johnmartus:(Read and update your knowledge please) 👇👇👇 SENATOR IFEANYI UBAH / CAPITAL OIL / AMCON FACTS. SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT ON THE RESOLUTION OF THE DISPUTE BETWEEN CAPITAL OIL AND GAS, SENATOR PATRICK IFEANYI UBAH AND ASSETS MANAGEMENT CORPORATION OF NIGERIA (AMCON) We remain Solicitors to Capital Oil and Gas and Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, and in that capacity, we wish to state as follows: 1. The dispute that culminated in several court cases and the criminal charge filed against Capital Oil and Gas and Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah arose from commercial transactions with various banks in whose stead AMCON acted upon acquisition of the facilities. In 2013, the parties entered into a consent judgment which unfortunately became subject of various litigations by AMCON and Capital Oil and Gas at various times. Some of these cases were won by AMCON and some were won by Capital Oil and Gas. During the pendency of these cases and appeals, several efforts were made toward the resolution of the dispute resulting in an amicable settlement reached in January 2022 which was approved by the Central Bank of Nigeria and Federal Ministry of Finance during the administration of President Mohammed Buhari. At all material times, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah was a member of the Young Progressive Party (YPP). 2. In furtherance of the settlement, a consent judgment was subsequently entered into at the Federal High Court Abuja wherein parties agreed that all cases and appeals filed by Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah and Capital Oil and Gas against AMCON would be withdrawn and all Cases and Appeals by AMCON against Capital Oil & Gas and Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah be also withdrawn. 3. The Federal High Court Lagos hearing the charge had from when the Charge was filed granted several adjournments upon confirmation that settlement talks were ongoing. On the last sitting of the Court, due to a mix-up, the Court was not informed that the settlement had long been concluded and thereafter the Court vacation commenced which inhibited formal withdrawal of the Charge. The matter eventually came up again on the 18th of October, 2023 following the end of the Courts’ vacation and the Court was formally informed of the resolution of the dispute and the undertaking of parties to discontinue all cases in furtherance of the consent judgment entered at the Federal High Court Abuja, whereupon the Charge was dismissed. 4. It is pertinent to note that at all material times when the dispute was ongoing and until it was resolved, Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah was not a member of the All Progressives Congress but the Central Bank and Ministry of Finance in the last administration adopted a commercial disposition to the commercial transaction and resolved it. 5. AMCON is an apolitical financial institution and no political consideration came to bear in the amicable resolution. Rather AMCON, Central Bank, and the Federal Ministry of Finance pursuant to their mandate restructured the facility which involved amongst others, Capital Oil and Gas making some payments to AMCON. 6. It is pertinent to reiterate that Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah's movement to the All Progressives Congress has nothing to do with the resolution of the hitherto lingering dispute with AMCON and the dismissal of the criminal charge against Capital Oil & Gas and Senator Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah. 7. Please be assured of our utmost professional regards. Mrs. Ifeoma Esom Partner, TRLPLAW |

Tinubu Okays ‘Political Liberation and emancipation’ Of South-East — Ganduje *•Uzodimma charges South East to take political destiny into their hands* *▪︎ Sen.Ubah calls for a United front to lift Anambra out of its present stagnation* *National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, said President Bola Tinubu has approved the blueprint for the emancipation and take over of the South East geopolitical zone*. He made the revelation, while hosting a delegation of the APC Anambra State stakeholders at the party’s headquarters in Abuja yesterday. **The former governor of Kano State said the blueprint would ensure the integration of the zone into the mainstream politics in the country.* “I am so delighted and very happy. Today is like a Sallah day for me and Christmas Day for the Christians. It is like the day of swearing-in for a victorious politician. Today is just like that for me because I never thought I will see the calibre of politicians from, not only Anambra State, but also the South East zone in the name of APC. *“Let me announce to you that President Tinubu has approved the blueprint for the political liberation, emancipation and de-marginalisation of the South East.* “The blueprint will make your voice to be heard, to be louder and wider on the APC platform, so that you will be able to negotiate for the political leadership of the country. You could not achieve that because there was no unity among you. *“We need you to be united for the delivery of the party in Anambra State. The liberation has started in Imo and will continue in Anambra in 2025. We need you to be united, and we need a change, and revolution of South East. We thank you for this cooperation,” he stated*. Earlier, Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, who came along with *three of his counterparts from Kwara, Yobe and Nasarawa states, urged the South East APC stakeholders to take the destiny of the zone in their hands.* He expressed surprise that the South East should be achievers in other fields of human endeavours, only to be found wanting in politics. The chairman of the APC Progressives Governors’ Forum (PGF) also wondered why the South East, which ordinarily should be the citadel of Nigerian politics was being left behind of late. *“I am very delighted to acknowledge the moves and new spirit in Anambra State as it concerns our party. It has become very incremental of late. I want to urge our supporters and leaders in Anambra State to learn from the history of the events of the past, and be guided by two items.* “The first is the unity of purpose, be in position to tolerate each other because anybody bitten by snake is always afraid of the head of a lizard. We should be able to learn from our past. Anambra is a strategic and critical state in the country, and has produced important men and women that have created history for this country. *“I have never seen in any tradition, where the man who is always first should be counted last. We need to rise and take our destiny in our hands. I urge all of you brothers and sisters to forget the past, forgive yourselves, unite and represent our people for the interest of the country.* *“There is nothing God cannot do, and if that is the case, I urge you to go home and recover our people. I don’t want our zone to go extinct in the national politics. The South East, which ordinarily should be the citadel of Nigerian politics, is being left behind of late. We should be able to advise and set targets for ourselves, and drive our target to fruition.* *"I am encouraged by the number of men and women I saw here. There is nobody remaining. We need to show commitment, tolerance, reconciliation, love and to be our brothers’ and sisters’ keepers,” he said.* *In his speech, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Ubah CON, said he is in the party along with several likeminds because of his belief that the time has come for Anambra to develop by connecting to the centre. He assured the National Chairman and all present of his commitment towards the liberation of Anambra State in 2025.* In attendance were all the major stakeholders in the APC Anambra State, comprising the state chairman, Basil Ejidike, Andy Uba, Ifeanyi Ubah, Nkem Okeke, Uche Ekwunife, Margery Chuba Okadigbo, Uju Kennedy Ohanenye, Azuka Okwuosa, Joy Emordi, Rita Maduagwu, Dozie Ikedife jnr, Chukwuma Umeoji and Chidozie Nwankwo among many others.

