If its Abia, you better go. There are multinational firms like Nigerian Breweries, Unilever, PZ etc in Aba, though its a pity about the state of roads there.
You must be from the north for wishing for Taraba (rolls wide open eyes).

So, people still pay for placement? Got about 3 peeps who wanna influence mine for me for free(Kaduna, Niger, Taraba or Nasarawa on my mind) But that altering of destiny is what my mama is concerned about. She be like, i'm praying to God and he'll influence ya posting a place which'll favor you. You musn't influence it. But what if her prayers land me in Abia or Ebonyi?
PoliticsJonathan Okays Oil Jobs For Tompolo, Fasehun, Others by handie(op): 8:15am On Mar 12, 2015
The Federal Government is set to execute
its new plan to safeguard the waterways
and oil pipelines. The Presidency is believed to have
directed the Police and the Nigerian
Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)
to quit the job for some companies, which
have been signed on by the government. The companies are owned by some former
Niger Delta militants and prominent
citizens. They include Government
Tompolo; Mujaheedin Asari-Dokubo and
Chief Bipobiri Ajube (aka Gen. Shoot-At-
Sight). There is also founder of the Oodua
Peoples Congress (OPC) Dr. Frederick
Fasehun who said last night that his
company was being considered for the
multi-billion naira contract. The OPC National co-ordinator, Otunba
Gani Adams, who is also said to be part of
the deal, declined comments last night,
saying he was at a meeting. The takeover is said to be with effect from
March 16. According to a source, seven companies
have been allocated “regions” or
operational areas as follows: Egbe Security
River One (Bayelsa); Gallery Security
(Mosinmi -Ore); Close Body Protection
(Edo State); Adex Energy Security(Rivers) ; Donyx Global Concept(Lagos and Ogun);
Oil Facilities Surveillance-(Delta) and New
Age Global Security (Mosinmi-Ibadan). The Nigerian National Petroleum
Corporation (NNPC) will coordinate the
jobs. Details of the deal are sketchy as only few
in government are in the picture. A source said: “The so-called new deal for
the protection of waterways has not been
made known to members of the Federal
Executive Council, unlike in the past. “Maybe this is an ad hoc arrangement to
achieve a political purpose because some
ex-Niger Delta militants on January 24 met
at the Government House, Yenagoa and
vowed to declare war if President
Goodluck Jonathan does not win the March 28 election. “Asari Dokubo specifically said: “We are
going to war. Every one of you should go
and fortify yourself.” Responding to a question, the source
added: “These former Niger Delta militants
are benefiting from all manner of pipeline
protection contracts. “Apart from being on retainership with
NIMASA, I am aware that in 2009, a former
Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Chief Ufot
Ekaette presented a memo on December
2, 2009 to the Federal Executive Council
for the award of the N1.8billion Kurutie Shoreline Protection and Reclamation
contract. “A company, KFT Kpudoh, allegedly
owned by Tompolo and another called
Phoenica Nigeria Limited, bid for the said
contract.” Based on the advice of the Bureau of
Public Procurement, after a thorough
technical audit, the Shoreline Protection
and Reclamation Contract was awarded to
Phoenica Nigeria Limited by FEC. But the
award of the contract to Phoenica fetched Akaette death threats. The government
later reviewed the contract.” A source in Warri, Delta State, said the
contract for pipelines in Delta State would
be executed by Oil Field Surveillance
Limited, the same company, which had
previously handled it. It is owned by
Tompolo. “What I was told is that it has been
awarded for Delta, Edo, Ondo, Bayelsa,
Rivers, Lagos and Ogun states. Like the
one of Lagos State, I learnt it’s being
anchored by Dr Frederick Fasshun and
that it’s going to commence on Monday,” the source said. The NSCDC Deputy Commandant General
in charge of Operation, Evans Ewuurum,
said the corps was yet to receive any
circular on the contracts. Nigeria has been battling with huge
revenue due to vandalism of oil and gas
pipeline. The Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral
Usman Jibrin, recently disclosed that
Nigeria had been losing an estimated
100,000 barrels of crude oil valued at
N1.18 billion daily to oil thieves. This amounts to an annual loss of N433.62
billion. The Minister of Power, Prof. Chinedu
Nebo, said pipeline vandalism led to
shortage of gas for firing power plants. The electricity market, which has 5,500MW
installed capacity now generates an
average of 3,575.85MW following paucity
of gas as vandals who always strike
whenever the sector is about to hit
4,500MW”.

