NaijaTechGuy: When I started my first blog in 2013, I made a lot of mistakes which helped me become better at what I'm doing. I'll outline the most common mistakes people make when starting a blog.
1. Not Submitting A Sitemap.
This is very common among new bloggers. A Sitemap helps search engines index your site properly. The result of not adding this causes poor SEO. Submitting a sitemap was the very first thing I did when launched my current blog NaijaTechGuy. As a result, it's helped in the SEO of my blog and most of my traffic come from search engines. I get roughly about 25,000 visits per week from Google.
2. Sharing Posts By Themselves
Sharing your posts by yourself is cool but when you start posting constantly it'll definitely weigh you down. Most New Bloggers tend to do this. The best way i recommend is to use services like IFTTT, Hootsuite, Postcron or Dlvr.
With IFTTT my posts are automatically shared to Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest, Reddit and other sites as well. Hootsuite and Postcron can help you post in Facebook groups
3. Searching For New Content
This isn't limited to new bloggers. Constantly searching different sites to get what you'll post will get you tired of posting in a short time as you've wasted important time on searching for content. Always use an rss feed reader to curate content. Once the other sites post, you get the update on your phone or computer. It's that simple.
4. Not Choosing A Niche
Some new bloggers don't know anything about choosing a niche. They'll simply rush into entertainment blogging and blog about every thing they come across. My friend, you're not a newspaper. Get a niche and make yourself a force to reckon with on that niche. Posting about everything simply makes you this - Jack of all trades but master of none.
suyamasta: Vital Nduwimana hated how many tomatoes he lost every season. For years, his tomatoes started rotting just three or four days after harvest. He felt frustrated.
Mr. Nduwimana explains: “I was not able to sell all my tomatoes; I lost almost half of my production. Worse still, I would sell at a low price in the market. So in 2015, I thought that maybe I should find a tomato conservation technique.”
Mr. Nduwimana grows tomatoes in eastern Burundi, on Kabuyenge hill, five kilometres from the Tanzanian border.
In eastern Burundi, tomatoes are abundant during the harvest months of August and September. But growers find it difficult to keep tomatoes for later sale, which leads to a large number of tomatoes rotting.
Mr. Nduwimana tried several techniques to solve his problem. He tried storing his tomatoes in water, in clay, underground, in cartons, and even in sand. He tried everything that came to his mind—but without success.
Then one day, he noticed that the tomatoes he had kept next to his banana trees were not rotten. Then he noticed the ash at the foot of the banana trees.
He decided to try keeping his tomatoes in ash and found that this was more effective than any of the other techniques he had tried.
He uses ash from a chimney, and sifts it three or four times to remove large residues, debris, and other foreign materials. Then, he dumps the ash into a paper carton and places the tomatoes in the carton. With this technique, Mr. Nduwimana manages to safely store his tomatoes for many months.
He explains: “I keep my tomatoes in the ash for a period of five to six months, so I can sell them in December, January, or February when the price has risen—since tomatoes are rare and become expensive during this period.“
Jean Nivyabandi is an agronomist. He says using ash has no negative effect on the tomatoes, which can be consumed safely. He explains, “There is no risk of tomato toxicity after storage in ash.”
Nevertheless, the agronomist wants the Institute of Agronomic Sciences of Burundi to conduct tests to scientifically validate Mr. Nduwimana’s technique.
Meanwhile, other tomato growers in Cibitoke—the main tomato-producing region of Burundi— have been inspired to try the techniques themselves.
Judith Bizmana also grows tomatoes in Cibitoke. She says: “I can normally harvest between 550 and 600 kilograms of tomatoes per season. But … I would lose nearly half of my production. Today, I rub my hands and smile all the time. Thanks to Mr. Nduwimana’s technique, I can keep my tomatoes [and] wait for the price to rise in the market, knowing that very few of them will rot.”
Meanwhile, the innovative farmer has changed his life. Mr. Nduwimana says: “With the income from the sale of tomatoes, I opened a small restaurant and I am a permanent supplier of tomatoes to restaurants in the provincial capital. I supply the whole market, and I have created jobs, too. My whole life has changed. In the future, I plan to buy a truck to transport my tomatoes.”
felixomor: The Bible does not contradict itself. Over the centuries past, Numerous Agnostic and even some atheist professors who have thoroughly studied the entire bible have on many occasions, come to that conclusion, even despite admitting they dont believe it. Although many came to later believe after a complete study of it.
