Travel / Re: What Are Top Skills I Need To Learn Before Leaving For USA? by Great504: 9:37pm On Aug 17, 2020
Acquire data analyst skill . It is so much in vogue and applicable. I learnt those whites are too lazy to settle down to handle data diligently. You will be sought after seriously. Quote author=CuteMercury post=92926996]Good evening ladies and gentlemen, so by next year or next two years, it is now 100% certain that i will leave for the United States of America.

Though i am educated but what i have come to understand is that in our world today, most especially in the United States of America, learning a skill is very Very important and you can can never go broke or jobless if you have certain skills in the United States of America.

So i want to use the rest of this year to acquire a skill that will be of great help to me when i get to America.

So i have decided to learn interior home and office designing and decorating.

I want to ask if acquiring a skill of interior design is the best for me or what are the top skills you think i can acquire or someone can acquire before travelling to the United States of America.[/quote]

leaked video indeed.
Travel / Re: Six Dangers You Could Be Facing Daily, Living In Lagos by Great504: 11:27pm On Jun 18, 2018
the attached video was deep.
QuitNotice:
The rapid migration from other parts of the nation to Lagos, the commercial capital of West Africa has called for concern in some quarters. This, is mostly due to the ever-swelling population in the state.
This continuous drastic influx of persons, alongside other factors has, most times, placed some aspects of life in this state on a knife edge. Below are a few of such cases, as a matter of opinion though.

(1). Soakaways

With such a massive population (over 18 million)
concentrated in such a small landmass, a majority of the land owners tend to put space ahead of safety in their plans. This includes tiny rooms, kitchens, bathroom /toilets, and economising with the space for citing the soakaway. Most build their soakaways in parts of the compound where people walk regularly on them. This calls for concern as such could be a death trap. You just need to be careful when walking around the compound, as you could be jumping on a soakaway slab.

(2). Armed robbery

Inasmuch as this is no longer a trend, given the efforts of then governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola in lighting up the city, and the continuity seen with Akinwumi Ambode, in that regard, as well as positive security measures being introduced, armed robbery, very brutal ones at that, remains a major challenge in the state. This reminds one of the festac bank robbery few years ago, where the most painful, as rumoured was a slain woman. It was said that she was lying safely on the floor somewhere in the house in the course of the robbery, but got up to tend to her crying baby, obviously disturbed by the incessant shootings. She was said to have been hit by a stray bullet. The baby ended up in perfect condition. Robberies generally, are usually brutal in this city, and hence pose a big threat.

(3). "One chance"

If you are a true Lagosian, this needs no explaining. But for the benefit of non Lagosians, one chance is a set of kidnappers, robbers or ritualists who operate by pretending to be commercial buses and take their unsuspecting victims to an isolated place to conclude the operation. You need to be mindful of the type of vehicle you board in this city.

(4). Falling Roof/Ceilings

Since tenants are mostly desperate, and hardly have a choice, most land owners fail to properly maintain their properties. Leaky roofs could, overtime, cause wooden structures of the roofs and ceilings to weaken and one day, collapse on the occupant. You need to constantly assess what's over your head, especially in a persistently leaky roof arrangement.

(5). Accident

Ah, this one seems to be the commonest of them all. Ever heard of a day when there was no accidents at all on the famous 3rd mainland bridge? Then that must be a special day. In this city, once you are on the road, whether as a driver or pedestrian, you need to apply your five senses. Adhering 100% to the laws of traffic won't be enough. You might be using 'look left, look right, and look left again', etc in other states, don't feel too confident with that in Lagos. All your sense organs must 'pick' like a stabiliser (pun intended) as soon as you step outside of your comfort zone in Lagos, not to talk of being on the roads. Or you want to use 'every other driver is a mad man' in Lagos, it won't suffice. Every other drivers could be mad men waiting in front for you, or pursuing you from the back, or sides. Use your five senses.

(6). Generator fume

Due to the minimal space, most generating sets are kept either by the windows, or corridor. This increases the CO level in the air, and can cause death by suffocation, especially with ventilation already poor.

***Frustration: if you let the stressful life (aptly described as hustling and bustling) of Lagos to get to you, you might eventually find yourself on the other end of suicide, just because a little child refuses to greet you.

Disclaimer: this wasn't, in any way, put together to discredit this beautiful city though. There are far more positives, if you are talking about Lagos life generally, and that's for another thread.
Feel free to add yours.

