@Idlaw2k3, there is nothing wrong in using free template, but if u ar using it, then u should not call urself a webmaster or web developer. U ar simply a web editor that knows basic html/css.

If ur client wants a website urgently? Then what stops u from developing all kinds of web templates and storing them for immergency use?

A web designer may only use a template for his personal blog, maybe wordpress, but for his business website and clients' websites, he hav to handcraft them.

What wil happen when u design an immergency website wit a template and another person somewhere designs his immergency website wit the same template?

Here is my advice, soak urself in html4/html5, have a grip on css2/css3, cut ur teeth in js/jquery, lay hold on php and mysql, and have a good idea of photoshop for the web, then u can build something awesome and u wil never hav to panic that u may stumble on the design in another website.

There are three ways to get any image from any website. But I hope the website in question is not flash based becos number 2 and 3 wil not apply to flash websites.

3 ways to get the image:
1. You can do a screenprint of the image by opening the website and scroll to where the image is, then hit the 'prt sc' on the top right side of ur keyboard, then go to photoshop or coreldraw and paste it. Then u can crop out the unwanted areas. Using this method may reduce the quality of the image.

2. If the website owner used javascript to disable right click, just go to ur browser setting and disable javascript, then refresh the website and now u can right click and select 'save image as.'

3. If u know html/css, u can go to the source code of the website and locate the image url. Copy the url and paste it in ur browser bar and hit enter, the image will show automatically in ur browser window.

Starting from Monday, I want to teach interested webmasters how to create ebooks in .epub and .mobi format. Anyone can create ebooks in .pdf format, but most literature are now in epub and kindle. If u learn how to create ebooks in these two formats, u wil be adding a great skill to ur cv.

REQUIREMENTS:
1. I wil have to get at least 10 persons indicating their interest by commenting here.

2. Since epub and kindle are created using xhtml for content and xml for description, u must know at least basics of html/css.

3. u will need to go to amazon.com and download kindle for viewing on desktop, and adobe.com and download adobe digital edition for viewing epub on desktop. Both are free.

4. U wil need to go anywhere on the web and download zip.exe file becos after creating ur epub book, u wil zip everything with the zip.exe, u wil also go to amazon.com and download kindlegen.exe for zipping kindle. Both zip.exe and kindlegen.exe are free.

I hope you know robots don't crawl images, so your website cannot be seen by search engines.
If you must use images, every image MUST have alt description. Your image alt is empty.
It's an html sin to leave your image alt empty.
Becos since robots cannot read images, but they can read text, they will crawl the text in your alt description.

Again, why did you save the image as .png?
The image is not transparent, and you are saving as .png.
Dont you know that .png is usually heavy when a big graphics is saved with the format?

Your image size is currently 805KB.
I resaved it with .jpg and got[b] 280KB[/b]
Now, 525KB can add to the slow loading of ur website.
Speed matters.

How can you design a banner in photoshop or fireworks and add it in html and call it a landing page?
You used javascript to disable right click probably to protect the image.
Well, I disabled javascript and still got the image.
Again, disabling right click with js will also hinder robots from crawling your site.
Disabling right click with js is not good for SEO.
Again, the background green color did not blend with the banner image.
Just go back to photoshop and use linear gradient to flush the left and right sides of the image with exactly the same background color of the website, so that when the image lands on the background color, it will perfectly blend in.

If u want to be crying like this all the time, keep using Nigerian web host companies. But if u want peace of mind, then go for international web hosting companies like: godaddy.com, siteground.com, domain.com, mediatemple.net. I cant imagine myself hosting a website with any nigerian web host company. Most of my sites are hosted by siteground. Their customer support is superb.

I advice u to get a lawyer to officially write to them. If they didnt reply positively, drag them to court.

I can only tell u that u ar not serious at all. U ar one of those out there abusing web design industry. U agreed to do a website for 15k, now u want them to pay u 150k. So u know a website can worth 150k? They said u should design a site like td jakes', what stops u from doing that? There is nothing wrong in modeling a website after another website, just dont use their content and images.

U couldnt design td jakes own becos u didnt find a free template that resambles it. U quickly find that one u used and edited and added texts and images.

Then they gave u another site to update, u saw the work and technicalities behind it and there is no free template matching it, so u now told them that it wil take 2wks and 180k. May be u want enough time and money to outsource the work.

My advice is, go look for another client and charge him 12k for designing his website.

@Leorichy, u seem to be serious in proving that this guy Pat is a scammer. Well, u might be correct, but pls can u give us a detailed account of what made u to conclude that he's a scammer? I know many internet business guys can exaggerate some truths in order to sell their books, i guess exaggeration is part of scamming, but hav u been scammed by this guy. I am nt holding brief for him and i dont know any of u, but what do u know about Pat that this forum needs to know? You said you don't use alt. What does that mean? Ar u on the board of w3c? It can only mean that you ar also an amateur. The law of html says that every image MUST hav an alternative text. It's not just for SEO, but for blind users who use reading machine to surf websites.

The points raised above concerning his website are critical. He should address them. Or do u think that every client is a web design-illiterate? For instance, do u know that Microsoft has great programmers and developers? But their new website was redesigned by a 3 man web design Company in Texas? Don't u think that those 3 men know their game for a whole Microsoft to queue as one of their clients?

Well I checked your source code and discovered you are either a learner or you are one of those that use free templates.
1. Your images are not optimized for search engine. It's terrible for any web developer to miss describing his images with alt.
2. There lots of white spaces in your html document.
3. Your image address should be like this: <img src="http://www.crystalgospelawards.com/img/banner.jpg"/> NOT JUST <img src="img/banner.jpg"/>
4. Your codes should be indented or you minify.
5. You declared html5, but you turned those semantic tags to divs. Like nav, header and footer. Instead of doing <div id=""nav>...</div> why not <nav>...</nav> or <header></header> or <footer></footer>
6. Why are you using inline css? Professionals don't use it.
7. There is no point doing this: <p>&nbsp;</p>
8. Check your title: <title>Crystal Gospel Awards&nbsp;&bull;&nbsp;Add your slogan here</title>. What is add your slogan here?

@Solid, maybe he tried learning how to code website but was nt making a headway, so resorted to drag and drop thing and now thinks web design is that cheap.

Maybe he should go and study drag and drop kind of surgery, so that none of his relations will ever pay surgeons huge amount of money for a surgery that lasted only an hour.

My premium and free wordpress themes website will be ready soon, so that he wil start downloading or buying themes there.

Not everyone that knows photoshop and illustrator that can design a corporate logo.

BUT u CANNOT design a meaningful logo without the knowledge of at least illustrator.

Learn the skills or u risk been overlooked. This is 2013!