I would like to first define what a contradiction is according to the Oxford English dictionary;
A combination of statements, ideas, or features which are opposed to one another:
A good example will be thus: "John went to school "
To contradict or oppose this statement, I will have to say; "John never went to school"
In the light of the aforementioned definition; "John went to market" would not even by any means, be a contradiction to "John went to school"
Why? You may ask. The answer is simple;
John may have gone to both school and the market, but at different times.
Both statements can be correct, and so will not be qualified to be regarded as opposed to each other. Hence not contradicting nor inconsistent with each other.
Another example would be: 1. "John met a girl called Mary at school" 2. "John met many girls at school"
These two statements coming from 2 different authors can be correct.
How? The answer is simple;
John could have met Mary at 8am and subsequently met Patricia, Rose, Bolanle and Rukky at 9am, 10am, 11am and12noon respectively.
So it would obviously have been foolish to call both statements contradictions of each other, or to say both statements are not consistent with each other.
It would have been a different scenario if the original statement was;
"John met only Mary at school"
In this case, "John met many girls at school" would be a contradiction.
The word "only" would clearly be the changing factor.
And Still on this example, It will even be more foolish to ask, "how many girls were at John's school?"
Why is it foolish to ask so? The answer is easy too.
The subject of the statements was not the total population of girls at John's school. The subject was rather based on the fact that John met girl/girls at school.
A last example would be;
"John said we could come" and "They said we could come"
These 2 statements coming from 2 different authors are not by any means contradictions, neither are they inconsistent, as there are numerous possible ways both could happen and still be true as follows;
1. John could be the spokesman of "they"
OR
2. John and "they" could have said so at different times.
OR
3. John and "they" could have also said so at the same time in unison
4. And so on and so forth
The only way I could have contradicted
"John said we could come" Is to have said "John never said we could come"..
Thats that for buttressing the explanation of what contradictions are.
Coming Back to the bible and the issue of young internet users who claim to be atheists today, its quite unfortunate that many seem to throw around the word "contradiction" all in an attempt to discredit the bible for their personal fleshly gain. They usually use the internet for this by posting falsely titled articles that make them appear like well researched bible skeptic sholars.
The Parts of the bible where they usually do this, are where different authors give accounts of the same biography or events. For example, the gospels, 1st and 2nd Kings, Chronicles, Samuel etc.
I will, for the sake of this article, pick one from the popular ones they throw around.
Luke 24:4-5 And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments: 5. And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?
AND
Mark 16:5-6 And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted. 6.And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.
Firstly, Take note, Luke says what happened "as they were perplexed"
Mark says what happened "as they entered"
As we can see, Two different points in time Just take note.
Secondly, also take note The subject topic of both scriptures is NOT the total population count of men or angel messengers that were inside the tomb. As a matter of fact, if you observe, carefully, none of those two parts of scriptures mentions the total number of angels that were at the tomb.
The subject of both scriptures was what transpired at different points in time while the women entered and also while they were within the tomb. Just take note.
But guess what
These two portions of the bible are boldly and wrongly pointed as contradictions to each other on an anti-christian bible quiz website that was featured on one article written by Seun above You can check it here:
To tell you the extent of their insincerity and utter dishonesty, They did it by asking the question " How many men were in Jesus' tomb when the women arrived?"
A careful look at this question would show you that the subject of this question is based on the total population count seen by the women on arrival. Hence the phrase "How many men"
Moreso, the quiz question also specified subject time; "on arrival"
However and contrarily, none of those bible verses highlighted above had the subject of total population counts.
And also, Mark was the only one who decribed in detail what happened as "they entered" which is synonymous with "on arrival"
They intentionally used a question with a different subject and subject time to arrive at the conclusion that both portions of the bible contradicted each other.
When in actual truth, their question (based on "arrival" was generated from a momentary description from Mark.
They devilishly picked another momentary description for another point in time, from Luke and arrived at the false claim of "contradiction".
Just As illustrated in our earlier example,
"John met a girl at school" Vs. "John met many girls at school"
Also, For clarity sake, no portion of the bible talks about the total number of angels that were at the tomb.
Unfortunately, This is not the only portion of the bible they have dishonestly represented as contradiction before. They have done so on many other verses, as I said before.
For example, the bible never mentioned the number of wise men who came to present gifts to baby Jesus. But what we find commonly today even among Christians is "three wise men". This is Wrong!