PoliticsJonathan’s Comment On Chibok Girls Callous, Insensitive – APC by handie(op): 6:50pm On Mar 07, 2015
The All Progressives Congress has
described as callous, morbid and
insensitive the comments made by
President Goodluck Jonathan that the
Chibok girls are still alive because Boko
Haram would have displayed their bodies if they had been killed. In a statement in Lagos on Saturday by its
National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai
Mohammed, the party said it found the
comment “deeply offensive to human
sensibilities” rather than providing hope
and succour for the traumatised parents of the girls. It said a key role of Presidents everywhere
in times of tribulations and tragedies was
to offer hope and be the Consoler-in-
Chief, not to make statements that would
deepen the suffering and sorrow of
victims. APC said one would have expected a
President to speak on the basis of
actionable intelligence, not some “twisted,
melancholic and offensive logic.” The party said the statement played on
the fears of the parents of the girls and
indeed of all Nigerians concerning the
fate of the girls, who had been held in
captivity for over 300 days, “with an
impotent government” unable to rescue them. It said all that the parents of the girls as
well as all concerned people around the
world had wanted to know was what the
Jonathan Administration was doing to
bring the girls home safely and as soon as
possible, “not a depressing statement about their bodies being displayed via a
video by Shekau if they had been killed.” The opposition party asked Jonathan to
borrow a leaf from his Chadian
counterpart, who came across as being
very “presidential” in his comments on
Shekau, when he said, ”It is in Abubakar
Shekau’s interest to surrender, we know where he is. If he refuses to give himself
up, he will suffer the same fate as his
comrades.” It said the Chadian President’s statement
also contradicted the earlier claim by the
Nigerian authorities that Shekau had been
killed at least twice, the last of which was
backed up with a ‘pictorial evidence’. APC added, ”The Shekau that President
Deby was referring to is the same Shekau
that the Jonathan-led administration
claimed to have killed at least twice, and
the same Shekau the same administration
is now seeking to capture alive. ”Mr. President (Jonathan), how many
Shekaus do you want to kill or capture?
Or is there a Shekau that is known only to
your administration?”

LiteratureRe: Following Chris- A Short Story by handie(op): 8:37pm On Mar 06, 2015
Christopher Kayode Nelson, Chris as he
liked to be called, was born sometime in
the eighties. “Crazy since the eighties” he
would jokingly refer to himself. Born into
a rich middle class family, he never really
had much problems getting whatever he wanted. With the added advantage that
he was the last child, he was his mother’s
favorite. The only problems he had growing up will
be the occasional slap or conk when his
older brother, Junior, felt he was out of
line and his mother was not around to
defend him. His older sister, Omolade, was
very easy. All he needed to do was threaten to tell mummy about super flirty
boyfriend, James and she would remain
quiet and hold her peace. Sometimes, blackmail is a very efficient
tool for keeping everyone in line. He was a smart child, came top of his
class. Most of the time at least. He could
do no wrong in his teachers’ eyes, his
academic prowess continued well into his
secondary school days. He was always the
person to represent the school anytime there was a competition. Suffice it to say
that any competition that he participated
in, the first prize trophy was going to be
in the bus bringing them back to school. Chris was a normal, law-abiding, morally
upright student until the second term of
S.S.S 1. He was still normal and upright
but just a little less law-abiding after then.
He started seeing things a little differently.
Some might say he loosened up considerably and quite rightly so. Chris’ transformation began when a boy
named Jameel transferred to his school.
They weren’t friends at first, neither did
they have anything in common or so they
thought at the time. Their paths first
crossed when the Biology teacher paired them for a class project. Chris had no
problems socializing but he didn’t want a
partner like Jameel. Putting aside every notion he had about
Jameel, he went to him and asked about
what he thought the project. “I really don’t care about that project
bro”, Jameel said. “Why not?”, Chris asked, shocked. “Because I just don’t care.” Jameel said
without a care in the world. “Aren’t you interested in the extra ten
marks?” Chris quizzed him more “I will get a credit at the end of the day,
so I really I’m not interested” Jameel said
uninterested. “How are sure you will get a credit?” Chris
said fascinated. Raising one eyebrow, Jameel replied “the
exams are still 70 marks, right?” “Yes” Chris replied firmly “I will study for the exams and get about
45 and then I already have 18 from the
tests so I’m good” “Wow! What if you don’t make the 45?” “I will” “How?” “Anyway possible. People like you worry
too much.” Jameel walked away leaving an open-
mouthed Chris just standing there. After Chris regained his consciousness
after being in a daze, he started
pondering on what Jameel had said. What
does “anyway possible” even mean? He
wondered. He shrugged it off for the
mean time and went back to his class. Chris got on the project anyway and
finished it without any help from Jameel.
In the paper given to them by the teacher,
he was supposed to fill in the names of
the persons that carried out the project.
He had finished filling his own name when he realized he didn’t know Jameel’s last
name. He did the trek to the Art Class and
sought out Jameel. “What’s your surname?”, Chris asked. “Why do you ask?”, Jameel replied. “I need it for that Biology project that you
blew off. I need to write your name as my
partner.” “Oh? You still went on with that?” “Yes. Apparently.” Jameel laughed. “Why are you laughing?” “I just didn’t think someone like you
would still want to put my name on the
project that I didn’t even lift a finger for” “Well, I did” “Ok. My last name’s Benson” “All right. We’ll go over this stuff in case
the Biology teacher asks us anything.
Ok?” “Ok sir”, Jameel said laughing. “What?” “Nothing” As Chris turned to leave, Jameel called out
to him “There’s a party at my place this evening.
You should come.” “On a school evening?” “Problem?” “Not really” “You seem cool but you are little uptight.
Come and let’s see if we can loosen you
up a little with some booze” “There’s going to be alcohol?” “Again, problem?” “Yes” “Why?” “I don’t drink” “No worries then” “All right” Chris opened the door of the classroom to
leave and then Jameel called after him
again. “Ask anyone for the address”

