Congratulations

AbbyE:
Yes it was approved. He just asked me what I do and I gave that response as stated in my post

That is a ridiculous assertion. When people post their transcripts and they made obvious mistakes are we supposed to clap for them or point it out so that they could do better next time? If like you said, with your month old profile that you read the other parts, you would see that some people post their intended transcripts before their interviews, so that others can point out loopholes. Interview is serious business, not something you wake up and go to without preparation. You have been refused visa in the past and you now tell the VO 'No' when asked, how on earth are they going to issue you with a visa? Maybe you are one of the agents or trouble makers banned here cos your reasoning is not logical and unhelpful to the applicants.

Dammilekan:
Now I know why people no longer Post their transcript,u people must find useless mistake, it not about names, marriage, virgin pass port, or how your siblings got their visas undecided I think d decision is with d v.O it in d 90s when ppl are not much in their embassy that when we can guess about their denial, have been to their embassy and they deny some people by just asking them reason of traveling and I know some people who got their visa on virgin passport pls this is 2019 abeg...... Don't use anybody transcript to abuse or insult them just learn from their own and move on.
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by groovychik(f): 12:18am On May 01, 2019
Some people are either too lazy or cannot read and want to be spoon fed. Those asking how you can apply for visa can just read the last three pages and get the answers but they wont bother.

seyewest:
You're right but my problem is with random people criticizing this body of work, this is 4-6 yrs of pure treasure.... if you have a very good ''ties'' you won't even be bothered about U.S Visa because ''options plenty''. I'm all about constructive criticism but from random person that hardly contribute to this forum, that I won't take.
I've stopped answering repetitive questions i.e I need earlier date, how do I go about applying for US visa, I have a letter of invitation, I should get the visa etc. most of this questions can be answered easily.
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by groovychik(f): 10:00pm On Apr 30, 2019
if you had kept a distance how would people like me that you helped learn? My own issue is people come here asking questions and then not share their transcripts for others to learn. How selfish

seyewest:
Bro you get time.... @LadyG approach is what I admire the most, she's on observation mode now and I realized it's better to keep quiet and maintain good distance on this forum.

Exactly, the truth is bitter and I will rather be told the truth than be given false hope.

OmoBendel24:
All he thinks of is just the “try-your-luck” approach like many others, and by the time you tell them the blunt truth, all the demons will rally round them in an attempt to ridicule you. But they lie, we will keep punishing schemers, deceivers and liars with the truth! They enjoy bringing the country Nigeria and its people to disrepute for all their wrong and selfish reasons.... This one want to waste money if he doesn’t wait some good time and go back to the drawing board. He’s clearly just plain desperate if you go through his posts! Is it not the not-smiling US Embassy we are even talking of here?
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by groovychik(f): 10:55am On Apr 30, 2019
People have gone for interviews with passports in their maiden name. A friend still got hers in March despite her passport being in her maiden name and had her marriage certificate as proof which they didn't ask of. Will let the pros here give their opinions. Best of luck.

jojogirlx:
Hello all, please i have this issue bothering me. I got married sometime in 2013. Did my change of name, NewsP Pub nd all that... But my passport expired January this year. I just renewed the passport(that is it still bears my maiden name) instead of doing a change of name. The reason was that i was informed i will have to go to Abuja and it would take a while to get and it cost 53k(of which i didn't have much money as at then and i needed to submit a Valid passport for an admission application which had a deadline of 7days). Am presently about to apply for a US VISA with my family. Pls my question is Would the different names on my recent documents affect my chances? Especially because i did a change of Name in 2013. Nd renewed IP 2019 nd yet i used the maiden name.

Has your status changed since last week? Somewhere on NL, you wrote you have not been working for 3 months. On Quora, I read that the more frequently you apply, the more you are seen as an immigration risk. However, we have also seen people that got their visas after two or three times. My advice would be to wait cos believe it or not, the VOs can sense desperation sometimes. Build up your profile, look for a job or start a business and keep enquiring about the UK Visa as you're already doing.

kuljiyke:
Good morning house
I was denied b1/b2 visa last week can I reapply for another one this week although I told them I will be going on vacation, I need your advice

You are a breath of fresh air. May the Universe align in your favour and best of luck in your interview

sharwama:
Hey fada!
Who am I that thou should mention my name amongst gods? Me that has never been to the embassy(my interview is imminent shaaa)
Texrem has probably gone to the inner sanctum to prepare for times like this, so please send a message.
Fair heart is the master, send a message. When you knock properly, he opens.
I also want you to know that "gurus" are busy, you have to be persistent with your request so they can "squeeze" you into their schedule.
Go to the mountain my friend, it would probably not come to you.
May the force be with you!

