Ravenwolf: With thoughts patterns such as this infesting the minds of many here and yonder, is it exactly so hard to know why when when we ponder it this nation hasnt moved much progressively and may never do such??

Ethnicism remains the greatest block to Nigeria's growth, truth be told.

3Wilywily: OOOOOOO, Which kind world bi dis, wetin Yorubas do dis world, are they now rejected people?, Awolowo please come back and save them, lik joke lik joke, Jonathan don give Foreign Ministry to the Igbos too, please Oluwa come down come down.

Sweet mouths, your opinions will be different when a president fires an okoro and hires an Adebayo. Call it what you want but i'm saving this for the future. You sensationalize the appointment of an Adebayo into nigeria's useless intelligence agency and quietly appoint yourselves here and there. No wahala, just for posterity, we all agree say na turn by turn.

Politics / Governor Peter Obi And The Danger Of Ethnic Card by Gorrbachev: 7:01pm On Nov 20, 2013
CNPP PRESS STATEMENT - 20 November 2013

Conference of Nigerian Political Parties {CNPP} is alarmed over Governor Peter Obi’s penchant for ethnic card; which portends danger for our fledgling democracy.

Penultimate day, it was the issue of Yorubas deporting Igbos from Lagos, forgetting that he deported non-indigenes in 2009, yesterday it was an Hausa man, in this instance Malam Nasiru Elrufai, who came to stop his rigging plan and today the ethnic card allegation is that it was Osun State women who demonstrated at Awka against the sham Anambra State governorship election.

For the avoidance of doubt the women who demonstrated are aggrieved and courageous bonafide Anambra women whom Professor Attahiru Jega deliberately not only disenfranchised but stole their mandate. The video clips are still there, we therefore challenge Governor Obi to publicly point out Osun women in the video pictures. There is a limit to the endurance for a people whose mandate were stolen.

On the House Arrest of Malam Nasiru Elrufai, Governor Obi proclaimed, ‘As an APGA Chieftain, I won’t go to Katsina, ….if I ve my way I will bundle him out’. He forget that Elrufai’s freedom of movement is guaranteed by the 1999 Constitution Federal Republic of Nigeria, which he as governor swore to protect.

Governor Obi instead of the ethnic card, should do an introspection, asking himself, why the desperation in getting Ndi Anambra to seamlessly elect the candidate of my party, after 7 years of serving my people? Why is Senator Ngige an issue out of 23 candidates?

CNPP once more call for total cancellation of the election, and resignation of Professor Jega for complicity as events have shown the invincible hand of President Goodluck Jonathan in the sham election.

Otherwise how can his party the PDP abandon its candidate, Comrade Tony Nwoye and support APGA’s Pyrric victory in the face of gross irregularities and substantial evidences that tainted the election?

National Publicity Secretary

Islam for Muslims / Re: Must A Muslim Get Married? by Gorrbachev: 8:04pm On Nov 18, 2013
Capt. JH Miller:
Assalam..
I am a young muslim brother, growing up I never gave much taught to marriage as I knew I wouldn't marry till I was much older, as I grew older I started to reason not to get married until I meet a luvly muslimah. She is no doubt what I have dreamt of in a wife and more, I was able to convince myself we were meant for each other and we will spend our lives together and forever both in this dunya and akhira. One of my best moment was when we agreed to choose each other when we meet in الجنة , insha Alla.h..
Recently, it started to fall apart and we fought so often. I tried my best, put my ego and pride aside just so it will work but it just is not. I am a very simple person and believe so much In اللَّه سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى will, but in this case it has been so difficult for me to just let be what will be, I have just tried to fight and fight to make it work. Maybe because I believe if I should lose her I'll probably never look to get married and will never get married.
Now I have started to go back to my previous ideology, I know marriage is half of your deen and it completes it, but is it forbidden not to marry?

My plan is to adopt children إنْ شَآ ءَ اللّهُ

جَزَاكُمُ اللّهُ
NB__ its not that I don't believe .اللَّه سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى will replace her with someone better.

How else do you expect the ummah to take over the world in future? You have to marry to multiply and take over dunia. marry 4, oga at the top said so, the army needs soldiers. grin grin grin grin

Nashville: But why should this topic make front page? Haven't we had enough tribal war on Nairaland? Not sure what the moderators want with this on FP!