FOLLOWING CHRIS EPISODE 3:Planning Lola’s birthday bash was fun.
What made it more fun was the fact that
it was gonna be a surprise birthday bash,
cant wait to see the excitement in her face
when she sees it. Getting Sade, Blossom
and Camille involved also added more fun to it. But the larger the circle got, the
harder it was to keep the secret. Chris
somehow managed it. He had been thinking of taking her to the
same restaurant he had taken her for
Valentine’s and he was particularly
inclined to acquiesce to her request
because she had fallen in love with the
place and the food that she had actually marked a table as her favorite table. One evening, on his way back to the
hostel from a personal errand he went to
run, he saw Camille waiting at the bus
stop trying to get a cab. He knew that by
her dressing and her disposition, she was
heading back to the school. He drove a little further from where she
was and tooted the horn a little. When
she didn’t realize he was actually waiting
for her, he tooted the horn again. By this
time, she looked up and saw the car and
noticed that that was Chris’ car. She knew the car very well. It was the car that had
taken to and from parties on countless
occasions. She stopped talking to the cab driver she
had managed to hail and started the little
trek to where Chris was parked. She
walked over to the passenger side on the
right side and gently slid into the car. “Hey Chris”, she said. “Hey back. Where are you headed?”, he
asked. “Duh”, she said and laughed. “I was just asking to confirm. You girls
have lots of places to go to on your
minds”, he retorted. “Ehn. I’m sha headed to school” She
replied uninterested “All right. I’ll drop you off at the hostel.”
Chris offered He looked on straight ahead as he backed
out from where he had parked. He
changed the music from the hardcore rap
he had been listening to earlier to
something a little lighter. For some
reason, He and Camille never quite got along like the rest of Lola’s friends. Trying
to make small talk, he asked where she
had been coming from. “Oh that? I went to see one useless boy”,
she replied. “Ahn ahn, how was he useless?”, he asked. “The stupid boy was trying to force
himself on me. He didn’t even give me
cab fare” She sounded pissed Stifling a chuckle, he said “How you come
you went to his house if you don’t know
him?” “I know him very well joor. We’ve been
making out before but I was not ready for
the do just yet” “Oh” Chris said faintly “What?”, she asked. “Nothing” Chris was not particularly struggling to
understand why she had suddenly
become a talkative that night. He had
smelled it on her as she had entered the
car. Although quite faint, the smell of
alcohol was unmistakable, so she is sort of tipsy or at worse drunk. “So tell me, how come you weren’t ready
to do the do with the guy?”, he asked
trying to keep the idle chitchat going. “Maybe I was waiting for you to come and
pop my cherry”, she said maintaining
serious eye contact. “What?!”, he said swerving and braking so
rapidly so he wouldn’t rear-end the car in
front of him. “You heard me”, she retorted. It had to be the alcohol he thought to
himself. Surely she couldn’t be saying all
that he was hearing. He must be hearing
things. He started moving again, this time,
in silence. Just before they got to the
school gate, he parked on a side street just so they could clear the air. “What do you mean you’re waiting for me
to pop your cherry?”, he asked. “Exactly what the words mean”, she
replied. “Jesus!”, he shouted. “You’re such a damn fool Chris. I waited
and waited for you to notice me. The
lights I was shining were brighter than cut
emeralds, yet you didn’t see me”, she said “I didn’t know” “How could you? Then the next thing I
know you started dating Lola. My best
friend!”, she said almost sobbing “And. . . and Lola will keep asking me why
you and I don’t seem to get along. If only
she knew right?”, she said trying to smile
but not quite making it. “You should’ve said something”, he said
quietly. “And be taken for a desperate chick? Hell
no!”, she retorted sharply. “It’s too late now, you know? I can’t be
sneaking around. Besides, I can’t even
cheat on Lola”, he said. “Don’t you think I know that?”, she
replied. He leaned over and hugged her. He
couldn’t give her what she wanted but at
least he could comfort her. As he was
pulling away from her, she held him
tighter. “Please don’t leave me”, she said, “you
must hate me now I’m sure. Please don’t
hate me.” “I don’t hate you”, he said reassuring her,
“let’s get you to your hostel.” He tried pulling away from her again. This
time she let him pull away a little and
then just when he was at arm’s length, she
pulled him closer and kissed him full on
the mouth. He tried pulling away, but she
held him tighter. When she finally let him go, he just stared
at her. A little mad at her for pulling such
a trick on him, but more mad at himself
for liking it. “I’m sorry”, she said, when she saw the
emotion all over his face she couldn’t
quite identify. “It’s all right”, he replied. He pulled out from the side street he was
on, and then headed into the school
premises. He drove her straight to her hall,
neither of them saying anything on the
drive there. “We’re here”, he said, trying to lighten the
mood. “Sorry about earlier”, she said, “it won’t
happen again.” “Don’t worry about it.” He tried to make it
look like nothing “Totally off topic, but what are we doing
for Lola’s birthday?” She inquired “We? There’s no we. There’s just us. Lola
& I. I’m just taking her to a restaurant she
loves very much.” Chris said knowing
deep down that he didnt need to say all
of that. “The one you took her to on Valentine’s?”
She asked “Yeah. Problem?” Chris asked “Not at all. Just that for a very long time
she had wanted a surprise party” She
replied “Really?” Chris asked, happy to be on the
right track with the surprise party. “Yes, really” She confirmed. “I’ll find out for myself. Thanks for the
heads up” Chris said, hoping to cut the
conversation before sparks might fly
again. “I’m sure you’ve got it covered, but Lola
must not find out what happened tonight.
She might just kill me” She said “No worries” Chris said “Goodnight”, she said, walking towards
the entrance of the hostel. “Night”, he called after her. Turning the car around, he headed to his
hostel trying to put the events of this
night behind him and started to think
about how he was gonna figure out which
one – the dinner or the surprise party –
was the better idea.

