obtained mercy of the Lord to be faithful. 1Co 7:6 But I speak this by permission, and not of commandment. 2Co 8:8 I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love. Etc Paul had the audacity to speak in the place of the Lord, about certain actions and about certain things, that the Lord hadn't said anything about. He dared speak in the place of God, and it was accepted as scriptures for us,because he spoke in love, for God and for us. This is the acceptable will of God, a higher level, where/when issues come up and you think with God, with the eyes of live with the mind if love, you've been trained in the walk of love by the Spirit, through the Word, and you look now at a situation, and you understand the mind of God concerning it from a higher perspective, and then you speak for God...and God says "that's right, son!" You know God hasn't said anything specifically about a matter or situation, but now you spoke on His behalf and He accepts it. The last of it is the perfect will of God. Now, firstly you have to understand that you first yield yourself to the lordship of the word so that it gains ascendency in your life. Then the word moves you to the next level where you yield to the lordship of love, and live gains the mastery, now you understand the good will of God (because it's written in the book), the acceptable will (because you walk in love)... This moves you to the next, the lordship of the Spirit. When you deliver yourself to the lordship of the Spirit, it means you're now learning to walk with the Holy Ghost. Let me take you to 2 Corinthians 13:14 |
Think Differently - Saturday, May 7 Pastor Chris Let your conversation be without covetousness...for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me (Hebrews 13:5-6). The economic situation in the world today may have left many homeless and terrified, bus as a Christian, you must think differently, because you're not of this world. You're from another plane, a higher realm, where you live above the elements and rudiments of this world. Colossians 2:20 lets us know that you're dead with Christ to the rudiments of the world. The world's economic systems can't work against you. Understand that everything in this world is an instrument for your use. They shouldn't rule over you; the economy shouldn't dominate you, or dictate the circumstances of your existence. You're greater than inflation and the economy. You're bigger than this world! 1 John 5:4 says, "For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith." The world is yours and everything in it; therefore, think and function differently. Live from the mountain-top. Job 22:29 says, "When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up..." And in Jeremiah 17:7-8, the Spirit says, "Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit." This is the reality about you, because you're the seed of Abraham. Your success, progress, and prosperity are guaranteed, even in austere times. Hallelujah! Economic problems aren't new; they happened in Bible days. However, God always led His people through them victoriously. Let your mind soar beyond the country where you live. Have the mentality of a victor. Choose to see things from God's eternal perspective, and continuously live with the consciousness that you're from above. You can never be disadvantaged, because you're not of this world. You're God's heir; and He's programmed everything in life to work in your favour: "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28). Confession... The Lord God has bestowed on me favour and honour! I live a higher life, a life that's beyond this world. I'm the blessed of the Lord! I'm prosperous and sound, and I lack nothing, for all things are mine! Glory to God! HardMirror:You have no idea So can you trust God enough that if your should get an accident and lose your leg God will restore it back? This is where you erred. You exist for God not the other way around. Why would I even focus on the tragedy and then the solution instead of focusing of my safety in Him? I mean an amputated leg or arm.Nothing is impossible with God. If the answer is no, then what limits God.Refer to the above answer If the answer is yes, then there are so many amputee wishing for a chance to get their legs back. There's so many mad men on the streets, all doctors doctors have failed us. There are many people with unkempt hair and beards looking crazy, therefore all barbers are useless and have failed us. ![]() See how warped your logic is? Do you remember the case of that boy whose eyes were gorged out by ritualists? What are you waiting for? Let's pray the boys eyes back.Hehehehhhehe... I now see your lane! ![]() Atheists are my best fun tools. I like your desperate move to escape morality and consequences for your actions... But that's your folly, for in the end, you'd meet the boss himself, whether you believe or not. For how long do we want to give God credit for things he never did and blame man for things God is supposed to do?Why are you angry with someone/something you already said doesn't exist? ![]() It's always OK to look for who to blame for our problems, it's man's default setting. I mean, Adam blamed eve, who blamed the serpent. You blame God now for your woes and the weight of your conscience. Every thing created by God has an element of God in it, animate and inanimate. That includes you, and your soul will always long for its creator, whether you like it or not. |
HardMirror:You're the one amusing me... You know some folks get up somewhere, and try to blame God for their responsibilities, then in order to escape their conscience they feign atheism, when deep down inside they know they can't even explain their existence, the mind, and they can't even go challenge a sorcerer. Wait for my story to end.

