Mercychen: When will ladies ever have Sense?
Even with all the news of ritual killings and chidinmas case still in and out of court, some ladies are still following men to hotels.. SMH.
Now you got there and started forming what exactly? Should I call it decency or chastity? Dumb!
If the man was high on some hard substance and tried to force himself on her; she too fights back and kills him or ends up being killed, what will she explain? That she was forced down to the place? Unfortunately they won't think like this. They'd say you're blaming the victim. |

Shokoloko: Go to Germany. Your journey is a little similar to my sisters. When you get to Germany, try to cross over to Canada or US. However if you decide to stay in Germany, that is still awesome. I am very happy for you. No matter how much the bank was paying, you cannot compare the peace of mind experienced outside Nigeria You're correct. The peace of mind part is underrated |

impactValue: Greetings, good people of Nairaland
Please I need a piece of honest advice from experienced nairalanders, I am a Software Engineer, I got an offer from a very close friend (He is like a brother to me) of mine that resides in Dubai to come and manage a club he co-owns to enable him time for other activities. I will need to learn how nightclubs operate since I have little or zero knowledge about the nightlife. I have the freedom to pick up side gigs (or remote work) when I can and He is not in any way restricting me but he needs me to learn the business with him.
The plan, in a simple language, when I learn the business well enough he will pull out and open his own so I can be his manager since he doesn't want recognition.
He paid for my flight ticket and was the one that processed the visa for me (tourism) and he is currently working on how my visa can be extended and my work permit too.
Before I came to Dubai, I applied for this opening with a tech firm in Berlin. I completed the last stage here in Dubai and have been sent the offer but I will have to relocate to Germany because the work is on-site, the company bare expenses regards flight ticket, travel insurance, visa process et al. The start salary is 56K euros per annum (gross).
Also, I resigned from a bank as a development specialist (full-time staff not yet confirmed though, was earning 450K naira net with other benefits) prior to my trip to Dubai. I was doing well in Nigeria because I earned a total of up to 800K (with all my works combined) just that the work ethic (the bank work) is toxic to me because you will work your brain out debugging code, plus I am looking at a good place that I can start a family when I am ready and Nigeria is a no for me unless I have enough money to send my kid abroad to study.
What do I do now that I am already in Dubai? I am passionate about tech and I love the echo system. Please any input from experienced fellows will go a long way for me.
Thanks in advance. Mod please help so I can get as much input as possible Berlin is beautiful, been there and loved it. It isn't so fast paced like London or Munich I suppose (never been to Munich though, just heard). Career wise, I feel Berlin is better for you and I bet your friend will understand considering he'll also want what's best for you. You can have an honest talk with him and recommend someone you know that is trustworthy to take your place. Do try to understand the tax system in Germany and know what your net income is though cos omo that Berlin is somehow expensive compared to smaller cities like Budapest though. As far as I know they once had a housing problem (houses dey but just too expensive lol) but I think the govt stepped in. If you like history you'll love the place. Visit L'osteria restaurant near Alexanderplatz and thank me later. Affordable and nice meals there. I hope you don't like beer cos Germans will kill you with cheap and very good drinks. Also once you're in Europe, you have way more access to opportunities and career boost. Look out for occasional subtle racism but you should be able to handle it, from my experience there it could definitely be worse All the best, and good luck. |

And it would take 3 different administration, each serving 2 terms before they would get to 80% completion.. That's a fat lie. They openely promote drugs, violence, sex, wild lifestyle and wild parties. They transfer same ugly lifestyle to the younger generation that are supposed to be responsible.
This is not what Martin Luther & others fought and died for. And when they're targeted by the whites they complain Please keep quiet cos I'm in Europe and these lot are wilder than blacks may ever be. Only difference is they balance it out with enough focus on academia and try not to project it actively to their younger population. You're calling Ketamine and meth in the same sentence like they're analogues. We're talking nootropics here with heavy risk of dependence and you're making it sound trivial like it's just placebo. When you're in your early 50s and your brain is gone you'd be looking for the enemies who did it to you. Better go for a brain scan now and see a psychotherapist while you're at it. yinkbell: Hello explorer? People with tetanus; are they always taking this position?. What happens to their bones and what is the cause of tetanus please? Tetanus is caused by Clostridium tetani which has a neurotoxin meaning that the nervous system will be attacked by this bacteria (just how let's say clostridium difficile will attack your gastrointestinal or H. Pylori will attack stomach wall and cause you ulcer). So, tetanospasmin toxin from this bacteria will block inhibitory neurotransmitters that are supposed to relax your body and stop nerve transmission especially at the neuromuscular junctions. That's why you see that person stretched out like that cause the inhibition is lost and only excitation is maintained. The explanation is vague still but manage am like that |

Ugbo hasn't shown any phenomenal exploits. If he did, England would definitely have been hovering.
The point I'm making is that, a fear of competition conjoined with some allegiance to the nation where he has lived most of his life is what made him pick Canada.
It could not have been borne out of footballing reasons. Or maybe the Canadian team has a good crop of players currently with a good manager and may outlast your super eagles in the world cup. When was the last time you checked the stats of the Canadian national team. Football has changed, teams like Denmark, Austria, Switzerland can beat anybody. |

humilitypays: Remove masturbation from your list, its not a dangerous addiction like you claim.
In fact, 9 in every 10 men was once a masturbator if not 10 in every 10 men.
Masturbation is a natural phenomenon that has no correlation with drug addiction or alcoholism or other dangerous addictions.
Even animals masturbate, so remove that from your list Oga stop this unnecessary justification. Go and talk to neuroscientists who examine brain scans daily and tell them that. You can become addicted to almost anything that isn't a natural occurrence in your daily life. That mad dopamine spike that makes people abandon their senses is what you're here belittling. |
Celebrities › Re: The Sad End Of Brenda Fassie: Bad Addiction Destroys by greenprince(m): 10:12am On Oct 23, 2021 |
Thank you for sharing, but you don't only need Jesus to quit addictions. You need you as well.
A strong resolve backed up by a plan and practical steps cos your brain is what is being tampered with here. This is why addictions are often seen as spiritual problems (and they can be sometimes).
But taking practical steps like having an accountability partner, avoiding scenarios that lead to satisfying that urge, taking one day at a time, and then keeping very busy while exchanging your bad habits with something more profitable will do a lot of good.
Of course, the principles of self mastery and discipline either from a philosophical or biblical stance will also help. But it's not just about calling on God and folding our arms most times. We are also called by God to be intentional and listen to his voice when he speaks to us. |

But i needed advise if it's proper to start teaching her things outside her scheme of Work, since she has already knew everything they are currently doing. Will i be pushing her to much? I had discussed with my wife to start teaching her addition and subtraction, and we've already prepared a timetable for that. I'd advise you engage her in learning an instrument as you said. That thing crazily boosts both motor and cognitive ability. See that she plays enough, not video games or electronic stuff too much but more of Lego or other toys. In the long run her ability to grasp concepts easily can make her lazy and when she enters uni for a tough major, she may not have the resilience to pull through. Try to remind her that hard work is essential even as you tell her she's special. If she can combine both well, then there's no stopping her. |