Following Chris Episode 2:On the eve of the day of the test, he got
his materials and started studying and
asking for help where he did not
understand. When the time for the test
came, he went into the hall mildly
prepared and kept his fingers crossed. As the test was about to start, the lecturer
wasn’t having the ‘formations’ the
students had set, so he decided to have
the class rearranged. Naturally, students from his college didn’t
necessarily socialize from the students
from her college. So it was a safe bet
sitting the students by college. A student
from the College of Science. A student
from the College of Business. As fate would have it, they were both
seated on the same long class chair. The
lecture began distributing the questions
and the people that received the
questions at the front of the class, just
put their hands on their heads and by the looks of it, the questions were really hard. By the time the questions eventually got
to their table, he couldn’t see what the
fuss was about. The questions weren’t all
that difficult, and he just buried his head
and started attempting the ones he could. There were six questions, they were to
answer four. By the time he was done with
the third question, and he was trying to
figure out which he one he was going to
attempt last based on his level of
knowledge on each of them , he looked up to notice that the girl sitting beside
him was not writing anything. “What’s the problem?”, he said in a very
low voice. “I don’t know what to write”, she
responded, whispering back. “How come?”, he asked. “I don’t know what to write”, she said,
rolling her eyes at him. “Wait”, he murmured. He finally picked a question and started
solving. After he was done, he picked
another one and solved. He had answered
5 out of 6. He made sure he did an extra
question so that they didn’t end up
solving the exact same questions and when they were done he was going to
cancel out the last one he solved. “Psst”, he called out to her, and then
moved his answer sheet in such a way
that she could see it. She looked towards him and she saw what
he was doing. Not being a slacker herself,
she started copying. She was very fast
with her writing and within moments she
was done copying. As soon as she was done, he turned the
answer sheet back towards him and
cancelled out the last question he had
solved. He then made his way to submit.
Looking behind him, she wasn’t far away
as she too had stood up and wanted to submit as well. He submitted, and then
went out of the room. She was right
behind him and he kept walking towards
the stairs to make his way back to his
hostel room. He felt someone tap him. He
turned, and that’s when he really saw her. Her hair was very shiny and black. It
flowed in waves to adorn her glowing,
light-brown skin. Her eyes, framed by long
lashes, were a sparkling, aquamarine and
seemed to brighten the world. The color
in her eyes were from contact lenses, but it seemed so natural. A straight nose, full
red lips. She had all the right curves in all
the right places – she seemed the picture
of perfection. You didn’t need to be
Kodak to get the picture. “Aren’t you gonna let me say, ‘thank
you’”, she said smiling, revealing a perfect
set of white teeth. “It’s nothing”, he replied. “Don’t be modest. You did me one solid. I
owe you one”, she replied. “OK then. Why don’t you give me your
number and I’d think of a way you could
thank me”, he said. “Give me your phone” He handed over his phone and she
programmed her number in it. “Call me”, she said. With that, she turned and walked away
swaying her hips from side to side. He just stood there, watching her leave.
As she rounded a corner, he proceeded
down the stairs and was on his way back
to the hostel trying to figure out where he
was going to take his girlfriend for her
birthday. All thoughts of the pretty girl somewhat forgotten

