UPDATE ON ROUTINE VISIT TO OUR INDEFATIGABLE CLIENT – ONYENDU MAZI NNAMDI KANU, AT THE HEADQUARTERS OF THE STATE SECURITY SERVICE (SSS), ABUJA, WHERE HE IS STILL BEING ILLEGALLY AND UNCONSTITUTIONALLY DETAINED IN SOLITARY CONFINEMENT:

Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was today visited by the duo of His Majesty, Eze Chukwuemeka Eri, Eze Akajiovo Igbo Nile, Ezeora XXXIV of Aguleri, and Distinguished Senator Ifeanyi Uba, at the facility of the State Security Service (SSS) Headquarters Abuja where Onyendu is still currently being held in solitary confinement.

The visit was unprecedented, as fruitful and productive discussions were exclusively held with Onyendu. During this visit, Onyendu reiterated his firm and unequivocal condemnation, and total cancellation of the senseless sit-at-home in the South-East, hitherto enforced in the entire South-East states by the enemies of our people.

Other crucial messages conveyed to them by Onyendu will be made public as given by Onyendu in due course.

Be assured UmuChineke that we are speedily approaching the end of the tunnel. ChukwuOkike Abiama is always on the throne, and this trying period will soon become history.

Thank you all, Ezigbo UmuChineke, and remain blessed.

IPOB’s Lead Counsel

The Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District, at the 10th Senate, Senator (Dr) Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah visited the detained leader of IPOB, Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu at the headquarters of DSS Abuja.

If you are not with Sen Ifeanyi Ubah on how to better the security situation of the Southern Nigeria, you are making your issue worse, there is no neutral ground.

He made it clear from the outset of this journey, that the Recovery of Igbo Economy, remains the core tenet of his Senatorial ambition, because, according to him, no Economy will thrive and grow in an unsecured environment. Today, he is at the forefront of the South East leaders negotiating and dialoguing with all the revelant authorities, for the unconditional release of Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, knowing full well that the release of MNK will in conjunction with the Security initiative of Sen Ifeanyi Ubah, go a long way in restoring full business activities in the entire Southern Nigeria.

He was accompanied by His Majesty, Eze Chukwuemeka Eri, Eze Akajiovo Igbo Nile, Ezeora XXXIV of Aguleri, Sir Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Esq. (KSC) IPOB’s Lead Counsel and Director-General of the Ifeanyi Ubah Foundation, Chief Vin Onyeka

The visit was a huge success and I'm hopeful that our efforts to restore peace and security in Igboland will be fruitful. May God continue to guide and protect us.

Senator (Dr) Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, the man with Talk-Na-Do Capacity.

Ndị Anambra South,

On Monday July 24, 2023, I joined the President of the Senate Godswill Akpabio and other Principal Officers of the Red Chamber to receive in courtesy, the leadership of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria led by the Etsu Nupe, His Royal Highness Yahaya Abubakar. The Royal Fathers were in the Senate to formally congratulate Senator Akpabio on his emergence as the President of the Senate and to also place a request before the hallowed chamber on the need to recognise the roles of Traditional Rulers in nation-building through legislations.

During the meeting which was also attended by the Chairman Enugu State Council of Traditional Rulers His Royal Majesty Igwe Amb Dr Lawrence Agubuzu, CFR, Emir of Lafia His Royal Highness Hon Justice Sidi Muhammad I. Okeke, CFR, Okun Ibom Ibibio His Eminence Nteyin (Dr) Solomon Daniel Etuk, JP and other Royal Fathers, I reiterated the need for all stakeholders especially the Arms and Tiers of Government to provide adequate support to traditional institutions.

It is a fact that traditional institutions play vital roles in nation-building especially in the promotion of communal peace and I have never relented in providing personal and official supports to the noble institution in our Senatorial District. It is my belief that government and privileged citizens should not only provide moral support to our Royal Fathers but should also support them by providing amenities that will make it easier for them to carry out their legitimate activities.

Ndị be anyị, always bear in mind that I will not relent in partnering with relevant authorities to consolidate the existing peace in our various communities through provision of necessary facilities to our traditional rulers. My office is also finalising a research that is aimed at ascertaining the major challenges facing traditional institutions in our Senatorial District and recommend lasting solutions. Outcome of the research will also help me to initiate a Bill that will give a legal backing to those efforts.

Our Royal Fathers are custodians of our culture and rest assured that by the special grace of God, I will continue to protect their interests and make you proud. Thank you and may God continue to bless our Senatorial District.

SEN IFEANYI UBAH, A MAN WHO IS ALWAYS LIVING BEYOND EXPECTATIONS. Pt 1

In 2017 when the then Executive Governor of Anambra State, Chief Dr. Willie Obiano called on him to join his re-election campaign team with all sorts of promises, Ifeanyi Ubah swung into action and helped the Governor win his second term bid with record breaking results of 21/21, the first time someone will win all the Local Govt Areas of the State in a Governorship Election.

When the 2019 Senatorial Election came, Apga and its leadership unjustifiedly disqualified him from taking part in the party's primaries.

