I want to know, please when does a bridal shower take place before traditional marriage or after traditional marriage. or is it the new name for white or church marriage?
it seems I am falling behind all these new trends in marriage.

now we see things like pre-wedding photo shot and now bridal showers.

please someone should clarify these modern wedding traditions. because I would soon be participating in this entertainment and I don't want to be seen as JJC.

the recurrent expenditures (not debt) from my observation is almost equal to the budget deficit. which implies the less recurrent the government can save the less deficit the budget gets.

this is where Buhari personality faces the test of integrity.

RomanceGays And Lesbians: Repite For Same Sex Couple In 2017 Constitution Review by gsainttrinity(op): 6:51pm On Dec 11, 2016
The Nigerian constitution is expected to undergo amendment in 2017

- The House of Representative promised to work on it quickly so as to allow the president assess it

The National Assembly has said that the issue of same sex marriage and the economy will be considered in the constitution to be presented in 2017.

Vanguard reports that Yussuf Lasun who is the deputy speaker of the House of Representatives and chairman of the House Ad-Hoc committee on constitution amendment said the new process will be flexible so that President Muhammadu Buhari will have time to review it.
Lassun spoke at the opening ceremony of a working session/retreat of the House Committee on Constitution review in Abeokuta where he emphasized that the issue of same sex marriage and creation of more local governments will be feature well.

He said: “It pleases me to inform you that the Committee has been working tirelessly to ensure that the Fourth Alteration Bill is given speedy passage and subsequent assent by the President.”
“We will round off our work between February and March (next year) to give the President ample time to go through the amendment for his assent.
“In order to make the amendment process more flexible and practicable, the 4th Alteration Bill has been segmented into 14 Bills and we are presently considering over thirty (30) Bills referred to the Committee by the 8th Assembly.
“Having considered the reasons why the Alteration Bill in the 7th Assembly was declined by the President, we have decided that the process should commence de-novo and fast-tracked to ensure a timeous passage of the Bills.
“Some contemporary issues for constitutional review are the issues of legalising same sex marriage which has been the subject of debates in several jurisdictions of the world.

Nairaland General5 Ways To Reverse Nigeria From Economic Recesion To Economic Boom by gsainttrinity(op): 1:29am On Oct 18, 2016
Reversing the current Nigerian economic quagmire must go beyond politics and ethnicity it is a very desperate situation that the country has found itself and desperate times many would say requires desperate measures. Therefore it is time for the government and its entire officials to roll up their sleeves and tighten their belts for the enormous task ahead.
Without wasting much time, I have compiled a list of five(5) must do things if Nigeria is to come out of recession in the shortest possible time.

1 Determination:
The government of Buhari needs to show more commitment not just in words but in action toward steering the economy away from hardships being currently experienced in Nigeria. The government would be assumed to show increased determination when it will first and foremost declare an economic emergency on the economic situation with intention to providing urgent solutions.

The government would also be assumed to show increased determination when it starts to implement policies that would cut down
A: bottlenecks, administrative log jam with a reduced authorization command chain Government bottlenecks must be eliminated, unending protocol should be resolved to make way for snappy and quick decision making. Chains of command must be compacted to make delivery of service fast and efficient. One way in my opinion is to compact all similar MDA’s into a single Agency example like the way he bundled up three ministries into a single ministerial portfolio which Mr. Raji Babatunde Fashola is currently handling and I must confess has been quite successful.
In light of this there should be instead – Agency for law enforcement and domestic security, which would see the Nigeria Police force, Nigeria civil defense, road safety, road safety etc been placed under a single portfolio even if their functions and responsibilities are independent, it would still be more productive if one can get a quick command and organizational response to situation based on the fact that their organizational framework is organized into a common unit.
The same can be said if we had - Agency for transport management and regulation, Agency for infrastructure development and maintenance and so on.
B- Management of resources, government budgets must be spared excesses, high overhead cost or recurrent expenditures. Ephemeral like oversea training, medicals, constant procurement of stationery, and reduction (as explained earlier), of over bloated government agencies that often mirror the duties of each other. Although I must accept the success recorded so far in this regard by the Buhari government but I must advice that such steps must be norm and not the exception. That is these moves must be prioritized and made more widespread and taken more seriously.
C- Value for Money (efficiency personified): one notorious characteristic of Nigeria Ministries, Departments and Agencies is a reputation for gross negligence for their duties, nonchalance, inefficiency, low value service output, corruption and a total systems rot. If we must come out of our economic doldrums in a short while, this deficiency must be corrected with a sense of urgency. I know many might be confused as to what is the correlation between how civil service duties affect the economy.
This arm of government functionality accounts for more than 70 percent of all our government budgetary investment and input. And secondly this unit is generally responsible for the design, monitoring, and implementation of the remaining 30 percent (if it’s even up to) investment in other infrastructural and economy boosting projects. As many are aware of, the Government is still the highest spender in our economic landscape. Therefore is safe to assume that the MDA’s is at the core of all economic activities in Nigeria, and a deficiency in this sector generally affects the economy in more ways than one may assume. If this malady is allowed to persist, we would un-doubtfully see all government projects compromised and all its intervention efforts come to naught with outcomes ever meeting the desire or intended purposes.