Another example; the bible never mentions the age of the earth despite the fact that many people go around saying the bible says the earth is 6000 years old
Thank God for bible explanation websites today that can easily be found using search engines like google. As a result, These verses can now easily be researched. A good one is www.biblestudytools.com Such websites are free for everyone to use.
And most importantly, thank God for the Holy Spirit Who reveals these things to us.
Whenever a sincere truth-seeking person is in doubts, he should pray for understanding and the Holy Ghost would open his eyes to understand God's word.
You could also search bible verse explanations on google and youtube. There are many other free resources online. Bible explanation is not meant for only theologians and seminarians.
It is sad that many of these young folks who have not read the bible completely before, fall for this "bible contradiction" gimmick and begin to call themselves atheists. When u Ask them "why?" they would scream "bible contradiction".
The "bible contradiction" gimmick is a plot by the devil directed towards young people of today, to discourage them from approaching what he fears the most, which is the Sword of the Word of God.
He makes them to Forget what the term "contradiction" means in the first place. Giving them a false sense of protection for their sins. As a result, they never get to ask God for forgiveness.
The devil also makes them forget the fact that being skeptic doesnt necessarily make you an atheist.
My prayer is that, may the Lord Open their eyes to the truth and deliver them from this grand deception.

'My Story
After my secondary education, I decided to further my studies. I wrote the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th JAMB exams and they were all cancelled. I decided to take the bull by the horn. I went to Enugu State University for a pre-degree program. On the completion of the program, I was offered a course in faculty of Science but the cultism in the institution as at then was unbearable for me, having being attacked twice. I decided to use the 5th JAMB that was released to study at University of Port Harcourt. Then ASUU had a protracted strike that lasted for over six months, I needed to write a 6th JAMB and I scored 274 but that score couldn’t offer me admissions as the two JAMBS were combined because the strike entered another year. After the first 6yrs at home, WAEC too was cancelling my results and I wrote WAEC/NECO four times. I was frustrated, mocked, criticized and called a failure. Some of my classmates were already youth Corpers. Many out of pity told me to quit because school wasn’t for me. The criticisms, mockery and name calling from people that didn’t know what I was passing through compounded my issues and I started thinking of quitting/suicide. One evening, my brother in-law/mentor told me “Ogechi nobody can frustrate or determine the outcome of your life except you, don’t quit trying, you’ll be whatever you want to be” I repeated that to myself over a hundred times that night and I assumed the position of a CEO in my life. I enrolled for another pre-degree program in University of Port Harcourt, and wrote the 7th JAMB and it was also canceled but thank God I passed the BASIC program. So to gain admissions to do a bachelors program, I wrote JAMB 7times, WAEC/NECO 4times and Pre-degree 2times. However, when I finally entered University, I passed Rivers State government scholarship exams to study abroad but few weeks to departure, another government took over in 2007 and cancelled the scholarship. But I told myself I must study in Nigeria and abroad.
People called me a failure but, I don’t know if I am still a failure, if school is for me now or not, or if am still bewitched as people said.. All I can remember now is that I have done BSc in Nigeria, Masters in Safety and Environmental Management in UK, have seven additional professional certifications, qualified as a Chartered Environmentalist in UK and have worked both in Nigeria & Scotland. In order to become a great freelancer, you must know how to write a good sales pitch letter. Like you saw where we explained in Top writer’s secret to earning more, the difference between freelancers who earn more and those who still pick up crumbs, lies in their ability to pitch potential clients. A freelancer writer, who doesn’t know how to write a good sales pitch letter, will end up picking up jobs that are not worth it.
I remember when I first started out as a fresh freelancer on Upwork; I suffered the frustration of not getting enough jobs, just because my sales pitch letter couldn’t even convince my dad to give me a job to handle. The frustration of not getting any job would be small, as when you realize that other writers are making a whole lot of money from that same system. I finally developed and learnt how to write a good sales pitch, and I will be sharing in this article.
A lot of sites/blogs will keep repeating the same old junk, and keep recycling tactics that are either outdated or just can’t work presently. I believe that whatever I am sharing with you now would be your winning ticket to earning a lot of money from writing.
Do your Homework
Just the way you prefer giving out good things to friends and people within your trust circle, Clients also feel the same way when a potential employee address them personally. Nothing disgusts a potential client than when you send out random pitch sales. If you are on a freelancer website like Upwork, instead of typing out “Dear sir”, you can try out “Dear Mr Bill”. Most of their names are already down for you to see, so it would cost nothing to add it up your sales letter. All you do is customize it with a little background search, and you are on the right track.
