9jaRealist:Ghana can and will never be my benchmark for economic development what an insult!! I think you deliberately mentioned this to go out of the discussion because no where did l mention Ghana to compete with Nigeria or as a benchmark for Economic development. It is a known fact that Nigeria is great economically than Ghana. I cited Ghana in my comments only on ethnical comparison that despite their ethnic diversity, they are still striving as nation |
9jaRealist:You posted this earlier and it was plainly stated by you that homogeneous population aided Singapore and GCC developments alongside dictatorial and autocratic leadership and you further mentioned that Nigeria has 200+ ethic groups fighting with each other which is detrimental for our infrastructural development and you even cited demolishing a building and some other places on Lagos Island and elsewhere will be difficult due to our relative freedom which l disagree with you because Fashola demolished many houses to paved way for infrastructural development though it was not easy for him but a serious government will do what should be done to develop a state or nation. even the outgoing governor of Lagos State Ambode did the same and we all can see the results. l debunked your points by stating a serious government will provide basic amenities for its people no matter how huge the ethnic groups are, they will always strive to make it livable. if Singapore and GCC countries have many ethnic groups like ours they will still be developed countries though it may take a while because that is what a serious government should do. I mentioned Ghana not to combat us Economically but to tell you a serious government will develop their nation no matter how huge the ethnic groups. I am not saying Nigeria problem is only limited to the government and no one here is saying that, but believe me dude, if our governmenet are willing to serve us and provide us basic Amenities, so many thing will work in this country. And no where did l compare Ghana to Nigeria Economically get that right. Giving jobs to people that do not qualify for it is not entirely an ethnical problem favouratism is beyond ethnicity. |
9jaRealist:Dude, I am not talking or comparing the GDP of Ghana to Nigeria, my points were simple and self explanatory, you mentioned that the 200+ ethnic groups in Nigeria is one of the major reasons while we are still where we are as a Nation which l disagreed with you and cited Ghana and some other African nations doing well despite multiple ethnic groups. I believe no matter the ethnic group in Nigeria every citizen deserves basic amenities, security, electricity, healthcare, Education, water, good roads etc which our government have failed to provide. Please stop this! our government have failed us and stop giving excuses for them. |
laudate:Yes it is highly breathtaking |
9jaRealist:Sincerely l don't understand the point you are trying to make here are you telling me the giant failure of our government is attributed to this? There are many Ethnic groups in Ghana and all other African nation still they are moving forward base on the resources they have. |
9jaRealist:I don't totally agree with you on this, every ethnic group in Nigeria deserves and wants 24/7 electricity let our government start from there, every ethnic group wants good health care, Education, jobs creation and better infrastructure l am done in giving excuses for the mighty failure of our governments. I remember during the Era of Fashola as the governor of Lagos State, many houses were demolished for road constructions and better infrastructures, if our government are truly determined to transform the country they can do so without being an autocrat or a dictator they are just so useless to us. Imagine still talking about electricity since 1960. No one should give excuse for this failed government they don't deserve it. |
This is a good move, because l can't understand how a party with only 10 votes nationwide will still be allowed to be registered as a party in future elections. |
dreyton:As for the visa requirements is either you apply at their Embassy in VI I will attach the address for you or someone apply the visa for you online in Singapore the person must be a citizen or a PR holder, as for the kind of passes you need to work and live in Singapore, you can read more here on the website of Singapore Ministry of Manpower https://www.mom.gov.sg/passes-and-permits. There are few Nigerians in Singapore compare to Malaysia, the atrocities my fellow Compatriots did and still doing is making it hard for genuine Nigerians here and anywhere in the world to excel. I will advice you apply for a lot of jobs online you can try learn4good.com you click on jobs then Singapore as country of interest maybe who knows you may be fortunate to get your employment directly from Nigeria don't underestimate the power of internet. If you are professional that is even better. No one should think of bringing drug to Singapore except the person is willing to die they don't joke with drugs here it's a death penalty even they slaughtered their citizens for this offense let alone foreigners. Carrying that Green passport is a huge burden, l was interviewed by 4 CIA officers at Changi Airport (point of Entry) because l am Nigerian just maintain your calm and have genuine reason for coming here, tourism, visiting or work just be genuine you should be good to go. If anyone is thinking of doing Yahoo Yahoo in Singapore then the person must be stupid or foolish, Singapore is very tight in regards to that. Don't even think about it.

