Nothing such as coming back from the the dead. Just a clear case of Lazarus syndrome. Pressure buildup in the chest caused by CPR. Once CPR is ceased, this pressure may gradually release and kick-start the heart back into action, that's one. Delayed action of medication used as a part of resuscitation efforts, such as adrenaline. hmmm, wise indeed. Newton himself doesn't like being in a state of unkonwn. He is known for saying " what we know is a drop, what we do not know is an ocean." He believed since there were a lot of things not known to man, a God must exist. Have you heard of the new planet HD904790, located in the same milky way galaxy as earth. It has outstanding features like exceptional atmosphere, climate. natural resources and even freshwater. Scientist once believed earth is the only planet capable of sustaining life. This new discovery proves them wrong. And the distance between us and this planet is 300,000 years. What kind of beings do you think live there. Do they practise Islam and Christianity too? People once worshipped the sun and moon and attributed every illness to the wrath of the gods until cure was found for them through science.

indeed, they fail to realize how useless fiction is in real life. I keep trying to educate them, prayer has nothing to do with success, nor god. Last resort is to claim you would go to hell when they realize how useless their god is beyond their delusions. The last stand is the threat of hell. Lol

Exactly, the ultimate basis they all have deep down for being religious is the fear of hell. No one wants to burn forever. That thought alone could reform a hardened criminal, only if it were real.

Bro, if you can reason with religious people, there will be none left. Let me tell you a short story about myself. When we finished our senior waec and our results were released, everyone in my class that year made their papers once. I wasn't surprised though, cos after classes, we would all meet to brainstorm, solved questions together and covered the entire syllabus before exams. We got to a point where even the dullest in class were confident of themselves and solved questions easily. The power of practice. Exam came and we dealt with it. Now the real problem began after our results were released. The principal asked us to come to church to give testimonies. I was the senior boy then and he asked me to convey the message to my mates. But before I left his office that day, I told him I wasn't coming cos I don't believe God was responsible for our success in the exam. I told him about what we did after classes, how we prepared and read a lot because of the history of failure in our school.
He told me God gave us the wisdom to do that and giving testimonies would be a way of thanking him and asking for more blessings. That's why I told him I haven't prayed since junior school so there's no way God did that. He said probably someone in my class did. To his shock, I told him I wasn't coming to give no testimony. Guess what he said? God's gonna punish me and i was not gonna pass any forthcoming exams cos I had been an ingrate.
My mates went to give testimonies, and they were all assured they would gain admission that year. I finished OAU post utme four times before exams likewise jamb. I did both once and gained admission. Throughout school, my worst grade was C, I mostly had As and Bs cos I studied and believed life was practical not mystical which I still do.

But I get why some hate atheists, especially those who were violently subjugated in atheist states. But more generally online, atheists tend to go around calling people ignorant, stupid, morons, etc. They deliberately open threads on religious sections to post blasphemous comments to get the attention of religious individuals and they also tend to blame religion on everything and love to lie about the religions they are attacking. They also have a very condescending way about themselves.

If you a theist this is generally the average atheist you'll meet online in a religous section.

I have seen someone's leg broken because he always places them on the dashboard. We always warn him about it in case of an airbag deployment. He wouldn't listen. The day it happened, both of his legs were broken.

That was in high school. I told them religion is a fraud, most religious pple are hypocrites who only subscribe to that part of their religious teachings that support their actions. React violently against unbelievers or free thinkers who challenge them. I once asked my CRS teacher a question in secondary school. I asked him what's gonna happen to all our ancestors that died before religion spread to Africa. Are they all going to hell, since both Christianity and Islam claim they are only path to Heaven and anyone who doesn't follow their path would rot in hell. He flared up and shouted at me not to question things I don't understand. I mean, what the hell? That made me research on my own. I read these holy books and found the more I read, the more my belief slipped from me. So many flaws, and yet, we mustn't ask questions. I once asked a friend of mine whose father is an evangelist why he truly believes in God, he said cos he doesn't want to go to hell. And he said something must have created all we see around us.

Why would you create a set of beings and forbid them from reasoning. A child who grows up with the mum alone would soon ask for his dad of his brain works. My dad merely smiled when I told him and said nothing.

Believing there is no God gives me more room for belief in family, people, love, truth, beauty, sex, and all the other things I can prove and that make this life the best life I will ever have. I don't believe in no virgins after death or any other bullshiit.

It is surely no accident that almost every religion promises its adherents that they—and they alone—are the "chosen of god", guaranteed salvation no matter what, assured that the almighty (or whatever form the gods take) will assist them through their current difficulties if the right rituals and prayers are performed. This undoubtedly introduces a profound sense of comfort in times of adversity.

I read some comments here and I feel very complete and full of joy knowing that some Nigerians are beginning to wake up to life reality. I'm a Christian first of all and Catholic to be precised but religion has done more harm than good in this world. Like someone asked, why is it that we have thousands of gods but have only one devil. If Nigerians can see beyond religion and tribalism, I swear we will progress to the highest order. The whole European Countries that are well developed, no sign of religion fanatics there, same goes to America, Canada, Australia and Co. Please let's be more civilized.

some times I imagine a supposed kan if God who claims have the power to make u wealthy but cannot use same power on himself first to confirm it,s authenticity ,but will rather use a subtle and dubious means to cut a reasonable percentage of ur income and all the peoples who have fallen victim of his scam through varieties of acrobatics means ranging from offerings,tithes,firstfruit,donation,deed sowing,charity offering,evangelism offering
,etc and they are still mimicking on a new plan/way to defraud the innocent but gullible puppet

it is not a coincidence that those things has the intense occurrence here in Africa cos the black race is the most gullible species on planet earth

You have said it all. Religion is one of the major reasons for our continued backwardness in this nation coupled with superstitious beliefs. People are discouraged from reasoning and making use of their brains. They are discouraged from asking questions in churches and mosques, asked to donate 10 percent of their hard earned income to a sky daddy who doesn't need it promising you eternal life which those religious leaders themselves know is bullshiit.
