Irrespective of whether Ghanians support us or not, I simply want Ghana to win that game because of 2 rsns;
1) there is no way i wld support those arabians against our west african neighbours,
2) based on current form, Egypt is no where near Ghana, and i would want the strongest reps from africa to go through. Lets have strong teams representing Africa. |

Chibuebem: he speaks of true belief. Knowledge of God inclusive. Knowing God. No one can truly know God and understand his ways without Jesus. bro, the simple truth is dat people like uyi and co would just want to argue, i advice u dont indulge them. They have definitely heard the gospel several times and what you tell them wldnt change anything. The best we can do is to pray for their soul, cos its only God that can change them. no wonder apostle paul said "I have planted, Apollos has watered, but it's the lord that yields increase" Oya all atheists on nairaland, collect this prayer; I sincerely pray that my God's mercy locates you and changes your heart, cos even the heart of kings is in his hand. May he replace your stony hearts with hearts of flesh that would yield to his word. AMEN........................... |

Uyi Iredia: Thinking like this are distasteful and are part why Christianity is more likely untenable for me. Ummm, what about the many people over time who believed in God without recourse to a Holy Spirit. Truth be told, belief in God IS NOT the sole excluse of a line of thinking, deism inclusive. ermmm..... are you sure we are talking about the same God here? cos am talking about Jehovah, the God who operates in a divine trinity (God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit), the God in which Jesus christ is the only way to. So perhaps, you are talkn about another God, which excludes the Holy Spirit, this deity am not aware of, and as such in no position to argue with u about. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Why Do You Believe In God? by gradeA(m): 6:42pm On Sep 13, 2013 |
Chibuebem: Well loretta, I never found God. God found me. I never looked for truth. Truth caught up with me. Reality caught up with me. I've been in it ever since. I was just confused. I might have become an atheist meself. You see, i was caught up in the dead end of sin. I was raised to believe that there was a God. But I was just a religious and natural person. I never could meet the requirements of this God. I always ended up doing a bit of wrong. I was human you see. But i knew the bible God never took being human as an excuse. But the more i tried, the deeper i fell. Then I went to a meeting, and God met me you see. Yeah. I met God in that meeting. I felt his power. I still feel it. Even as i type this message. God met me. Reality enveloped me. And I got to know God. I still grow in knowledge of him every day. I trusted in his power, in his love, and I was saved from sin. I'm free now you see. Jesus' salvation is available to all who believe. I realized that I by meself could never fulfil the requirements of the law. And i trusted in his power and life. I'm saved. I know God. My life bears witness. I have seen this happen in many lives. In my case, its the real story of a young boy saved from religion and sin, from imperfection. Others have been saved from the deep throes of deception and occultism and atheism. Its the same. Jesus saves. I continued and still continue in my life journey with God. I know reality. Jesus is the way. He is the message. Trust in him and find real life. Eternal life. my bro may God bless you a million times for this gospel truth. you see, no one would ever believe fully in the existence of our Lord Jesus christ except with the help of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit makes Jesus christ so real cos His ministry is actually to bear witness of christ to our soul. Chibuebem my testimony is just identical and similar to yours. I have always had the consciousness that there was a God, simply because I was born into a strong christian family, but then that personal relationship was missing. I simply couldn't feel God's presence. Infact, i did worse things than those who outrightly didnt believe in any God. I remember this occassion back den in d university that i was smoking weed, but I kept telling my friends that God would arrest my soul and save me. I never knew how this would happen, cos i had tried everything possible to be closer to him, but the more i tried, the farther apart i drifted. The life of Holiness just seemed impossible. But just like your experience, it was in a particular meeting that God decided to hv mercy on me. He stretched forth His hands and saved me. He found me. Those sins that seemed so impossible for me to stop, just left me by the power of the Holy Spirit. My advice is rather than try to analyse the rationality of God's existence with our human wisdom, we should just pray that God reveals himself to us. Trust me He would. An encounter is all we just need to change our thinking pattern. |