For Nigeria to come out of this present economic recession in shortest possible time, this second point is a necessity

2: Aggressive foreign exchange earnings:

with oil accounting for over 90 percent of all our income or foreign exchange receipts, it is no-brainer that the disruption in the price of that commodity must have profound impact in the economy. When other factors are considered, like the fact that Nigeria is major net importer of all its needs, from Agricultural products to machinery which puts a heavy strain in our national income and for the fact that the country has not really have a big savings portfolio, neither does it have lucrative investments or assets we can assume that situation is dire.
In spite of all these gloom, the positive is the fact that the country is blessed with abundant natural resources, raw materials including agricultural products which can be easily exported in both small and large quantities for foreign exchange. The shortage of foreign exchange is the main reason why the recession is biting harder than it should and citizens must take the bull by the horn to meet our foreign exchange demands by cutting down our dependence on imported products and aggressively chasing a foreign exchange regime.
We can start from export of agricultural products like foodstuffs to our highly populous Diaspora community since almost every household have one or two relative who is resident outside the shores of this country mostly in the western nations, we must find a way to sell to them their much missed local foodstuffs and spices or products and services. These set of people are already very used to our products, therefore we must adopt an approach that encourages small to medium quantity exports of these materials as these would easily get past border scrutiny and go pass all limiting commercial export restrictions in place by many countries.
The government has a role to play in making this option very effective by establishing small export processing points in every local government area in the country as this would simplify the process for small and medium exporters in our rural areas, small towns and cities. These export points must be easily accessible, efficient, cheap and easy to use, like a one stop shop for small export packages where goods can be checked, evaluated, packaged and prepared for export and even with provision of transport mechanisms and couriers.
Quota should be allocated as criteria for importation especially by the big time importers which will see them substituting a percentage of their import bill with their export earnings.
Incentives should also be provided to encourage people adopt the method as a means of survival, the drive for small time exporters must be the focus and their participation encouraged. Other aspects that involve the export value chain, like process for owning a domiciliary account must be relaxed and effectively adjusted to reflect government seriousness. And all those who have succeeded in earning foreign exchanges must be encouraged to save their income in the foreign currency they have earned. Taking this approach will effectively reduce the pressure for foreign currency from this sector of the economy, which in my opinion is the most vulnerable.

The 3rd (third) step:

Is a massive skill acquisition establishment. The government is already doing a lot in that regard already so I would not be dwelling much on this aspect. My advice is for the process to be hastened and effectively managed to produce a very equipped individuals who can boast of providing world class products and services as this is the bedrock of any envisaged economic growth.
The process must be continuous and incorporated into our national scheme of things with proper recognition of its importance as a strategic tool for beating the economic recession.

The 4th (fourth) step:
Strategic Government Investment- One positive I must applaud was the sense of investing strategically. There was the very serious investment project like the Nigerian Mortgage and refinancing project and other housing projects, the Fadama Agricultural projects and establishment of free trade zones like the one being commissioned for construction in Delta state. These were very important steps the former government took that are very impressive. I am not saying that these projects are dead in this present Government but I am sure of is that the tempo or importance that this government have placed on such projects are now drastically reduced.
If this administration is very serious which I assume they are in taking us away from economic recession, these project must be re-energized with a high level of priority placed on it.
It is well known fact that one of the most positive investment projects anyone can undertake is the investment in real estate or Housing as its value hardly ever depreciates. When the federal or a state government involves it policies around providing affordable housing and real estate, it would have been able to lift the quality of life of those who have been opportune to get their homes in effect, poverty have been reduced and recession reduced and the government would have been able to invest in a project where its return in investment is guaranteed unlike in the case where it has invested in projects that have provided little investment returns and large investment devaluation with time.
Another critical investment is Agriculture, this is so important we cannot over emphasize on its relevance. From food security, to increased employment opportunity, and foreign exchange earning opportunity and availability of raw materials, it is wise to give this very important aspect a critical investment consideration.
For a short term and immediate outcome in economic turnaround, investments in housing/mortgage and agriculture is a must do.