PoliticsObasanjo Scores Two Goals In Birthday’s Match by handie(op): 6:39am On Mar 05, 2015
It was a fun filled football match on Wednesday evening at the MKO Abiola International Stadium, Abeokuta when a team led by former president Olusegun Obasanjo of Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library slugged it out with a team of Ogun State Government led by the governor Senator Ibikunle Amosun. At the end of the novelty match which was to commemorate the 78th birthday of Obasanjo, OOPL team beat the state government team 2-1. The two goals were scored by Obasanjo while the Special Assistant to the governor
on Special Duties scored the only goal for the government team. The first half of a 60-minute of play was goalless, as both team lost scoring chances. Obasanjo who displayed some dexterity on the field of play lost about four scoring chances. But the OOPL team rebound in the second half with players such as Prof. Akin Mabogunje, 88-year-old Dr. Femi Olopade, and one of aides of the former president, Vitalis among others, gave the Amosun-led team a tough time. Mabogunje was a capable hand in goal. Helping the Amosun’s team on the defensive, were the secretary to the state government, Adeoluwa Taiwo, and the state chief of staff, Prof. Ganiu Olatunde among others. The Five-a-Side match ended with Obasanjo, Amosun and Mabogunje winning golden boots, Most Valuable Player and Golden Gloves awards respectively

to the woman hawking beef rolls and
‘minerals’ “Madam, abeg give me two Gala and one
bottle of Sprite.” The woman handed over
the goods, and then he paid, and the
woman handed him his change. “Thank you, Oga”, she said. Starting to wonder why the bus still hadn’t
filled up, he heard the whistle sound that
was the alert of his S3, thinking it was one
random WhatsApp or ChatOn message, he
ignored it for the mean time. Breaking
chunks of the Gala in his hand and stuffing his mouth with it, he poured
some of that cold Sprite down his throat
and almost instantly, the rumbling
stomach seemed to have been appeased.
Who could blame the stomach anyway?
He hadn’t fed the stomach all day. As soon as he was about finishing the
Sprite, the driver came into the bus and
he heard the sliding door of the rear of
the bus close. That signified they were
about to leave the park and start on the
journey heading home. He fished his phone out of his pocket, to
plug in his earphones to drown out the
sounds – the two excited girls behind him
talking about the hunk that was just
employed at their office, the women at
the girls’ back debating whether Pampers or Huggies was better for their respective
toddlers, a man telling the woman beside
him to shift – around him, and that’s
when he saw the envelope icon at the top
of the screen signifying that he had an
unread text message. He swiped down from the top of the
screen, so he could view the notification,
and therefore read the text. It was from
Toyin, or TY, like she likes to be called. He
hadn’t seen or heard from her since she
said she wanted, no, needed an adventure. The text read, “Hey Chris, I know you’d be
pissed, but I still remember where you
keep your spare, so I’m letting myself in.
See you when you get home. We’ve got a
lot to talk about. TY xx” As soon as he was done reading, he
breathed in sharply. He was so upset. Why
did she come to him? Didn’t she have
anywhere else to go? What happened to
the “adventure”? She had broken his heart to smithereens.
What did she want from him now? To
make sure the small remaining pieces were
ground into powder? With that stream of thought and
consciousness, he remembered the day
when he first saw her . . . She was a party girl, he was a party-
sometimes-read-sometimes kind of guy.
Naturally, academically, he was slightly
better. They never would have met if not
for the fact that his stupid course of study
did not ask its students to borrow courses not just from another department but
from another college entirely. What was
his business with accounting? In what
ways would that better his life? The classes were boring to say the least.
The first two were unbearable. The third
one, he purposely absented himself from
the class, in other words, he ‘stabbed’ the
class. And so did he the fourth, the fifth,
and the sixth. On the day of the sixth class, the lecturer had said there was
going to be a test in the next class. The
students that were present did their due
diligence and informed the ‘stabbers’ that
there was going to be a test in the next
class.