No one on this forum owns the other advice. People have different experiences and provide advice based on what they know or have experienced. This is not a place to sing kumbaya where people will tell you that every applicant will get a visa. The truth sometimes is bitter and harsh. If you have an issue with the quality of advice here just say thank you or keep it moving. I prefer the truth than false hope. However, I always advice people to avoid this thread few days to their interview cos it can mess with your head. I also know no one hear gains anything from the other getting a visa or being rejected and we should see advice here as humanitarian work

Sasorah:
True, sometimes the information here can mislead people a also discourage them, sometimes i wonder if they work in the embassy, there's one that always talk about traveling to different countries outside Africa. So that means if you have no travel history then no visa for you lol. Everyone has different purpose for traveling so i hope no one will get a panic attack because of what some nairalanders say. Good luck to everyone who applied for a visa. Be confident and make your purpose of traveling as clear as possible (except you intend to overstay) thank you smiley

Please share your transcript

Haysamo:
I was worried for nothing. I had no issue with the appointment. CGI have there own list to cross check. It was smooth. Thank for your response

Sorry to hear that please share your transcript

Startup00:
Hello guys, I was denied visa today but my parents were given. That was my piority and I’m happy they got it. I noticed 99% of all the young people I saw both married and single were denied only old people. For those who intend to go for their interview you guys should pray and hope for the best.

TravelRe: Oguta Wonder Lake Confluence Point by groovychik(f): 10:50pm On Apr 14, 2019
Am so happy to read about this. As a child my family was into exploring different places. We visited Oguta, entered a pontoon with our car that took us across the river and we stayed at Oguta motel, which I hear is now dilapidated. It was such a lovely place back in the days, had a beautiful golf course that my parents indulged in and even Ojukwu's bunker from the Nigerian civil war. We took a boat trip to see where Urashi, which is actually called Ulasi Okija and the blue lake meet. On our way we passed some a shrine and saw food items placed by people, then the strangest thing happened. The boat driver brought a coke bottle, put some water from the lake and when we got to the muddy looking ulasi part, he also added it to the bottle and asked us to watch. To our surprise they did not touch even inside the bottle and next thing the coke bottle broke. It was scary and beautiful. I told this story to my friends after our trip and non of them believed me. We sha could not wait to get back to our hotel cos we all were shaking and felt the lake would be angry etc. I am happy to see others have heard that and can confirm it ain't no myth.

Harbeeorlar:
But what some of the fishermen told me was that they dont mix and any attempt by anyone to splash water from one to the other at their meeting point has repercussion.

Check the embassies website for the email address

Pls can you adults end this childishness? You all do not have to RSVP to every fight or whenever your name gets mentioned. People come here for advice, some which answers a Google search will provide, its either you answer or ignore. No need making any one feel bad. You all should quit derailing this thread with your pettiness and go drink some water.

You need the receipt. Go to any GTB branch and ask them to print out a copy if the receipt

integriti:
good day all

i have an interview at the US embassy later this month, i don't have any receipt of payment because i did the transfer on a Gtb Mobile app, what i have is an appointment confirmation letter , showing the details of the appointment , and a section below that, titled MRV FEES PAYMENT, showing my confirmation number and the amount i paid, i want to find out if this is acceptable. thanks
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by groovychik(f): 1:49pm On Apr 08, 2019
Follow the instructions and no your interview date won't change. Only the ds160 number will change.

kuljiyke:
I also have issue like this and my interview is next two weeks, i already submitted my application what if I create a new application will my interview date change? please I need your help
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by groovychik(f): 9:08am On Apr 08, 2019
Click on the CEAC site, click on retrieve application, put in all the details plus security questions, a screen will pop up letting you know the form you are trying to retrieve has been submitted and giving you the option to view confirmation page or create new application. Click on create new application, correct what you need to correct etc and submit. You can then go to the profile on CGI and change the DS160 number. You have to do this not later than 72 hours before the interview. If your interview is far, still do it now. If you have issues changing the CGI number, send an email to support-nigeria@ustraveldocs.com and call the call centre from 9am weekdays on +234 1 227 8955. Explain the issue, they would change your appointment to reflect the new form number and send you an email. Voila

That's incorrect. If you do not know the answer to something, please do not give people wrong answers that will confuse them.

