If you are afraid of downloading and installing the youtube downloader, then try using the youtube downloader plugin for mozilla from mozilla itself. Just download it and it will install as a plugin. Any time you are playing a youtube video on mozilla only, a download button will appear under the video frame and when you click on it, a drop down menu will appear that will let u choose the format and quality you want. I dont know this guy called 'thelastPope', but I believe he is one of the few here who has made a very intelligent and incisive posts on this thread. I am aware that NL is full of secondary school boys and jambites who come here everyday to comment thrash. I have seen 'first to comment' crap all over NL.

Just started this last night for a small software development company here in India. The guy is actually a friend who just finished a Master's Degree in software development, and he wants to start something big in a little way. He approached me and said he needs a small website where he can be contacted him, showcase his products, and allow people to buy any of his software and hire him to consult for them. He wants it simple, so am giving it to him in a simple way.

Good one. But I hope he didn't develop it so that google will buy it from him for 1billion USD. If he did, then he may be disappointed. Google isn't that cheap to be cajoled to acquire something. He should focus on adding values to the app's users and been satisfied that he created a solution. With time, big tech companies may see a need to acquire it or he may even be recognized by Lagos State Government.

@Yawa, I sent an email to Mr. Labaran Maku this morning asking him to give me a go ahead instruction to redesign the website from scratch using custom codes then convert to drupal later.

After redesigning and developing and hosting the website, I wil then go on twitter to challenge paddy. I think he should be told how stup!d he is.

I told Maku that am not ready to collect a dime from FGN. All I want to do is to prove to this naughty guy that what he knows that there 101 people that know it and how to lock him outside the website.

I mean, this is ridiculous. I cant afford to watch Nigeria been ridiculed like this. In fact, I have started working on the UI of the website. Will wait for Maku's reply.

I didn't say there is a big thing about div tag. And again, any person can write <div></div>, but not any person can really use it to lay out a website.

If you are comfortable with table instead of div, then fine. But pls we don't review table-based websites on webmasters section of NL. Pls. Because that will be insulting our design intelligence.

Look, i guess you are not a web developer yourself, maybe you gave the work to someone who just woke up from a sleep he started since early 90's. And he didn't know that web industry has progressed a lot. Pls, we now do website layout with div and some other new semantic tags.

Here is my advice, search here and get services of some webmasters that offer cheap web design services for small businesses and have this website redesigned. Thank you.

I have completed all the pages. I posted the homepage here before for a review. Now, all the pages are completed.

The former website is not up to 6 months. And now I want to change it. Part of my reason is because the former website is a kind of one person stuff. There are lots of I, Me and My. I want to move a bit to turning CtrlShift Studios into a small multimedia company. And so I decided to redesign the website.

But the major reason why am overhauling a website that is less than 6 months is because I have discovered that a web designer or developer is his own toughest client. I mean web developers usually don't get impressed with the work they do for themselves. We are hard on ourselves.

Do you know that I have started thinking of redesigning this current one when it becomes 2 or 3 months old? Isn't that madness? It's not that I have all the time in the world, but I think if I can steal one week from my time schedule, I may redesign the website again in 3 months time.

Are you asking about a language or a CMS? If it's a language, as sisqology right said, do it with any language you know how to use. PHP, Python, Ruby, etc can do it pretty well.

If you are asking about CMS, again, it depends on what you know. WP, Joomla, Drupal, etc can do it pretty well. You are the one that will decide based on the platform you work with.

I was thinking yesterday about the frustrations and pains the old versions [6, 7, 8] of Internet Explorer and indeed older versions of other browsers have caused web developers over the years. The leader of this frustration is the old versions of ie. I think old versions of ie have become a canker-worm that must be dealt with. I think ie is one of the oldest browsers which makes it to have greater percentage of people still using the old versions.

Over the years, web developers all over the world have passed through all kinds of coding pains trying to hack around old ie using javascript. This has made most web developers to hate ie with passion. Web related forums all over the internet are littered with tons of questions concerning ie problems in rendering web pages. Anytime a cool feature or trick is taught in css, the next thing one will hear is that it's not supported in ie. And this can make one's heart skip sometimes.

Out of annoyance, some web developers have decided never to care or support ie again. If the user visits a website with old ie, it's either he misses some cool stuff or he meets a webpage with scattered divs. Na him sabi. He should upgrade, so goes the argument. But since the percentage of users still using old ie is relatively high (although recent analytic revealed that there is a gradual decrease), I think it makes sense to still carry old ie users along.

What then is the solution? Whereas a lot have been done to really carry old ie along in this industry by cool guys at github by developing some js library to that effect. Like: http://modernizr.com. And there are websites created to campaign for users to upgrade their browsers. Like: http://browser-update.org.

But I have an idea that I believe may solve this problem if developed and implemented. I want a situation where a software application or plugin will be developed. And it will be synced with Google and Yahoo. Here is the plan. Since Google and Yahoo are visited everyday by almost every internet user, when a user with older version of ie visits Google or Yahoo, the plugin will be triggered and immediately it will automatically start installing the latest version of that particular browser. The user will not know because he will still be able to search on Google and check his email on the old version of the browser. But after installing, the browser will reload and still bring the user to the page he was, however in the latest version of the browser. A notification bar will appear at the top that will read: "You browser has been upgraded. Thank you." And then it disappears.

But here are three major problems:
1. Will Google agree to have such plugin synced with it's search engine application since they want internet users to be using chrome? Will they allow a plugin that will install new version of another browser to internet users?

2. If the plugin is developed to automatically replace old versions of ie with the latest version of chrome in order to get Google's attention, will Microsoft not take legal actions against Google?

3. This is where the bulk of the problem lies. If the plugin is developed and deployed to automatically upgrade a browser without the users permission, will a user not drag Google and whoever that is involved to court for violating his fundamental human right to choose. Actually, a user has the right to choose to keep using old browsers. Why not make the plugin to pop up a dialogue box asking the user to either upgrade or cancel? But this may not work since most users will hit cancel thinking that upgrading may cause a problem to his pc or change his normal flow of browsing.

So what do we do then? Should an opensource script be developed that web developers can add in their websites, which will not allow users with old versions of ie to have access to the website. There will be a message that will read: "Please upgrade your browser to access this website. Thank you." This message will have a link of the latest version of that particular browser.

What is your thought on this?

The three background images are a no no to me. The first picture of a reflected lady trying to k!ss herself will fit a fashion designer's or photographer's website, not a web developer. Why not try getting pictures that perfectly illustrate what you are saying. You can just subscribe for one month at depositPhotos or 123rf and get high quality pictures that are corporate, professional and engaging.

The three icons representing mobile apps, web design and free template are not sharp enough.

Not really so important, but I think your work process should be five:
1. Plan
2. Design
3. Develop
4. Test
5. Launch

I do not think 'Pricing' page is necessary. It's usually suitable for web hosting companies and companies that offer digital products and software.

The box-shadow in your input fields is somehow too much.