PoliticsNigerian Govt. Plans To Deposit Huge Sum Into Jega’s Account — APC by handie(op): 6:07pm On Mar 04, 2015
The opposition All Progressives Congress, APC, has accused the Nigerian government of planning to deposit a large
sum of money into the bank account of the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Attahiru Jega, in order to frame one of its leaders, Bola Tinubu. The Spokesperson of the APC, Lai Mohammed, who addressed a press conference Wednesday in Lagos, made the claim. APC said the goal of the plot was to use that as a reason to sack Mr. Jega so that he will not preside over the rescheduled elections slated for March 28 and April 11. “There is a plot to transfer a humongous amount of money into the bank account of the INEC Chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega, and then claim that the money came from Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC in order to justify the ongoing plan to sack Prof. Jega so he won’t organize the elections,” he said. He also said that beyond Mr. Jega, there are plans to credit the bank accounts of some key national institutions in the country with huge amounts of money purportedly from the APC, ostensibly to compromise those institutions. Mr. Mohammed added that despite repeated claims to the contrary, the government is truly working hard to truncate the conduct of the elections. To this end, the APC spokesperson said the government plans to use some political parties that he said, are satellites of the ruling PDP, to push for the postponement of the elections again. “The plot is to get the parties to address a press conference to say the elections should not hold in the North-east until September 2015 because of the ongoing counter-insurgency battle there. “The intention is to make sure Jega’s tenure expires before the polls, so that they can appoint a malleable card- carrying member of the PDP as INEC Chair to conduct the polls,” he said. He also said there is a plan to use the security agencies to intimidate key opposition leaders as well as the Nigerian Communications Commission and telecommunications service providers to disrupt voice and data transmission, especially in APC strongholds, on Election Day. He said top on the list of the security agencies to be used against the opposition is the State Security Service, SSS, which will be used to compel all Resident Electoral Commissioners in the 36
states and the Federal Capital Territory - Abuja to hand over the names and telephone numbers of all INEC’s regular and ad hoc staff who will conduct the elections, as part of the Jonathan Administration’s rigging plans. “It is no longer news that a signal has been sent to all state commands of the DSS (SSS) to get the list of all INEC Returning Officers and Adhoc Staff before March 10th. “There is also the ongoing illegal recruitment of over 500 new cadets into one of the country’s security outfits, 50 per cent of whom are from the home state
of the outfit’s top brass, in violation of the provisions of the Constitution, especially as the recruitment does not reflect the Federal Character,” he said. Mr. Mohammed said nocturnal meetings are being held between various heads of national security agencies and the leadership of the PDP to undermine the coming elections; adding that the Presidency has retained the services of two Israelis and a Belgian who are currently holed up in the Aso Rock Villa to hack and corrupt INEC computers on election day, with the trio having already been paid 25 percent of their contract fees upfront. Another accusation from the APC is that there is an ongoing effort to compromise the card reader, which Mr. Mohammed said, the Jonathan administration sees as inimical to its rigging plans. “Huge funds are being provided for retired and serving security personnel to buy up PVCs, with the hope that they can be used once the card reader is compromised,” he said. He recalled a case in court that sought to declare the use of the card readers in the forthcoming elections unconstitutional. “In the days leading up to the elections, the Jonathan Administration is planning to give the opposition the Ekiti treatment by massively arresting key opposition leaders, with a view to destabilizing their ranks, putting them away and paving the way for a free rein of their rigging agents. “Towards this end, thousands of signed blank detention orders have been procured. “As part of the plan to implicate our leaders, illegal substances may be put into their checked-in luggage during local and international flights. That is why we are calling on our leaders to travel only with their carry-on baggage,” Mr. Mohammed said. He also said the detailed plans by the President Goodluck Jonathan administration and the PDP are part of the
massive intelligence the APC are receiving daily from “patriotic” Nigerians, within and outside the government, who, he said, are eager to see the conduct of a free, fair, credible and violence-free elections that will catapult Nigeria to the league of truly democratic nations. “We have decided to share the information we are receiving with Nigerians because we believe that no power is strong enough to stop a people who are determined to effect change in the way and manner they are being governed, and that the ultimate power resides in the people. “We have no doubt that the information will fortify the local and international observers who are coming for the elections, in addition to enhancing the vigilance of the citizenry before, during and after the polls,” he said.

