"Traffic". The very word that defines whether your blog will be successful or be an inconsequential failure. I officially started blogging at 17, and I must say that the first year was really tough especially in the terms of traffic.

At first I normally got about 8,000 views monthly, I felt satisfied but I decided to move out of my comfort zone and push myself so hard to get extra traffic and build a strong reputation.

I can easily relate to the feeling when you post and you don't get enough views and you feel like you're not doing enough. I've made a post previously on how bloggers can get extra traffic on their blogs but this time I'll be highlighting the types of content that'll get your posts a very good traffic boost.

Basically, if you are trying to increase your traffic, it all depends on the content you are publishing on your blog. If you don’t have good articles as your foundation, then building high-quality backlinks and getting high traffic won’t last for long.

But if you have very educative and informative articles published on your blog, you will certainly get high traffic for a long, long time without putting in so much effort.

These types of content will relatively help you increase the traffic of any site or blog, provided that you make the best posts .

1. List Posts

This type of content attracts lots of visitors each month. These kind of posts can be of any type – Top facts , Recommended Ways , etc. but if the topic is quite interesting, you should see an increase in your traffic in a few days. List posts always get shared a lot on social media sites and are linked back a lot so you will get social and referral traffic as well as a lot of backlinks.

2. Resource Posts

Resource posts bring traffic and backlinks from different sources.

5.Videos
Videos are amazing and many people love videos! If given a chance to read a 1000-word long post and watching a 4-minute video explaining everything that you mentioned in the post, people will most likely choose to go with the video.

YouTube and Vimeo get massive traffic and the chances are high that your videos will also receive amazing views and in return send traffic to your blog.

That you have 3 million does not mean you should do business of 3 million.
I had 1 million early last year and I rented a store with 250,000. I started the business with 450,000 I even carried some products on credit so that I can be determined. Today I can count over 3 million in my account.
I believe u cannot get the solution here. However, think of what people need in your area. Secondly look for the best location to distribute these needs and improve, the rest is history.

When I started my first blog in 2013, I made a lot of mistakes which helped me become better at what I'm doing. I'll outline the most common mistakes people make when starting a blog.

1. Not Submitting A Sitemap.

This is very common among new bloggers. A Sitemap helps search engines index your site properly. The result of not adding this causes poor SEO. Submitting a sitemap was the very first thing I did when launched my current blog NaijaTechGuy. As a result, it's helped in the SEO of my blog and most of my traffic come from search engines. I get roughly about  25,000 visits per week from Google.

2. Sharing Posts By Themselves

Sharing your posts by yourself is cool but when you start posting constantly it'll definitely weigh you down. Most New Bloggers tend to do this. The best way i recommend is to use services like IFTTT, Hootsuite, Postcron or Dlvr.

With IFTTT my posts are automatically shared to Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest, Reddit and other sites as well. Hootsuite and Postcron can help you post in Facebook groups

3. Searching For New Content

This isn't limited to new bloggers. Constantly searching different sites to get what you'll post will get you tired of posting in a short time as you've wasted important time on searching for content. Always use an rss feed reader to curate content. Once the other sites post, you get the update on your phone or computer. It's that simple.

4. Not Choosing A Niche

Some new bloggers don't know anything about choosing a niche. They'll simply rush into entertainment blogging and blog about every thing they come across.  My friend, you're not a newspaper. Get a niche and make yourself a force to reckon with on that niche. Posting about everything simply makes you this -  Jack of all trades but master of none.

Vital Nduwimana hated how many tomatoes he lost every season. For years, his tomatoes started rotting just three or four days after harvest. He felt frustrated.

Mr. Nduwimana explains: “I was not able to sell all my tomatoes; I lost almost half of my production. Worse still, I would sell at a low price in the market. So in 2015, I thought that maybe I should find a tomato conservation technique.”

Mr. Nduwimana grows tomatoes in eastern Burundi, on Kabuyenge hill, five kilometres from the Tanzanian border.

In eastern Burundi, tomatoes are abundant during the harvest months of August and September. But growers find it difficult to keep tomatoes for later sale, which leads to a large number of tomatoes rotting.

Mr. Nduwimana tried several techniques to solve his problem. He tried storing his tomatoes in water, in clay, underground, in cartons, and even in sand. He tried everything that came to his mind—but without success.

Then one day, he noticed that the tomatoes he had kept next to his banana trees were not rotten. Then he noticed the ash at the foot of the banana trees.

He decided to try keeping his tomatoes in ash and found that this was more effective than any of the other techniques he had tried.

He uses ash from a chimney, and sifts it three or four times to remove large residues, debris, and other foreign materials. Then, he dumps the ash into a paper carton and places the tomatoes in the carton. With this technique, Mr. Nduwimana manages to safely store his tomatoes for many months.