Even though, I have not been able to hear from the Soldier, I know it's not true. Soldiers don't beat call members like that. They see corpers as their own children. The highest a soldier can ever do to a corper is to drill in punishment. Ask him, he must have done something barbaric.

gidgiddy:
On January 15 of 1966, Nigeria experienced its first coup led by Major Nzeogwu. The coup was put down by the head of the Army, Major General Aguiyi-Ironsi who then assumed power. Ironsi then announced that the top Army commander in Enugu at the time, Lt Colonel David Ejoor should become temporary Military Governor of the East until he (Ironsi) decided on a permanent Governor (Ejoor could not be permanent Governor since he was not from the Eastern Region). Two days later, Ironsi announced the 4 Military Governors for the 4 Regions. They were:-

Lt Colonel Emeka Ojukwu - Eastern Region
Lt Colonel F.A Fajuyi - Western Region
Lt Colonel David Ejoor - Mid-West Region
Major Useman Katsina - Northern Region

Ojukwu flew to Enugu and immediately started work in his temporary office, the one Ejoor had used 2 days before. Ojukwu started growing his trademark beard from that day.

They only good at spewing thrash but their life is so messed up in real life.

7. Start paying tithe..

Meet lovely Nigerian pilot, Aniema Violet Enahoro, who has made name for herself in a male dominated aviation industry. The pretty pilot is from Oron in Akwa Ibom state and married to a pilot from Edo state. The lady who worked with Aerocontractors - disclosed that she receives several encouraging and pleasant remarks from Nigerian passengers, mostly women whenever they see her on flight deck.

In an interview conducted some years back, Violet Enahoro revealed how she enjoys being married to a pilot and how they share stories about their work. In her words;

I’m married to a pilot and this works perfectly for me. They say pilots talk about flying a lot. It’s true, it never gets boring, no two days are really the same and usually I can’t wait to get home and tell him about some weird escapade and vice versa ( be at peace, pilots don’t take passengers up and hunt escapades). I also have a 3 year old and another on the way, which means I’ll have to stop flying soon.

Religion / Re: Who is a Christian? and how do I know I am saved? by Great504: 11:51am On Sep 03, 2017
lightblazingnow:
When the lord God Almighty called his children from hell beneath, Christ Jesus was the first to be raised from the dead, before us. Because you need to realise that before the coming of Christ we were dead and buried in our trespasses and sin

Ephesians 2:1 And you has the Almighty God quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; 2:2 Wherein in time past you walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now is working in the children of disobedience:

Next time you hear about Christianity, just realise that in the original senses of the matter, they died and was raised together with Christ Jesus. But he is firstborn from dead.

Christians are not just some religious folks who have stopped doing this and that, in the light of the lord God Almighty wisdom and judgement, they came out from the grave and hell. The headquarters of Satan the devil.

If you say I want to be a Christian right now, it won't be your own will to do so, someone whom you can not see right now, but would begin to experience the moment you begin to live by trusting him and living for him, has called you to hear his voice.

It's never anyone's will to be a Christian. We are called, chosen and ordained by CHRIST to bear fruit and keep this tradition for ever and more.

The great thing about Christianity is the good work it is born to accomplish on earth and in the world to come.

Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

10:39 And we are witnesses of all things which CHRIST JESUS did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree: 10:40 Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly; 10:41 Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead.

10:42 And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead. 10:43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

These words of scriptures confirms and clarifies what I have been struggling to paint here. If you would read with complete attention and not studying to argue.

Let me tell you something that probably you have never heard of, the devil the enemy of your soul, what I mean by that is that he is committed to stealing your soul, not only that.

But to destroy it, all of your senses, reasoning, thoughts and feelings and emotions. And to finally kill and mortar you on earth. I mean dust to dust.

His duty is to keep you off from seeing what the lord God Almighty is doing through Christ Jesus, to bring you up to the very place of resurrection.

The truth I bring to those of us who have accepted that the lord God Almighty raised Christ Jesus from the dead, should always and never forget that we were raised together with Christ and seated together with Christ Jesus in the heavenly realms.

But, that is not experience by you because of limitations of your knowledge and understanding in affairs of truth.

Grow in grace and in the knowledge of the LORD CHRIST JESUS and of God Almighty.

To conclude, realise resurrection from your dead works, those things which have so influence you greatly on the negatively points. Not by your power or by your might, but by my Spirit says the lord God Almighty.

It's not our thoughts to be born a Christian, it's by the will and pleasures of the lord God Almighty that we are his dear children. Amen
U can simply know u are save when your inner Spirit bears witness with u that u are a son or daughter of God.

How Nigerian police handles small thief vs big thief

Yesterday the officers of the Nigerian Police force celebrated the arrest of a notorious kidnap kingpin, a multi billion naira man with luxurious lifestyle. Reports have it that he wears a wrist watch worth $170,000.

While it was a feat worth celebrating and talked about, there are certain observations from the parade and it looks weired.

1. The Evans kidnapper appeared so confident in photos as opposed to a remorseful and terrified criminal we see in the past
2. The officers did not rough handle him like of men on black normally do
3. He appeared like one of our politicians like Dasuki, Metu, and FFK on their way to court
4. The officers parading him appeared like escorts
5. All gang members well seated vs other cases where they seat on the ground

We just hope we'll see the end of this matter and not swept under the rug as soon as Nigerians forget
It is simply coz they know the big thief can be weird and may be smart.