PoliticsHow Edo Pastors Shared ‘N7 Billion PDP Bribe’ – APC by handie(op): 6:03am On Mar 03, 2015
The Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has said over 400 clergymen in the state shared money offered as bribe to the Christian Association of Nigeria by the Peoples Democratic Party to support President Goodluck Jonathan in the March 28 presidential election. The party, in a statement on Sunday, said some of the pastors drawn mostly from the Pentecostal bloc of the association, got between N50, 000 and N2 million from
the N7 billion CAN allegedly received from the PDP and Mr. Jonathan. It, however, praised the Edo State chairman of CAN, Peter Imasuen, for not participating in the sharing of the largesse. A Borno-based pastor, Kallamu Musa- Dikwa, recently alleged that President Jonathan, who is also the candidate of the PDP for the March 28 election, gave the Christian body N7 billion to support him. The clergyman, a former associate pastor with E.Y.N. Church in Maiduguri, said the money was routed through the national secretariat of CAN, which in turn shared N3 million each to its state branches. Mr. Musa-Dikwa, who is who is the Executive Director, Voice of Northern Christian Movement, spoke in Kaduna a few weeks after the Governor of Rivers State and Director General of the APC Presidential Campaign Organisation, Chibuike Amaechi, said the pastors were given N6 billion to back Mr. Jonathan. The CAN has since denied the allegation. The APC said on Sunday in the statement by its spokesperson, Godwin Erhahon, that
an insider in the Christian body revealed to it at the weekend in Benin City how the money was shared. It said “over four hundred pastors in Edo State, majority of whom are of the Pentecostal churches, shared from the bribe with some of them getting between five hundred thousand and fifty thousand naira each.” It added that “a few others from the so- called super churches received as much as
two million naira each because they claimed that their churches have more members.” The party said it was informed that while the national leadership of CAN disbursed N4 billion to its branches, it kept back N3 billion and left an instruction that Catholic
churches be left out of the largesse from the PDP It said some of the bishops in Edo State were dissatisfied with the “greedy manner” their bosses shared the money. The APC said it could reveal authoritatively that Mr. Imasuen was one of the state chairmen of CAN “who were godly and patriotic enough to reject the bribe which was given to Christian leaders to campaign for President Jonathan and condemn APC Presidential Candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari.” The party also claimed that one of those who participated in the sharing of the money was already finding ways to make peace with Mr. Buhari. PREMIUM TIMES could not reach Mr. Imasuen to speak on the APC claim. However, Mr. Erhahon said on phone, Sunday, that its claim was authentic as some of the clergymen in Edo State confirmed the offering of bribe to the CAN

PoliticsDrama As Tambuwal Joins Federal Republic Of Nigeria Party by handie(op): 12:46pm On Feb 27, 2015
A mild drama took place on the floor of the House of Representatives yesterday when Speaker Aminu Waziri Tambuwal raised the hands of three of his colleagues
who, like him, are contesting for governorship seats in their respective states
Tambuwal is the governorship candidate of the APC in Sokoto State. He raised the hands of the Deputy Speaker of the House, Emeka Ihedioha and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, who are seeking for governorship on the platform of the PDP in Imo and Enugu states respectively.
The other lawmaker is Dakuku Peterside of APC, who is the party’s governorship candidate in Rivers State.
Dakuku first went to Tambuwal for a private discussion when suddenly the speaker called on Ihedioha and Ugwuanyi to be part of the meeting. When they arrived, Tambuwal stood up and raised their hands, as they all laughed jokingly and their other colleagues on the floor joined them.
Soon after that, six other Reps that are contesting the Senate tickets in their states went to meet Tambuwal for the same treatment and he raised their hands also. Expectedly, the laughter continued. Those concerned included Minority Whip Samson Osagie, John Enoh, Abubakar Momoh, Uche Ekwunife and others.
But minority leader Femi Gbajabiamila came up jokingly with a point of order, saying that they needed to know where Tambuwal belongs, having raised Ihedioha and Ugwuanyi’s (who are of the PDP) hands.
Tambuwal simply replied by saying that his official car’s number plate carries ‘Federal Republic of Nigeria’ and not the logo of any political party. The Speaker added that his party is ‘Federal Republic of Nigeria.’