HI, I am/my name is
Once you have addressed the letter to whomever you feel is the recipient, move fast to introduce yourself. Give out necessary information about yourself that will give you an edge.
For example “My name is Mike and I am the founder of topwritersden, a blog where we tutor freelance writers.
Once you are done with this kind of opening, move fast to the body of your letter.
Opening Speech
A good sales pitch letter isn’t meant to be a wish/love letter where you get to express all your heart desires. It is about researching exactly what the client wants, and you promising to deliver in your sales letter.
In most freelance sites, clients take out time to list out their requirements. As a good freelancer, you should take note of every one of them. That is the reason I insist you make proper background check on the requirements of the client.
Do well to include some personalized details, so as not to make your letter sound like another cold pitch.
You can say “I saw your advert about creating a short fiction romance story, and I believe I have all it takes to complete the job. I have written about 5 short fiction stories and you can access them at www.myshortfictionstories.com...”
Summarize
Once you are done with your opening speech, you should summarize immediately by highlighting your achievements, experience and any other thing you feel can convince someone to give you a job.
Keep it brief
Nothing sucks more than a lengthy sales pitch letter. Most upcoming freelancers feel that by typing and pouring out their minds on their letter, it would give them the job. Keeping it short and simple yet filled with reasons to be hired, does the magic.
Go for it
At the end of your sales pitch, you should put out a call to action. Ask for the job and you will get it. It is as simple as that, once you adhere to the above rules.
Proof-read
We are all prone to mistakes, so don’t bother hitting the send button immediately after typing. Take your time and check out for errors. Imagine asking for a writing job and your sales pitch letter is filled with errors.
Deliver
After checking for errors, go ahead and send the sales pitch
Follow up
95% of freelancers don’t do this and it has costs them to miss out on a lot of jobs. Following up in a well-planned way shows the client that you are really passionate about the job.
For freelancers who are just starting out, it is necessary to include it in your mail.
Example “I will check back in a few days to know when we can commence the project.”
You have said you will do, and then make sure you do it.
This may take a bit of work and commitment, but once you have gotten a winning format, it keeps serving you. 5. Thank you prayer for friends: Friends can be our blessings. And such relations come from the Lord. So, take some time to thank Him for these special people and ask for the positive change and blessing into their lives.
6. Prayer for grace: “Dear God, My life is a mess and I don't want to live this way anymore. Give me the grace to overcome my sloppy habits. Help me by showing me the strength I already have is all I need to change. Amen.” By the grace of God, we are who we are. It has the real life changing and healing power it in.
7. Prayer for self-worth: Jesus said: love your neighbor as yourself. It means we need to learn to love and respect ourselves before we can love others. Pray to the Lord to show you all the investments He has made into you. Ask Him to show His character and traits in you. And thank Him sincerely for who you are.

The option to purchase locally made vehicles gives entrepreneurs the opportunity to obtain the assets required to grow their business and contributes to the growth of the local economy. Local automotive production is a priority across the country, which has been emphasised in the Nigeria Automotive Industry Development Plan (NAIDP). Nigeria is a promising automotive hub, given its large economy, growing urban population and a targeted drive by government to grow the industry.
Ridesharing trends and a refined automotive industry go hand in hand. Dr. Andrew S. Nevin, Advisory Partner and Chief Economist, PwC Nigeria says, “Already Uber driver-partners have made over a million trips in Nigeria in the last two years. This trend could fast-track Nigeria’s path to becoming an automotive hub potentially boosting sales of new and used vehicles as individuals take advantage of partnering with these companies to gain extra income.” These new cars on the road are likely to replace thousands of personal cars in Lagos, as more people use Uber to move across the city. Over time as people get used to the idea that you can always push a button and get a ride -- the need to own a car, or buy a second family car, goes down.
The total offering to Uber Lagos entrepreneurs includes finance at a fixed interest rate of 5% per annum, with a loan period of 36 months. Lagos driver-partners will be afforded the opportunity to purchase a vehicle to the value of up to N3 million, with a 5% deposit required. Stallion motors are offering both the Hyundai Grand Xcent (N3m) and Hyundai i10 (N2.7m) for this deal - both cars are locally assembled and are in line with the NAIDP.
