CAUSES OF POVERTY IN NIGERIA

1. Unemployment
2. Bad leadership/Poor governance
3. Corruption
4. Poverty is also resulting from Africa’s excessive reliance on foreign culture and products.
5. Poor economy
6. Illiteracy

ELIMINATING POVERTY IN NIGERIA AND AFRICA

The very first step in eliminating poverty and tactically reducing armed conflicts in Africa is good governance and leadership. This is key to addressing the problem of poverty in Africa. A government that will critically tackle the issue of unemployment, welfare, social infrastructures and corruption. These are key issues in resolving conflicts in African. The truth is that most of the people been used by the influential untouchables to carry out criminal acts, are jobless or are into a job that cannot buy them daily meal. Europe is where they are today because of effective and efficient leadership. Of course Europe has its own problems too, but when you walk in the streets of countries in Europe, you will have a feeling of perfection because they have good leadership. Good welfare packages must be provided.

African leaders must invest heavily in agriculture. Industries should be set up. This would provide jobs and also reduce our much reliance on European products.

Education is also very important in solving the problems of armed conflicts and insecurity in Africa. Financial poverty is part of cultural poverty, for which education is the only antidote. If you cure cultural poverty with education, financial poverty will be cured too. Education enhances productivity and creativity. Most schools and Universities in Africa are in poor shapes. This accounts for a large number of Africans trouping into American and European universities.

Importantly too, government must make very serious efforts to enlighten people on family planning. This for me is key in addressing poverty in Africa. The various family units are very important to the state and in the positive transformation of Africa. How can a man who lives with less than 30 dollar per day have seven children, believing that one would grow up to be rich? This belief is archaic and senseless. It is true that children are blessings from God, but it is also true that God never told us to bring children that we cannot cater for. This is a big issue in Africa. It is so because these children will become part of the larger society in the future and if they lacked the necessary education in life, they may likely become nuisance to the society at large.

Any topic about Niger Delta is quickly turned into 'Igbos want your Oil' by non Igbos and South-South people here, meanwhile this relocation is not to Nsukka or Abagana but to Lagos. Divide and Rule of the Igbos and South-South will no longer work as media control is no longer in the South West and BBC/CNN.

Nobody shut out the SE, they shut themselves out. The house rules says PRINCIPAL OFFICERS must be a RANKING lawmaker.
Now, who are the ranking APC lawmakers from the SE? not even ONE. In the Senate, not even a senator.

Lubbish! Is Akpabio a ranking Senator?

Imagine them o? Very confused bunch. One minute they are shouting Biafra and bragging that they don't care about appointments, the next they are screaming marginalization, and the next they are celebrating NNPC Gmd appointment while in the same breathe some of them are claiming the appointee is not a "core" igboman. Can a bunch of people be any more confused? ?
You are a blatant liar! The Igbos never use the word 'core Igbo', that word is for Hausa and Fulani when sharing positions and scheming out the Northern minorities. He is an Igboman from Delta State South-South Nigeria. This man is talking about South East Nigeria, just like Yorubas dont see BUKOLA Saraki as representing South West.

She even paid him for his services and is protesting now because the 'Alfa' is suffering from erectile dysfunction after 3 days of continuous hammering. Saai, women una can lie, simply put you enjoyed the sex, but you want your money back as it is assumed that only men should pay for 'services' here! grin grin grin

Politics › Re: America Has Refused To Sell Weapons To Buhari by Guyman02:
Nigeria's Human rights record pails into insignificance when compared to the brutal Saudi Arabia regime who are bombing another country Yemen with US weapons and have beheaded over a hundred people this year alone but because they have so much Petrodollars Amnesty International, America and the west turns a blind.
Buhari should look inwards and devise a home grown modus-operandi of defeating BH and not wait for America.

Lets ask our brothers in Aba to produce small gadgets required by the military such as Booths and uniforms, DICON can produce AK-47 and bullets and Kevlar bullet proof vests. The boys in Lagos can handle the propaganda aspect by full engagement in anti BH propaganda on the social media and the Civilian JTF can be trained in intelligence gathering for the military. This is home grown idea that we need now not America.
Politics › Re: America Has Refused To Sell Weapons To Buhari by Guyman02: 10:36am On Jul 23, 2015
That was why he accused them of supporting Boko haram like they do to ISIS in Syria and Iraq.
See photos here of McCain when he sneaked into Syria and met with ISIS Caliph Al Baghdadi whom he refered to as 'MODERATE' Islamist and asked Obama to fund them and channel weapons to them to depose Syrian President Assad.
Tell me in which country America has defeated terrorism, is it in Iraq, Afghanistan where they have spent 10 years, Somalia, Yemen, Pakistan, Syria, Libya etc?
America is the worlds NUMBER 1 terrorist sponsors and you want them to help you to destroy their boys?

You hear them claim to be bombing ISIS in a coalition, but the cartoon here tells it better how successful they are in that regard.

On a more serious note....we cannot buy US equipment because we do not have the money.

A US drone costs $250million..excluding costs of training personnel.

10 US jet fighters will chop 75% of our defence spending for one year....excluding costs of training personnel, building housing, etc.

IMO.....we should rely on the US for intel and training. Forget buying US equipment. Leahy law aside.....it is too costly.
Sharaap there. What do you know? Who told we dont have the money? Did US tell anyone that money is the problem.

dan Bazau has been known as anti Igbo when he was in the Nigerian Defense Academy. This title is undeserved. Rubbish! Ask any Igbo Soldier or aspiring Igbo soldier who ever met him about this man. He alomost refused to handover officially to Ihejirika because of the way GEJ fired him for sneaking in a half dead Yar'adua at mid night without informing the then Acting President GEJ.

Imagine that Obama in the meeting with PMB did not even offer seats to Rochas, Shettima and the 33 man squad. There were not more than 4 US officials at the meeting which shows how little they value the presence of PMB entourage. They are just interested in PMB and not the others simple.

All the Governors and Nigerias elite children are all graduating with 'first classes'? The thing has become so frequent that I am now suspecting those British people.
Even Mutalab would have graduated with first class before being caught with Bomb in pant. Meanwhile, in real life these kids cant stand a thorough bred Naija graduate when it comes to being streetwise.
But why are all of them schooling abroad while their parents are frustrating ASUU and students here?
Congrats to him!

Bukola is a Yoruba name and I wonder why the SW is rejecting their son from the North.
SR has lied so much and 'misquoted' this govt and have become Tinubu attack dogs against Saraki and Ekweremadu since there is No More GEJ to attack. Last time they insulted and harassed African leaders who attended the Presidential inauguration ceremony.
SR is Lai Mohammed propaganda wing.