TonyRazor:If anybody should be accused of speaking from both sides of the mouth, that person should be you. Few hours after accusing Senators Ifeanyi Ubah con and Iyom Uche Ekwunife con for jumping from their respective previous Political parties to APC, you were already celebrating the rumored decamping of Osita Chidoka to Apga. You claimed that Apga will be very happy to welcome Chidoka into its fold, anytime he makes up his mind to join. |
TonyRazor:Unfortunately, the ranting of an ant 🐜 won't stop the elephant 🐘 from drinking from the River. These were exactly what you were paid to say during the buildup to the 2019 & 2013 Senatorial elections in Anambra South Senatorial District, and yet on both occasions, you ranted in vain because he won convincingly. |

Dreal1247:Which youth are you even talking about here please? The likes of the MD/CEO of Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA)? |
Ozommadu:Who betrayed who is not the question here please. Your point before now, was that he have lost governorship elections many times and because of that, according to your thinking, he won't win. But with Buhari's experience, it's possible for someone who have lost many times to win some day. |
Ozommadu:If how many times one have contested and lost elections, are your yardstick of measurements, then someone like Buhari wouldn't have been our president for eight years. (Do you remember how times he contested and lost before 2015?) |
Ozommadu:It's obvious that you are not properly informed. He is currently a Senator of the federal republic representing the good people of Anambra South Senatorial District. And for your information, Anambra South Senatorial District, has SEVEN LGAS. Namely; Aguata Ekwusigo Ihiala Nnewi North Nnewi South Orumba North Orumba South |
Ifeanyi Ubah: Am In APC to Rescue Anambra From 20 Years Political Stagnation. By OGEMDI OZOEMENAM The Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District, Senator Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah has said he joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) to bring meaningful development to Anambra State that has eluded the state for the past 20 years. He regretted that the state has been politically stagnant for 20 years under the grip of the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), but now he is in APC to help connect Anambra to the centre to actualise meaningful but sustainable development to the state as the gateway to the Southeast. Senator Ubah stated this in Awka during an event organised by APC, Anambra State Chapter to welcome him, Senator Uche Lilian Ekwunife, their supporters and other new members into the party. He lambasted Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo for failure to conduct Local Government election after two years in power, against what he promised Ndi Anambra during the 2021 Governorship election. According to him, it is incapacity for a leader not to provide opportunities for his teeming youths, stressing that 1youth,2skills of Soludo administration is a mere jamboree. Also speaking, Senator Uche Ekwunife thanked the APC party faithful for accepting them into the fold and promised that she would do her best to ensure that the party gains traction in the state. She however called on party faithful to support the drive to move the party forward in the state with the aim to galvanise the party towards truly connecting to the centre. While welcoming the new members into APC, the State Chairman of the party, Chief Basil Ejidike expressed happiness to receive such personalities with great political pedigree into their fold and called on them to be diligent in propagating the internal harmony of the party in Anambra state. He called for unity, commitment and discipline in the party and frowned at indiscipline, anti-party sentiments and disloyalty to party leaders in order to properly reposition APC in the state. Chief Ejidike reiterated that the reward system in the party will be enhanced to sustain trust and therefore pleaded for federal government appointments, which he said before now, have been given to non-APC members in the state.

A MOMENT OF HONOUR AND COMMITMENT AS I STEP INTO THE EMBRACE OF THE ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS (APC) Ndị be anyị, On Saturday, December 2, 2023 in the company of the Director-General of South-East Governors Forum Senator Uche Ekwunife, CON, I was formally received into our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) by the leadership of the party in Anambra State. The epic event which took place at Finotel Hotel, Awka afforded me the opportunity to express my gratitude to the party leaders and members for accepting me into their fold. I am deeply honoured to be a member of the All Progressives Congress, a party that is committed to the development and progress of our great nation, Nigeria and I believe that joining the party is a step in the right direction towards achieving the aspirations of our people in Anambra South Senatorial District, Anambra State and the entire South-East region. I am particularly grateful to Senator Uche Ekwunife, CON, for her support throughout this process. Her leadership and dedication to the welfare of our people have been an inspiration to me, and I am privileged to have her by my side as we embark on this new political journey. As a member of the APC, I am committed to working tirelessly towards the advancement of our party's ideals and objectives. I believe that by joining forces with like-minded individuals, we can bring about positive change and development in our state and region. Moreover, I am confident that the party will provide a better platform for me to contribute my quota towards the growth and progress of Anambra South Senatorial District, Anambra State and Nigeria in general, and I am ready to work hand in hand with party leaders, members, and stakeholders to ensure that the aspirations of our people are met. I want to assure the good people of Anambra South Senatorial District, ndị Anambra and other compatriots that I will always be a voice for them, and that I will not relent in advocating for their needs and concerns at all levels of government.