EdiAbali:Yes you were right my brother but as of January 2019 Singapore tops the list this is the proof
|
EdiAbali:No it's Singapore my brother Google is your friend
|
Predstan:Yes we are on the same page my brother, l mean comparing any of those Airports to MM1 is like comparing Bujumbura to Washington DC the difference is so clear. |
Luke Cage season 1 Episode 5 the part where Shades said to Cottonmouth that "if you want to kill Jesus this is the kind of gun you need" I can't stop laughing |
AngelicBeing:My brother it saddens me tremendously that with all the mountainous natural resources we have in this country, we are still at this stage. As recently as1990 Dubai was hugely a desert area but look at the mighty transformation Dubai and the whole of UAE experienced during this short period of time, that is what is called practical Transformation. I am presently in Singapore and since l have been here l have not experienced a light out not for one second let alone a minute, they don't interrupt electricity here at all if you are a Nigerian like me, you might not get used to it very quickly. Singapore is a city state, there are only three city states in the world the other two being Monaco and Vatican City, Singapore is extremely beautiful, modern and entirely urban in fact its a paradise on earth and City in a Garden. Singapore is among the top 5 richest countries in the world by GDP. Imagine the whole country looking like Maitama or Banana Island that is Singapore for you, Singapore is one of the most expensive cities in the World to me personally l will rate Hong-Kong over Singapore any day that place is way expensive. Someone will argue that it is because of the size of the country that's why it is easy for the Quick transformation, though Singapore is the number 20th on the list of the smallest counties in the world. The vision of their first Prime Minister LKY was so strong that if Singapore were bigger than this he will transform it even if he takes him 50 years to do, and if he can not continue due to death, other leaders will continue. did you know the reason while the Changi Airport in Singapore has been maintaining the number 1 spot for 7 years consecutively, it is because they don't stop to make the airport looks great every year, Singapore is one of the safest countries in the world, you can walk on the streets 3am here without any fear of being killed or harrased. |
Very informative |
No shame at all it will be surprising to know that Singapore that tops the list got her independence in 1965, and Singapore is among 1st World countries, there are 31 1st World countries in the world and non is an African country, how can Nigeria still be battling with the issue of Electricity since 1960 of indepence. How can we call ourselves giant of Africa while ordinary electricity is still a rocket science, our government are very useless to us, they dont give us electricity, water, health, good road networks, Education etc. God gave Nigeria everything except sense to manage it. |
MM1 ke, we are talking about Airports you are asking where is MM1? MM1 is like a car park when compared to the Airports listed above, is like comparing Magadishu or Bujumbura to Washington DC especially that of Singapore, oh my God that Airport is out of this world, imagine an Airport with a Cinema and flour garden you will be wowed by it, you should visit if you can. And their Airline is rated as number one in the world as well. Those guys want to be top at everything lol and they have the fastest internet in the world as well. |
This is beyond surprise, he really needs someone to talk to him maybe he should use another means to jet out of the country apparently this way is not working for him |
Changi Airport Singapore is out of this world comparing the Airport to MM1in Lagos, is like comparing Magadishu to Washington DC or Bujumbura to Sydney Can you imagine an Airport with a Cinema and a flower garden. |
If she is to stay with you for a longer period l will suggest you rent a place that is very serene, secure and neat, Singapore is one of the most safest, peaceful and serene countries in the world, believe me if she feels unsafe for just one day, she will quickly return to her country with a lower probability of ever visiting you again, don't forget to get her Niger wife visa since she is planning to stay with you for a longer time you can research more about Niger wife visa on Nairaland you can also speak to Immigration officers there in Lagos about Niger wife visa if you know any, they will surely put you through. She is welcome to Nigeria Laa Bon voyage in advance. |
That Changi Airport Singapore is out of this world it is extremely breathtaking |
