I wonder why they have succeeded in maintaining the monopoly for years. We need competition in the satellite TV market. If not we can't keep blaming DSTV.

Having picked up my visa on friday I still feel like I am in dreamland. When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion,we were like them that dream dreams.
I bless God,my banner my helper,my fortress and the lifter up of my head. The God that uses the foolish things of this earth to confound the wise.
The journey was stressful. The road was narrow, two separate journeys from abuja to lagos, lots of expenses, anxiety, sleeplessness and PRAYERS. God did it. Thanks to my family who stood by me all through the journey. Love u loads.
This thread is impeccable. Learnt a lot, laughed at funny posts, met good people. I can't mention names but the german machines know themselves. Thank u guys
I pray for others awaiting their testimonies, you shall come forth rejoicing.
God bless

I agree with you on this. Lets support Eke with prayers. The bible says that the heart of the king is in the hands of the Lord. There so many things we don't have power over, but God is all powerful. Am in.

honourableseyi:
I know you are not the type to give up so easily. When issue has gotten to this level, I think the best thing is to hand over the heart of sponsor into the hands of the Lord. Let's start from there before you trouble him again. Can we use tomorrow as fasting and prayer? I'm ready to join my faith with you and whosoever is interested; even if it is just till 12pm. I believe in efficacy of prayers. Let me know what you think. corporate prayers bring corporate anointing. Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. James 5:16

BusinessRe: Until I Get Justice I Wont Relent (avoidarik) by graciousme(f): 4:06pm On Oct 14, 2014
Well well well, Arik!! I actually experienced an Arik hostess throw my jacket at me on board a flight from Gambia to Nigeria. I was shocked. So shocked I could not utter a word until she came around to carry out checks and asked me to put my handbag away. I gave the handbag to her then she eyed me. As if to say get up and put it in yourself. Then I asked that she saw me when I was carried into the aircraft. As a wheelchair passenger. She was right there as I struggled to board because there was no onboard wheelchair and yet she finds it hard to put my handbag in the overhead locker? So I asked her if she thinks she has the guts to even talk to me after throwing my jacket at me and she replied that I ignored her and that was why she did what she did. I got into an argument with her and she walked out on me. Am still trying to deal with the ordeal because it all seemed like a dream that an air hostess would behave in such manner.
My first unpleasant experience with them was actually on a flight from SA to nigeria. When the hostess the refused my mum seating besides me whilst there were two empty seats beside me and other passengers were comfly seated. She was rude and we'll just wanted to get home safely.

The fact that people do nothing about such maltreatment is the reason why they give us poor services. Its so embarrassing.

ABUkAkA:
Embassy stated 7908 as the minimum plus 50 Euro. But I fund it with 8300, which is ok.
@aBukaka have you received confirmation of your account funding?

@naijaobi is it possible to get confirmation of funding with less than 8090Euros?
TravelRe: German Embassy And Visa by graciousme(f): 6:18pm On Oct 07, 2014
naijaobi:
thats not true. The account opening form stated 8040 euros Clearly. Check the form again.
You only see the 7908 euros on the German embassy website.
Since the inception of this thread nobody has ever gotten visa with 7908.
That's why I contacted the embassy and asked for clarification. But all the same like I said earlier it's best to fund 8040 above.
TravelRe: German Embassy And Visa by graciousme(f): 5:35pm On Oct 07, 2014
naijaobi:
u are not safe o. The amount is 8040 euros. You actually transfer 8090, the deutsche bank will take 50, and that leaves you with 8040. If you have a copy of the blocked account form, have a look at it again. It was clearly stated.
I understand where Abubakar is coming from. The account opening letter actually stated 7908. Then add 50euros of bank charges. I think since the letter stated 7908...
B4 filling my form I actually mailed the embassy and they replied 7908.
But then wisdom is profitable to direct. Its best to put more than less so as to avoid unnecessary delay.
I stand corrected.

Christianity EtcRe: Is It Wrong For Christians To End A Marriage Due To Impotency Of A Partner by graciousme(f): 12:41pm On Oct 05, 2014
In my opinion, I think impotency should be distinguished from sterility. Impotency means a man can not perform sexually while sterility means he can perform but might find it difficult to father a child.

A woman with an impotent man can't or won't enjoy s*x. While a sterile man can give his wife some satisfaction.

So how would the wife of the impotent man enjoy s*x in her marriage talk more of having children?

God can heal the man, the doctors too can try. So let her take it to the Lord in prayers
BusinessGhana To Export Electricity To Nigeria And Neigbhouring Countries? by graciousme(op): 9:37am On Oct 02, 2014
Ghana says it is planning to export thousands of megawatts of electricity to Nigeria, Ivory Coast and other neighbouring countries that have power deficit.