And even when Ifeanyi Ubah finally joined the Young Progressives Party (YPP), an unknown new political party to run for the Senatorial seat for Anambra South, the opposition parties and other people that feel they know politics more than others, started saying all sorts of things against Ifeanyi Ubah's candidacy.
After he was elected as the Senator to represent the good people of Anambra South, most of the doubting Thomas refused to give up.
They kept shouting that Anambra South have made the biggest mistake by giving sympathy votes to an amateur... Hmm
They confronted me severally but I kept telling them to watch out and see what happens.
Those that said he doesn't have legislative qualities and that he will become a failure at the upper chamber are now singing his praises. (CAPACITY OVER DO)

Few weeks after the inauguration of the 9th Senate, he Co-sponsored a Bill for an act to amend the deep offshore and inland basin production sharing contract ACT CAP D3 LFN 2004 and for other matters connected thereto, to make provisions for periodic review of the royalty payable in respect of deep offshore and inland basin production sharing contracts as well as offences and penalty for no-compliance, and it was speedily passed by the 9th Senate and was signed into law by the then President, Mohammed Buhari on his sick bed in far away London. I was expecting the federal government under the former President to appreciate and reward him for that, knowing fully well that the country is making extra billions of dollars due to that Bill (CAPACITY MARA OVER)
This and many other performance of his, made the then Senate President, Sen Ahmed Lawan and the entire 9th Senate to give him a special name, (The Prince of the Senate)

And today, he is re-elected overwhelmingly by the Ndi Anambra South into the 10th Senate to consolidate his quality and vibrant representation of the Constituency. He is not relenting, few days ago, the 10th Senate adapted his first motion on the urgent need for the Senate to investigate the alarming cases of payment delays and allegations of corruption associated with the capturing and payment of newly recruited staff of federal universities under the Integrated Payroll and Personal Information System (IPPIS).

UNDERATE SEN, (DR) IFEANYI UBAH'S CAPACIFIED CAPACITY AND CAPABILITY AT YOUR OWN PERIL.

_"The fact remains that while we keep striving to bring about a political solution to the incarceration of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, we must not allow these criminals to continue to destroy our Igbo land from the comfort of their adopted countries abroad with their local collaborators sending them blood monies made from kidnappings, community protection monies and the rest..."_ Senator Dr Ifeanyi Ubah (17th July 2023).

▪︎ It is highly laughable that, of all the things that these criminal elements with adopted foreign nationalities could come up with, they chose the preposterous allegation that my private plane was used to convey Mazi Nnamdi Kanu back to Nigeria.

▪︎ It is laughable because it takes a few questions from any average mind to dismantle the falsehood.

▪︎ This was the main reason I ignored them and their baseless banter.

▪︎ Unfortunately for them, there is a huge track record of my support for things that have to do with Igbo emancipation, her progress, and development, which spans several years.
This punctures holes in their falsehood.

▪︎ Ask them for the plate number of the private plane used to carry out the renditioning, and you will find them stuttering.

▪︎ Ask them why I have remained in the opposition throughout President Buhari's regime to date. They will remain tongue-tied.

▪︎ The only set of youths that I have facilitated their return to Nigeria were all our sons that were stranded in foreign lands (and in some cases, prisons abroad). Even some days ago, I brought back one from Indonesia that sent me an SOS call from there.

▪︎ How can a sane mind accuse me of helping to illegally return Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to Nigeria, when I personally bankrolled the 2017 visit of Igbo stakeholders to him in prison as part of activities to seek avenues for his freedom in 2017 under the platform of Nzuko Umunna.
I even directed my then SA on Media to accompany them on the visit and report back to me as I was unavoidably absent.

▪︎ The delegation then comprised illustrious Igbo sons like Governor Chukwuma Soludo, Pat Utomi, Prof. Chidi Odinkalu, Chief Law Mefor, Rev. Fr. Jude C., Dr Udenta A. Udenta, Ebere Onwudiwe, Chief Emeka Ugwu-Oju, Dr Ferdinand Agu,
Chief Tony Nnadi, Dr Sam Amadi, and other delegates.

▪︎ My newspaper, The Authority Newspaper, was at the forefront of making publications demanding his release from custody at some point.
(Attached is a picture of MNK in court, reading Authority newspaper).

▪︎ The fact remains that while we keep striving to bring about a political solution to the incarceration of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, we must not allow these criminals to continue to destroy our Igbo land from the comfort of their adopted countries abroad with their local collaborators sending them blood monies made from kidnappings, community protection monies and the rest…

PoliticsSenate To Investigate Ippis Over Allegations Of Bribery And Corruption by grassrootsig(op): 6:14pm On Jul 13, 2023
NIGERIAN SENATE ADOPTS MY MOTION ON THE URGENT NEED FOR THE SENATE TO INVESTIGATE THE ALARMING CASES OF PAYMENT DELAYS AND ALLEGATIONS OF CORRUPTION ASSOCIATED WITH THE CAPTURING AND PAYMENT OF NEWLY RECRUITED STAFF OF FEDERAL UNIVERSITIES UNDER IPPIS

My Distinguished Constituents,

In response to several appeals by some of our brothers and sisters working in Federal Universities for me to intervene and save them from untold hardship caused by non payment of their salaries for years due to the controversy surrounding the Integrated Payroll and Personal Information System (IPPIS) which was introduced by the Federal Government in October 2006 to take care of salary payment of Federal Civil Servants, I moved a Motion on the floor of the Senate yesterday on the urgent need for the Senate to investigate the alarming cases of payment delays and allegations of corruption associated with the capturing and payment of newly recruited staff of Federal Universities under the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System.