123JohnF:
Your mom can bring her documents, explanation letter and try to explain during her interview, ask the consular officer to correct. It's very hard to correct unless it's a minor mistake. If you try it before her interview, she will be denied automatically.

5 working days

Imbees:
Please how many weeks did it take for her to get her passport back from the Embassy for Dropbox
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by groovychik(f): 10:43pm On Mar 27, 2019
My Mum did her dropbox before her visa expired and it was issued. So I guess you can apply whenever you want as long as it does not exceed a year after expiration. Good luck.

icanfixitmyself:
Hello house, how do I apply for a renewal of my daddy's US visit visa? His current visa expires on 2nd of April...do I need to wait till the visa is expired b4 submission or I can go ahead with the submission via Dropbox right now?
Thank you all in advance of your kind advise...

Were you stamped in for 15 days or the normal six months?

Chukwuka16:
Many thanks to folks on this platform. I have gleaned alot from you guys who just post things freely that should cost money. May God almighty bless you guys abundantly. My recent POE was Boston, March 17 from LHR. The encounter was maybe 2mins.

CBP: stretches hand for passport
Me: hands passport with a hello.
CBP: what are you here for?
Me: workshop
CBP: how long?
Me: 5 or 6 days?
CBP: looks at me with that smh feeling (disclaimer: I was first tired and had to psychologically position myself to enjoy the mandatory workshop as I was supposed to be on holidays).
CBP: will 15days be okay for you?
Me: sure.
CBP: stamps passport and hands it over to me

I did notice that landing cards were no longer filled in flight. Seems alot has changed since 2016.
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 3 by groovychik(f): 10:38pm On Mar 20, 2019
If you are asked about the three months stay, please don't start talking about snowing for three months. You can tell them you stayed in the US for a longer period because you had just finished with school and had some time to relax and enjoy an extensive holiday, which is actually not a lie. Best of luck.

cris83:
No, as I stated earlier, it's a family business. I was studying for my masters in Ghana when I got my first visa in 2014 so once I was done, I took the trip and as I said it snowed like crazy where I was that time such that my uncle who I stayed with refused to let me travel back until the weather was better as he would have had to drive me to the airport and its an 1h 20mins drive. Agreed it was a stretch, but I filled that when I did Dropbox for the second visa (2016) and it was renewed. This is my third renewal that had m stuck with 221g and my last trip (last year) was just 4weeks.
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 3 by groovychik(f): 11:53pm On Mar 11, 2019
Thank you.

OmoBendel24:
The OP can actually use that visa to arrive at a US POE up until 13th of May I think or even 14th without issues especially if he has previously used it for the purpose for which it was first issued. It's however up to the CBP officials to determine whether to let him in or not, and for how long too. He could get the standard 180 days still despite his visa just having a few hours to expire as at time of being stamped in, it's normal. Overstay officially is when you do a minute more than the number of days the CBP officer stamped you in for if you didn't apply for extension (you fall out of status immediately and the visa in your passport even if it has more time to expire actually becomes cancelled) and you earn yourself a 3 years ban, if you do more than 365 days you get a 10-year ban. Do note that you can be stamped in for as short a time as the officer determines to be appropriate too.
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 3 by groovychik(f): 5:24pm On Mar 11, 2019
Get a new visa. If you overstay your current visa, you can kiss America goodbye for a long long long time

crisycent:
Good day all. Please I need help with this. I have a valid visitors visa. It will expire on 14th of May 2019.

I have an important event to attend in the US on May 10th and will spend at least 3 weeks.

Should I renew my visa or travel with my current visa?