In order to qualify Lagos entrepreneurs will be required to have been operating on the Uber platform and their Uber rating should be 4.5 or higher.
The Uber and LSETF partnership begins in December with the hopes of expanding it to more Uber partners in the near future.

Before you scrunch up your face, hear me out. It might sound weird but it tastes amazing. What you need to prepare this dish (depending on how many you are cooking for) includes: [b]Two pieces of unripe plantain 100 grams of plantain flour Pepper to taste Salt to taste 2 cubes of seasoning 1 onion Some crayfish 2 cooking spoons of palm oil A pinch of ground ginger for flavour Cool water Uma leaves (the traditional wide leaves used for Moi Moi which give it a nice flavor) or small bowls The steps for preparation are: 1. Cut your onions and pepper, likewise the washed plantain. 2. If you are going for the leaves ensure that you wash it thoroughly before using 3. Mix the plantain flour in a bowl with just enough water to make it a bit thick 4. Blend the overripe plantain with the pepper, onion, and plantain flour batter, adding just enough water to grind the mixture 5. Pour the mixture into a bowl and add your seasoning, ginger salt and palm oil 6. Put a small quantity of water on the fire to boil. TRYGO: INTRODUCTION In some of the articles I have written so far on this platform about overheating problems, I did point out some of the major causes of over heating to be coolant leaks, or no coolant in the cooling system; faulty water pumps; faulty thermostats; corroded radiator systems, etc.
Today, I would be presenting a cause study of one of the engines we've just worked on.
Here we go NOW!
CASE STUDY Vehicle type: Honda civic; 2doors Mileage: 154, 752miles Transmission type: Manual; front wheel drive. Engine type: 4cylinder
CUSTOMER'S COMPLAINTS Customer complains that temperature gauge suddenly reaches the peak level(highest); Steam comes out of the engine compartment; engine begins to misfires. All these happened while the customer was in traffic around Oshodi Oke express road in Lagos State.
Complaints like these heralds "first degree" overheating. Those if you in the medical field, would know what I mean by first degree "overheating". I'm just trying to draw a link between first degree burns, and terrible overheating.
Looking for a word that could describe how the owner of the car could have allowed the car to overheat to this stage. What would have caused the engine to overheat, up to the extend that the engine oil gauge melts and breaks in to two halves?
Those are some the questions we would be trying to answer in this article.
TROUBLESHOOTING This section would highlight what should be done, by a technically inclined car owner, or better still, the mechanic handling the job. How was the problem tackled, and solved?
1. Car was wholly inspected; cooling system components were all checked for integrity.
*radiator cooling fan(s) was checked if the rotation was at the right setting. By this I meant, was the fan rotating in the right direction to extract hot air from the engine? * physically examined the water pump for signs of leaks. There weren't any visible signs of leaks on the water pump housing, etc. *radiator hoses were also checked for kinks, and signs of failure.
PS: Radiator hoses showing signs of weakness are usually soft like "kpomo", to the touch. Radiator hoses like that, would fail during extreme temperature rises, because they won't be able to cope with the thermal differences of the engine under varying operating conditions. So, the next time you go buying a used radiator hose, ensure you get a hose that's little bit harder than " kpomo".
*radiator system was checked, and we discovered that the radiator top, where coolant's being introduced was leaking. To our greatest surprise, during close inspections, we further discovered that the junction that links the main radiator overflow tank, to the top of the radiator has sometimes ago being sealed using 5minute gum(a hard kind of gum, people claim could hold together pieces of plastics/metals together).
WHAT CAUSED THE OVERHEATING IN THE FIRST PLACE Some of you might want to know what really cased the engine to overheat in the first place?
Well, from our troubleshooting and analysis, the major cause of the overheating was due to the customer's "manage!!!" attitude. He had trued to save some "bucks" by mending the radiator filling section, at the top of the radiator. He had successfully done that, and had never thought such GLUES doesn't last. He was running away from buying a new, or fairly used radiator system. Emmmmmm, for your information, he's a car dealer. Please o!, don't tell them I told you that's what SOME of them do, to make "stupendous" profit.
THE FIX. WHAT WE DID! From looking at the engine oil dipstick, you could see how the extremely high temperatures the engine has gone through, melted the dipstick. That tells me, the engine block, and cylinder head must have being wapped. I mean, they must have undergone thermal expansions, above the manufacturer's set threshold, or limit. In such situations, the car is at risk of engine damage. Using such engine block, could only complicate issues.