The 5th (fifth) step- Long term infrastructure development plan:

As I composed this article, I came across a new article which stated that the federal government has concluded plans to establish Nigerian Development Bank. After reading that news item I became optimistic that the government was at least moving in the right direction although at a pace many Nigerians may not be too patient with but the most encouraging fact is that we are heading in the right direction. So what is the fuse about the establishment of this institution some might want to ask? We all are aware that no countries economy prospers in comatose infrastructure, so as a matter of fact any economy that wants properity must do that on a bedrock of quality infrastructure facilities like power, transport facilities, utilities like portable water, efficient communication facilities but one drawback with the procurement of these important facilities, is that they are very expensive to have. In fact if Nigeria was dedicate all its earnings into infrastructure development, it will still be decades before we can boast of decent infrastructures therefore one of the easy ways to go about this problem is dedicate a mechanism were loans are obtained and channeled solely for the purpose of infrastructural developments. In my opinion, large loans should be negotiated with little commitment as possible and flexible long term payback term and these funds channeled exclusively for building of roads, bridges, rails, airports, power generating and distributing stations, potable water and modern communication equipment installations.
If all these few steps are followed to the later with a heart full of zest and determination, it will just be a matter of months that we may be this strained economically and it will mark the beginning into our journey of economic revolution and prosperity.

Seeing the way the country is going, it will not be long before we start experiencing what happened in The Biblical Isreal during the times of Prophet Elijah Where some women organized to eat their children.

Yes O the economy of Nigeria is that Bad!

But what is worse is directionlessness of GENERAL CASSANDRA's government in tackling the economic situation.

Even we know the problem quite predated this government, the lack of procedure to keep it under control is to say the least frightening.

With this I say the Nigerian people should rise and fight for their country. Stop waiting for any Government because they all will fail you totally.

Nigeria during the times of Goodluck Jonathan was like a child suffering from chronic diarrhea but the Government of the GEJ for also on an intensive feeding regime.

What it means is that, when corruption, wasteful management, lack of solid economic foundation was draining the country, Jonathan's government was busy pumping more monies to be stolen and misappropriated.

And now in this Era of Buhari, there seems to be no Money to carry on the intensive feeding program and even if there was indeed money, Buhari was never intending on allowing the massive appropriation for massive looting and wastages, but what Buhari is NOT doing which should be blocking all avenues of leakages will eventually kill this metaphorical child NIGERIA that is suffering from this chronic economic diarrhea.

Buhari's supporters should not be deceived by the constant News headlines filling up every news paper pages recently of Top Government Officials of mostly past Governments facing one corruption charges or the other which at the end of the day ends up without convictions.

Corruption in Nigeria is much more rooted in a systematic manner, it is deeply ingrained into the fiber of our National consciousness, So it would need much more than persecuting a Handful of top officials to rid the country of corruption.

In the midst of failed economic realities, Buhari's government must NOT fail in righting the wrongs of this country corruption-wise, and installing the much needed discipline the nation needed and it is in this light, all rational Nigerians would judge the performance of his government whether its performance was Good or Poor!

In very Lucid terms, I want to spell out that what Nigeria NEEDs from this government is

1: Corruption should be made a capital crime with very severe punishment for offenders.

Jail terms of more than 10 years must be made law enforced.

It is high time we started seeing governors go to jail for abusing their official positions for financial gains or other wise.

CORRUPTION is killing Nigeria!

Corruption is abuse of position authority, and as an act, it must carry a jail term!

Nigeria is trying to fight corruption from the more technical angle of "Money laundry" which in my opinion is not working!

Corruption does not have to get to massive laundry cases before we can consider it corrupt.

The mere attempt once it can be proven should be enough reason to go to jail.

This my fellow country people would be the final solution to Corruption as we know it.

2: Nigeria needs to be restructured into truly independent federating entities especially when it comes controlling and managing their resources and having local police system.

It generally absurd to give a state constitutional powers to make law and take away the powers to enforce their laws within their jurisdiction.

If Buhari Aka General Cassandra can manage to do these two things before the expiration of his tenure, he would be on his way to becoming what NELSON MANDELA was to South Africa.. Other wise! .. Hmmmmmm... Let's watch and see!

