The re-elected Senator of Anambra South Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah on Wednesday, condoled with Chief Sir Frank Okafor (Onwa Ojoto) over the death of his mum Ezinne Mercy Ukamaka Okafor (Madam BMW). Speaking during the deceased funeral ceremony which took place at Community Secondary School Ojoto, Senator Ubah described her as a woman of honour and prayed for the repose of her soul. The Anambra South Senator who was accompanied by some stakeholders also appreciated God for granting mama a fulfilled life and prayed for more grace and divine guidance upon the family.

Responding, Chief Frank Okafor appreciated Senator Ubah for honouring their late mother. He also appreciated him for standing with the family at this critical time and prayed for more protection upon him and his entourage.

The deceased who passed on at the age of seventy-eight is also survived by her children, grandchildren and relatives. May Heaven rest her soul.

Highlights of the event include display of the functionality of the CCTV installed in parts of Nnewi and walkie-talkie gadgets procured by the Senator for security outfits as well as presentation of Twelve Sienna Vehicles and twenty motorcycles to Nnewi Vigilante by Senator Ubah.

The re-elected Senator of Anambra South Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah on Tuesday, reassured the people of Nnewi and Anambra South residents that he will not relent in providing adequate support to various security outfits. Senator Ubah made the remarks during a special edition of Easter Summit organized by the Nnewi Concerned Citizens (NCC). Speaking at the event which took place at Anaedo Hall Nnewi, Senator Ubah reiterated that no meaningful development can be achieved in an environment that lacks proper security and reaffirmed that he will continue to give both legislative and personal supports to security agencies to boost security of lives and properties in Nnewi and Anambra South in general. The Anambra South Senator also appreciated the NCC especially the conveners of the special edition for organizing the event with the theme “Nnewi, Towards a New Direction” and reassured them that he will always provide every needed support for the sustenance of the event in the future.

Speaking further on his efforts to foster security of lives and properties in Nnewi, the Senator maintained that through legitimate partnerships initiated by him, parts of the community are now equipped with solar powered facilities that are aimed at supporting security agencies in surveillance and security analysis. He also appreciated the Anambra State Governor Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo for identifying with the “Light up and secure Anambra South” Project and reassured his constituents that he will leave no stone unturned in putting in necessary measures to foster security and community development in all parts of the Senatorial District. The Senator further disclosed that plans are on top gear to train two hundred youths who will be made up of fifty youths from each of Nnewi four villages on security surveillance and analyses with the aid of powerful gadgets including walkie-talkies. He also announced that he has donated twelve Sienna Vehicles and twenty motorcycles to Nnewi Vigilante and reassured the people that he is always ready to give necessary support to secure their lives and properties.

The Anambra South Senator also disclosed that through his efforts, various parts of Nnewi are now not only networked but are also under the Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) coverage and reassured the people of the community that implementation of more projects that will boost security in the town is in the pipeline.

Commenting on his empowerment programmes for the community, Senator Ubah said that a skill acquisition center will soon be built in Nnewi. He also said that building of Nnewi Houses in Abuja, Lagos and Awka which are facilitated by his office will soon commence and that proceeds from the projects will be used to empower Nnewi youths. He also announced that interactive sessions will regularly be organized by his office to deliberate on further ways of empowering the youths.

The Anambra South Senator also called for proper delineation of the Nnewi Constituency as that will provide a level playing ground for all political actors, deepen the democratic process and foster economic development in the Constituency.

Also speaking, Prince Onwa Nwafor-Orizu said that the summit was organized to enable ndị Nnewi deliberate on issues that will promote the wellbeing of the community residents. Prince Orizu who was also one of the event conveners further appreciated Senator Ubah for his giant efforts towards discovering, empowering and developing young talents and reassured him and the people of Nnewi that the concerned citizens will always put in measures to promote their wellbeing.

In his speech, Ogbuefi Melie Onyejepu (JP) appreciated the event conveners for organizing such useful programme in Nnewi community, Ogbuefi Onyejepu who was the Special Adviser on Budget and Economic Planning to the administration of former Governor of Anambra State Chief Willie Obiano also described Nnewi as a land full of potentials and appreciated Senator Ubah for his uncommon efforts to develop the youths of the community. He also called on other prominent sons and daughters of the town to join hands with Senator Ubah and other stakeholders to move the community forward.

Delivering the vote of thanks, the Chairman of the occasion Chief Ben Okoye (Onwadiebube Nnewi) appreciated the Nnewi Concerned Citizens and the conveners of the special edition of the Easter Summit for investing towards the economic development of the noble town. Chief Okoye also appreciated Senator Ubah for making the protection and promotion of the interests of his constituents a priority and urged other prominent citizens of Anambra South Senatorial District to join hands with relevant authorities to foster the economic development of the District.

CONDOLENCE MESSAGE TO SENATE CHIEF WHIP ORJI UZOR KALU AS HE MOURN THE DEATH OF HIS WIFE

I wish to express my deepest condolence to my dear brother, colleague and friend Senator Orji Uzor Kalu as he mourn the death of his dear wife, Mrs Ifeoma Ada Kalu. Mrs Kalu until her death in the United States was a woman of honour and her contributions towards the betterment of women in the society cannot be overemphasized. At sixty-one, she has impacted a lot in the wellbeing of many and we are consoled by the divine mercies and grace upon her.