Its not intended for tribal war but a self serving chest beating show created to deceive a potential "maga" to find information about how "industrious" igbo people are on a popular Nigerian website. nairaland is being used to scam foreigners and this is a perfect example of such cases.

Jonathan might be the first President to be hauled before and disgraced in a court after office no matter how much money he has. They way he is being treated with contempt and disdain as the most powerful man in the country will be the same way he'll be treated when he leaves office and with no power. Why not clean the system and uphold the rule of law instead of hoarding cash. Its not about money, its about where he's from.

davidylan: My best movie theater experience began with my first visit to an AMC dine-in theater in New Jersey. The only problem? I needed to drive 2-hrs to and fro to savor the experience. Rather than continue to burn the extra gas, i happened on a far better idea... why not turn the empty basement (packed full of useless boxes anyway and starting to gather dust and bugs) into my own movie theater? The benefits - i get to watch what i want, when i want, with who i want... i get to sit in my own rocking recliner chair. It costs $0 in gas costs, i can pause, rewind, increase the volume, play on my computer or even cook as i watch. The only problem - home theater equipment (at least for the newbie - like i was) can cost you a fortune.

In the subsequent posts, i intend to chronicle my journey from complete newbie to a fairly informed home theater enthusiast. enjoy.

Get a good projector.
Nice surround speaker/sub-woofer.
Large recliner chair or sofa.
Clean the basement and here you are.
Get your PS4 or Xbox 1.
You can do all these under $5k. grin grin grin

Politics / Re: Can You Vote Fashola For Nigeria President In 2015?? by Gorrbachev: 11:28am On Nov 15, 2013
Gbawe: Fashola has not told anyone he is interested in being President so there is no need for this thread that only allows the same ethnocentric and biased characters to cast aspersion on the man's character and real worth. Anyone who wants to judge Nigerian leaders these day would get a better picture inspecting the opinion of non-Nigerians which is likely to be more balanced and less tainted with ethnic prejudice. While the usual characters go through their predictable and tedious objection to Fashola, based on nothing but prejudice against his ethnic origin, the fact is that Fashola is one of the few Governors numerous Nations and prominent world organisations would queue to employ after his tenure as Governor because of his globally acknowledged proven efficacy as a leader only certain hateful Nigerians deny.

Nigeria, the typification of prejudice that validates the saying that "a Prophet is not respected in his own Country", does not deserve a leader like Fashola. Fashola has his pick of international opportunities 99.9% of Nigerian leaders would never be considered for. To that end Fashola will be more than OK post 2015 even as the same set of myopic haters blind themselves to the obvious. The man's good name has gone beyond the hate of Nigeria.

Can't you see that what you have written down is corruption? I see extra budgetary spending and contract splitting. Can't you comprehend what I am writing?

The worst part of this oduah scandal is that the source of money used in this jamboree is directly tax payers money and not oil money. Sincere 9gerian, if you have boarded a plane this year, you should know that you paid a tax. That money from your pocket is what she used to buy the vehicles.

What's the different between oduah and a night time robber? she has directly stolen from every Nigerian that flies. It is ridiculous that we are discussing whether she should be fired or not rather than discussing how much time she should spend in jail. This shows how low Nigeria has fallen and why every person from Ted Cruz to Ann coulter is insulting us. You should be highly ashamed of yourself for not standing for justice. Shame on you.

Sincere 9gerian: The FACTS that have been established so far:

1. There was no evidence that the minister forced NCAA to buy armoured vehicles.

2. The armoured vehicles and other vehicles were bought and registered in the name of NCAA. None in the name of the ministry of aviation or Oduah

3. The armoured vehicles was dully budgeted for by the NASS.

4. Nothing to show that NCAA is cash strapped because it bought vehicles under a lease arrangement with First Bank.

5. Only about N52 million has been paid for all the vehicles bought by NCAA. The NASS approved about N200 million for vehicle purchase by NCAA in 2013

In the face of these FACTS, why are Tinubu vultures still making NOISE on this matter?

Your Hyenas brought it up.
