Pierocash: Mr Lai Mohammed, nobody is justifying the killing of security agents, but however, there is what is called "causality" in philosophy, that is "cause and effect".
You can't thread the den of a lion and not expect some consequence. The murder of security agents, looting ,and vandalism that took place was an aftermath and reprisal attack after the toll gate shooting of innocent protesters.
The protest was peaceful until you and your likes started sponsoring thugs to kill and attack protesters, the final stroke that broke the Carmel's back was the lekki shooting.
For every action, there is equal and opposite reaction God bless you. |

Even if you are blind which I think you are, someone must have told you there were live videos of people soaked in blood and some who appeared unconscious. I wonder if folks like you have their brains on their feet. Morons like you don't even realize soldiers should not be shooting at civilians in any shape or form. That is tyranny. Shooting in the air my foot, after they denied being there? Do you have any brains? |

Politics › Re: Lekki Shootings: CNN Vs BBC Video Report. Who Do You Think Gave A True View? by Guestlander: 5:08pm On Nov 19, 2020 |
Neddstark: There was shooting. Soldiers shot into the air but some silly ones may have fired whether intentionally or unintentionally into the crowd. But it was not a mass fire into the crowd, if it was DJ Switch will not be alive. It would have been a bloodbath. Some people died, many were injured. It was a tragedy. I am against the use of assault weapons to disperse a crowd. Sometimes it always ends fatal. Many of you are getting this wrong. Why are you making an excuse for something that is clearly wrong! Unintentionally shot into the crowd? Why would the army shoot at protesters? This is not normal, in some countries you don't even see members of the military on the streets not to mention shooting at their own citizens. The army lied at being there, then they came back and said they were there but shot only blanks, are we supid? |

Neddstark: BBC is way more reputable than CNN. CNN doesnt mind if the country implodes from spreading their con news. In fact, from conflicts like these they will make more and more news. No wonder Trump calls them Con News Network None of you have been able to tell us exactly what lies the CNN told. The Nigerian army, our own army said they were not there, all the videos of the event were fake, but it turns out they were actually there but shot "blanks" Now, who is lying? ashacot: Well, after both videos, I feel both have their report based on the availability of evidence present. That the BBC reporter said no one died at the lekki toll gate contradicts CNN report. But remember the BBC reporter said she was there for a little above 20mins. While CNN report said the Army shot for hours. The BBC report does not contradict anything. She described how she left the toll gate and what she saw. She couldn't possibly see everything that happened that night, that is why the report of other eyewitnesses are important. One thing is certain though, the army was there shooting at protesters and this is the main problem. |

chrisj2: You should have listened to the submission from the army guy at the panel. The organisers of the |Protest themselves knows that things were getting out of hand... The original protest was going to be dealt with (?). They now moved on to bad governance - not ideal! Some protesters might just be singing and waving flags but others were destroying things and causing havoc for other folks in Lagos especially, Police men were being killed, organised criminals and thugs were using the protest as cover... Etc etc
The most important reason why the army were called is because the original protest was against the Police so they cannot call the Police and after imposing a curfew, people still went out days before and beyond curfew time. No country in the world will allow protesters to destroy things and other people's livelihood.
Stopp telling us that all protesters are University graduates just singing and asking for whatever - it was a heady mix of people and even nice people do bad things when in bad company and when emotions carry them too far The protesters were peaceful until the army decided to shoot at them. Some prominent Nigerians even warned the government not to resort to violence but they still went ahead and shot at the protesters. The army lost credibility by first denying ever being there then followed by telling different lies which were promptly debunked. Let us even agree for the sake of an argument that some of the protesters were unruly is that a justification for the army to go there and randomly kill people? |

chrisj2: Thank you! I just posted something similar. Nigerian better be careful of what they are wishing for? We dont need foreign intervention from people that want to take us back as slaves - at least economic slaves... 70 odd million people still voted for Trump. Obama prosecuted so many wars and they do not keep tabs on body counts if you are foreign and from Africa.
And yes, CNN can also do hal;f-truths - they all do. I see them track the soldiers, they showed bullet casing and it was Serbian from 2005... They showed the same grainy video that is not exclusive and they think shots were fired at protesters - perhaps some useless soldiers fired bullets into the ground and that from above - how are we sure it is not blank. Lots of conjecture but not facts - we do not need CNN! Why would the army go there in the first place when the protesters were there singing and waving flags? Does that constitute a threat to anyone? Why would the army go there to shoot blanks? |

Even though I'm a born again Christian, I think I support such laws against blasphemy. President macron goofed by his Islamophobic actions and as Christians we must learn to respect other people's religious beliefs. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is so sacred to the Muslims just like our Lord Jesus christ is to we Christians. So we really need to be careful not to provoke the anger of Muslims. What do you have to say about Turkey's conversion of churches into mosques? Is that provocative enough for you? |

There's a reason the British came to Lagos first before coming to your village. |
Politics › Re: CNN Confirms That #EndSARS Lekki Massacre Happened by Guestlander: 11:23am On Nov 18, 2020 |
barragan: No where in the cnn report did they use the term massacre, because it won't only be wrong it would be misleading. This is so because a massacre means "the killing of a considerable number (usually limited to people) where little or no resistance can be made, with indiscriminate violence, without necessity, and contrary to civilized norms" and in a case where no mass killing has occurred using the term can only be due to ignorance or deliberate attempt at incitement, they know better than to make that mistake. There was this incident in the US a long time ago that is referred to as "the st. Valentine's day massacre" seven people were shot to death that day. Forget the semantics, if the Nigerian army can shoot at peaceful protesters with the intention of killing some of them to scare them off, it means something is seriously wrong with the country. Just like we practice pseudo federalism, we might be gradually descending into pseudo democracy. |