The Ghanaian President, Mr. John Mahama, who made the disclosure at the Africa Global Business and Economic Forum in Dubai on Wednesday, said his government had made huge investments in power generation that would enable the country to export excess electricity to Nigeria and others.

“We have given priority to electricity generation in our country. We have prioritised energy in such a way that we want to become the hub for power production in West Africa. We want to generate electricity to the point that excess power can be exported to Nigeria, Ivory Coast and other countries that have power deficit,” he said.

To achieve this dream, Mahama said his country had secured export-import financing from China as well as special funds from Abu Dhabi to commence series of power generation projects, adding that a third hydropower dam project was already at an advanced stage.

The Ghanaian leader spoke in a panel discussion along with President Paul Kagame of Rwanda and President Mulatu Wirtu of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.

Mahama added, “Where Africa faces some of its challenges lies its biggest opportunities. We are leveraging on public-private sector partnership to build infrastructure. Be it roads, electricity, ports or communication systems; if we create the right environment, investors will come.

“Creating the right environment that will attract foreign direct investment is key.”

In achieving this, the Ghanaian leader joined Kagame and Wirtu to emphasise the need for African governments to strengthen anti-corruption agencies in their various countries.

“Issues of accountability and transparency are very important. There must be mechanism to fight corruption. We all have institutions but the major thing is resourcing them to effectively fight corruption and perform effectively,” he noted.

According to Kagame, African governments must create a system that is not sympathetic to corruption, saying this would help drive the required Foreign Direct Investment into the continent.

He said, “It is one thing to have the institutions; it is another thing to allow them to work. Governance and structure must be in place to make them to work,” he said.

“African governments must fix infrastructure, investment in development of education and skills, and also enhance connectivity among African countries.”

Is this purely business or political? Nigeria is the giant of africa. Is the slot vacant?

TravelRe: German Embassy And Visa by graciousme(f): 10:36am On Sep 30, 2014
Thanks guys. Time is not really my friend now. Coupled with the public holidays on the way. The embassy had sent mail requesting for the funds and resumption is in 3weeks.

My advice, put the Naira in a bank where u can do Form A or be prepared to buy the euros and transfer from your dom account. Limitations of Dom account: You can't move or deposit more than 10,000dollars per day. 8000euros is more than 10,000dollars so u might have to split the transfer.

It wasn't a pleasant experience but life goes on jare. I can't shout.

Cheers

DANNIEmore: @ 9jaobi, oh yes I know but just missed that part out of it. Many thanks for the chip-in anyway!
TravelRe: German Embassy And Visa by graciousme(f): 9:06pm On Sep 29, 2014
Thanks. The bank refused me Form A. They said the recipient name is my name rather than the school name. Tried explaining the blocked account stuff to no avail. I decided to move the money to another bank and alas I would be charged like 40k.
CBN regulations of 10,000dollars limit per day also limited the amount I could deposit or transfer.

In all,God is faithful.

Please i need information on how to fund the blocked account from a naira account. This is urgent pls.
TravelRe: German Embassy And Visa by graciousme(f): 9:31pm On Sep 28, 2014
Thanks,I appreciate. smiley

Eke40seven: 1.The time taken in opening of the block account depends on how fast you can start and also the method you use.
a. Download the form from Deutsche Bank's website
b. Fill it (but don't sign)
c. Go to the German embassy in Lagos or Abuja to sign (they will charge you N4k)
d. Send it to them through either courier or NIPOST (this is where speed comes in to play)
e. They will likely reply you within 5 days or less after they receive it.
f. There is a slip that will be given to you at the embassy, you can book your appointment immediately with it coupled with your admission letter and passport (I stand to be corrected on this point)

2. According to the German embassy in Nigeria (2014),
"...official German declaration of sponsorship
(„Verpflichtungserklärung“) for the purpose of
studies/ language course given before the
competent German authority (Please note:
Financing is usually only secured if declarant
resides in Germany).."
Except he goes to Germany to get one for you or he contact someone to get it, I don't know if someone that resides there can get one by his authorisation. That will be for both of you to find out.

3. No, only in Lagos.

Note that this exchange rates changes almost everyday. just Google the exchange rate any day you plan to get one.
For instance, today, it is N208 approximately to one Euro and it has been at that rate for a week give or take one naira

The thing tire me to type o as am not with it now but a scanned copy is in my phone . Na phone I dey use type now. However, I have watermarked the scanned copy that I may upload but I don't know how safe that will be still.
May be you will send me your email here let me send you the one I watermarked or be patient till tomorrow I will post it then when am settled.
