Akata is a word formed by Yoruba or pidgin speaking Nigerian in describing African American (In U.S) because of their mannerism and attitude, it used to be a code word within the Yoruba speaking student in U.S in the 70's-80's. Akata can be akin to cat who walk gently and always grooming it self.
Invariably it's coined for racial disparity.

Nice you have combined fields for yourself up there. These days, stuffs that have to do with digital solutions and smart device fabrications will be an asset for you personally and to deploy industrially.

You may look at:

1. Industrial IoT in 4G and 5G environment towards smart manufacturing

2. Development of Flexible Smart home energy management systems

3. Email based remote access and surveillance system for smart home

4. Flexible Device fabrication for Industrial use such sensors, meters and readers

5. Designing self-destructing wireless sensors with security and performance assurance

6. A wireless sensor network-based monitoring system for fishpond aquaculture

7. A IOT based wireless sensor network for traffic information monitoring

8. Low cost smartphone diagnostics for food, medical and agricultural use.

9. Tools for water quality monitoring and mapping using paper-based sensors and cell phones

10. Smart phone based immunosensor for detection malaria, fever etc

All these are research needed in both developed and developing countries and will require both electrical and computer engineering skills which you already have.

Best wishes!
God bless you. You have exposed an interesting area where one can tackle, I mean, your 10 nuggets research area. Thanks once again.
Can you advise eminent research area for phase change, reactive and fluid transport problem, particularly, in wax growth.? I need your contribution to this area. Thank you.

Hi guys...in a dream I was walking heading up to a destination. Then I encountered muddy water along the way & lost one of my shoes (the shoe on my right leg). I looked for it in the muddy water but couldn't find it. Instead I saw other types of shoes in the muddy water but they didn't fit me. I now saw one shoe amongst this lot of shoes that fits my size very well when I put it on...only that it was a bit dented by the side of the shoe. I now said to myself that at least I will be able to continue my journey with this little dented shoe I found. What does this dream mean? Thanks.
The dream isn't a good one. It means that your destiny virtue as being stolen, and also has been exchanged for bad ones. Invariably, you are not secured for the journey ahead. This makes journey ahead go in circle just like wilderness journey.
The muddy water represent world of evil or hindrances being human manipulation.

Hi I just stumbled on this page, i have a few recent dreams that have been troubling my heart and i will need interpretation, please dont ignore. Heres one of them:
I was sitting among a small congregation in a hall. There was a mango tree beside it so after the sevice, a boy climbed up and was plucking mangoes for all who wanted. I went over n pleaded to him to pluck n throw to me, he did, two gigantic fruits that look like pawpaws, very succulent . But alas, as I kept them to adjust myself, an old wrinkly woman came from nowhere n wisked them away. Angrily, I chased after her, i was surprised how fast she ran. And in my minds subconscious(still in the dream), she was familiar, she was a known thief and i had seen her somewhere in my dream before. So i swore angrily at her as i chased her. Then at a time, she collapsed, tired, rotting already and breathing hardly. I bent over her, snatched my fruits from her and wanted to stab her with a knife, but i decided not to. Rather I cursed her "At your age, you still steal. You will never have peace, and you will die, a wretched death." In my mind she was too weak n would die in a few seconds anyway. As i started going on my way back, a voice suddenly spoke to me "You should have killed her." but i stubbornly defended myself , "She will die anyway".
Few days later, back in that same hall, a woman was sitting behind me with her kids and all of a sudden, she let out a cry. Everyone looked back in alarm and to my greatest surprise, what did I see? That same old woman had stollen yet again from somebody else n she was running away as the helpless woman kept shouting with her hand on her head. I then remembered at that point wat that voice has told me "You should have killed her." I became sad, shaking my head.
That was how I woke up, the dream was so precise. Please i need interpretation. Sorry for the long writeup.
Mind you, there are 2 important things my husband and I have been trusting God for.
Good that you recover the fruits from her. The fruit is blessing, promotion, increase etc, and the woman is your stronghold. Not killing her tells you she is most around, and she will still steal from you.

Help me tell him and the other guy that was saying publication is expected only during PhD. You have to demonstrate your research potential since undergraduate level. Only if many have known this, going for postgraduate studies would have been a bit easier. That’s what those school abroad appreciates. I have seen a friend with 2:1 and with two publications got a fully funded place in Canada. That you have completed your MSc and have no publication is a red flag for advancing into PhD.
Bro, it is just an applause to having two publications but not a yardstick. There will always be a way to make selection tougher, that was what ptdf have done.

Again no vex I misunderstood u

In a situation whereby you are not already employed in the oil and gas industry and still looking forward to a good job, I think it will not be a bad idea to get a good job oversea. Moreso, your family back home and your country at large stand to benefit at long run. just my thnikng.
Bro, frankly speaking, government fund is not spent that way, if not because the way the country is being ran and ruined. Every scholars are expected to return and help develop in their area of specialty. Unfortunately, it looks like an opportunity to escape rudiment of poor governance.

Haba bros!!! So an official ceremony to celebrate annual scholarships of hundreds of students is going to help develop the country in what way?
When ptdf started sending students abroad ptdf collects CV of its scholars esp those that came home with outstanding results for offers in ministry of Petroleum and NNPC. But as time passed they became overwhelmed by the number of scholars, most do not return immediately after d scholarship, it was not until 2011 when UK placed a ban on obtaining residents visa after schooling that most students had to come home at d expiration of their study visa that most scholars even came back to nigeria.
It's like asking d govt to give u a job after NYSC, we all know very well that in the past our parents got job offers and even beetle cars upon completion of NYSC, but graduates are everywhere now and there aren't slots for these thousands of graduates.
Are u now saying that ptdf shouldn't sponsor more candidates abroad just because they cannot afford to integrate them back into the oil & gas sector? Like an Uhrobo woman once told me, "we won't throw away the bathing water with the baby".

Ptdf have their hands full already as it is. Let us not forget that this local & overseas scholarship is just one of their Mandates in manpower development for d oil & gas sector.
They are also into training artisans, building & providing equipment forbinstitutions of learning that teach oil & gas courses, etc

Let us go back and read the mandate of ptdf, manpower training for oil and gas sector, they are under no obligation to give us jobs or celebrate us after graduation.

They state the need for us to come back to Nigeria after study because we were trained by the govt, hence there is a need to come back and give to our country that sponsored us. this is not unique to Nigeria.

My little 2 cents Sha oh
Seems you didn't understand my point. It isn't really elaborate ceremony as such, but, such as get together ceremony. Again, I didnt say that ptdf shouldnt train more in my piece. I am of the opinion that scholars certificate be sent to the board by various institutions of the scholars. That will force scholars back home. Obviously, ptdf doesnt necessarily have to give every scholars job, but they can be sending job vacancies of universities recruiting to these scholars ( PhD scholars) and probably oil n gas recruitment as well.

the knowledge acquired from such studies in developed countries should be used to develop our country, I believe that is the whole essence of PTDF. please let's make plans to have an impact on our country, God bless NIGERIA
Is not really so, bro. If ptdf is keen at developing Nigeria, all certificate of scholars should be sent to ptdf's office by various universities of the scholars, and official ceremony be conducted by ptdf on their achievement. But, ptdf don't monitor that, apart sending you stipend for your upkeep. Scholars may even stay behind after the program, which is not encouraging.