He explains: “I keep my tomatoes in the ash for a period of five to six months, so I can sell them in December, January, or February when the price has risen—since tomatoes are rare and become expensive during this period.“

Jean Nivyabandi is an agronomist. He says using ash has no negative effect on the tomatoes, which can be consumed safely. He explains, “There is no risk of tomato toxicity after storage in ash.”

Nevertheless, the agronomist wants the Institute of Agronomic Sciences of Burundi to conduct tests to scientifically validate Mr. Nduwimana’s technique.

Meanwhile, other tomato growers in Cibitoke—the main tomato-producing region of Burundi— have been inspired to try the techniques themselves.

Judith Bizmana also grows tomatoes in Cibitoke. She says: “I can normally harvest between 550 and 600 kilograms of tomatoes per season. But … I would lose nearly half of my production. Today, I rub my hands and smile all the time. Thanks to Mr. Nduwimana’s technique, I can keep my tomatoes [and] wait for the price to rise in the market, knowing that very few of them will rot.”

Meanwhile, the innovative farmer has changed his life. Mr. Nduwimana says: “With the income from the sale of tomatoes, I opened a small restaurant and I am a permanent supplier of tomatoes to restaurants in the provincial capital. I supply the whole market, and I have created jobs, too. My whole life has changed. In the future, I plan to buy a truck to transport my tomatoes.”

The Bible does not contradict itself.
Over the centuries past, Numerous Agnostic and even some atheist professors who have thoroughly studied the entire bible have on many occasions, come to that conclusion, even despite admitting they dont believe it. Although many came to later believe after a complete study of it.

I would like to first define what a contradiction is according to the Oxford English dictionary;

A combination of statements, ideas, or features which are opposed to one another:


A good example will be thus:
"John went to school "

To contradict or oppose this statement,
I will have to say;
"John never went to school"

In the light of the aforementioned definition;
"John went to market"
would not even by any means, be a contradiction to
"John went to school"

Why? You may ask.
The answer is simple;

John may have gone to both school and the market, but at different times.


Both statements can be correct, and so will not be qualified to be regarded as opposed to each other. Hence not contradicting nor inconsistent with each other.

Another example would be:
1. "John met a girl called Mary at school"
2. "John met many girls at school"

These two statements coming from 2 different authors can be correct.

How?
The answer is simple;

John could have met Mary at 8am and subsequently met Patricia, Rose, Bolanle and Rukky at 9am, 10am, 11am and12noon respectively.

So it would obviously have been foolish to call both statements contradictions of each other, or to say both statements are not consistent with each other.

It would have been a different scenario if the original statement was;

"John met only Mary at school"

In this case,
"John met many girls at school"
would be a contradiction.

The word "only" would clearly be the changing factor.

And Still on this example, It will even be more foolish to ask,
"how many girls were at John's school?"

Why is it foolish to ask so?
The answer is easy too.

The subject of the statements was not the total population of girls at John's school.
The subject was rather based on the fact that John met girl/girls at school.

A last example would be;

"John said we could come"
and
"They said we could come"

These 2 statements coming from 2 different authors are not by any means contradictions, neither are they inconsistent, as there are numerous possible ways both could happen and still be true as follows;

1. John could be the spokesman of "they"

OR

2. John and "they" could have said so at different times.

OR

3. John and "they" could have also said so at the same
time in unison

4. And so on and so forth

The only way I could have contradicted

"John said we could come"
Is to have said
"John never said we could come"..


Thats that for buttressing the explanation of what contradictions are.

Coming Back to the bible and the issue of young internet users who claim to be atheists today, its quite unfortunate that many seem to throw around the word "contradiction" all in an attempt to discredit the bible for their personal fleshly gain.
They usually use the internet for this by posting falsely titled articles that make them appear like well researched bible skeptic sholars.

The Parts of the bible where they usually do this, are where different authors give accounts of the same biography or events.
For example, the gospels, 1st and 2nd Kings, Chronicles, Samuel etc.

I will, for the sake of this article, pick one from the popular ones they throw around.

Luke 24:4-5
And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:
5. And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?

AND

Mark 16:5-6
 And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted.
6.And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.

Firstly, Take note, Luke says what happened
"as they were perplexed"

Mark says what happened
"as they entered"

As we can see, Two different points in time
Just take note.

Secondly, also take note
The subject topic of both scriptures is NOT the total population count of men or angel messengers that were inside the tomb.
As a matter of fact, if you observe, carefully, none of those two parts of scriptures mentions the total number of angels that were at the tomb.

The subject of both scriptures was what transpired at different points in time while the women entered and also while they were within the tomb.
Just take note.