During the Motion presentation, I informed the Senate that IPPIS was introduced by the Federal Government in October 2006 as a reform measure aimed at improving efficiency and effectiveness in the management of the data and earnings of federal civil servants in such a manner as to guarantee confidence in staff emolument costs and budgeting. I also disclosed that the primary motivation behind the introduction of IPPIS is to take advantage of existing Information Communication Technology (ICT) on human resource management in other parts of the world to ensure that ghost workers are eliminated while bona fide Federal Government employees are paid accurately and timely. I further maintained that since its introduction in 2006, over two million federal government employees across six hundred and ninety-six Ministries, Departments and Agencies including some staff of Federal Universities and other tertiary institutions have been reportedly captured on IPPIS.

I further informed the Senate that it is unfortunate that instead of restoring the confidence of workers in the system, IPPIS has caused many families untold hardship following the inability of relevant authorities to pay some of their workers especially those recruited between the year 2020 and present year due to the inability of the authorities to capture their data on IPPIS.

You may recall that the use of IPPIS in human resource management in federal universities was a thorny issue between the Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) during the recently suspended strike embarked upon by the union and while the Federal Government insisted that IPPIS remains the best system to be used in salary payment, ASUU took a different position recommending the University Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAS) as an alternative that is most suitable for the University system. I further informed the Red Chamber that since the Federal Government and ASUU were unable to reach agreement regarding which of the two payment systems that should be adopted for the management of university staff payments and considering recent allegations of bribery, corruption, delayed capturing and payment of some university staff recruited as far back as in 2020 due to IPPIS, there is urgent need for the Senate to investigate these irregularities because of untold hardship they have caused to affected university staff and their families.

I further urged the Senate to note that some of the affected staff cutting across many federal universities have been alleged to have bribed IPPIS officials for the purpose of getting captured on the system and that the allegations of bribery, corruption, delayed capturing and payment of salaries of newly recruited staff of federal universities has casted serious doubt on the credibility and suitability of IPPIS as a system for managing the payments of staff of federal universities. I further urged the Senate to set up a Committee to investigate the matter and invite relevant authorities to disclose the status quo of the conflict of interest between the Federal Government and ASUU, and recommend the way forward.

Following my Motion, the Senate resolved to refer the matter to the Senate Committee on Tertiary Education when constituted in order to investigate the allegations of bribery and corruption of IPPIS officials at various Universities across the Federation, delayed capturing and non payment of staff of Federal Universities who were recruited as far back as 2020 and to make a report on the status of the disagreement between the Federal Government and ASUU on the use of either IPPIS or UTAS as the preferred payment system for Nigerian university staff and recommend the way forward.

Ndị Nkem, rest assured that I will continue to protect your interests at the upper chamber and I will not relent in making you proud. Thank you.

Mr. President, the arguments for the 6th State to be created in the Southeast Geopolitical Zone are not only compelling but are grounded in history:

If Nigeria is founded on six geopolitical zones and each of five geopolitical zones has six states, it is then equitable that every geopolitical zone must have six states. Thus, Nigeria cannot on grounds of good logic be said to have six geopolitical zones until Mr President accents to the proposal to create the sixth State in the Southeast in the spirit of equity and fairness.

2. The South East is a very historical region in Nigeria and the memories of the good days in Nigeria is rooted to Ojukwu family ; Lord Luis Philip Odumegwu Ojukwu hosted the Queen of England and His son embraced the military and was of great service both to his region and Nigerians in general; thus, naming such State Ikemba State with it head quarters in Nnewi will tranquilize all agitations in the Southeast.

3. The Ikemba State will serve as another economic hub in Nigeria and a pilot state towards a New Nigeria ; thus, the need for the capital to be in Nnewi North LGA is beyond historical reason.

4. Mr. President, reminding you that the Southeast Geopolitical Zone is suppose to have a total of eighteen (18) Senators not fifteen (15) as the case is at present is analogous to telling one the need to eat balance diet! It cannot be overemphasized. The only way to fill this vacuum is to prioritize the creation of the remaining State for the Southeast zone within one year.

6. The sixth State is already a manufacturing and trading hub in the Southeast will provide Nigeria with alternative revenue to oil and maybe the China in Nigeria if properly created.

7. Mr. President I need not remind you that prioritzing this proposal will make you the greatest President in the history of Nigeria and posterity will not forget you.

Whilst we continue to remember your administration in our prayers, kindly treat this proposal as a need, not a want.

Regards

Hon. Augustine Onyekachukwu Ike KSJI