HardMirror:Hello sir, I've read your post to a great extent and was very intrigued. I was however more particular if you'd not brought it here to the feasting of the marauding atheists here, and if you've already made it a decision to bring it here, no Wahala. We're here now, so, let's roll. I could relate with all you wrote and personally was on this lane at some point. Let me tell you a story. I joined Christ Embassy in the year 2010, I was a well brought us Anglican boy, and at a point in life, I would say I became agnostic because of the church politics and it seemed God was cool with it. I mean, imagine a church suing your dad (a messy court case my dad won) then imagine the church folks look at you as a kid of the one who 'defeated the church'. It was a big church, St Paul's Anglican Church, Jos. I left church for close to 16 months, till I was invited to Christ Embassy, my stay was in itself a miracle, but that story is for another day. In these 6 years, I've seen the miraculous, handled the word of truth, I've healed the sick, minister the Holy Spirit to folks, I've smelt demons (they smell more terrible than anything worse you've smelt on earth) . I've seen cancers quenched, I've seen ailments disappear... I've seen stroke, fibroid etc go away. I've seen the barren carry their babies just by words. All these happened after I met Joagbaje and attended services with him. Then meetings with Pastor Chris, I mean... I've seen it all. My first healing was of a two year old boy in the slums of Onopa, Yenagoa. I could remember it was a Thursday, and I was privileged to be in leaders' meeting with Joagbaje in Yenagoa the Tuesday before. He spoke about demonstrating the Power of the Spirit, he was speaking to cell leaders and Bible study class teachers. I sat there, listening and wondering at what he spoke about. That day, I went to see this young teenager I knew because she was one of those my "disciples" in Yenagoa... I got alot of them teens to church. That was when I found out she had a two year old son, she was just 16. This lad had pus coming out of his ear, from the inside, I mean the INSIDE of his head. It was smelly that other grown ups avoided him. I asked her, "why you no carry this boy go hospital na? " I said in awe She retorted " I don carry am go clinic, them don give am medicine tore, and I no get money to go FMC" I was like "If I pray for him, he'd get well". After saying that, I began processing what I just said... "did I just say that?" All I could think of is what I heard in the previous meeting and how pastor Chris does it in programmes and healing school. I was not getting a kind of a anger from within. "Junior" she yelled, calling the young lad who suddenly bolted out after I said he'd be healed. He wasn't about stopping till some other kids, say 8 and 9 years old caught him and brought him back. He was seriously wailing now. She said "uncle wants to pray for you, stay when he's done I'll buy you biscuit, you hear?" And he reluctantly came towards me as I gently pulled him towards me. His gaze was on mine, and he trembled, either out of fear of a stranger or otherwise, I didn't bother. I was sitting, and when he was fully in front of me, I put my two hands covering both ears, now... I don't know what to say or pray about, I just knew he's gotta be healed. I dint speak in tongues my full focus was on him and seeing him healed. Pictures of pastor Chris kept flooding my mind and Joagbaje's words the other day. It was the moment, I was putting God on the spot. It was my first time. Then with my eyes closed, I remember saying "Precious Jesus, I thank you for this boy and the healing you'd do today. Right now, I command every demon responsible for this affliction to come of this body. I rebuke you spirit of death, come out of him, in the Name of Jesus." Then I was mute for like 2 secs or so, then continued "be healed in your ears, be healed in your blood, in the name of Jesus! " Now, the mum was uninterested in the episode as she's seen plenty prayers. The young boy was quite now, one would think he was almost going to sleep. Then I took of my hands, and he ran off. I told the mum to call me tonight about it, she affirmed she will. Boy! I couldn't wait to tell everyone, but I was like "let me wait first" (later on the Spirit of God rebuked me on that , he does it harshly ehn. I late knew he relates with us according to how we've yielded to him, some folks he just whispers or pamper them while rebuking). That night, her number wasn't connecting, those who's stayed in Bayelsa will know how the Power issue is,however, I couldn't go on Friday, so I went on Saturday. I met her in a joyous spirit as she spotted me, she apologises for not calling and I not wanting much talk asked how about the boy. She said it dried up since then, I asked of the lad, she called him and I checked, I even put on the light on my camera phone. It was dried up. I almost leaped off my skin, I was sooooooooooo glad, I was like 'me ma don do am, the word works o jare " I can't remember if I told Joagbaje before leaving Bayelsa, but I know I tried but I told my dear friend Newton about it. Now, Newton gives demons headaches too. Now, I have a reason for that story. It's similar to mine. So I'd continue later... Battery low. |