The opposite of LOVE is not HATE, but indifference.

How can be indifferent? You have to forgive first from the bottom of your heart.

Reassure yourself that you were kind and good but they repaid your kindness for evil but you still wish them all the best.

If you read Bible.. You would have know how Joseph reacted to his brothers that sold him to slavery.. That's true Moving forward.

DO NOT DENY YOUR LOVE FOR THEM!!!

This is one of the major reason why people who have been jilted or betrayed hurt.
They begin to hate the offender.

I started to tell myself that I truly love her. That if not for these specific problem I would gladly Spend my life with her.

Doing this Made me realize that the problem is not the affection but lifestyle choices.

I made sure I tell her from the bottom of my heart how much I love her.

And next time when I saw those text I tell myself it is not my fault, that IF she really wanted my love she would be exclusive. The burden became lighter as I did this.

ALWAYS LOVE THEM

Keep loving them even though they had hurt you.
Because true love does not exist for a reason and No reason actually can stop. Maybe that's why Jesus died for Us because that's a typical explanation for true love.

But since we are Human and not Jesus, its very Unreasonable to die for anyone for the purpose of love. Therefore, know that Loving someone genuinely Is not a prerogative to be in a Hurtful relationship

As a matter of fact, LOVE and relationship are two mutually exclusive phenomenon as you can be in a lifetime relation without feelings of the butterfly LOVE, what you need is mutual Respect and a sense of responsibility like those needed for a successful business partnership. As you can also be in love without settling in a relationship or sexual interaction as Real Love is not sex, neither is it a contract for relationship it is just a strong natural affinity for someone mostly not of your making.

KNOW WHAT YOU WANT

I was able to define what I wanted for a relationship and I was clear about it.
Everyone in a relationship or hoping to be in one should be able to sincerely list the minimum attitude they expect from their partners. Doing this would reduce cluelessness as it would help you to strive towards achieving what you want and if you can't achieve it with your present relationship, it would help you to dismount and opt for a more rewarding one that would meet all your expectations.

Having understood all these, I was able to call her one day and ask her do you see Us getting married, seeing I don't have a really well paying job, and knowing How girls of your age are really the hot cake in the marriage market?

Her simple answer was 'NO'

I thank God I was able to work on myself to control whatever passion I had for her I wonder what I may do to myself if I did not discipline myself in this respect.

Well I am currently with a lady who ticks every box in what I want in a woman I would be in a relationship with and surprisingly I don't feel anxiety, or paranoia.
I feel relaxed and confident which what a relationship should bring to our lives.

Well this has been my short journey so far ladies and gentlemen I hope this inspired you to take your relationships in your hand and stop being depressed over one jerk or bitch who does not deserve your commitment in the first place.

RomanceRe: MY DIARY: When Love Is Not Enough by gsainttrinity(op): 8:55am On Jul 01, 2016
There was no doubt she loves me but I discovered she had other admirers and she receives lots of flirty text from other guys. And I also get gossips that other guys do see her.

And secondly, she was hardly my dream girl. I discovered we had very little in common.
Her lifestyle, (not a negative one though) was a bit not what I really wanted

But to be honest, I really did not care, but from my rational mind I was afraid if I wouldn't suffer more especially when she decides to take advantage of my feelings for her

Now the problem is not that I am insecure, the problem is that there Is a high tendency of being heart broken and considering the level at which I love her, I was afraid I wouldn't take a heartbreak in the usual ways most people would.

So I started thinking of the most brutal thing any Man can think of

"TO KILL LOVE"

I had to start learning the ropes to start Unloving her if possible or scale it down to the barest minimum.

This fight was one of the most defining moments of my life.
It taught me so much about the nature of love.

At first I scaled down communication.. But this method did little or nothing as I would hurt from not speaking with her and when ever she calls, there goes my resolution. This method failed at first

I started finding faults to leave her. The more I found the more it hurt me and Ironically I dare not even think of breaking up because the pain was too much

My saving grace in all these was that she didn't deliberately wanted to leave me and was not even ready to call it quits and many times she had pretended as if she did not know what I was up to.

But the risk of Living all my life with Someone I had this enormous amount of Love for was too scary for me.

I called her one day and practically called it off!! And in the next second I was back on telling her I was joking!

Her accommodating lifestyle to other guys continued as I come to realize, she was not ready to exclusively date me as I would normally see extremely flirtatious text between her and other guys and this spurred me in my quest to "MURDER LOVE". But how to go about it was a problem.

