To the glory of God, I have been sworn in to represent you at the Red Chamber for another term of four years. Your steadfastness, support, and encouragement can never be overemphasized and I am using this medium to appreciate your sacrifices which contributed immensely to my successful outing in the 9th Assembly, dalụ nụ!

My distinguished constituents, I am also here to thank you again for trooping out en masse to celebrate with me at my inauguration reception. The event was indeed colourful and I am honoured with the massive love you showed me that day despite the far distance. Abuja indeed confirmed that Anambra South nwere mmadụ. Many thanks my people, I am grateful. May I also thank you for consolidating your supports for me through the ballot. With your massive votes and my second legislative inauguration, I have been empowered to give your interests further protection at the upper chamber of the National Assembly and I am ever ready to cement my partnerships with relevant authorities to give you an admirable representation in the 10th Assembly.

I also remain grateful to my wife Mrs Uche Ubah, my family and my campaign team headed by Chief Vin Onyeka, the award winning Director-General of Ifeanyi Ubah Foundation (IUF) and Senator Ifeanyi Ubah Campaign Organization (SIUCO) for their encouragements and continuous supports. Also, many thanks to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Chrome Group Sir Emeka Offor for his overwhelming supports to my legislative journey at the upper chamber. Sir E, I will always remain grateful for your commitment towards a better Anambra South, Alaigbo and Nigeria in general.

Ndị be anyị, as we celebrate, I will never forget that two of my Aides, Odum Ikechukwu and Goodnews Mathias as well as some security personnel attached to me were killed by criminals at Nkwọ Enugwu-Ukwu on September 11, 2022 as we were carrying out our political activities in preparation for the 2023 Anambra South Senatorial Election, may their souls continue to rest in peace, Amen.

My constituents, my major task in the 10th Assembly is to attract more developmental programmes to our Senatorial District and rest assured that my office shall continually promote your interests especially in areas like youth empowerment and I am happy to inform you that some of those empowerment programmes which I facilitated in the 9th Assembly are captured in the 2023 Appropriation Act of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and with such development, their execution is guaranteed. I will also put in more effort to ensure that our ongoing projects such as our security pilot scheme which has been successfully tested in Nnewi, the economic and political capital of our Senatorial District are adequately executed in all the seven local government areas of Anambra South Senatorial District. I am also aware that some roads within the Senatorial District need urgent intervention and I am currently engaging relevant agencies of the federal government to bring the ugly situation under control.

Let me also use this medium to reassure traders and operators of various businesses within our Senatorial District that I will continually work round the clock to protect and promote their interests. I am already in the process of conducting further research to ascertain their challenges in order to be able to draft Motions and Bills that will address such in the 10th Assembly. Also, I am glad that two of my Bills that are aimed at establishing the Federal Orthopaedic Hospital, Ukpor and the Federal Medical Center, Uli passed Public Hearing in the 9th Assembly and I will leave no stone unturned to ensure that they pass third reading in the 10th Assembly and signed into law by the President in order to foster provision of adequate health care for you.

Ụmụ nnem, my Senatorial activities in the 10th Assembly shall focus on partnering with relevant authorities to consolidate my efforts in the development of various sectors of the economy such as security, education, health and commerce. I will also take further actions to support the less privileged through community partnerships.

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has barred the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), State Security Service (SSS) and any other security or law enforcement agency from arresting or detaining the Member-Elect of Nnewi North State Constituency Sir Augustine Ikedoji pending the hearing and determination of the fundamental right suit filed by Sir Ikedoji against the security outfits.

VOTE OF THANKS BY SENATOR IFEANYI UBAH AS THE NINTH SENATE WINDS UP

My Distinguished Constituents,

Today is indeed a great day as the valedictory session of the Nigerian Senate took place at the hallowed chambers. I thank God for a successful 9th Senate and for his grace which saw me through the 2023 electioneering and also ensured that I was re-elected to consolidate your representation in the 10th Senate. Special thanks to you, ndị Anambra South for your love and supports. Despite the fact that I ran on the platform of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) which is still a young party in Nigerian political history, you consolidated your trust in me by voting massively for the party in the 2023 Anambra South Senatorial Election and consequently, retained me as your representative in the 10th Senate.

May I also thank my wife Mrs Uche Ubah and my family for their supports and for standing with me throughout my first missionary journey in the Red Chamber.

Since our inauguration in June 2019, I have strived hard to book my name for excellent legislation by sponsoring notable Motions and Bills such as the Motion that gave birth to the Bill that ushered in the Deep Offshore Act which brings to the federation, a whooping 2.5 billion naira (two billion, five hundred million naira) daily and by extension, over 800 (eight hundred) billion naira annually. This is a milestone that was never attained in the past twenty years and that made former President Muhammadu Buhari to give it presidential assent in London thereby making its Bill the first to be signed into law by a sitting President outside the shores of the country since independence. To God be the glory!