According to the Message Translation, Paul said it is the first commandment that has a promise attached to it, namely, "so you will live well and have a long life . Paul was quoting Exodus 20:12 12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. This is/was a part of the commandment God gave Moses. Yes or No? If yes, why say the law was completely abolished? Paul taught about the law, and did day the law was good, he showed what part of it was discarded, but you just woke up someday and have a "better" claim. When he said love is the summary of all laws, it didn't imply all the laws were abolished, some are principles with eternal implications, and surely, if you walked in love, you'd definitely Honor your father and mother. Let me make it clear, I'm not here to argue this with you, this has been properly discussed long before you found some of these knowledge, and I particularly expounded on this in the link below. https://www.nairaland.com/1578507/without-law-theres-no-foundation#20638159 All those who want to learn from scriptures should visit that thread. I said there that Jesus did not abolish the moral and ethical laws that had been in effect from the time of Moses. He affirmed and expanded upon those principles, but He said obedience must be from the heart (attitudes and intentions) rather than just technical observance of the letter of the law. Jesus showed that the ethical and moral laws would endure to the end of time, that's why Paul taught on some of these, like in Ephesians 6:1-2. I could go on and on... For Jesus, Paul and all such taught these law, especially the moral and ethical parts. Let's look at Timothy Paul made his view of the Old Testament clear in 2 Timothy, a letter filled with instruction for a younger minister. He wrote that “from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures” (2 Timothy 3:15 , emphasis added throughout). What are the “Holy Scriptures” Paul refers to? At the time this was written, there was no “New Testament”-some of what has since then been called the New Testament hadn't even been written at that point. Paul is referring very clearly to the Old Testament; those were the Holy Scriptures Timothy had been taught since childhood by his Jewish mother (Acts 16:1-3 ). Though it may be surprising to some, Paul clearly states that these same Scriptures “are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus” ( 2 Timothy 3:15 ). Salvation was available under the Old Testament Scriptures. And how was it available? “Through faith which is in Christ Jesus.” Moses, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Elijah, Daniel, David and others who are promised eternal life elsewhere in the Scriptures received salvation the same way we do-through faith in Jesus Christ, through faith and belief in a promised Messiah who would redeem them from their sins. Another example? Sure! Acts 28 describes Paul's arrival in Rome and the conditions of his confinement there while awaiting trial. He could not leave, but he could receive visitors. “So when they had appointed him a day, many [of the Jewish leaders in Rome] came to him at his lodging, to whom he explained and solemnly testified of the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus from both the Law of Moses and the Prophets , from morning till evening” (Acts 28:23-24 ). My beloved brother, what did you think Paul was teaching there? Sin offering? Peace offering? Sabbath? He did not tell them that they no longer needed to heed the Hebrew Scriptures, but rather taught Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of God from these scriptures-strange actions if you believe that Paul tried to turn people away from the Old Testament. What about Jesus? Remember the famous sermon on the mount? As a matter of fact, in the middle of his Sermon on the Mount, he paused to stress the truth that the Old Testament laws have not passed away as you think it completely is! Matthew 5:17-18, "Think not that I came to abolish the law, or the prophets: I came not to abolish, but to fulfil. For verily I say to you, Until heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle in no wise shall pass away from the law, until all be fulfilled." Jesus stressed that, in no way, will any part of the Old Testament law pass away, not one jot (dotting of the “i”) or one tittle (crossing if the “t”), no part of God's written law in the Old Testament will pass away until two things (that's your assignment) Remember the context In Matthew 5, verses 17-18, Jesus said he was not changing the Old Testament law, and in verse 19 He stresses to keep God's Commandments, and in verse 20 He accuses the scribes and Pharisees of being self righteous. Now, verses 21 through 48 is the focal point I want to address, because many people believe Jesus was changing the Old Testament written laws in these passages! I'd have loved to school you more, but I didn't want the post to be longer than it is already, but if you read 21 to 48, Jesus kept saying "ye have heard" "it has been said" Then he'd go "but I say unto you" First of all, let's get one thing clear. Jesus was not quoting from the written law of the Old Testament in these verses! Even the choice of words used by Christ indicates that He was addressing a confusion, or a distortion, that was commonplace. Christ used this same “Ye have heard that it hath been said,” or “it hath been said .” figure of speech to straighten out misunderstandings or falsehoods being taught by the religious leaders of the time. In other words, Jesus was dealing with hearsay statements. Contrast this to Christ's use of the phrase "It is written" or "The Scripture saith" when He was appealing to the Scriptures for authority (for example, see Matthew 4 where on three occasions during His temptation by the devil, Christ answered each one of the devil's lies or misquotes from Scripture with the words: "it is written" ). The truth is bare for all to see, if you'd want to see fine.. If not, fine. Thanks for the thread, at this juncture I take my leave. Cheers |
