But that's what came with the phone and it's working pretty well
But you didn't peel off the transparent cellphone from the phone yourself na, seller did that and flashed the vendor rom you now use, phone should come with Chinese rom, because when Xiaomi release it, they didn't provide an official rom for it immediately.

So my update from 8.2.10 to 8.5.8 had issues, and I had to resume it in the download manager.

I tried installing from updater app only only to get an xits not allowed to upgrade to onofficial rom" error.

I wasted a full sub on this idîot just to get to miui 9 o.
Nawa oooo, one reason I prefer downloading manually.

your suggestion is nice though, but do you know that we all help each other to make a living? And without you some others may not feed, same as without me some people too may not live life the way they want. In all proffessions there is/are always bad eggs. Even though i don't know the monikers of some nairalanders that have patronized jumia through me that even paid before delivery they can testify to my own service. I cannot say about someone else, but for me i believe in giving quality service as great service experience to one can breed 5 and on like that. Also, bad service experience to 1 will definitely send more than 10 potential clients away.
True.

It's an Android upgrade. Every miui version is based on an Android version. Miui 9 that's currently being pushed should be based Nougat.

But Xiaomi is a confusionist because a certain miui version based on another OS will be displaying an entirely different OS version on the users phone.
No need for the stress, it's not an Android upgrade, for example, people here already upgraded to Android 7 but still on miui 8, and without the features of Android 7. The likes of Redmi note 2, note 3 mtk, and co will get miui 9 but not Android 7, it won't be surprising too if split screen and quick switch won't be supported for the miui 9 roms for these phones.

Isn't the miui 9 an Android upgrade? I guess the firmware is based on Nougat
Nope, it's not an Android upgrade, for Xiaomi, miui update is the major upgrades not Android updates. Don't be surprised to see some devices with Android 6, running miui 9 with some Android 7 and even 8 features.

Why did mi release nightly for so many users. From what i read. Nightly is another term for developer rom.
This is not developer rom, it's pushed out to random users.

Will miui 9 work on Redmi 3. It's still on lollipop tho huh
Yes, miui 9 will be available later in the year for Redmi 3/3s, even the Redmi 2 is not left out, no cause for alarm. Hope you are not expecting an Android upgrade for the device, it's a budget device, even the Redmi note 4 mtk might never get that.

What is your region? I did and nothing popped up. My region is India.
You don't need to do anything to get it, it's being pushed out randomly, just be patient, even if you transport the phone to China, you won't get it apart from the set time grin.

Is Note 4X with 16gb ROM and 3Gb RAM as good as the one with 32GB ROM/3Gb RAM?

Does the ROM size affect performance in any way?

I''ve got the RN4 global presently...just wanna know if ROM sizes affect performance

Grandmufti, gptech, Noobody, iliyande, protein0
. No difference at all, provided you don't choke up the available rom. Ensuring the available rom rom is from 1 gig and above leaves with a smooth device generally.

It's quite cheap now, my only problem is the shipment time
This is one area where patience is sweet, around 2 weeks is the time to get it shipped, if you want it within a week there are people here who can assist you, though it comes with a price.