Mind you I did not find others girls attractive during this period and falling in love with another girl to act as diversion was not even remotely possible.

So that brings me to the only way out, Which I think would be very valuable to all Lovers who had ever been heart broken, betrayed or cheated on.

.

The year I graduated, was the year I encountered true Love.

She was the sister of a friend whose wife put to bed.
I liked her, she was fair and beautiful and I used to flirt with. We exchanged numbers and then I would call her and then later it became regularly and even more regular.
And then I started visiting her often but then I did not know how involved I had gotten with her until a buddy of Mine called me and asked me the question that changed my life forever.

"Guy what's Up with you and Faith. I always see you around her you don't seem to let her rest"

My reply. "Bro that girl is the Love of my life"

From the moment I made this statement, my whole being changed. My notion about her transformed, my Agenda somersaulted.

I fell deeply and truly in love with her.

Since I never had any chances with my previous CRUSH'ES I never could tell if what I had for them was LOVE and if it could be as strong..

I so much love her, thinking about her makes me unable to breath properly. She practically filled up everything space in my heart

I cried for the first time for a girl because of her, not because she hurt me but because I couldn't stop thinking about her.

Infact, it came to a point where my love for her became a pain to me.

When I am with her, I felt so much Joy but when I am away I would become depressed.

One thing about me is that I like being rational

With the level of love I had for faith it came to me if she ever hurt me, I would not think twice before I hurt myself fatally.

My Next experience was when I entered higher institution. And this would be one of the most catastrophic in my Journey of Love.

From my first day or not exactly but the earliest Moments in the school, I saw her; Fair, tall, intelligent, beautiful with a good smile to cap it all and I instantly fell heads over heels in love with her.

And just like my previous CRUSH experience my Liver failed me.

And like before I had girls all over me. One even attempted to kiss me in full view of everyone in our lecture Hall and being the introvert that I am, I nearly melted but that was not the worst. My CRUSH was a MEMBER of our department!!

I was so much into this girl, I practically dream of her every night. I saw her in everyone that looked liked her.
But to walk up to her and just say my mind was like death sentence

I managed to get close to her, like platonic friends and when ever I was near her, my heart would be doing 200km/hr race and I have not even attempted talking to her.

What I did was remove her from my Wanted list. Till today she didn't know I would Die to have her as my Lover!

And that was how I lost the second person I ever wanted so much in my life.

It was during this period I had sex with one of the most unloved girl in all my life. Till today I ask myself WHY?

Reason was that she was easy to get, I was carefree because she didn't mean anything to me.

And the same can be said for subsequent girls after her.

I remember on girl who always like to claim be my wife.

What it implies was that I barely needed to woo women but until I fell in 'love' with my secondary school crush. It was so serious I saw her in my dreams and sometimes I prayed God should do miracles that would make me have her in my Arms....
But I was unable to approach her!!!

This happened until our final days in secondary school.. This was the first time I ever had this butterfly feeling called Love in the real sense of it And I did not have the opportunity to experience a true relationship with someone I truly love.

During this period thou I experimented with sexuality thou I did not really had intercourse but my Fingers had already felt what Heaven was like. This is just to put the record straight I was not living a depressed life only that Courage failed me when I needed it the most.
RomanceMY DIARY: When Love Is Not Enough by gsainttrinity(op): 12:39am On Jul 01, 2016
This my real life story about love and the journey I took to understanding it.

I hope my experience would help others understand and make better decisions about their Emotions towards themselves and others.

My Emotional awareness started way back when I was 8 years old or there about in primary school. It was in primary 5 where I had a female friend by name IRIS, she was the daughter of a newly transferred teacher to our government owned primary school.

We immediately liked each other. She allowed me sat with her in her seat, borrowed her TeXt books.. Since at that period, many of Us who attended government primary school in the 90's would understand if you don't own a seat, you will seat on the floor, and you will be flogged continually as if its your fault your parent couldn't afford to get you the basic learning materials. Any ways we were very close and because of that, her mum took to liking me and I was even invited to their home several times during this period.

I had a big Crush, or feelings the type I would call LOVE for this girl.. Or maybe 'NOT'

This lasted until after our Common entrance exams which saw the end of our primary education. We barely saw after our graduation save for a few days when we were in J.s.s I (we attended different schools) which marked the last I ever saw or heard of Her! Until this very moment.

Many times I do recall our experience together and I still wish I could see her again.

To be continued .....

I would be pasting this story in batches.

Enjoy