ADVICE TO CAR OWNERS *Keep your eyes on the temperature gauge while driving. Your car's temperature shouldn't exceed the 1/2 mark. If it does, you've got some issues with the cooling system.
*Don't manage your cooling system components. They're critical to your car's operating efficiency. From this case study, you can see that this client, decided to "manage", by applying some sort of adhesive material to seal the broken supply outlet to the overflow tank. The consequences are just so enormous to handle. This repair, cost him replacing the top cylinder head completely.
CONCLUSIONS A car's cooling system is very critical to it's operation. Any distortion in it's dynamics, would terribly jeopardize it's efficiency. " Managing" any of a car's cooling system, such has being done by this client, shouldn't be a permanent fix, but a temporal one. For instance, if you're stuck somewhere, along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. A temporal fix could be done, with the intention of bringing the car safely to your mechanic. A stitch in time saves 10(that's my own saying o!).

Step #3 - Build A Strong Relationship With Your Subscribers
Once these persons are on your list, you should build a relationship with them by sending them more valuable content that will help them get closer to their goals. This way they will like and trust you as a person who really cares about them.

saydfact: How to build your dream bungalow earning little: budget and approximate cost.
No1. Ensure you have a land,
You can pick one of the low cost areas; for many reasons which includes a. Cost of land is cheap (obviously - why its called low cost area) b. Normally these areas have good and film soil types c. Labour cost is relatively cheaper to the high cost areas (but sometimes this is not a major factor because you can bring your workers and labour from any area) d. Material cost are cheaper
I'll advice you get a One Plot of land ( 18m x 36m i.e 60ft x 120ft ) however if the price is too much to afford, settle for a half plot of land ( 9m x 36m i.e 30ft by 120ft OR 18m x 18m i.e 60ft x 60ft )
No2. Get a decent design from an Architect (not a draftsman)
There are many advantages - You are going to live in this property for a long time; or a life time - a badly designed / ventilated house would mean a future renovation at a cost higher than what you're trying to save now.
My advice here is that you ask for a minimum 3 bedroom design, and depending on your land, pocket you could opt for a 4 bedroom bungalow. Remember we Africans and Nigerians have a link to our extended families - so you want to provide a room for your Parents, Grand Parents, Cousins and Family Friend etc should they visit and want to stay overnight. I always discourage people from 2 bedroom apartment. You pay more on the long run.
No3. Get a good good workforce
Preferably via referral. I don't recommend using one of the locals (bricklayers, carpenter etc) living in the area you just brought your land. They normally do bad job, steal your materials or get away with money, because they are locals - dealing with them is difficult considering you would be living in that community soon.
My advice here is contact a friend or relative building and ask to use his workforce on your own negotiation, cos if your guy has more funds than you do, you might not afford what he's paying them. so it's your terms not his.
No4. Cost
You're probably doing to spend a fraction of a million on foundation to German floor. (remember we picked a good soil area) - so how do you get your first million to start?
Well, you don't need a million; a. Buy let less than 30 tonnes of granite (preferably) or 2 tippers of gravel. 30 tonnes means you'll get delivery from a quarry and a good deal, but sometimes its difficult for the 30 tonnes trailer to access your site, only then should you settle for 15 or 20 tonnes. b. Buy one 20 tonnes tippers of sharp sand; this would serve us to German floor level c. Save for 50 bags of cement; but the actual amount you'll need is about 30 for foundation and 15 for block works and other works. d. We wont be budgeting for reinforcement bars (rebars) because we picked a good soil.
No5. The actual works.
a. Ensure you get the Hausa guys to clear your site and up-root any tree that falls on the building's location totally, at a price of about 10k, you should get this done. b. Digging of foundation would cost you about 25k - 30k; if you pay more than that, then you must have hit a rock under ground that needs extra cutting, however I always advice you follow C below c. Always negotiate for all works in a stage at once, don't separate the works eg digging, foundation, blockworks etc instead discuss by saying Foundation works to German floor. (minus filling to German floor and German floor itself) d. Filling can be done by yourself, buy your filling and get people to spread it at a rate of about 2.5k per tipper, you would need as much as 12 tippers here x about 20k per tipper but we can save cost e. Your bricklayer should be charging you about 100 - 120k for all the works in this section (digging, casting of foundation, block works) f. I ALWAYS ADVICE YOU DON'T HAVE LESS THAN 4 COURSES - DONT LET ANYONE TELL YOU OTHERWISE; should there be need to add a fifth, ask for the advice of a professional. 3 courses is not saving money, it is inviting trouble in the nearest future.