But guess what

These two portions of the bible are boldly and wrongly pointed as contradictions to each other on an anti-christian bible quiz  website that was featured on one article written by Seun above

To tell you the extent of their insincerity and utter dishonesty,
They did it by asking the question

" How many men were in Jesus' tomb when the women arrived?"

A careful look at this question would show you that the subject of this question is based on the total population count seen by the women on arrival.
Hence the phrase "How many men"

Moreso, the quiz question also specified subject time; "on arrival"

However and contrarily, none of those bible verses highlighted above had the subject of total population counts.

And also, Mark was the only one who decribed in detail what happened as "they entered" which is synonymous with "on arrival"


They intentionally used a question with a different subject and subject time to arrive at the conclusion that both portions of the bible contradicted each other.

When in actual truth, their question (based on "arrival" was generated from a momentary description from Mark.

They devilishly picked another momentary description for another point in time, from Luke and arrived at the false claim of "contradiction".

Just As illustrated in our earlier example,

"John met a girl at school"
Vs.
"John met many girls at school"

Also, For clarity sake, no portion of the bible talks about the total number of angels that were at the tomb.

Unfortunately, This is not the only portion of the bible they have dishonestly represented as contradiction before.
They have done so on many other verses, as I said before.

For example, the bible never mentioned the number of wise men who came to present gifts to baby Jesus.
But what we find commonly today even among Christians is "three wise men".
This is Wrong!

Another example; the bible never mentions the age of the earth despite the fact that many people go around saying the bible says the earth is 6000 years old

Thank God for bible explanation websites today that can easily be found using search engines like google.
As a result, These verses can now easily be researched.

Such websites are free for everyone to use.

And most importantly, thank God for the Holy Spirit Who reveals these things to us.

Whenever a sincere truth-seeking person is in doubts, he should pray for understanding and the Holy Ghost would open his eyes to understand God's word.

You could also search bible verse explanations on google and youtube.
There are many other free resources online.
Bible explanation is not meant for only theologians and seminarians.

It is sad that many of these young folks who have not read the bible completely before, fall for this "bible contradiction" gimmick and begin to call themselves atheists.
When u Ask them "why?" they would scream "bible contradiction".

The "bible contradiction" gimmick is a plot by the devil directed towards young people of today, to discourage them from approaching what he fears the most, which is the Sword of the Word of God.


He makes them to Forget what the term "contradiction" means in the first place. Giving them a false sense of protection for their sins.
As a result, they never get to ask God for forgiveness.

The devil also makes them forget the fact that being skeptic doesnt necessarily make you an atheist.


My prayer is that, may the Lord Open their eyes to the truth and deliver them from this grand deception.

'My Story

After my secondary education, I decided to further my studies.
I wrote the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th JAMB exams and they were all cancelled. I decided to take the bull by the horn. I went to Enugu State University for a pre-degree program. On the completion of the program, I was offered a course in faculty of Science but the cultism in the institution as at then was unbearable for me, having being attacked twice. I decided to use the 5th JAMB that was released to study at University of Port Harcourt. Then ASUU had a protracted strike that lasted for over six months, I needed to write a 6th JAMB and I scored 274 but that score couldn’t offer me admissions as the two JAMBS were combined because the strike entered another year. After the first 6yrs at home, WAEC too was cancelling my results and I wrote WAEC/NECO four times. I was frustrated, mocked, criticized and called a failure. Some of my classmates were already youth Corpers. Many out of pity told me to quit because school wasn’t for me. The criticisms, mockery and name calling from people that didn’t know what I was passing through compounded my issues and I started thinking of quitting/suicide.
One evening, my brother in-law/mentor told me “Ogechi nobody can frustrate or determine the outcome of your life except you, don’t quit trying, you’ll be whatever you want to be” I repeated that to myself over a hundred times that night and I assumed the position of a CEO in my life.
I enrolled for another pre-degree program in University of Port Harcourt, and wrote the 7th JAMB and it was also canceled but thank God I passed the BASIC program. So to gain admissions to do a bachelors program, I wrote JAMB 7times, WAEC/NECO 4times and Pre-degree 2times.
However, when I finally entered University, I passed Rivers State government scholarship exams to study abroad but few weeks to departure, another government took over in 2007 and cancelled the scholarship. But I told myself I must study in Nigeria and abroad.

People called me a failure but, I don’t know if I am still a failure, if school is for me now or not, or if am still bewitched as people said..
All I can remember now is that I have done BSc in Nigeria, Masters in Safety and Environmental Management in UK, have seven additional professional certifications, qualified as a Chartered Environmentalist in UK and have worked both in Nigeria & Scotland.
I have learnt that setbacks are actually strongholds in disguise if we don’t quit trying.
I have learnt that persistence wears off every resistance.
I have also learnt as a Christian that if your faith says Yes, God won’t say No, only be DETERMINED.