I will always remain grateful to the Nigerian Ninth Senate President Ahmed Lawan and the Chairman of Senate Committee on Petroleum (Upstream) Senator Bassey Akpan who co-sponsored the notable Bill with me for their cooperation and supports. Let me also use this medium to reassure you my noble constituents that I will leave no stone unturned to ensure that all the Bills I sponsored especially the ones awaiting presidential assent like the Petroleum Safety Bill which will drastically reduce Petrol tanker accidents are signed into law.

As we get set to be ushered into the 10th Senate, may I plead with the executive arm to adhere strictly to the Federal Character principle while exercising its powers in order to promote equity, fairness, and justice.

SENATOR IFEANYI UBAH MEETS CHINESE AMBASSADOR ON EASE OF BUSINESS AND VISAS FOR NDỊ ANAMBRA SOUTH

In furtherance of my efforts to give adequate supports to various businesses operating within our Senatorial District and promote the Igbo economy, I visited the Chinese Embassy in Abuja yesterday to have further discussions on how to promote business activities within Anambra South Senatorial District and Southeast Geopolitical Zone in general.

During the meeting which lasted for about two hours, I reminded the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria Cui Jianchun of the need to consolidate a strong partnership that will promote the interests of business operators in Anambra South and other parts of the southeast geopolitical zone. I also maintained that Anambra State especially Anambra South Senatorial District is the commercial nerve center of the southeastern region of Nigeria and that with strong business and economic partnerships with China, the Igbo economy will record significant growth.

We also deliberated on the challenges regularly faced by business operators especially those from Anambra South in the Chinese Visa application process and I urged the Ambassador to do the needful and end the unwarranted frustrations. I also urged the Ambassador to initiate a programme for my constituents through which existing and upcoming business operators will be exposed to various business fields and opportunities, and assured him that I will work closely with my state government, Air Peace Airline and other relevant stakeholders to make the event successful. I also called for the establishment of Anambra-Chinese Chamber of Commerce to enhance the business relationship between ndị Anambra South, ụmụ ọma Anambra State and China.

I further used the opportunity to inform the Chinese Ambassador that my Senatorial District through my intervention programmes in security and economy, has hugely patronised Chinese manufacturers and will also sponsor my constituents to the country in October to participate in the Autumn Edition of the Canton Fair and Skill Acquisition Programmes.

Responding to my appeals, the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria Cui Jianchun acknowledged that the Chinese visa application process for Nigerians is cumbersome and assured me that he will make efforts to encourage businesses in Nigeria by pushing for a review of his country’s visa policy.

Ambassador Cui Jianchun also appreciated my efforts and assured me that he will work towards organising a programme that will not only expose existing and upcoming business operators within my Senatorial District to various business fields and opportunities but will also encourage them to achieve their business goals in no distant time. He also assured me of his maximum support as I plan to sponsor my constituents to China for them to attend the Autumn Edition of the Canton Fair and Skill Acquisition Programmes in October, and maintained that the gains of partnerships between my Senatorial District and Chinese investors cannot be overemphasized.

Also with me during the visit was the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of New Age Mobile Concepts Limited Mr Ekene Kingsley Okpala.

Vin, your relationship with me goes beyond politics, I have enjoyed remarkable relationship with your family and I am glad that we have a lot to be proud of. Nwannem, your commitment, loyalty, and discipline have contributed immensely to the success of IUF and SIUCO. Your advices are top notch and I am proud to have somebody like you as my Senior Director.

Nwannem, I cannot forget the sacrifices you made to ensure that the activities of Ifeanyi Ubah Foundation and Senator Ifeanyi Ubah Campaign Organization remain fruitful. You sacrificed your comfort and safety, and even put your life on the line to secure the success of IUF and my political campaigns. Vin, you were with me in that car on that black Sunday, September 11, 2022 at Nkwọ Enugwu-Ukwu when those agents of darkness attacked us and sent two of my Aides Odum Ikechukwu and Goodnews Matthias as well as some security personnel attached to me to early graves (may their souls continue to rest in peace), and despite that, you were not discouraged or distracted from pursuing our noble cause.

My DG, words cannot describe your commitments and sacrifices to my political life and I am glad that after taking those risks and after those sleepless nights, our efforts were crowned with victory. You are indeed a genius and my immediate and political family shall always be proud of you. I also wish I am there with you in Canada to celebrate this day with you but rest assured that distance can never be a barrier to celebrate a guru like you. As a new age is added in your life today, may heaven bless you with more wisdom, grace and protection. These videos were shot on the night of Saturday May 27, 2023, as the gallant men and women of Nnewi Vigilante Service led by the Field Commander and GOC were on routine patrol during which several arrests were made.

If you are into any form of crime especially Kidnapping, Armed Robbery, Money Ritual or Okeite, better avoid Nnewi because the town will not be safe for your criminal acts.
