I read xiaomi has phased out the multi colored notification lights in their newer variants, I mean the multi coloured lights found on the Note 4 series and some other older variants. I love how I was able to know at a glance the kind of notifications I had just by the kind of lighting on the notification led. Can someone using the newer variants confirm this? Thanks!

Fake plenty for there na. Many sellers there even sell fake LG, Samsung, Xiaomi, etc TVs. Check the model number of any TV you see there and Google it just to be sure. As for those cheap TVs like Uka, Amani, etc, you get what you pay for ; you are strictly on your own if you go for them.

Please I need help my Redmi 4pro doesn’t come up anymore. I have tried charging it for hours now but it still doesn’t booth and there is usually a blink (red light) whenever I try to charge the phone.

If the battery died completely before this started, try and charge with another charger and see if it comes up. If it doesn't, remove the back cover, remove the battery connector, reconnect the battery connector, then try charging and see if it comes up. You can check YouTube on how to remove the back cover.

So my Redmi Note 4x is back and smooth.... I luckily got the volume up and power button to work and had to erase all data (truly sad) but... I rebooted and it's back. Using it to send this post.

Yes it's possible, mine came unlocked too. Just proceed to flashing the fastboot rom with mi flash tool, no need for test points for now.

I read somewhere on this thread that most xiaomi global rom phones shipped on AE come with unlocked bootloaders since they are most likely flashed with global roms. Please who can confirm if this is the case? Don't know if my bootloader is unlocked and I can't seem to find a straightforward process online.

Global rom phones are Chinese version phones whose roms have been replaced with global roms
This is only possible if the bootloader is unlocked.
On the other hand, Global version phones have locked bootloader with global rom pre installed.
Modified : if you still have the carton of your phone, we can tell if it's unlocked or not. If the carton has some Chinese characters, then it's likely unlocked because it means you phone is global rom

Is the bootloader unlocked? Device is soft bricked. Try power button + volume up when you on Fastboot mode to enter recovery and see if you can do a factory reset from there.
If that doesn't work and bootloader is unlocked, you'll need to download the Fastboot rom and flash with mi flash tool with pc. If bootloader is locked, you'll need to flash the Fastboot rom with test points.

Well, you'll have to do some digging, though don't expect battery life to improve, miui is one of the best roms to stick to if you are after battery life.
Meanwhile, if you must run a custom rom, you'll need to unlock bootloader first.

Erm, phone is not as stable as the snapdragon version plus it's dead in terms of software update is concerned. It's stuck at miui 9 whereas even the Redmi note 3 special edition got miui 10.