I give God ALL the glory and shame to the devil'.

In one of my former articles How to earn as a writer in Nigeria, I specifically mentioned becoming a freelancer. In order to become a great freelancer, you must know how to write a good sales pitch letter. Like you saw where we explained in Top writer’s secret to earning more, the difference between freelancers who earn more and those who still pick up crumbs, lies in their ability to pitch potential clients. A freelancer writer, who doesn’t know how to write a good sales pitch letter, will end up picking up jobs that are not worth it.

I remember when I first started out as a fresh freelancer on Upwork; I suffered the frustration of not getting enough jobs, just because my sales pitch letter couldn’t even convince my dad to give me a job to handle. The frustration of not getting any job would be small, as when you realize that other writers are making a whole lot of money from that same system. I finally developed and learnt how to write a good sales pitch, and I will be sharing in this article.

Do your Homework

All you do is customize it with a little background search, and you are on the right track.

HI, I am/my name is

Once you have addressed the letter to whomever you feel is the recipient, move fast to introduce yourself. Give out necessary information about yourself that will give you an edge.

For example “My name is Mike and I am the founder of topwritersden, a blog where we tutor freelance writers.

Once you are done with this kind of opening, move fast to the body of your letter.

Opening Speech

A good sales pitch letter isn’t meant to be a wish/love letter where you get to express all your heart desires. It is about researching exactly what the client wants, and you promising to deliver in your sales letter.

In most freelance sites, clients take out time to list out their requirements. As a good freelancer, you should take note of every one of them. That is the reason I insist you make proper background check on the requirements of the client.

Do well to include some personalized details, so as not to make your letter sound like another cold pitch.

You can say “I saw your advert about creating a short fiction romance story, and I believe I have all it takes to complete the job. I have written about 5 short fiction stories and you can access them at www.myshortfictionstories.com...”

Summarize

Once you are done with your opening speech, you should summarize immediately by highlighting your achievements, experience and any other thing you feel can convince someone to give you a job.

Keep it brief

This is 15% lower than any other financial institution. Access to affordable finance is critical to the success of any entrepreneur, as it frees up the cash flow for them to focus on growing their business. The introduction of finance at a lower interest rate for driver-partners will help them thrive as they run their business on the Uber platform.

Uber has particular relevance in a city such as Lagos, where traffic congestion is an ongoing challenge. Nigeria is a booming African economy. With rapid urbanisation comes more people using the country’s roads. Lagos is an economic hub, which makes this challenge increasingly acute for those using the city’s roads. If more people take advantage of ride-sharing services like Uber, there will be less cars on the road and less overall congestion. For this reason, the platform has been welcomed and supported by the Lagos State.

If they qualify for the financing provided by LSETF, Uber entrepreneurs can buy any new locally-assembled car up to a value of N3 million and only need to contribute 5% of the vehicle purchase price when they buy the car.

In order to qualify Lagos entrepreneurs will be required to have been operating on the Uber platform and their Uber rating should be 4.5 or higher.

The Uber and LSETF partnership begins in December with the hopes of expanding it to more Uber partners in the near future.

Yes, yes, yes we all have that time when we mistakenly keep the plantain for too long till it becomes really soft and black. Throwing it away seems like an awful waste but not to worry because you could always prepare an African delicacy with it. You can make Plantain Moi Moi.

Before you scrunch up your face, hear me out. It might sound weird but it tastes amazing. What you need to prepare this dish (depending on how many you are cooking for) includes:
[b]Two pieces of unripe plantain
100 grams of plantain flour
Pepper to taste
Salt to taste
2 cubes of seasoning
1 onion
Some crayfish
2 cooking spoons of palm oil
A pinch of ground ginger for flavour
Cool water
Uma leaves (the traditional wide leaves used for Moi Moi which give it a nice flavor) or small bowls
The steps for preparation are:
1. Cut your onions and pepper, likewise the washed plantain.
2. If you are going for the leaves ensure that you wash it thoroughly before using
3. Mix the plantain flour in a bowl with just enough water to make it a bit thick
4. Blend the overripe plantain with the pepper, onion, and plantain flour batter, adding just enough water to grind the mixture
5. Pour the mixture into a bowl and add your seasoning, ginger salt and palm oil
6. Put a small quantity of water on the fire to boil. Ideally, you should place a steamer in it but if you don’t have that, you can use the cover of a smaller pot as the base.
7. Using a ladle, pour some into the leaves or bowl and wrap carefully
8. Place the wraps on top of the base
9. Leave for about 30 minutes and add water if necessary
10. Let it cool then serve with pap or custard.[/b]
