In all my dealings with Nijja, I can tell you, 0.01%.
They fraudster will usually come and say things like God this and God that, not the God I worship bla bla bla.
Then they disappear and when you catch they enjoying your money, you hear: Oga na the work of Devil!

When you give jobs and engage with professionals, do things according to the books and pay the right fees, I tell you IT'S 0.01%

When for example, someone tells you he/she will build your bore-hold with immersible pump at Naira 50,000 and you quickly award the contract, who is dishonest you!
You're probably not going to have the job done or you will be drinking someone's number 2!

I have been living abroad since 1999 but I know so many very honest people and professionals in Nigeria.

Here on the Property Section of Nairaland: Spyder, Segcy.Moor, Aventure, Muyesky and many many others have very clear and proven record of honesty!!! I take the pain to follow ALL their projects and research what the standard practice should be.
Try doing that also please.

The guy handling my projects is NOT on Nairaland and he is very honest Professional!
There are so many others like him but ofcourse, some 0.01% are bad and you have to make it clear to everyone and NOT generalize.

It is the duty of the government to arrest and prosecute people who put lives at risk by doing jobs that they are not qualified or even doing it in such a way that lives are at risk.
We shouldn't expect the victims to bear all the frustration and then the responsibility of prosecution!

Dayoagboola: He didn't plead guilty going by that statement. He mentioned "intention not to defraud". That's a big thing in courtroom and judges look at that a lot. If I'm wrong, lawyers in the house can correct me please. There's even force majeure in law. Even if he pled guilty, he can't still change his plea. I'll expect Brabus to come out here and give his own side of the story and allow public court to judge. He still has the right to be heard in this situation. He's well aware by now that his post yesterday cannot mitigate the damage as he thought. I hope he can salvage what's left of his reputation.

In boxing (like in construction) you have a choice:
1- knock out your opponent and claim victory (meaning: just build the house as per contract)
OR
2- Allow the 3 referees to judge who scored more points (using wrong size of blocks for foundation, buying cheap or not buying materials as agreed etc) then you start hearing: I said , she said, he said.
If you are the owner of the property, you really don't want that crap! right

There are many good builders here on Nairaland who build '100% live' including expenditure, cost of labour, right down to the pure-water they bought.
This is what I am saying loud and clear and I wouldn't mention any name any more so as not to appear biased.

The client is unhappy with his contractor and you(gtrust) is stylishly advertising segcy.moor.

GTrust & Segcy.Moor are NOT the same & NOT related!
Only common denominator is that Segcy.Moor is Nigerian and I am originally Nigerian (if you know what I mean)
Segcy.Moor lives in Lagos Nigeria and I visit Nigeria maximum 6weeks per annum.
He is a rich guy but I don't classify myself in terms of rich or poor.
He is a Good Builder but I invest in Buildings everywhere including Nigeria & my profession is far far from building/construction or things like that!
He is probably APC but I love President Jonathan so much!!!!

My interest: Property section of Nairaland since 2009.

There was a project in Portharcourt and the owner was asking questions in Nairaland.
Next thing Brabus was in Portharcourt doing that project and next thing he messed it up so badly
It was Segcy.Moor that discovered the error/fault and told the world.
Brabus started disputing and when the experts in the house supported Segcy.Moor, Brabus accused a sub-contractor

During this project I did not comment until after he finished the 'carcass' and I did congratulate him for a job well-done. right

Now, I honestly feel for the owner of this Chateau and I pray God helps him!

However, there are many honest builders on Nairaland: Segcy.Moor, Spyder, Aventure and many other top guys I just can't remember on top of my head.
The guy doing my projects is NOT on Nairaland and really doesn't want to. He has alot of jobs already and he's ok.
But many Diaspora-people follow this property section and I don't want them to start thinking ALL Nigerians are like this as I know it is NOT true!
Many Nigerians are very Honest and Hard Working.

Otherwise, I am the ONLY GTrust!

Seycy.moor sometimes is too abrupt, very direct. But the owner of the project will NOT understand exactly what he is saying.

By packaging, I mean: taking your time to explain to the owner and using aids like pictures, 3D drawings, some evidence based explanation.
Breaking down the explanation in such a way everybody will be clear on what is going on.

I know Segcy.Moor is already doing most of what I have said above but try and refine it more and ALSO remember most of us are NOT builders so bring your explanations to our level. Yes, use your technical words but explain and show some patience! na wetin I mean be that oh...

I think what Seycymoor meant is that Brabus has done the 'carcass' which is the complex part and where builders and project managers actually officially and unofficially make their money.