No6. Saving money.
To save money you can opt to dig your septic tank & soak away and use the sand dug out for filling, this would normally save you about 200k. YES! but rules applies. a. Make sure erect the blockworks to the septic tank and soak away immediately after digging b. Make sure the septic tank is well plastered c. Make sure you supervise the back-filling yourself, ie every space between the septic tank's block and the natural ground must be well filled and compacted to avoid a tear off after the first rain.
No7. What Next?
Now that you have completed this works, filled the foundation to level allow rain fall on it, compact it before thinking of your german floor.
IT IS COMMON TO SEE PEOPLE CONTINUE THE BUILDING TO LINTEL OR ROOF LEVEL WITHOUT A GERMAN FLOOR but I'll advise you do it; remember, the plan is to complete the house over a long period (from limited fund), the amount you'll probably save by skipping this stage would be forced out of your pocket later in the project. You don't need something too thick, a German floor of between 3inches - 4inches would do the trick.

E.X.O is a nigerian super hero comic book, but the guys at YouNeek Studios created an animated short/trailer to feed our eyes and I love it .Everything is just on point ,lighting,animation,storyline .Am I the only one who saw Third Mainland Bridge in the video ?.
This was released about 2 years ago,Eri Umusu is the brains behind this one.
Its is a wonderful piece , I particularly like the animation(Body movement,Physics etc ).I wasn't too happy with the story line and environment .But its a very wonderful piece.Nice one Eri heard you are cooking something new up, can't wait !!!.

Slyr0x: Yesterday, I was trying to help a client fix a hacked site and one of the controls I put in place was to monitor changes to files on the web server. . So I'll just explain how you can also do same (either you are on a shared-hosting or dedicated server provided it's a LINUX box).
Over time when malicious hackers hit your site, they've been known to drop a backdoor somewhere on your server. It could be the /css , /images , /admin/images, /js , /includes directories . .somewhere far hidden from you.
To check for recent file changes on your webserver, you can do this
1. If you have SSH access, fire up Putty and run this command
Make sure /home/xxxxxxxxx/public_html is the full path to your public_html,www, httpdocs directory
2. Setup a cron job
- Login to your cPanel - Under "Advanced" submenu, you will see "Cron Jobs". Click it - Tweak the settings to suit you (either you want alerts hourly/daily/weekly) - There is a section for "Commands", type in - Click "Add New Cron Jobs"
This will NOT prevent files from being changed without your knowledge. However, if a file is added or changed, you will get an email alert telling you which file was changed.

I would categorize the people from which you can buy any parcel of land into three: An estate developer, an individual & directly from the family who claims to own the land. If you are dealing with an estate developer (buying within an estate), you should ask for the approved survey plan, approved layout, the power of attorney and the global C of O. If you are buying from an individual or company (one who has bought and wishes to resell), you should ask for the receipt, deed of assignment, approved survey plan and C of O.
Buying directly from the family who claims to own the land is quite tricky. This is because it is difficult to determine the true owners of the land especially when the documents showing ownership haven’t been processed.
Where the documents haven’t been processed, there are no documents to show authenticity and a prospective buyer has to really a great deal on word of mouth from the members of the community to ascertain the true owner(s) of the land in question.
When the documents have been processed, they should provide you with the approved survey plan, approved layout (where the land is a large one and is being sold on a per plot basis) and the C of O.
From my experience, families usually don’t go to the length of processing their C of O. Reason being that they hope to sell off their land in the near future thus only do the absolute minimum required to show authenticity, in this case the approved survey plan and layout, then passing it on to the buyer who would go on to perfect his/her title on the land.
NOTE: It is very important that you have a good property lawyer before embarking on land/property purchase. Reason being that your lawyer is the one who ensures that you don’t run into legal trouble with land/property documents after purchase. It’s your lawyer’s job to verify the authenticity of any title document backing the land/property.
PROPERTY SEARCH Under the Lagos State Land Bureau:
Conducting a Search: • Application submitted with affidavit of purpose (searches are conducted using the following criteria: – Name of Owner, Registration Particulars, Address of Property and Survey Plan. • Letter of Authority (where applicable) • Endorsement • Bill for payment of Search Fees • Tender Tellers • Conduct Search