Distinguished colleague, may God continue to grant more guidance upon you and yours in this trying time and may his guarding angels guide and protect you. Also,be rest assured that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I heartily welcome you all into the month of April.Undoubtedly, the past few months have been eventful as the country went through the rigours of deepening its democratic credentials by going to the polls to elect the next set of leaders for the Presidential and National Assembly positions in February and the Governorship and State Assembly polls that took place in the following month of march.

Despite the pockets of challenges, it is still worthy of celebration that no major crisis broke out in the country during and after the conduct of these democratic processes.

As we usher in the new month of April and the second quarter of the year, it is my earnest prayer that we begin this month by recommitting ourselves to the values of love,fairness, equity, peaceful coexistence, religious tolerance and every other factor that strenghtens our unity in diversity as a Nation.

May you receive the grace to overcome whatever challenges that may rise against you this month.May this month be a month of accomplishment for you and your household, and may the Almighty grant your heart desires and help accomplish your dreams.

The beginning of a new month is an opportunity to start afresh ,let go of any negative energy from the past ,and focus on positive growth and development. It is also a time to appreciate the blessings of the previous months and open up our mindsets to the new opportunities that lie ahead

The Senator representing Anambra South and winner of the just concluded Senatorial Election in the District Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah on Sunday, reassured his constituents especially operators of various businesses that he will continue to support security agencies to foster security in various parts of the Senatorial District. Senator Ubah made the remarks while addressing the leaders and members of Panthers Sports Club of Nigeria at the Club’s premises in Nnewi. According to him, security of lives and properties is vital in nation building and it also provide conducive environment for various businesses. The Senator also maintained that traders and business operators contribute immensely to the development of various sectors of the economy and that he will continue to do the needful in order to give adequate support to business owners especially those operating within the Senatorial District.

Senator Ubah who was flanked by the Director-General of Ifeanyi Ubah Foundation Chief Vin Onyeka also appreciated the Club members for their continuous supports and reassured them that he will always work closely with legitimate groups and organisations to promote the wellbeing of the people of Anambra South Senatorial District. He later announced a personal donation of over seven million naira to support the Club’s projects.

Responding, the Club’s President Chief Calistus Oraegbu appreciated Senator Ubah for his immense contributions towards the betterment of the society. Chief Oraegbu who was flanked by the Club’s Secretary Mr Patrick Ojiuba also appreciated the Senator for donating ten units of Solar powered lights to the Club and reassured him of their continuous support. Chief Oraegbu further congratulated the Senator on his victory in the just concluded Senatorial Election and prayed for more grace upon him.

Senator Ubah made the remarks while addressing the people of Nnewi North Local Government Area at Ifeanyi Ubah International Stadium, Nnewi-Ozubulu. In his speech, the Senator also maintained that nation building can never be achieved if citizens are not adequately empowered to achieve their ambitions in life. He also reassured his constituents that he will leave no stone unturned in partnering with relevant authorities to empower and support them.

Speaking on the day’s agenda, Senator Ubah who was flanked by his wife Mrs Uche Ubah, the Director-General of Ifeanyi Ubah Foundation Chief Vin Onyeka and winner of the just concluded Nnewi North State Constituency Election Sir Augustine Ikedoji disclosed that the event which was sponsored from his private purse was organized by his party, the Young Progressives Party (YPP) to appreciate ndị Nnewi for their strong supports for him over the years. He further disclosed that the event brought the “Thank you Tour” of YPP in Nnewi North Local Government Area to an end, and appreciated the people of the community for voting massively for the party in the just concluded National Assembly and State Assembly Elections. The Anambra South Senator also informed the gathering that several empowerment programmes facilitated by his office are captured in the 2023 Appropriation Act of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and with such provisions, the implementation of the programmes in various parts of Anambra South is imminent. He also disclosed that between 16th March, 2023 and 17th March, 2023, hundreds of youths and women from Nnewi North and Orumba South local government areas of Anambra State benefitted from a skill acquisition programme facilitated by his office and executed in partnership with the National Productivity Centre, Abuja. Senator Ubah further disclosed that during the two-day programme, participants were trained in fields like Bons Making, Chin Chin Making, Cake Making, Pea Nut Making, Perfume Making, Antiseptic Production, Shampoo Production, Body Cream Production, Disinfectant Production, Liquid Soap Production, Emulsion Paint Production, Texcoat Paint Production, Oil Paint Production and Screeding Paint Production. He also reassured his constituents that he will not relent in discovering, empowering and developing young talents, and urged them to remain focused and law abiding.

According to him, community development is vital in nation building and his office will always put in measures to ensure execution of more developmental projects in various parts of the Senatorial District.

Senator Ubah who was flanked by the Director-General of Ifeanyi Ubah Foundation Chief Vin Onyeka and winner of the 2023 Nnewi North State Constituency Election Sir Augustine Ikedoji also appreciated the people of Aguata for voting massively for his party, the Young Progressives Party (YPP) in the just concluded National Assembly Election and reassured them that he will always carry them along in his legislative activities. The Anambra South Senator also disclosed that he will always put in necessary measures to ensure that all Bills he sponsored in the outgoing 9th Assembly are passed in the 10th Assembly and also signed into law by the incoming President.