PoliticsReps Set For Showdown On Tenure Elongation by handie(op): 11:23pm On Feb 16, 2015
Any request for further extension of the 2015 elections by six months from President Goodluck Jonathan may result in serious bedlam in the House of Representatives, it was learnt yesterday. Members of the House are billed to reconvene tomorrow after embarking on a 5-week break in preparation for the earlier scheduled February polls.
Some members of the House who spoke to Daily Trust yesterday alleged that although Jonathan had said that the May 29 hand-over date is “sacrosanct” plans were afoot to come up with a request based on Section 135 of the constitution so that the National Assembly would extend elections for six months, thereby extending Jonathan’s tenure.
One of the lawmakers told our reporter on phone that some of his colleagues had already started making moves to create an enabling environment for such a request to scale through but added that “we won’t
allow that to happen.
“I can tell you that some of their foot- soldiers among my colleagues have started working towards that. About three people called me this afternoon on this issue, saying we should support it,” said the lawmaker, who pleaded not to be named.
The lawmaker said part of the plan was to woo members with financial inducements “since some of us did not get return tickets, while others are saying that they’ve spent a lot of money during the campaigns, so the six months additional period will give them time to recoup their money.
“My tenure ends on May 29, because that is the mandate given to me by my people. I won’t take part in any illegality, although I have my return ticket,” saying “it’s really a dicey situation we may find ourselves,” he added.
Another lawmaker said no matter the amount of money that might be given, “we will not allow some selfish individuals to truncate our democracy.”
Similarly, House spokesman Zakari Mohammed told Daily Trust on phone that as they reconvene tomorrow, they would do everything possible to see that the new elections dates were adhered to, saying they would not approve any extension.
He said: “Budget will be part of our main focus, but there is need for us to invite all the relevant agencies so that we’ll hold them responsible.”
Asked if the House would endorse polls shift outside May 29, Mohammed said “it’s not possible. Nigeria is not anybody’s estate that they’ll change the rules in the middle of the game. The May 29 date is sacrosanct. We’ll invite all the agencies involved so that there won’t be another shift. It’s not possible to postpone again; we won’t accept that.”
“Let’s see the rationale for that. Let’s listen
to them, but it’s not attractive at all. Whoever that wants to bring any extension now must explain to us the reasons behind that,” said Rep Bimbo Daramola (APC, Ekiti).
“It supposed to be a collective decision. So we are waiting. How can tenure elongation be made when the present administration needs to hand over? The issue is that I am representing my people, once matters like this are tabled, you are allowed to consult your constituency. Your constituents’ decision on the matter will determine your position in the House,” said Rep Jerry Mamwe (SDP, Taraba).

PoliticsPatience Jonathan Mourns Bayelsa Women Who Died In Car Accident by handie(op): 9:02pm On Feb 15, 2015
Wife of the President, Mrs. Patience Jonathan, on Sunday sympathised with the government and people of Bayelsa State over the death of some prominent women from the state in a motor accident in Rivers State.

Although the two-paragraph statement by her spokesman, Ayo Adewuyi, did not give the circumstances surrounding the death, an online report said the women, including the wife of the Secretary to the Bayelsa State Government, Elizabeth Oguru, died after a visit to Mrs. Jonathan.

The statement read, “The First Lady, Dame Dr. Patience Faka Jonathan wishes to commiserate with the Government and people of Bayelsa State, over the death of some prominent Bayelsa women in a motor accident around Elele in Rivers State, on their way to Bayelsa. “The First Lady prays the Almighty God to grant the souls of the deceased eternal
rest and the families the fortitude to bear
the irreparable loss.”

The online report said the accident occurred in Ahoada on the East-West Road in Rivers State. It gave the names of others who died in the accident to include Consider Amadi, a former Woman Leader in Ogbia; Clara Abila, a grassroots politician; Immaculate Amasimua, a former Commissioner in the Bayelsa State Civil Service Commission; Zimbra Goma, a former Commissioner for Women Affairs in Bayelsa State; and Hon. Ruby Benjamin, a former member of the House of Assembly representing Brass Constituency 1 of Bayelsa State.

They were said to be returning from Port Harcourt in Rivers State where they had gone on a visit to Mrs. Jonathan. The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission in Bayelsa State, Vincent Jack, confirmed the development. Jack spoke with newsmen on the telephone on Sunday. He, however, said only nine persons died in the fire that engulfed the vehicle in which the victims were travelling.

The accident was said to have occurred when the tyre of an oncoming Toyota Sienna exploded and the car rammed into the bus carrying the women. The bus burst into flames immediately. The coaster bus in which the women were travelling was said to have bore the inscription: “Women For Change Initiative,” Mrs. Jonathan’s Non- Governmental Organisation.
I'm a staunch supporter of General Muhammadu Buhari and i pray that may the departed rest in peace and may God give the families the fortitude to bear the loss.