At this stage you cannot fumble because everybody knows how much casement windows cost or the cost of glazed tiles etc.
If you are in Nigeria and you have the time, you can practically complete this stage yourself.
The suppliers of those materials will recommend good tilers, painters, someone to hang your doors or windows etc.

As for Brabus, I don't know oh!!!!!!!!! no comment there.

spyder880: Its recent, I actually stopped working there since early August. Was very painful leaving childhood friends and colleagues after 21 years of continuous service. My boss refused to accept my earlier resignation letter, he said I can have another leave for a month and if I still want to work in the company, I can continue. He tore the first resignation letter. I wrote and submitted another letter on the 5th of September and it was finally accepted with an official company letter dated the 25th of September 2013.

bloggernaija: Prof. Chinua Achebe got it all wrong from the title of his latest infamous book “There Was A Country”, right down to the contents. This has expectedly generated a lot of controversies capable of dividing us more than it will unite us. If the foundation is crooked, what should we expect of the structure put atop it? Papa Achebe apparently is still getting carried away by his dream of Biafra so much that he forgot that Biafra is a country that never was.

There was an attempt by the Eastern Region of Nigeria to secede, that attempt did not materialize, the leaders of the rebellious region surrendered, so there was never a country. If a celebrated scholar like Prof. Chinua Achebe believes in his heart that Biafra ever was, then it is easy for us to deduce the quality of the remaining content of the book. It is apparent that it is going to be nothing but Biafra-centric. Like many other writers that have weighed in on the Nigerian Civil War, we know that people will write from their own perspective and their opinion would be colored in most cases by wherever their hearts lie.

Let us examine certain areas from the book that have generated much furor in the polity.

When it comes to how Ojukwu starved his own people to death, by admission of Achebe himself, this is how Rudolf Okonkwo one of the reviewers of the book puts it “Achebe argues that some questions will be debated for generations. One of such questions has to do with the security reasons behind Ojukwu’s rejection of Nigeria’s federal government’s proposal for a road corridor for food and the federal government’s rejection of Ojukwu’s alternative”

When it comes to rejection of Ojukwu’s alternative by the Federal Government of Nigeria, Prof. Achebe was quoted as follows:

”It is my impression that Awolowo was driven by an overriding ambition for power, for himself and for his Yoruba people. There is, on the surface at least, nothing wrong with those aspirations.

“However, Awolowo saw the dominant Igbos at the time as the obstacles to that goal, and when the opportunity arose–the Nigeria-Biafra war–his ambition drove him into a frenzy to go to every length to achieve his dreams. In the Biafran case it meant hatching up a diabolical policy to reduce the numbers of his enemies significantly through starvation — eliminating over two million people, mainly members of future generations.”

This is a wonderful peek into the Biafra centric frame of mind of a man that wrote that attack. So the federal government of Nigeria actually made a proposal for a road corridor for food to the starving women and children of Biafra and Ojukwu rejected it for “security reasons”? That does not really sound like a people with genocidal intentions to me, ask Rwandans if you care to know more on genocidal intentions. Was the Nigerian government not entitled to its own security by making sure that arms were not imported as food supplies? When it comes to Chief Obafemi Awolowo and General Gowon and their security reasons, Achebe quickly concluded that it was “genocidal” and when it comes to Ojukwu, it will only “be debated for generations.” By the way, do beggars really have a choice? You started a war and you are dictating to your opponent on how he can supply you food to sustain the war against him? Did Prof. Achebe know that economic blockade is actually a legitimate weapon of war? It is even used in peace time.

Note that this came from Achebe himself in the same book that he has accused Chief Awolowo of genocide, how more ridiculous could the accusation get? I have deliberately decided not to even look outside of the book to shoot down the deliberate and wicked lies of Prof. Achebe. Of course, there is a ton of information out there to make a lie from this assertion. The two sides according to him disagreed on how food should be supplied to the hungry children of war, but Awolowo ‘a bloody civilian’ in the midst of the Army Generals is the Grinch that stole Christmas, he must be blamed for genocide. Good try Professor, but teacher don’t teach me nonsense!

I am seriously not bothered by the latest outburst of Prof. Achebe against Chief Awolowo. Antagonizing the Yoruba and anything not Igbo has been his past time. He is one of the same persons that lent their false intellectual support to the phantom carpet crossing in the old Western Region house. He expressed dissatisfaction with Wole Soyinka’s winning the Nobel Prize and has always had contempt for anything not originating from the east side of the Niger river. I know that for a man who has been writing fiction books for over 50 years of his life, and has milked one fiction book for the better part of his life, it may have become difficult for him to differentiate between fact and fiction. But I am concerned with how his latest work would affect the already very fragile nation both in content and timing. One would have thought that a man of 81 would have grown beyond the prejudices he has carried in his heart for over 40 years.