Firstly let her go to Nigerian Embassy in Singapore to apply there she just need an invitation letter from you and ready to spend 300 dollars for the visa, Nigerian visa is quite Expensive though it is 2 years multiple Entry, make sure she ticks the box of multiple entry while filing her visa application form either online or offline. I have a friend who married an American and she stayed at Ayobo with him for two weeks she loved the experience especially the Keke napep and Okada, Singapore is extremely modern and entirely urban, l am presently in Singapore Jurong West to be precise you can contact me if you dont mind if you have more Questions, taken her to Ikoyi or VI is just like bringing her from Singapore to another OKRIKA version of Singapore, l understand your reluntance on Security, just go with her everywhere she is going its simple let her feel the Nigerian vibes. Singaporeans are highly respected anywhere in the world and don't forget your fiance is carrying the second best passport in the World, And please do you know where l can find Nigerian restaurant here in Singapore? I miss my swallow lol. I saw some posts here on Nairaland l called their numbers to confirm the addresses but non of the digits were working. |
This is very bad, increasingly denting our already dent image worldwide |
Singapore is a beautiful country to live in when you have a decent job, imagine the whole of Nigeria looking like Maitama that is Singapore for you, the country is entirely urban and unbelievably clean. You will be wow by the beauty of the country, It is expensive but her citizens can afford it. There are things that are cheap in Singapore as well or moderately priced, and the security of the country is top notch. |
Oga Seun please we need every Manchester city match on FB too just as Liverpool, it is not easy to be Champions of England. Please |
Here in Singapore we pay as low as 45 Singaporean dollars for an unbelievably fast unlimited internet for a full month. Singapore has the fastest internet in the world |
Rwanda is great as well |
It is very hard to believe this |
My brother l will advice anyone to travel to Singapore first before any other country in Asia. I am presently in Singapore this country is just too beautiful oh my God. If you purposely come to Singapore just to see their airport and go back beleive me it worth it, comparing Changi international Airport Singapore to MM1 or 2, is like comparing Washington DC to Mogadishu. No wonder the country is nicknamed Paradise on earth, security here is top notch you can walk at 3am here without any fear of attack or harassment there is camera everywhere you hardly see any uniform police on the road this country is extremely modern and everything works here. |
winj3:You can't imagine my brother you will not believe some of these immmigration officers now check names because they are starting to know some difference l heard some Igbo even changed their names to other tribe in Nigeria n to ease their international travel. I can't imagine my phones being checked by officers at the airport thank God l am a good ambassador of Nigeria. Singapore is a very beautiful country very modern everything works here but please l beg you in the name of God don't come here with any sort of drug it is death sentence. |
This is very bad, this set of people have made travelling with a Nigerian passport a difficult task l was subjected to close to an hour interview by four ICA agents at Changi international Airport in Singapore and my luggages were scan twice they even checked my phones and rechecked my documents before l was finally cleared all because l was holding a Nigerian passport. Please don't come here with drugs even Marijuana except you are willing to be hanged. |
Not surprisingly, Singapore was found to be the country with the fastest internet connections in the world, according to the 2018 World Broadband Speed League, while Yemen had the slowest. At 60.39 megabits per second, Singapore’s internet speed is five times higher than the global average of 9.1Mbps. The 3 Scandinavian countries — Sweden (46Mbps), Denmark (43.99Mbps), and Norway (40.12Mbps) — followed closely behind Singapore. And while the United States has the fastest broadband in North America, it comes in 20th place for internet speed globally, falling behind Asian territories like Japan (12th, 28.94Mbps), Taiwan (14th, 28.09Mbps), and Hong Kong (19th, 26.45Mbps). For the report, Cable tracked broadband speeds in 200 countries over several 12-month periods (June 2017 to May 2018) to get an average. The global average internet speed: 9.1Mbps Practically speaking, it would take 11 minutes and 18 seconds to download a HD movie of 5GB in size in Singapore, while it would take around one and a half days in Yemen.
